A young boy with tan skin came running swiftly, his anxious and fearful screeches bursting the bubble of tranquility that surrounded them.
"He is gone!. They took him"
"Who is gone?". Octavia tried, unsuccessfully, to soothe the frantic teenager but he just kept weeping and mumbling incoherent words.
"He is gone!. Why aren't you helping me?"
"Glen, please, you are not making sense"
"You have to help me!" He shouted while frantically tugging his short black hair in a desperate attempt to regain some semblance of normalcy.
"We will but we don't even know what happened". Octavia pleas fell on deaf ears; it was like he couldn't hear what she was trying to say.
"You have to help me… he is… I"
"Glen" Clarke's forceful tone compelled him to stop babbling, he found himself unwillingly tongue-tied and unable to do anything but listen to her.
"Take a deep breath and tell me what happened"
"We… Drew and I were…" He stammered a little "We were…"
He was perched on the hollow of atree large enough to shelter his lean built body, its leafy branches arrayed as a soft cushion to rest his head on.
His blonde companion deftly unbuttoned his old blue jeans and pulled them down in one swift movement.
Drew smirked and licked his lips suggestively at the sight in front of him. Glen, on the other hand, felt utterly mortified at his situation. He cursed loudly at his body for betraying him; a simple glance, a few feather light touches and he was already completely stiff, his engorged member fighting to leave the confines of his boxers.
The blonde hair boy simply laughed; his light green eyes were twinkling with raw lust and desire.
"Don't be embarrassed darling. I'm flattered".
Someone shook him, bringing him out of his memories.
"I'm sorry, I got lost in my thoughts"
"So, what were you and Drew doing so late outside camp?" Octavia interjected.
"We were… exploring…" His face turned beet red.
The brunette raised an eyebrow in question but didn't say a word. A brief smirk danced upon her lips, she had explored the woods quite a few times since they arrived.
"We saw glowing butterflies, they only come out after the sunset" Glen said trying to justify their actions without admitting what they were doing. He was not ashamed but he knew they had been stupid and irresponsible; they shouldn't have gone so far away.
Clarke waved her hand, completely dismissing his explanation.
"I don't care what you were doing; I just want to know what happened"
"We walked a few miles through the forest. We decided to stop to… rest… I was leaning on a tree when…"
Glen started to cry again, his voice was barely audible.
"Glen please, it's really important that you focus"
He sobbed a bit more but managed to compose himself, he owned it to Drew. He needed to be strong for him. Glen brushed his tears and kept talking.
"They struck him down with an arrow and then took him"
"Close your eyes… what more do you remember?"
Drew was on his knees, eagerly going down on him, like a dehydrated man would drink a glass of water in the desert, when they heard a noise.
The blond boy stood up, absentmindedly cleaning his mouth with the back of his hand. "Who is there?"
"What?. Where are you going man?!. You can't leave me like this!". Glen said pointing at his still proudly erected penis.
"I will make it up to you, I promise" The blonde winked playfully.
"Nothing… no, wait!. There was a sign. Drew found it, he was so excited about it … it was rusty and barely legible."
"Close your eyes and focus on it, try to remember"
"Mount Weather. It said Mount Weather"
Even if she had been expecting it Clarke stiffened and shuddered involuntarily. A chill went down her spine, freezing her in place. Different victim, same place, it seemed that some events were fixed to happen no matter how much she tried to stop them.
"We will look for him first thing in the morning"
"But…"
"It's almost midnight; there is no point in going now"
"Octavia is right Glen. We don't know the terrain, we don't have lamps and we have no idea how many of these people are still out there. To go now is suicidal"
At the break of dawn Clarke and Octavia walked hastily through the camp until they found Bellamy.
The self-appointed leader of the delinquents had taken refuge inside a piece of parachute hanging loosely from a tree, one guard patrolled the area and another blocked the entrance to the poorly assembled tent.
The boy guarding the door grabbed Clarke by the arm, trying to stop her from going inside.
"Hey, you can't go in there!"
The blond took Mgbe's hand in hers and with a simple twist she had him on his knees.
"You don't tell me what to do, are we clear?".
He mumbled some unintelligible words. Clarke twisted his arm harder, she didn't really want to harm him but she would if she had to; men like Mgbe only respected brute strength.
"I said, are we clear?"
"Yes, yes, please let me go!"
When she looked towards the makeshift bed she saw a girl on top of Bellamy, her back turned towards the entrance.
She was on top of Lexa.
Not having much experience regarding sex, and caring even less about political power plays, she hadn't considered the deeper meaning of Lexa's actions.
Clarke realized now that she could have easily killed Lexa if she had wanted to. Heda was a formidable opponent but no one could keep their guard up 24/7 and yet, despite knowing the danger, the brunette had shared her bed and body without reservation.
At the time she had simply surrender to her lust but now it made her heart soar to know how much Heda trusted her, maybe even loved her already.
We will find you soon my love.
We promise.
Clarke shook her head, getting rid of the images; it wouldn't bode well for her to get lost in a memory and forget that there where many hurdles ahead.
"Can you please leave?. Bellamy and I need to talk"
"Stay. Griffin and I have nothing to discuss"
Roma smiled pleasantly at Bellamy, gave him a short kiss on the lips and, without adding a word, proceed to get dressed.
She liked Bellamy, well she liked sleeping with him at least, but she was not going to incur Clarke Griffin's wrath for him. If he wanted to openly defy her so be it but she was smart enough to know that sometimes you just have to close your mouth and do as you are told.
Roma laughed when she realized Clarke had averted her eyes at the sight of her nakedness, her cheeks were flaming red and she was trying not to look. It was quite adorable that the formidable Miss Griffin was so easily flustered.
"Why are you here Griffin?"
"Did you know that Drew is missing since last night?
"What?. No, that's not possible. Someone would have told me"
"I'm telling you"
"I meant they would have told me first"
"Glen did come here" Clarke conceded him that small victory "but your guards send him away so he came to see me"
"And you decided to wait the whole night?!". His anger was sincere, in his misguided way Bellamy cared for the delinquents just as much as she did.
"It was Octavia's idea actually, but she was right. We don't know the terrain or if the people out there are friendly or will slaughter us upon sight no questions asked, trying to find him last night would have been suicidal".
"Friendly?! Are you insane?. They kidnapped Drew; friendly is the last word I would use. Savages is more likely"
Clarke felt her eyes burning, Wanheda was seething. She wanted to smack Bellamy until he understood that thinking like that would only bring their downfall in the long run. Luckily Octavia seemed to be on her same wavelength and wasted no time in admonishing him for his short-sightedness.
"We are the intruders here Bell. How would you feel if unknown people trespassed into our camp?. People whose intentions you don't know. I'm sure you wouldn't exactly welcome them with open arms, would you?"
Bellamy kept quiet but slowly nodded, acknowledging the truth of his sister's words. He no longer talked about savages and confrontations; instead he devoted his time to planning how to rescue Drew.
Clarke knew he still harbored distrust and xenophobic views but this scenario was already more promising than the first time around. She did not expect him to simply roll over and embrace grounders as their allies but Octavia's incisive questions were an excellent way to point him in the right direction.
Early on Clarke had realized that the brunette open-mindedness and quick assessment of situations were the key to curve Bellamy's more impulsive and destructive actions and not for the first time she thanked Wanheda for encouraging their friendship.
When Octavia suggested they asked others for their help, Clarke warned her that involving too many people might not be the best idea. The only advantage the delinquents had was the element of surprise.
In the end, to avoid spreading unnecessary panic, they decided to keep it as low key as possible. Bellamy wanted Octavia to stay in the camp; the brunette simply ignored him and resumed walking.
Murphy and Wells were pretending to guard their wood and water cans, they didn't think anyone would be stupid enough to try anything but it provided them with an excellent cover for their real mission; keeping a discreet eye on the other delinquents milling around.
Finn stopped by, presumably simply to chat, but it was obvious since the start that he was only looking for Clarke.
"She is not here" Wells said, abruptly ending the boy's unsubtle attempts at questioning. Murphy raised his eyebrows, amused at the anger in his voice.
The black boy was fed up with Finn; he might have been good-looking, Wells admitted to himself that he had imagined how it would feel to run his hands through that luxurious and soft looking hair, but he was a bumbling fool who only cared about himself. If Finn could stop thinking with his dick for a minute he might realize the kind of danger they were in.
Finn pursed his lips but gave no other sign of been affected by Well's contempt, he simply inhaled loudly a few times and forced his features to adopt his usual boyish and charming grin.
"So… does Clarke know you have the hots for her?" He was still smiling nonchalantly but his yes betrayed him, his sole porpoise was to inflict as much pain as he could.
John was half way up from the floor, ready to intervene, when Wells's took his hand and made him sit again.
"Yes, she knows I'm in love with her"
"Didn't go well I suppose"
A musical laughter broke the silence. "Actually, we have never been better. Unlike other people I know how to take a no for an answer"
Finn's smirk was instantly wiped from his face and this time it was Murphy who laughed while they watch the boy leave as fast as his feet could carry him.
"Drew!" Glen's voice reverberated through the empty clearing.
"What are you guys waiting for?. He is right there!". He pointed at his boyfriend pinned against a tree with a giant spear protruding from his chest.
Bellamy curl his lip in annoyance, he understood his desperation but he would get them all killed.
Octavia knew Drew was one of Bellamy's most staunch supporters and he would probably not take kindly to losing him, so before her brother could do something drastic she forcefully put her hand over Glen's mouth to keep him silent.
"Glen, we have to be smart about this. Ok? We can't just run to him". Octavia's compassion shone in her voice, making Glen loose all his rebelliousness.
Clarke was assessing their situation, this time she knew they were facing a band of rogue grounders that got scared when the delinquents got too close to Mount Weather. The Mountain men had been the bane of the grounders existence since the first tribes populated the earth; it was no surprise that they got frightened when an unknown group of people seemed eager to find their enemy's bunker.
Lexa confided in her she had never approve their actions, her orders had been to spy and asses if they were a threat, no actions were to be taken unless provoked first. Unfortunately, xenophobia and distrust weren't traits exclusive to the Arkers.
The delinquents carefully walked towards their injured comrade and when no one tried to attack them they simply pull him down.
Clarke could swear she saw Tris a few meters to their left and her lips curled in a tiny smile. The girl more than likely had been spying on them since they arrived and this time she had saved their life reminding the other grounders that Heda's orders had been to watch not intervene.
The blonde tore a piece of her shirt and with Octavia's help they bandaged the wound on Drew's chest. The blonde could barely walk so Glen and Bellamy took turns carrying him to their camp.
At first they had left Drew on a make shift bed in the dropship but his screams of agony got so loud that many were pushing to simply get rid of him. Glen got so worried that someone might actually try to kill him that he begged Clarke to take them in.
At night while they were patrolling Murphy casually pointed out that Octavia had taken to disappear into the woods quite often.
"What do you think she is doing?" Charlotte's innocent question wiped his lewd smile instantly. For a second he had forgotten she was there.
"Probably watching the glowing butterflies" Clarke replied hastily when she realized John was struggling to come up with an answer.
"Can I do it?"
"When you are older short-stack". His seriousness confused Charlotte but warmed Clarke's heart; he truly had taken to heart the role as her protector, even if it was against something as ordinary as teenage boys.
After that night she had taken to watch the brunette more closely, her smile had gotten bigger and was present almost 24/7. Clarke was delighted, if someone deserved happiness that was Octavia.
The blonde hoped that this new found bliss meant she had finally found Lincoln. The gentle giant had definitely brought out the best in her best friend, his love and care had allowed Octavia to flourish and became the best version of herself she could possibly be.
"Fucking idiots!"
Titus had never seen Lexa so angry before, she was loudly cursing and barely containing herself from smashing things against the wall of her throne room.
Heda was in no state to talk so the flamekeepa interrogated Anya, or at least he tried to, the woman frightened him a bit too much.
The General explained about the incident with the sky-people, Titu's expression turned sour.
Why did Lexa care about something so trivial?. What did it matter if they attacked the intruders?. If it had been in his power he would have already wiped them out.
Judging his expression Anya realized he was about to say something foolish and condescending, as usual, and so she took it upon herself to wipe out his self-entitled smirk.
"Are you really that stupid?"
"Im the flamekeepa, you don't get to talk me like that!"
His outrage only spurred her on. "If you are a moron, I will treat you like one"
"Stop!. Both of you!" Lexa's commanding voice did the trick, making their bickering cease instantly.
"But she…"
"I said shut up Titus. Didn't you hear me?" Anya snickered "And you… please don't make this worse". The blonde dutifully comply but kept on grinning.
"Have you not realized they might be inclined to ally with the maunon after this?".
Heda's words left Titus speechless; he had definitely not considered that angle before.
