"So about the Vytal Festival, What should we do?" Ren asked as he walk between Jaune and Nora.
"Hmm from what I've heard some rounds are 2v2 and sometimes 1v1. Let's try switching partners since they might randomize the fights." Jaune said as he explained Team JNPR's plan.
"Since you and Nora already have a good synergy with each other let's switch it up Abit, with Vytal Festival being in the next month our plan is to up our synergy with each other. Rotation is Ren and Me, Nora and Pyr in the first week. Second week would be Ren and Pyr, Nora and Me. Third week would be team practice, I'm going to ask for a practice match with either Team CVFY or Team RWBY or even Team CRDL." Jaune continued as he opened the Cafeteria doors there he saw what was happening.
A food fight. And so with his quick thinking Jaune lead his team away from the chaos.
"Let's eat lunch at our dorms." Jaune said and Pyrrha and Ren agreed. But Nora pleaded.
"Nora no."
"But-"
"I won't make you the Lighter-than-air pancakes."
"But but-
"And I will order Ren to stop the midnight pancake snacks." Hearing this Nora gasped.
"You wouldn't!!!!"
"Oh I will." Nora gave in and walk away from the cafeteria door. As they walk away they saw a fuming Glynda Goodwitch and a smiling Ozpin walking pass them.
"Good afternoon professor Goodwitch and Headmaster Ozpin!" Team JNPR greeted which made Glynda surprised for a short second.
"Ah! oh. Yes good afternoon Team JNPR." Glynda said as she fake coughed as she composed herself.
"Good morning." Ozpin said with a small smile on his face.
"I thought you guys would join the food fight?" Ozpin asked.
"To be honest it's too...Uhh." Jaune couldn't find the right word to say.
"Troublesome." Pyrrha and Ren said at the same time as Jaune gave a nervous chuckle
"Haha, that is true anyhow a good afternoon again to you Team JNPR, me and Glynda still has something to take care of." Ozpin said as they continued walking towards the cafeteria.
"It's going to be detention isn't it?" Jaune asked to which all three agreed.
"Yep." They all said with a pop on the P except Ren.
"Alright let's move fast so me and Ren can cook earlier." Jaune ran first leaving his team behind.
"Hey! Wait for us!!" Nora yelled. As Pyrrha and Ren ran after Jaune.
"Last one to the dorm will give the others their pancakes." Hearing this Nora turned into a blur of orange and wisp of electricity.
"She used a dust crystal didn't she?"
"Yes. Yes she did." Ren said with a deadpan tone, which made Pyrrha giggle.
"Alright since I'm going to cook I'll be last." Jaune said as he lowers his pace.
After the classes student were given free time until the evening and in the Colosseum Team JNPR is training with one another.
"Hey! fearless leader do you think you can tell what your semblance is?" Nora went to Jaune who was resting after his spar with Ren.
"I can control wind isn't that obvious?"
"What about the unnatural regeneration and growth of your aura?"
"I don't know, it's probably because I use my semblance so often that my aura is growing so fast even when I'm asleep." Nora looked at Jaune who seemed genuine about his cluelessness and so she dropped the topic.
Jaune smiled in gratitude as he saw Nora run back and talked to Pyrrha they then started to spar. He saw Ren walking towards him.
"She asked about your semblance didn't she?"
"She did."
"I'm also curious about the thing that Nora talked about."
"One where my Aura is growing unnaturally?"
"Yes."
"Why?"
"Professor Goodwitch said I need to improve my Aura amount and my stamina, I have a lesser Aura amount unlike you three and I get tired fast. That's why I want to know how your aura grow faster than normal."
"I see. I can't think of anything but we can first start with using up all your aura just to activate your semblance." Jaune said.
"Overexertion? Ok I'll try." Ren sat down as he started to turn gray. one hours passed and Ren started to have color again.
"I'm out of Aura." Ren said as he sat and meditated. Jaune followed through by using up all his winds in a calm but continues manner. This continued for quite some time until both eventually stood up.
"I.. don't think it worked." Ren sighed as Jaune
"For now focus on your stamina. I also need to increase my stamina." Jaune said as he got up.
"Agreed." Ren followed his towards the training grounds.
"How about we spar for a bit?" Ren suggested.
"Sure."
They both walked onto the sparring ground and put their Scrolls in the machine that monitors and projects their Aura amount to the big screen.
"Ready?" Jaune asked unsheathing Crocea Mors.
"Yes." Ren nodded as he took out Stormflower and took a stance, a faint pink aura flared around Ren's body. Ren vanished Infront of Jaune. Jaune looked around but couldn't see Ren but then he heard a noise from above him. Jaune hastily used his shield to block Ren's blade. Managing to push him back Ren then followed up by shooting at Jaune.
"I really need a long range attack." Jaune said as he blocked Ren's volley. But then Jaune thought of something. Jaune generated winds around is sword and compressed it he then thrust forward.
"Take this!" Jaune release a gale made out of super high pressure condensed air that made a gash on the reinforced steel of the arena. Ren who was still in the air got swept by the gale which got him flying towards the wall of the colosseum. Jaune forgot that Ren was still recovering his Aura .
"Ren! Are you alright!?" Jaune immediately rushed towards Ren. Ren started to coughed onto his hand as Jaune slowly looked at Ren. Jaune saw blood on Ren's mouth and hand.
"Blood?!" When he saw that Ren's Aura was cracked. Unknowingly Jaune used his Aura and let's it flow to Ren's chest.
"I didn't mean to!! I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" Jaune panickingly used his Aura on Ren to which Ren finally open his eyes.
"I'm... Fine?" He breathe in deep as he felt his body relaxed and calm down from relief.
"I didn't think Aura can be used like this." Ren said as he felt his Aura recovered but then his eyes widens.
"What?" Jaune confusingly said as he kept using his Aura.
"It's like it's overflowing." Ren said as he flared his Aura, the pink colored aura started to become visibly solid like a hard light dust.
"What happened?!" Pyrrha and Nora yelled as they ran towards Jaune and Ren.
"Just a bit of an accident." Ren said as he stood up and stretched his back unknown to him the two girls of team JNPR saw the blood trailing from his mouth and the blood from his hand.
"Is that blood?!" Pyrrha said in panic as Nora held Jaune by the collar.
"WHAT DID YOU DO?!?" Nora said as she looked at Jaune.
"Wait! Nora calm down! It's fine! I'm fine, thanks to Jaune." Ren calmed Nora.
"But...But you got hurt! Why are ok with being hurt!?" Nora said as she was about to cry.
"Shhh, it was an accident Jaune didn't mean to hurt me. He even healed me after." Ren said as he wiped the tear from Nora's eyes.
"And also for some reason my aura capacity was expanded." Ren said as he smiled brightly.
"W-what?!" Nora yelled "How!?" She continued.
"Jaune used his Aura to heal me his Aura did heal me but it also amplified my aura's healing power it seemed that because of his amplification my aura reserves was able to expand to a whole new level. I can probably take on Cardin's mace and not get injured." Ren explained as he flared his Aura again.
"That's impossible using ones aura to amplify another is impossible and impractical, it can cause internal injuries." Pyrrha said as she looked at Ren then to Jaune her face changed as if she found an answer. Jaune stepped forward to face Ren and Nora, he then bowed his head.
"Ren, Nora. Sorry for what happened." Jaune said as bowed deeper.
"Jaune...I..I forgive you Jaune and to be honest that was more of an accident." Ren said as he pats Jaune's shoulder.
"Did you just used my shirt to wipe the blood off." Jaune asked as Ren smiled.
"Think of it as my revenge." He smiled as he ran away.
"Ren!" Jaune yelled as he chase after Ren who was smiling.
"They both seemed lively." Pyrrha smiled as Jaune chased after Ren.
"This is my first time in a long seeing Ren smile like that."
"Does he not smile that often?"
"Well he does smiled when we are together but after what happened to his village he never smiled brightly."
"Trauma does that, what happened to his village?"
"It was attacked by a monster." Nora paused.
"From Ren's narration it was a Grimm with a horse lower body and a humanoid upper body and stretchable limbs." Hearing this gave Pyrrha a deep thought.
"Let's ask professor Port tomorrow about this Grimm and then let's see what we can do about it." Pyrrha said as Nora nodded.
"Also I think I know the answer to Jaune's unnaturally growing Aura." Pyrrha said as she called Jaune and Ren as she was about to say something. She even urged Nora listen.
"I have a theory, I think Jaune's Semblance or should I say semblances are..."
The next day Team JNPR are now getting ready for class.
"I'm still jealous." Nora said as she sat near Jaune.
"Why?"
"Because your Semblance is wind control AND aura amplification, next thing I'll know Ren will have his Emotion control semblance AND Lightning control while Pyrrha will have her Polarity AND fire control." Nora said dejectedly as she sat up. "My semblance is me getting zapped to get stronger. It's unfair!!!!" She then walked around the room to gather the things needed for the classes while shouting unfair. Ren came out of the bathroom already dressed and since he was the last to take a bath.
"I don't think it's possible for me to develop a second semblance Nora, Also my semblance's name is Tranquility." Ren said as he immediately moved to gather his things too.
"Same with me I can't possibly have another semblance all of a sudden" Pyrrha said to which Nora replied with a "you never know."
"By the way what classes do we have today?" Pyrrha asked as she checked her notebooks, Jaune took a peek on his scroll to see their schedule.
"Grimm studies, Plant science, History and Combat class." He answered, Pyrrha thanked him as she took her notebooks related to the said projects.
"Professor Port's class makes me sleepy but I still like him better than Professor Peach and her plant science talks are really confusing it makes my brain hurt." Nora said as she put her shoes on. They all chucked after hearing Nora's complains Jaune then stood up and check his scroll.
"Everyone ready?" He asked. To which he got replied with affirmation and agreements.
"Alright. Since we still have an hour and a half, let's go to the cafeteria then go straight to Professor Port's class." Jaune said as walked out the door, everyone else followed him as he went out.
In the cafeteria team JNPR saw team RWBY with Sun next to them.
"Oh! Sun!" Nora ran towards their table.
"Ey! It's you guys! Nora! Jaune!" The monkey faunus greeted them as team JNPR sat Infront of team RWBY Sun.
"What are you up to?" Jaune asked Sun.
"Oh he's inviting Blake for the Beacon Dance." Yang answered.
"Dance huh?"
"Yep Beacon is hosting a dance before the start of the Vytal Festival." Weiss insightfully quipped.
"And I'm one of the organizers!!" She added Abit too excitedly.
"Don't worry I'm also there, so that Ice Queen here won't get to make the Dance boring." Yang smirked as she pointed her thumb at herself.
"I will have you know that I'm quite adept on organizing parties and such!" Weiss retorted. To which Yang only shrug with a smug smile.
"I see. Since it's a dance I need to invite a Partner." Jaune muttered which was heard by everyone.
"Just ask someone, I mean it's not like you're going to get rejected anyways." Yang said.
"Why do you say that? From what I know I'm not even popular with the ladies." Jaune said as he drank his tea. To which made Yang look at the others in confusion but they only shrugged.
"As expected teabags taste Abit bland than self made brew." Jaune said as he looked at his teacup. This got Weiss, Ren and Pyrrha curious even the people around them got curious to what he uttered.
"You can brew tea?" His friends simultaneously asked.
"You could say that but not just brew tea, I can also brew coffee, I even have a few recipes for each. I also have experiences with wines but that a story for another time." Jaune said as he remembered talking with Kaeya while practicing how to bar tend in Angel's Share.
"Not only can you cook but you can also make beverages? How about I employ you as my personal butler?" Weiss offered as she took at bite out of her fruit cake. Remembering The food he made for them during their Sister Team Building.
"No can do, planning to be a full time huntsman but I was thinking of running a cafe or something close to a restaurant when I retire. Since I enjoy cooking." Jaune said as he smiled and drank is tea and took a slice out of his cake. He then lowers his cup and looked at his Scroll. He didn't noticed that people more specifically girls are murmuring about him.
"30 minutes before Grimm studies I suggest we moved now lest we want to be late." Jaune said as pocketed his scroll. His team stood up and said their goodbyes to RWBY and
"I've noticing lately, you sometimes speak the same as Weiss and sometimes you speak informally." Nora said as she eyed Jaune.
"Huh? Is that so?"
"Yep you do speak as if you're a knight or something which kinda fits your image but also weird since you sound like someone having and existential crises."
"I don't know, I guess it became a habit being near Weiss and Pyrrha I think kinda made me speak like this."
"Huh? Really? Well I won't pry anymore, though I'm still jealous though." Nora said as she walk ahead.
"Aw come on Nora."
"It's a Nunckelavee..." Port said with a hint of seriousness.
"That is the name of the Grimm that destroyed your home and from what you've said it has a bit of intellect meaning it's an ancient Grimm which makes it ten times more dangerous due to it being able to use simple tactics like ambushes and it doesn't rely on instructs alone, not only that but from what I've studied some ancient Grimm has some sort of power to command lesser or lower rank Grimms." Port insightfully and seriously said which surprised Jaune, Pyrrha, Nora and Ren.
"I suggest you to prepare if you are planning on taking on such creature. But I advice you to tread carefully when you do meet it." Port added as he look straight towards Ren. Which made Ren flinch at the look he gave.
"I see... Thank you professor." Pyrrha said as Ren gave the professor a nod.
"But you're truly planning on killing it, first thing you need to do it to immobilize it's movements and cut it's arms. Since even if it's an ancient Grimm without limbs to fight back it's only prey." the professor chuckled as he watched them walk away.
"Ren. Get your head out of it for now. Let's plan for the Vytal Festival first." Jaune said as he pats Ren's shoulder.
"We'll hunting it down when we can I'll even give you the last hit if you want the satisfaction of killing it." Jaune said as he looked at Ren. Ren turned gray and calmed himself down as he saw the support that his teammates are giving him. He then looked at Nora.
"Nora I thought I remembered telling to consult me before recounting our past."
"Sorry Ren but I kinda babbled."
"It's fine." He then turned to Jaune and Pyrrha.
"Thank you." Ren bowed his head towards Jaune and Pyrrha.
"Anything for our friend." Jaune said as Pyrrha nodded in agreement. They then continued to their next class.
"You would be my greatest creation." Jaune heard a female voice.
"With you Khaenri'ah will be safeguard for millennium! My golden Dragon!" She added as Jaune's eyes opened. There he saw the golden dragon Durin and a woman.
"I shall name you Durin the dragon healing and protection." He saw a small smile on the woman's face. He saw that there are also people in some sort of big capsules who looks the same. He read the name of the one's in the capsules.
"Albedo?" Jaune's eyes widens as he saw the name.
His vision stirred like a tv that switched it's channel.
There Jaune saw it. Chaos, from where is was standing he saw a fissure in reality. People are fighting monsters using advance weaponry that looks much more advance than Atlas. A giant Robot fighting a purple tentacle- like miasma. Humans from different ages and genders fighting or running away from the monsters that is coming out of the fissure.
"What is this?" He mumbled to himself then he saw Durin protecting and healing the people from wolf-like creature that came from the fissure and from the distance he saw ruin guards shooting rockets toward the monsters.
As if on queue Jaune heard a roar as Durin was bit on the neck by a giant wolf-like creature, Durin broke free from the mouth of the creature but Jaune can see the damage it caused to Durin. He then saw some sort of purple to black tar started to appear on the bite wound. Jaune heard screams of the people around as a wave of miasma hit them. From there Jaune saw the most horrible thing he has ever saw the transformation of a human to a Hilichurl. The humans screamed in agony as their body transformed, Jaune closed his eyes and blocked his ears but due to the loudness and the amount of people screaming he still can't help but hear it, He heard bones creaking and breaking as screams followed them. He looked back and saw Durin's body slowly melting, his golden scales are no more only replaced by black bones. Jaune ran around but all he could see was destruction. Tear flowed out of his eyes as he saw dead bodies and people who are turning into a monster of the abyss. He kept running and running until he eventually reached a high ground. He saw the chaos and destruction that happened due to the fissure. He also saw twins with blonde hair overlooking the chaos from a nearby cliff he saw that one of the twin fall on their knees as the other twin hugged the other.
He then saw them fled from the scene different lights appeared in the sky. The twins looked back as same with Jaune. The light bursted forth and appear people.
"Venti?" He saw the first person who has a white wings on his back and a lyre on his hand his winds pierced through everything and anything even people who are alive.
Jaune also saw a male with pale skin and long black hair that was tied into a long ponytail at the back of his head with orange gradients. The power of the Geo element stained his hands, leaving orange-colored vein-like markings across his body and wears a single earring with a white stone on his left ear.
A woman who has violet hair with a flower accessory. She wears a light purple kimono and a lightning blade on her hand.
A woman with white hair that is braided. She is wearing a white dress with bit and wisp of green. Plant and leaves grows wherever she floated.
Small female figure also floated near them she is wearing a cloak of white white blue accents that covers her whole body. The element of hydro floated around her and two more other figures with the element of Pyro and Cryo also appeared beside the five.
He saw the seven charge their elements. Then everything paused. Jaune felt like he's being watched. The world paused. Everything cracked as Jaune was greeted by the void.
"YoU ArE NOt CElStiA's LiGhT." Jaune heard a distorted voice as his Aura flared by itself it's as if his body rendered the being as dangerous.
"Such light. It's. Warm." The voice smoothen as a man and a woman's voice was heard. The sounded like it's fond of the white flame that is Jaune's Aura. Jaune didn't speak for he couldn't. Shivers ran down to his spine as a gigantic hands appeared to surround him but instead of crush him it cradle him. The hand of the woman was under him and the hand of the man was over the woman's hand, it's as if they are hiding him from the outside.
"Will you help us? O wanderer?"
Jaune woke up from his his bed in Beacon with a loud gasped. And for some reason Ren also stirred awake. He looked at Jaune as if he solved an unsolvable mystery.
"Ren?" Jaune looked at Ren in confusion.
"Jaune. We have to talk." Ren said in seriousness. Jaune hearing the seriousness in his voice nodded as they went outside.
"I saw some things that is hard to explain. Its a country or a nation that fell there was fire everywhere monsters that feels so alien fought against the humans and many many deaths." Ren said as they both stopped far away from the dorms they are outside near the around the courtyard. They sat down on one of the benches near a street light and trashcan and a vending machine.
"That's the destruction of Khaenri'ah and the Cataclysm the happened in the other world five hundred years ago." Jaune answered which confused Ren.
"How do you know what it was?" Ren asked loudly as he held Jaune.
"I was there too, That's my real semblance Through sleeping I can visit another world, I still can't explain the visions that I keep seeing though. Ren paused as he looked at Jaune straight into the eyes questions not coming out of his mouth.
"I see so you're also confused as I am." Ren said as he massaged his temples.
"I thought the monster that destroyed my town is the worse of all the Grimm but nothing is more scarier than those things." Ren said he remembered the monsters of the abyss.
"Those things are much worse than Grimm." He added.
"Even with all those seven people combined didn't stop the monsters." Ren added which made Jaune look at him.
"What do mean by that Ren?" Ren looked at him.
"You didn't see them fight the monsters?" Ren said.
" I was...transferred somewhere and saw being that are much stronger and dangerous than those monsters." Jaune honestly said as Ren looked terrified.
"T-this.. this is bad. Such beings exist in that other world, then that means-"
"The other world is much dangerous than this world." Jaune finished.
"Is there a way for you to stop yourself from visiting?" Ren asked worriedly.
"I have no idea. I just sleep then boom I'm there I can't go back even if I sleep in the other world." Jaune answered
"Wait. What if you exhaust yourself so much? Then maybe you will be forced to be kicked out of the world." Ren said which made Jaune's eyes widens.
"We can try that." Jaune said as he nodded to Ren.
"So what happened to the seven?" Jaune asked to urge Ren to continue.
"Five fell only two remained." Ren answered.
"The one who controls the wind got poisoned and the one who controls the earth managed to get away."
"Then? What happened?"
"I don't know. I woke up after seeing the light that came from the sky." Ren said in frustration.
"I see...How were you able to see these visions?" Jaune asked.
"The time when you used your Aura to heal me. It probably gaveme some sort of connection or a bond to you and that semblance of yours." Ren said.
"That means?"
"There might be possibility of me being able to join you in the other world." Ren said.
"That answers one of my questions." Jaune said as he chuckled to which Ren joined in.
"I need a coffee or something to calm me down." Jaune said as he stood up from the bench and walked towards the vending machine Jaune pressed the cold coffee after putting lien on the machine, he did this two times and walked back to the bench threw one of the can towards Ren.
"Thank I needed this." Ren said as he caught the thrown can. With a clink they both opened their can.
"Should we tell the others?" Jaune asked.
"That... I don't know. I don't want to put Nora in danger." Ren said as he took a sip from his can.
"Are you two like a thing?" Jaune asked.
"...Well..." Ren sighed as he took a deep breath. " you could say that Nora is my anchor to this world. If she's gone then."
"You'll lose yourself?"
"You could say that, if Nora wasn't with me back when Kuroyuri I would ran after the Grimm with only a dagger in my hand" Ren answered as he pulled out a dagger.
"That's my father's dagger gave it to me before confronting the Nunckelavee." Ren said as he sheathed the dagger.
"Let's... plan for now if we need help we can talk to the Pyr and Nora." Jaune said sipped his coffee. "I think. I need to think about some things. I can't sleep." He said as he stood up.
"You just drank coffee." Ren said as he followed Jaune who threw his to a trash can but he missed. Which made Jaune grumbled. Ren walked towards the trash can and threw in his can. Jaune used the wind to get the can in the trash.
"Also I have been curious what is the origin of your wind power?" Ren asked.
"If we managed to go the other world I'll tell you." Jaune said as he continued walking. Unknown to the two a certain reaper was listening to them as they walk away.
Some stuff in this fanfiction are not really in line with the lore, so please don't be angry at me.
I mostly read the each of the archon's lore in the wiki and tried piecing them together. I've read about Khaenri'ah's destruction, Rukkhadavata's Profile, Makoto's profile and the other archons too though some knowledge are still unknown to us. And to clarify the Tsaritsa was not one of the original seven, it's unknown how she ascended so the Cryo archon in this story is the previous original one. It was said that 3 of the original Seven died in Khaenri'ah and/or the Cataclysm. So I'll just go with most Archon died except Venti and Zhongli.
Also from what I've seen in the Focalors' profile on the wiki she was not the original archon of Fontaine, it was Egeria. Anyways if you see somethings that doesn't add up to the lore in the wiki just tell me in the review I really like the lore surrounding the cataclysm and Celestia, I can't wait to learn about why Tsaritsa wants to bring down Celestia.
Also fanfiction isn't a harem so don't expect a harem in this fanfiction.
