Shortly after Alastor's little stunt in Lust, Kara had to do some collateral damage to make sure that things weren't too crazy. And even though Angel had signed a deal with Kara for protection from Valentino, he still had to work for him. During the therapy sessions that she did with Angel, she did learn more about his life in the mob. She promised Angel that none of this would leave the room, doctor-patient confidentiality. But she was also getting visits from Alastor, asking for advice on the feelings he had with Angel Dust. Though sometimes Alastor took Kara's advice a little too seriously.
One time, Kara suggested to Alastor that he should try leaving small gifts for Angel in his room. And you know what Alastor left Angel? A box of candy hearts; only the candy hearts turned out to be, mini human hearts still dripping with blood. The poor guy ended up getting food poisoning from the candy. Another time, Kara suggested that Alastor tried maybe leaving flowers in his dressing room at the Porn Studio. The flowers ended up being ones that Angel was allergic to and made Angel break out into hives, but it did get him out of the studio early. And that was yesterday; Angel was still not feeling well.
Kara gave Angel a few days off to recover which was something new for Angel, he never got the day off from Val. Kara told Charlie that she was going to her club for the day to make sure things were running smoothly. Everything was the same at the club; demons drinking, couples on dates, a few sinners under her contract working, and the occasional jackass showing up trying to harass the workers. And there was one couple where the partner had proposed to their lover which had cause for celebration. However, tonight would turn out to be a strange night for Kara when she ended up getting an unexpected visitor.
She had just sent some of her employees home while some of them stayed at the motel part of the club. She was cleaning up the place and the bar when the front door had burst open. "Sorry, we're closed," Kara said, not looking at the stranger.
She turned around to face the stranger who had walked in and to her surprise, the stranger was none other than Arackniss. She hadn't seen him since their little first meeting after she had sprung Angel out of the studio. The only thing was that Arackniss was injured. His right eye looked like it had been punched, his upper arms were laced with cuts, and there was a bullet wound where his right lower arm was. "Geez, Arackniss! What happened?! You look like you lost a brawl!" Kara shouted.
She then helped Arackniss to the bar table and grabbed out the first aid kit which she used to start treating Arackniss. "What is it with you and your brother coming into my club with injuries?" Kara muttered as she stitched up Arackniss's arms.
"Should've seen the other guys." Arackniss said, hissing in pain.
Kara had just finished wrapping up Arackniss's bullet wound in bandages, "You got any scotch?" Arackniss asked.
Kara went behind the bar and served Arackniss a scotch on rocks and a Bloody Mary for herself. "I thought you didn't drink." He said as he sipped his drink.
"Yeah well, I can. I just don't do it often." Kara stated, "So, care to tell me why you looked like the Walking Dead coming in?"
"I had a few things I needed to take care of for Pops. It just didn't go as planned." Arackness answered.
Kara offered Arackniss a ride home, he ended up doing a spit take from his drink. Arackniss told Kara that he was fine going by himself, but Kara insisted. She helped Arackniss into her car then she asked him to direct him to where she wanted to drop him off. Arackniss directed her to a giant mansion on a hill that was on the south side of the city. "Woah. I guess being in the mafia pays off." Kara muttered.
"Um, that's my boyfriend's place. Pops doesn't know about it. He's out of town for a few days so I sometimes spend the night here." Arackniss explained.
Kara parked the car in front of the mansion then she helped Arackniss out of the car, minding the wounds. When she opened the door and helped Arackniss inside; the last person she wanted to see came slithering over to Arackniss. This was the home of Sir Pentious and his Egg Bois. The minute Pentious laid eyes on Kara, he let out an aggravated hiss. "You two know each other?" Arackniss asked.
"Pentious almost destroyed the hotel. And he was still sour that Cherri and Angel kicked his ass in the turf war." Kara answered.
"I wouldn't be surprised if you had hurt my Nissy!" Pentious shouted while putting a protective arm around Arackniss.
"Oh really? Blame the Overlord of Music! News flash! He showed up in my club with those wounds. I was just helping him."
"Just keep your girlfriend on a leash! That includes Angel! I had enough sex jokes from them!"
"Hey watch it, Buster!"
"Ok, that's enough, yous two." Arackniss interrupted.
Kara just crossed her arms in a huff while Pentious stuck his tongue out at her. Arackniss told Pentious that Kara was kind enough to patch him up and bring him home, so he could at least be a little nicer. Pentious gave Arackniss a long kiss on the lips, promising his boyfriend that he'd behave. Kara finally agreed to play nice with Pentious and she'll try to get Cherri Bomb to back off. Kara wished the two boys a nice night then she hopped into her car and drove back to the city. It was supposed to be an easy drive home. Unfortunately, Kara's luck was about to get a whole lot worse in her case.
Her car suddenly came to a stop in the middle of the street; the hood had smoke coming from it. "Just my luck!" Kara shouted.
She got out of her car to check the damage. She felt like someone was watching her from a distance. She tried to shake off that feeling and try to fix her car. Then without warning…
BANG!
A gunshot was fired but it missed Kara by an inch. She looked around trying to spot the shooter in the alleyways or up on the rooftops. When she wasn't looking, someone crept up behind her and then whacked her on the head with a bat, knocking her unconscious. When she woke up, she found herself in a dark room, sitting on a chair with her hands tied behind her back. Italian aria music was echoing around the room then in front of her was another chair but bigger, the demon sitting in it seemed to be smoking a cigar. "So, you're the famous Overlord Kara?" the demon spoke in a thick Italian accent.
"That depends, who's asking?" Kara spoke, trying to twist her wrists free from the ropes.
The chair turned around to reveal a bigger spider demon with gray fur almost like Arackniss, dressed like an Italian Don mafia. It didn't take Kara long to know that he happened to be Arackniss and Angel Dust's father. Arackniss told her that he was out of town; he must have come back early. He puffed out some smoke from the cigar then turned his beady red eyes onto Kara. "You know who I am?" the guy asked.
"Arackniss and Angel's father, I'm guessing," Kara said with a smirk.
He slammed his fist on the table in rage, "Don't ever mention that traitor's name!" he shouted.
"Wow. Anger issues, much?" Kara remarked then she got her hands free. "A little sloppy on the knots there, sir."
"Henroin. Henroin DelRagno. I run the mafia here." he stated, ignoring Kara's little remark. "I got a situation that you are gonna help me with."
"And you couldn't have just asked instead of kidnapping me? I can see where Arackniss and Angel get their charming personality from." Kara stated.
Henrion ignored Kara's witty remark as he pulled out a folder that was filled with photos. But not just any photos, some were pictures of her and Angel Dust in her club, some had photos of Arackniss and Pentious together, and others were from Kara's past. Before she was an Overlord and club owner, she was a bounty hunter. She often got calls from powerful demons for her to take out their rivals, exes, or just someone who did them wrong. This was something that Kara had never told anyone about and hid it from her friends and Cherri. Some things were best to be kept secret.
"This you?" Henrion asked, pointing at the photo that had her killing a male sinner from Wrath with a knife.
"That was a long time ago. But yeah, that was me." Kara answered, still feeling shocked that he found those photos. "If you're asking me to kill Arackniss or Angel, then my answer is no. I'm not going to hurt Angel. He's like a brother to me. I would do anything to protect him."
"It's not Anthony I'm after," Henroin stated before handing another photo to Kara.
This time, the picture was of a female white and pink spider that looked identical to Angel Dust. "My daughter, Molly. She's missing." Henroin spoke, "Last she was seen, she was heading out of the jazz club she worked at."
"Gin and Jazz? Yeah. I know that place." Kara stated.
"I want to hire you to find her. And bring her home. She's the only thing that is good and decent about my life. If anything happened to her, this town will run red with blood." Henroin said.
"And yet, you show no love for your sons. Look, I quit bounty hunting for a reason. I'll find your daughter, but I don't want the money." Kara stated.
"Then what do you want?"
"When I bring Molly back, I'll let you know," Kara said then walked out of the room.
She was lucky that the jazz club wasn't too far of a walk. The place was busy but not as busy as Ozzie's nightclub. Jazz music was playing, and demons and sinners drinking gin and beer while smoking cigars and cigarettes. Luckily, Kara, one of her regulars from her club happened to work at the same jazz club that Molly worked, Miss Aasha Kelly. Kara walked in just in time for Aasha's performance. She was a sinner who took the form of a Succubus. She has pink skin with blond short hair, black-tipped horns, pink wings, and a barbed tail, dressed in a sparkly black flapper dress.
"For her first number, Miss Aasha Kelly would like to sing a song of love and devotion dedicated to her dear husband." the piano player stated, empathizing with the love and devotion part and the dear husband part.
A soft melody played on the piano as the curtains rose and there was Aasha herself, standing there in her signature flapper dress but she also had a red feather boa.
Sometimes I'm right
Sometimes I'm wrong
But he doesn't care
He'll string along
He loves me so
That funny honey of mine
Sometimes I'm down
Sometimes I'm up
But he follows 'round
Like some droopy-eyed pup
He loves me so
That funny honey of mine
She walked over to the piano and then laid on the side of the piano dramatically.
He ain't no sheik
That's no great physique
And Lord knows he ain't got the smarts
She sat up on the piano, kicking up her legs sexually.
But look at that soul
I tell you, that whole
Is a whole lot greater
Than the sum of his parts
And if you knew him like me
I know you'd agree
What if the world
Slandered my name?
Why, he'd be right there
Taking the blame
He loves me so
And it all suits me fine
That funny, sunny
Honey, hubby of mine
She then lay down on top of the piano, tossing her boa into the crowd for some demons to catch.
He loves me so
That funny honey of mine
Lord knows he ain't got the smarts!
She then shot up, remembering the betrayal of her dirty husband.
Now he shot off his trap
I can't stand that sap!
Look at him go
Rattin' on me
With just one more brain
What a half-wit he'd be
She banged her fist on the piano, getting emotional.
If they string me up
Well, I'll know who brought the twine!
That scummy, crummy
Dummy hubby of mine!
The crowd clapped for her as the curtain closed which gave Kara the chance to talk to Aasha alone. She walked towards the backstage area where most of the jazz band members and dancers were. She spotted Aasha smoking a cigarette while she was preparing for her next dance. Aasha noticed Kara walking towards her, "Ms. Melody. What a surprise. You rarely come down here." Aasha said, smoking.
"Nice to see you too, Aasha. Listen, I need a favor." Kara said.
"Sure, anything. You got me back into jazz." Aasha spoke as she put out her cigarette.
Kara pulled out the photo of Molly and then handed it to Aasha. "You recognize this gal?" Kara asked.
"Molly DelRagno? Yeah, I know her. We do dances together. Girls got some moves." Aasha commented.
"Has she shown up recently? Her father asked me to look for her." Kara explained.
"Now that I think about it, Molly has been coming to the club late. Sometimes in tears. I tried to ask her what was going on, but she never likes talking about it." Aasha answered.
"Do you know where I can find her?" Kara asked.
"I can take you to her," Aasha stated.
She managed to convince the stage manager that she was going out with Kara for a few minutes. Aasha took Kara to what seemed to be a rundown apartment place which was where Molly's boyfriend lived. The two of them walked up two flights of stairs to where the right apartment was. "Henroin never told me that his daughter had a boyfriend. I thought she just lived with her father." Kara spoke.
"I found out a month ago. From what Molly told me, the two of them were in love. At least until I saw her crying in her dressing room last week." Aasha stated.
Just then, they heard screams coming from the apartment that they stopped at. Aasha pointed out the gun that she had tucked away in her coat as Kara kicked the door open. Inside was a male Hell Fox sinner and Molly who was tied to the bed. The bastard was about to rape the poor girl. Aasha knew just who that sinner was, "You son of a bitch! I should have known!" she shouted stomping towards the sinner.
"Ash? I thought…" The guy was cut off when Aasha aimed the gun right at his face.
"Don't you play me, Fred Casely! You've been harassing my best friend! You did the same thing to me when we were alive! You acted all sweet and caring then you turned psycho when I dumped your sorry ass!" Aasha screamed loud enough to wake the dead.
Kara went to help Molly out of bed and then wrapped her in the blanket to cover her up. "That's life, sweetheart," Fred stated, trying to slip away.
"You son of a bitch! You son of a…!" Aasha fired three shots into her shitty ex-husband, his body fell to the floor with a thud.
The rage in her died down finally knowing that this man got what he deserved. Molly was okay but she was traumatized by what that demon had been doing to her. Kara took Molly back to her father who seemed to be happy that his daughter was found. She finally told Henroin what she wanted, she wanted him, Arackniss, and Molly to come to the hotel for a therapy meeting in two weeks. She figured that it was time that Angel got to make things up with his family. She went back to the hotel and she was welcomed by Charlie who was hugging her tight. She was worried when Kara didn't come back right away.
"Charlie, I'm fine. Something just came up. That's all." Kara said before going upstairs to check up on Angel.
