Chapter 8: Clean Cuts. (Warning! Chapter Will Contain: Intense Blood and Violence w/ Character Cruelty)
Fighting how you were trained to fight.
-(Front Landing Pad, Beacon Academy)-
(Third-Person View)
"What's going on?" Ruby asked after coming up to Isaac after his phone call.
"We got some guests heading to our campus." He answered.
"Probable hostile?" Pyrrha asked while rubbing her head, still recovering from the incident like the rest.
He shrugged his shoulders at her. "Goodwitch believes it might be. Usually whenever any aircraft is within our airspace, we warn them and ask to state their intentions or divert away from this zone. This one did not respond. Hell, radar sites didn't detect its classification."
"Then it might be." Weiss stated her conclusion as everyone else seemed to have the same opinion.
"Don't get too trigger happy. There's a very tiny chance they aren't dangerous. But, if they are…"
A gun loading sound echoed inside the amphitheater as it came from Isaac, holding a specially designed pistol used in the Vale Military Forces. However, it was clearly modified personally by Isaac as it matched his armor in both built-in design and color. Extended mags, a mini dot sight with a built-in blue laser sight and muzzle flash hider.
Ruby stared at his weapon in awe as her weapons enthusiast side took over her mind. "So pretty…." She muttered.
Isaac chuckled at her interest and loaded his sidearm. "Not my main weapon of choice, but it gets the job done."
"Then, where's your main weapon?"
"In my lab. It's currently under repairs right now." He gave a dry smile, hinting that his main weapon suffered more than just minor damage.
She snapped out of her state of admiration and made sure her Crescent Rose was loaded. "Let's head to the landing pad while we still have time."
"Professor Goodwitch will meet with us there shortly. So, we'll be the first ones to meet our visitors." Isaac said while leading both teams out of the amphitheater, hastily heading west to where the landing pads were.
Without question, all of Team RWBY and JNPR followed Isaac closely through the west wing, to the entrance that leads the cobblestone path to the landing pads. A single Bullhead aircraft was the only thing present as the entrance door opened, with a team of well-dressed armed men coming out with weapons ranging from machetes to illegal firearms customized in their own way. It doesn't take genius to see that these guys were clearly not a good bunch. It was even expected that they were just about to engage in fire towards the intervening team of Hunters-in-Training led by an actual Huntsman.
Strangely enough, the band of gangsters didn't fire a single bullet when they got closer.
One of the last two to come out was a woman with two different colored eyes and hair, dressed in a formal and dashing style; consisting of a white trench coat with a pink scarf, black leggings, white and silver lined boots, and holding a parasol. Lastly, a man who was formally dressed with orange hair, sharp eyes, and a bowler hat stepped out with a cane in his hand.
Yang growled as she recognized the stylish woman whom she faced during a raid on a White Fang controlled train. She eagerly readied her gauntlets for any upcoming fight first before everyone else went into a defensive stance.
As for Ruby, she glared at the man with the bowler hat. She already met him a few times to the point where even he glared back at her.
"Roman?" Ruby groaned in annoyance.
"Red?" Roman smirked and twirled his cane. "Of course, you would be one of the first to come."
"Stop calling me that!"
"What are you doing here?" Isaac aimed his pistol at him, making Roman's guards raise their weapons higher. "Hate to disappoint you, Roman. But we don't have any mascara to give you."
Jaune looked up at Isaac in shock, then at Roman. "That guy wears makeup?!"
Nora snickered. "Kind of like what you did during the dance." She reminded as Pyrrha resisted her laughter by keeping a straight face in the situation.
"Nora, this isn't the time…!" He whispered.
Roman shook his head and played along with his insult. "Of course. But I wasn't here for any sort of cosmetics. I had something else in mind."
"If you're here for some bullets, then I will gladly give you to them. The FUN way." Yang threatened with her gauntlets.
"Excuse me, but I never asked for your opinion." He rolled his eyes as Neo stepped forward with a cockish smirk.
Ruby looked at her sister and shook her head. "Stand down. For now…" She added with a whisper.
Yang reluctantly lowered her fists a bit and sighed.
"Oh really?" Isaac raised an eyebrow. "And what convinced you to go out on a death wish trip like this?"
"It has nothing to do with you or your students. So, there is no need to unholster your weapons like that." Roman folded his arms and moved forward in front of his defensive line of bodyguards. "I can assure you my men won't fire a single shot at you."
Isaac tilted his pistol down a bit, but kept his finger on the side of the trigger. "Then I advise you to stop stalling before one of my colleagues get here."
"It'll take more than just that to have an effective act on intimidation."
"You sure? Cause my crosshairs are already directly at your chest." Ruby threatened.
Weiss smirked and pointed her rapier at them. "We can always get this over with and kick all of you out the hard way."
"Weiss Schnee, are you really willing to protect a Drahënese boy? I've heard about the heated hostilities between Atlas and the Empire citizens."
She gave off a puzzled expression. "What Drahënese boy? Like I care who that is."
"The one we're after is from the Empire. So, if you just let us speak to him, we'll be on our way." Roman offered.
Weiss turned to Isaac and asked, "How many Drahënese students do we have?"
"None." He answered, "Except…"
"Me."
A voice answered from behind them. Everyone turned towards the voice and saw Wyvern standing there, arms folded and blankly staring at Roman and the others while ignoring Isaac, Team RWBY and JNPR as if they weren't there. He was mainly focused on the enemies in front of him. After a few seconds, Wyvern remained stiff and approached between the two groups to remain in the center.
Upon Wyvern passing by, Ruby felt an unnatural form of energy coming from Wyvern. Her aura was so sensitive due to the tension of the situation, it was now noticeable to feel that something was clearly different about him. Something she didn't seem to enjoy feeling. She looked at the others and saw what she expected. They too felt the same mysterious energy from Wyvern as it was enough to make Jaune shiver a bit. For Isaac, he remained unnaturally stiff as if he was trying to hide the effectiveness of the troubling aura.
"There you are!" Roman grinned excitingly and tilted his bowler hat. "We meet again."
"Again…?" Ruby looked at Wyvern and Roman in surprise that they at least crossed paths.
"Roman. We don't have any mascara here." Wyvern taunted.
"Okay, seriously, what is the deal with this guy and mascara?" Jaune questioned out loud.
Roman sighed and shook his head from the petty taunt. "I'm aware. But at least you're here already to save us the trouble."
Isaac raised his gun back at the same level and glared harshly at him. "I thought you said this has nothing to do with my students!"
"Student?" He scoffed and looked at Wyvern before letting out a laugh. "Hold on a moment, he's NOT an advisor for the RDM?"
"Wyvern, Advisor for the Royal Drahënese Military…?" He raised an eyebrow, puzzled. "Who the hell provides you this intel? No wait. It needs to be accurate to be considered intel."
"There has been word spreading in the underground that a Drahënese Military advisor was sent here in response to what the White Fang has been pulling off. The White Fang suspected it was Wyvern as he has always been a thorn in their operations since."
This was completely new to Ruby and her friends as they had no idea the Drahën Empire was much more involved outside their homeland than they thought. Blake and Weiss looked at Wyvern and began to think there was something even more special about him being sent here. And it seems Ruby and the rest of JNPR had the same speculation.
"But it doesn't really matter." Roman stepped back towards his line of defense and smirked cockishly with Neo next to him. "We have some business to take care of."
Wyvern was unfazed from the threat and stepped forward almost fearlessly. "Business? I can see where this is going. You sure you want to pull this off?"
Roman stayed silent and just tapped his cane on the ground where his men raised their firearms and directly aimed at him. Neo, on the other hand, she opened her parasol and twirled it around playfully before displaying the same smirk as her master.
Isaac was now prepared for the inevitable along with Ruby and the others. Weapons were fully drawn, all bodies were in combat stance, and game faces were kept on. Before Isaac could even touch the trigger, the voice of Professor Goodwitch called from behind him, halting further actions. However, Roman along with Wyvern and both teams of hunters-in-training remained combat ready without realizing Goodwitch's presence.
"Glynda. There you are." He smiled and closed his left eye and aimed with his right. "Just in time before the exhilarating part." He said with a high state of confidence.
"I'm afraid we have an update from the Headmaster himself." She stated while she had her riding crop put away.
"Update?" Isaac noticed her weapon holstered and was confused for this sort of act in this situation. "Don't tell me you intend on negotiating with these guys. Just because they're well-dressed doesn't hide their dirt in the inside."
"That's not the case." Glynda shook her head and whispered into Isaac's ear to inform him about the actual plan from Ozpin. The moment she backed away after telling everything, Isaac was immensely shocked.
"What?!"
Glynda nodded and sighed. "Ozpin's orders."
He looked at Team RWBY and JNPR, still standing by for an upcoming fight. "Then we should probably get Ruby and the others out of here."
"No. They are to remain here."
Isaac turned back to Glynda. "What do you mean they have to stay here?! Do you even realize what they're about to see?!"
"Ozpin WANTS them to see it." She folded her arms and narrowed her eyes at him sharply. "Don't get too soft around them. Huntsman and Huntresses are going to have to learn the brutalities of the world. They've only seen a glimpse of it."
"It's not about protecting them from that. It's more about how they'll feel about him once they fully see who he really is." He looked at Wyvern; stepping forward towards Roman, then at Ruby and her friends; watching as they were ready to assist Wyvern in this fight. Letting out a sigh and switching his pistol to safety, he holstered it back to his side, knowing he was supposed to comply no matter what. "Normally, I would oppose this idea and find another solution. But if Ozpin thinks this is okay, so be it."
Ruby turned to him and nodded her head. "Ready to engage."
"No. Stand down."
"What?"
"Stand down. Do not engage Roman and his men."
Yang groaned in annoyance and turned to him. "Why? They're gonna start something while we're out in the open like this."
"Leave that to Wyvern." Glynda stated while she already had her weapon lowered.
She rolled her eyes at how much her own Professor was willing to put this much trust on a student alone against a gang. "I doubt that's gonna be enough to stop Roman and his pet from sneaking in any sort of attack on us."
"You're going to have to trust your allies, Yang." She replied. "And I know for a fact Wyvern is capable of doing that."
"Trusting your allies may be important, but it still shouldn't be taken at this risk either." Pyrrha stated as she refused to stand down too.
"Interfering in a fight Wyvern must take part in will only put your lives in more danger. You're about to see why."
Isaac nodded and added something Ruby and the others didn't think about. "It's also why he wasn't placed in a team to begin with." He said.
Ruby began to think about that as soon as it was brought up. She even began to wonder if Wyvern's late attendance was related to him coming here without traditionally being assigned to a team, since this was all after the initiation they went through. And the fact that Wyvern was assigned to stay in the staff dormitory instead of the student dormitory was beginning to make her even more curious to what is so special about him.
Then, she remembered that day when she was spying on him having a meeting with Professor Goodwitch, Isaac, and Ozpin himself. He openly stated in a saddened and embarrassed manner…
"I know, there are things wrong with me and all of you know it." -Wyvern
With that in mind, she remembered the gruesome and disturbing evidences from Blake's findings during her service in the White Fang. Killing highly trained members when he was just a child.
Could that all be related to why Isaac and Goodwitch was stopping them from assisting Wyvern?
"Roman came here just for Wyvern. Nothing else. If that's what he's here for, he should have already signed his will. Them coming here to face him is already a death sentence." Isaac shook his head as he knew mercenary work could easily give them a disadvantage from their greed. "Makes me wonder what kind of price was enough to convince them to do this."
"An exaggerated amount, I assume." Glynda guessed.
"Answer this first, Roman. What sort of business? Judging by the amount of guards armed to the teeth, seems more than just sitting down and having tea while talking." Wyvern stated his awareness to combat being a factor.
"Simple. Someone has put quite the price on your head." He answered.
"Does that make me more valuable than you?"
Roman growled as he started to grow more aggravated at Wyvern's insults. He sighed and just gave a smug smirk to hide his anger. "I suppose so. By the time I am done with you, I'll be sure to buy something far more valuable than you can imagine once we gain our share."
Wyvern gave a taunting smirk back, "Something valuable? Here's a suggestion: Buy yourself a brain."
Neo clenched her weapon tightly as she was clearly annoyed for Wyvern insulting Roman again. Not saying a word, she rolled her eyes back at him.
"It was stupid of you to come here so openly. An academy full of students and professors who are capable of combat." Wyvern shook his head as Roman just tilted his bowler hat. "Was this your idea?"
Roman chuckled, "Not at all. I just prefer to make things more daring. I also love putting myself out there, just to show who they're dealing with."
"Dumb move, for a criminal. Then allow me to introduce myself even further."
"You against all of us? You gotta be kidding me." He laughed as some of the other bodyguards chuckled along too, with a few following just to hide their nervousness.
Wyvern chuckled along and pulled out one of his swords. "An unfair fight. For all of you, that is."
"Start saying your prayers, Wyvern."
*BANG!*
The first shot was fired by one of the guards next to Roman. As the bullet escaped its chamber and headed directly towards Wyvern's head, his right arm that wielded one of his swords raised up in a blink of an eye. He tilted and pointed it in a specific direction where the bullet would deflect on its blade, and swung it back, leaving a quick glimpse of sparks created by the shot.
The man that took the shot had his head cleanly get impacted by his own bullet. His blank expression and the blood drizzling down his forehead shocked Roman as some of his blood even landed on him. A few seconds of silence, the man dropped dead on the ground.
"My prayers go out for him." He taunted, now ready for a fight.
Roman growled and raised his cane to fire an explosive round directly at Wyvern. In response, he easily dodged the shot and began to dash towards the group, now ready to use lethal force. Roman and his group had the same intentions as well and fired back with a wave of gunfire. As he went closer to the first line of defense, Wyvern threw the sword he held at one of the men who had a shotgun to avoid a lethal blast, impaling him at the aircraft's hull. Then, he pulled out his second sword and slashed through his foes, slicing cleanly through their flesh and bone.
Whenever some bodyguards decide to use desperate measures by using their machetes, Wyvern would expertly parry their attacks and welcome them with a brutally lethal counterattack. In one case, he even sliced a man in half when he attempted to stab his stomach. He swayed his sword at his enemy's machete to deflect the blade to another direction, grabbed his wrist, then initiated the killing blow by slicing his abdomen in half. There were no screams. Just silence as the bodyguard was in complete dismay from what happened.
Team RWBY and JNPR couldn't help but express their shock at not only Wyvern's combat efficiency, but the way he wasn't hesitating his attacks to kill. It really was as if he was used to killing not only Grimm, but others as well. Due to how the academy mainly focuses on killing Grimm more than human or faunus opponents, watching their enemies die in front of them was something they weren't used to.
One by one, Roman's manpower was starting to dwindle down as the last few remaining were now in a panic, seeing their impending doom approach closer. The small few that still had enough courage to fight lost it the instant they felt Wyvern's blades hit them, dropping them down with a spill of their blood. Two of the men from range began firing full-auto directly at Wyvern, only for his shots to be deflected from Wyvern's swift twirling of his swords, only one bullet grazing neck. It bled, but it did not stop him. Before one could reload, he threw one of his blades at the one still providing suppressing fire, impaling his neck and falling to the ground. The guard reloading was now vulnerable, leaving him to panic and drop his magazine. Attempting to escape by running, he was stopped when the second sword was thrown at him, stabbing through his torso. The guard dropped on his knees, and finally collapsed to the floor next to his partner.
"You bastard!" Another henchman charged from behind him with another.
Wyvern leaped forward towards the men that fired upon him and took the weapon of the bodyguard that was still loaded. The first henchman closest was welcomed with a hard hit from the machine pistol, fracturing his skull. When he was down, Wyvern pointed the gun at the other henchman running at him and fired all the rounds until the mag was empty. A hailstorm of bullets ripped through the man as the powerful velocity of them pushed him back. The charging man dropped dead, but the one below Wyvern still wasn't through yet. Before he could counterattack, Wyvern grabbed the neck of him and added insult to injury by smashing his already fractured skull to the ground, killing him.
Now, it was one last regular henchman to deal with. He panicked and whimpered but was stopped after Wyvern picked up both his swords from the dead bodies and pinned his legs to the ground.
Ruby was trembling harshly as she felt traumatized at Wyvern's ruthlessness. The nice and welcoming side of him seemed like it was all but a distant memory. She tried to convince her heart that the "real" Wyvern was still in there, but the Wyvern in combat was nothing more but a monster. As for the others, it was more of the same. It was so bad to where Jaune and Nora couldn't bear to watch anymore.
Blake stepped forward, "This can't go on any longer."
"Stop." Goodwitch ordered while blocking her path with her arm.
"But if we don't, he's gonna-"
"I said stop!" She snarled, "If you interfere, you will most definitely get hurt."
Isaac sighed and shook his head. "They were here to kill him anyway. No use feeling bad for them."
"So…just let them die?!"
"Blake," he turned towards her and frowned at her still present naïve side, "as a Hunter, you gotta accept the fact you have to kill. Even if that means human or faunus lives. Not just the Grimm. If you knew how Roman and his men operate, you would know they never show mercy. In return, they don't deserve any hint of it."
"That will still make us look like monsters in a way."
"Not as bigger monsters as the Grimm or these guys. Stand-down." He ordered.
Blake clenched her fists tightly but released them upon realizing he was right. She remembered that being a Huntress isn't going to be easy as killing is a part of the job. Due to her family beliefs of non-violence after The Eleven Days War, she thought to herself violence could be avoided all the time unless necessary. Now, as a Huntress-in-training, violence was expected all the time with a chance of a peaceful solution being slim in a situation like this. She reluctantly halted from intervening, having no choice but to watch Wyvern continue.
"I'll make this quick." Wyvern deadpanned and lifted up his foot at his victim.
"Wait….hold on." The bodyguard lifted his hands in surrender, "Please don't!"
*STOMP!*
And just like that, Wyvern's stomp was enough to kill the guard quickly. However, there was no sign of any hesitation and remorse from it. He continued to step forward towards the other two remaining: Roman himself, and Neo.
Although Roman was clearly starting to show signs of uneasiness, Neo remained resilient to stand her ground and protect her boss at any cost. She stepped forward towards Wyvern while Roman did the opposite, stepping back towards the ship, their only means of escape.
Neo's piercing glare sharpened as she readied her parasol for combat. However, Wyvern remained unfazed from any intimidation.
"I normally don't hit women. However," Wyvern waved the blood off his swords, "I do when they're a threat."
"You're going to pay for all this…!" Roman growled angrily at the sight of his dead men.
"I don't think killing me is going to be enough to pay back the expenses for your losses."
Instead of talking back, Roman nodded at Neo as a sign for her to move in for the first strike. As she charged towards Wyvern, Roman aimed and took a shot of a high explosive round from his cane to have Wyvern react to the shot first before Neo. This proved to work as Wyvern jumped and rolled out of the way but gave Neo an open opportunity to strike where he landed. It was predictable as she delivered a swipe of her parasol at him, causing him to get knocked off his feet and get slashed from attached blades on the edge of her weapon.
Wyvern landed on the cobblestone path, but successfully went on his knees to check the damages. A few drops of blood fell onto the path as a disgusting gash was on his left chin and ear. Thankfully, the blades did not make a pass through his neck due to the protection of his neck guard connected to his pauldrons.
Roman gave a satisfied smirk and discovered an advantage to this. Since Wyvern did not want to risk deflecting an explosive round, he would usually dodge it and leave him exposed for a moment. Then, Neo would react fast and deal a blow.
"Just a scratch." He said and wiped off some of the blood drizzling from his cuts.
"We'll see about that." Roman reloaded his cane and aimed directly at Wyvern again.
*CLICK*
Wyvern immediately jumped out of the way for an imminent strike of the explosive shot. Or so he thought…
No round was sent towards him as he didn't see an explosion happen where he stood last time.
Little did he know, Neo took his confusion as an opportunity to strike and went in for the hit. Before Wyvern could turn his head to see it coming, Neo used her parasol weapon to send a critically harsh strike on his stomach. She twirled it and swished it upwards to his chin before sliding her leg down to incapacitate and make him fall over. While he remained in midair, Neo twirled her parasol once again and hammed down on Wyvern's torso, making him cough out from the impact.
Wyvern attempted to counter another attack but felt Neo's high heels stab his right hand. He was repeatedly hit in the head with her weapon but she suddenly stopped. She jumped away from a greater distance and made Wyvern get back up immediately, trying to ignore the wound on his right hand. Looking to see why Neo hopped away, he finally discovered why when he heard a loud bang from behind him. The last thing he saw was Roman pointing his cane at him with an amused smile.
*BOOM!*
Wyvern felt a fiery wave along with shrapnel boost across his body. The concussive wave sent him aback and roll on the cobblestone path while his bearings were hazy from the unexpected hit. He groaned in pain as his ears were still ringing. Shrapnel wounds along with the wound on his hand was greatly weakening him, leaving his aura the only source of recovering in this fight. The worst part leaving him vulnerable was the concussion wave that hit him when he was unprepared. Him standing didn't last long as he fell to his knees again and panted heavily in pain.
Roman laughed at the unintentional deception he created earlier and grinned proudly about it. "Oh my goodness~! That was too perfect!"
Neo nodded in agreement and twirled her parasol around again.
Wyvern slowly got off the ground and looked up, only to be welcomed with a shot from Roman, blasting him back and hitting a light post, leaving an imprint of his back and head.
Angrily, Ruby stepped forward with her Crescent Rose as if she was ready to shut both of their sadistic laughter over Wyvern's pain. Before she was able to aim her weapon, Glynda stopped her from advancing and looked at her scroll, then back to Wyvern with a slightly pressured expression. What was about to happen was probably going to be one of the riskiest decisions from Ozpin and herself as she was going to be the one to give Wyvern the sign.
"Wyvern." Glynda looked at him and clenched her scroll. "If you need to transform, by all means. Ozpin gave it a green."
He groaned and looked at Team RWBY and JNPR, all staring at him. "What about them?"
Isaac nodded his head. "We'll let it work. Now, do it."
"Do what?" Ruby asked and soon had her question answered when she saw what Wyvern was doing.
"Have you ever heard of a zhulong?" Isaac asked instead of answering her question directly.
"Zhulong…?"
Wyvern caught his breath and stood up on his feet, somewhat unbalanced from the critical impact he received. While remaining where he stood, he started to twirl both of his swords around – starting off slowly, but soon picking up speed to the point where it was difficult to see the blades.
Roman knew he was building up to something and ordered Neo to step back to him in order to send another explosive round. This time, he loaded a special round manually from his cane and aimed it. Upon firing, the speed of the projectile was so fast to the point where its trace was unable to be tracked, followed by an explosion that was twice the size compared to the previous rounds. He knew the explosion would be enough to knock his opponent down and disrupt whatever he was planning, but he was shocked to see Wyvern standing there, still twirling his swords around while only getting some explosive residue from his armor and face.
It only took around five seconds in order to finally reveal what Wyvern was building up to.
The pupil on his visible blue eye started to shrink and turn slit, almost similar to a reptilian. When he exhaled from his mouth, leaving it briefly opened, two feral-like fangs began to grow. But the biggest changes in his appearance was the sudden burst of black wings from his back, followed by a formation of white-grayish horns from his head. His feet were lifted off the ground as his wings kept him afloat.
Team RWBY and JNPR were at a loss for words of what they were seeing. All this time, they assumed Wyvern was just an ordinary human student as he had no clear resemblance to any faunus or anything in regards to appearance. It was intentionally kept hidden more discreetly unlike how Blake hides her ears using her bow/ribbons. Although it was shocking to witness such an unexpected reveal, it was also an amazing sight as they have never seen this sort of form before.
"That, is what a Zhulong is." Isaac stated as he gave a small smile. "Still amazes me that they still exist."
"Still exists? What do you mean by that?" Blake asked while watching Wyvern's wings flap around.
"We'll fill you in as soon as Roman is dealt with. Should be handled pretty easily."
With that, Roman was in awe from this sort of transformation. Never in his life has he seen a person directly transform into a something that has never been seen before. He knew it was something special and the rumors of the White Fang marking him a priority target was starting to make a little more sense. "What the hell are you…?" He asked, still taken aback after what he witnessed.
"Something you've never faced before." He replied with a less specific answer. "I'm curious to see how you can handle me in this form."
All Roman did was stand by Neo as he was willing to provide assistance from a now dangerous foe. "I'm sure they will know once we're done here."
"You won't be alive to tell everyone."
Before Roman could launch another round, Wyvern immediately leaped forward with the assistance of his wings to make him move more swiftly. He wasn't ready for this sort of move, but was saved by Neo in time as her parasol deflected both of Wyvern's blades. When his swords were swiped away, Wyvern spun around to send a surprising kick, enough for her to move out of the way briefly. However, Roman had enough time to jump back to keep a safe distance. From there, he aimed and launched another explosive shot, creating a cloud of dust after it hit where Wyvern stood.
Neo smirked and immediately dashed towards the dusty cloud and sent a swift and deadly swiped across it, surely able to decapitate anyone that stood there. Instead, Neo realized there was no aura presence within the cloud, and no blood was tainted on her weapon. What she noticed was a shadow in front of her, formed from Wyvern as he was hovering above where she was. Having no time to react in time, Wyvern flew down harshly and sent out a slash of his right sword and knocked her back to the Bullhead, leaving a dent on its side. On her knees, she regained her vision and noticed her left arm had a gash from his attack. Blood was already oozing out from it as she bit her lip to try and suppress the pain.
Roman growled angrily from the fact his precious bodyguard was harmed. He relentlessly sent in a barrage of explosive shots at Wyvern. It all hit his target, but Wyvern remained standing as his aura turned more tense all of a sudden. The more it raised, the more uneasy everyone else felt, including Team RWBY and the others. The aura Wyvern contained didn't seem normal compared to humans or faunus. Something much sinister.
"Enough!" Wyvern growled and dashed towards Roman and Neo, but only aimed towards one of them. He went passed Roman, and sent a menacingly hard punch on Neo, back to the Bullhead, and even making it push towards the edge of the landing pad and fall. Now, there was no means of escaping for those two.
Neo coughed violently as she was then lifted, then thrown to the other side of the landing pad, trembling in pain as the punch disorientated her as well.
Yang, watching the whole thing, cringed from that sort of attack. She was one helluva puncher, but Wyvern showing off that sort of attack and seeing Neo in pain was enough for her to feel bad for the silent young lady. She couldn't imagine if that was her if Wyvern decided to use self-defense against herself after punching him.
In a last desperate attempt to protect Roman, Neo saw Wyvern approach her and swiped her weapon at him, only to miss. She did it again but was finally disarmed by him and tossed further close to the edge.
"NEO!" Roman cried as he watched her crawling away from the edge, and her opponent. When he attempted to run to her, he was stopped when Wyvern's sword was thrown and stuck up from the ground.
Before Neo could get back up, she felt a kick impact her face and sent her down the cliffside. She was unable to gasp in any air or scream before she finally ended up splashing in the water far down below.
Wyvern didn't bother looking down to check on her, knowing she would either succumb to the waves pushing her around the rocks and the cliff wall, or drown. Instead, he shifted his eyes at his last prey.
Roman was petrified to see his best bodyguard go down so easily. With Wyvern now approaching him, he attempted to hide his fearfulness by displaying his anger for taking down Neo.
"You're dead…" He growled while pointing his cane at him.
Wyvern didn't flinch or even felt any caution when he was threatened like that. Instead, Roman's state made him even more tensed up for everyone to feel.
He removed his eyepatch to reveal the one thing he wanted to hide all this time - his demonic-like red eye. A wicked sight (pun-intended) of a red aura began forming out of it, intensifying by the second. The cloudy aura then began to form around Roman as he confusingly looked around, beginning to grow uneasy from what was happening. Then, Roman couldn't move his body. He tried to break free, but only felt another force lift him up from the ground, suspending him in the air.
It was all clear. Wyvern's red eye was manipulating Roman's unopened aura and bounded him to his will. Every movement of his body is controlled by Wyvern and now leaves him vulnerable. With nobody from his group there to help him, Roman was an open target and Wyvern could not be interrupted from his focus.
"Wh-What is this…?!" He questioned fearfully as his resistance increased.
Throughout this process, Wyvern was only giving off a grim expression as if he was voided from any emotion. At very brief moments, both of his eyes would pulsate an odd glow. It was especially visible in his active red one.
"What is this freak doing?!" He growled at Isaac and Glynda, who only stood silent and shut their eyes, knowing the inevitable outcome.
Wyvern then forcefully made Roman's right arm lift up with his cane. It pointed directly at the group, but slowly began to pan left to his arm. Roman couldn't bear the painful procedure of him controlling his unopened aura. It felt like his body was being scorched in flames. When he felt something touch against his left bicep, he opened his eyes-…
*BOOM!*
Roman's ears were ringing as the muzzle flash from his cane temporarily blinded him from seeing clearly. However, he began to feel a slight pain from his left arm. Then it slowly began to tense up by the second to the point where it was excruciating. He slowly turned his head left, with his expression turning from confused to extremely horrified. His arm was no longer there. It was blown off by his own weapon that Wyvern forced his body to fire upon himself.
With that, Wyvern unbounded his red eye control from Roman as he groaned in pain while covering it as if HE was in pain this time. He caught his breath and took his hand off his left eye, revealing it to be leaking a drop of blood. Wiping it off like a regular tear, Wyvern approached his victim.
Back to Roman, he screamed out in both pain and horror as his left arm was gone. Blood oozed out of the shoulder as it began to contaminate his apparel and hand that tried to seal the bleeding.
"My arm…you fucking psycho…" Roman whimpered.
Wyvern emptily stared down at his misery and kicked his cane away from him.
Without warning, Roman gave Wyvern an uppercut as it was able to stagger Wyvern backwards. Its effectiveness was a bit lacking as Wyvern was able to still stand straight while rubbing his chin. He spat on the ground, having a little bit of blood on it before approaching him yet again. Roman sent out another punch, but Wyvern grabbed his arm and snapped his elbow backwards to break his arm.
Roman screamed and cried out in pain as his right arm was now disturbingly dislocated. With his left arm blown off and his right arm broken, he was rendered harmless.
Now was the time to finish the job. Wyvern grabbed him by his neck and carried him effortlessly to the edge of the landing pad. Roman, now physically and mentally broken was shivering and whimpering in fear for his life and the height. His face was contorted in absolute terror as Wyvern's menacing expression was going to be the last thing for him to see. But he noticed something the more he looked deeper. He was slowly beginning to show he was somewhat sympathetic about Roman's state. He figured he was alive for too long and was already suffering more than enough compared to his bodyguards and Neo. To this, Roman thought he was able to show mercy and spare him.
"Please don't…" Roman said as he struggled to get the words out due to being tightly gripped by the neck.
Wyvern stared back at him and gave Roman the final words he will hear before dying.
"I'm sorry."
*SNAP*
Roman's hat fell to the ground next to Wyvern's feet. The breeze from the cliffside blew Roman's hair away from covering his eyes – now dilated lifelessly after his neck was snapped harshly, finally putting an end to his suffering. Instead of leaving him to be a part of the mess, Wyvern dropped Roman's body down to the sea below.
Wyvern picked up Roman's hat and shook his head. "It was a mistake coming here in the first place." He said and kept it held in his hand while stepping away from the edge and walking towards Beacon. He covered his left red eye again as he gritted his teeth tightly, feeling another wave of pain after using it. His walking was affected as he used one of his swords to support his body from collapsing.
It almost seemed like he was dangerously drained after using what his red eye possessed.
He continued to make his way towards Beacon, almost limping from the injuries he sustained from both Roman and Neo. The pain from his left eye was also responsible as it felt like one of the most painful migraines one can ever endure. With all this, he refused any assistance from the others. He didn't even give them any sort of eye contact.
"Are you okay, Wyvern…?" Ruby called out as she was a step away from going after him. However, she was halted by Glynda as she displayed a much tense expression than what she usually showed. Almost enraged in the inside, judging by her aura and tension on the grip of her crop weapon.
Glynda kept her eyes at her and the others. "Enough. All of you, stay right there." She declared.
Isaac frowned and shrugged his shoulders at the group, a clear sign he told her everything. "Sorry, fellas. One way or another, she would've found out."
"Professor Goodwitch, if you could just listen to us," Weiss attempted to reason with her.
"Listen? Is that what all of you considered to Wyvern a moment ago?"
"In defense of Ruby and her friends," Isaac moved forward to try and step up for his students, "they were just trying to make sure Wyvern was in no way a threat towards us. Although I criticized their approach, I think they learned their lesson."
She shook her head, "You know how Ozpin takes this matter seriously. Learning their lesson or not, this was a massive violation of privacy, especially towards someone as important as Wyvern."
"Is he really this important to keep down?" Yang asked.
"Ozpin taking Wyvern seriously is enough for you to know the answer." She replied, "If you think we're still oblivious about Wyvern completely, you are way beyond incorrect. All his information was given to us directly by his Master along with his parents, and with his own permission. From the minute of his birth to the day he was accepted into Beacon."
"Then how much do you know about what we just showed him?"
"I'm fully aware of what happened to him in the past." She acknowledged, "All the things you discovered from those files that Blake stole from the White Fang, it was all too familiar to me. Specifically, the seven men killed when he was a child and those photos of Qrow Branwen. The latter being taken as a misunderstanding from all of you."
Ruby bit her lip before attempting to convince her they learned their lesson. "We're sorry. We just wanted to help. Please let us just-"
"Quiet!" Glynda finally showed her anger by shouting at the youngest student in Beacon. "You all have "helped" quite enough today." She said coldly.
With that sort of response from Professor Goodwitch herself, Team RWBY and JNPR felt even more saddened and regretful for their actions. They may be students, but this situation was handled poorly enough for get them scolded more harshly than anything. Ruby defeatedly bowed her head as a way of acknowledging she will take full responsibility for her team. Yang couldn't stand seeing her like this and just stepped forward next to her sister and bowed her head this time, clearly wanting to take the burden off her shoulders since she was the one that assaulted Wyvern. If there was anyone who wanted to take the worst of it all, Yang would've taken it.
Isaac patted Glynda's shoulder, "Okay, that's enough. I know you have the most important job on your shoulders, but there's no need to kick them down even further."
Glynda looked back at her students and was soon eased down upon realizing their remorse. She let out a sigh and folded her arms. "Just don't do this ever again. I understand now that you were simply trying to protect us and your fellow students, but all of this wasn't necessary."
"But what happens?" Blake asked. "Do we have to stay away from him from now on?"
"Ordinarily, I would've kept a closer eye on all of you whenever you're near him." She admitted. "But it's all up to Wyvern if he has the heart to forgive you for this sort of accusation, and this sort of approach."
"I doubt it's gonna be that easy." Ren said.
"Exactly. Don't get you hopes up so easily if you believe he'll let this slide." Glynda shifted her eyes away and exhaled through her nose. "Let me tell you this to understand. Being given the position as Wyvern's advisor is incredibly important and needs to be taken seriously. Even if that means I need to intervene in any action towards other students."
Letting out another sigh, Ruby bowed her head as another means of an apology. "Again, we're sorry."
Yang curiously raised an eyebrow and folded her arms. "Question. Do you enjoy being Wyvern's advisor?"
"There's more to it than you understand, Yang." Isaac sighed and shadily looked away.
"Understand?"
"She openly accepted the request once it was declared by Wyvern's master." Isaac explained and gave off a rather disturbed expression. "However, Glynda's true intentions is that she aims for the younger boys!"
*BAM!*
"How dare you accuse me of something so predatory!" Glynda angrily pointed her crop at Isaac, on the ground having a red imprint on his cheek from a clear hit.
"I was kidding…" Isaac groaned, still laying on the cobblestone path.
Yang busted out laughing at Isaac's misery from getting hit with her crop. "You scolded us for accusing Wyvern like that, and now you follow the same example."
Ruby gave a dry smile. "To be fair, he was joking about it."
"We shouldn't really be joking about that sometimes though." Weiss mumbled.
"That's not the point." Glynda said, "Being his advisor was just an idea to ensure he's in a more stable state. Whether he likes it or not, I know what I have to do and will keep it."
"But do YOU enjoy it?" Ruby asked curiously.
"My enjoyment or displeasure for this task is irrelevant and is to remain professional as intended. It doesn't matter."
Isaac folded his arms and pointed at Glynda. "Always professional with her work. That's why she was chosen."
"I expect you to do your job too instead of alleging me with that sort of despicable statement." She glared back at the "techno geek" professor.
He sighed and formed a small smile, followed by a chuckle. "Alright, alright. I'm sorry."
Glynda rolled her eyes, knowing Isaac for cracking jokes. "As a lesson, clean up the mess. I can smell the bodies from here." Her eyes squinted as the smell of blood was strong enough to make Jaune gag a bit.
Isaac gave an OK hand signal and turned towards the bloody massacre left behind by Wyvern. "Oh God…I hate handling bodies…" He mumbled and shivered at the sight.
"Exactly why I gave you this as punishment. Now, move it."
"At once…mom." He jokingly muttered to himself.
Ruby stepped forward towards Glynda and nervously asked, "What should I-….all of us do?" She corrected.
"Follow me. Speak to anyone else, I'll have you go through insufferable consequences." Glynda warned harshly.

I know some of you probably lost interest in this story, but I still enjoy writing it and intend to finish it, even if that means nobody wants to read it. If you don't follow this anymore, it's understandable. No need to continue. For those who are still following, you deserve a reward for being the most patient readers.
Overall, I hope the fighting scene was easy to follow. I figured it was best not to make it a wall of texts using very in-depth detail, since there are people out there who prefer to get straight to the point or imagine the fight themselves. This chapter is basically two years old with some revisions made that I thought needed some work. Hope it was alright.)
