A/N: Now, this is where Tree Trunks left off. But this time, there may be a couple of changes, involving Jake's past and his situation. And aside from that, I can at least tell you now that in this episode, Jermaine will be voiced by Tom Scharpling this time around.
Adventure Time with Finn, Jake, & Rachel
Chapter 7: Crystals Have Power
One night, near the tree fort, an unknown stranger snuck toward the tree and set down a sort of crystal with lipstick on it before knocking and leaving.
"Who could that be at this time of night?", Rachel puzzled to herself before opening the door and seeing some kind of crystal at the front door.
"A crystal? Why would someone leave this here?", Rachel puzzled, picking it up.
Then, a thought occurred to her.
"Wait a second... Could it be?", Rachel pondered to herself.
Much later, Rachel, restless, had stayed up all night searching through a holo book at the kitchen table while holding said crystal in her arms.
"Hey, Rae-Rae.", Finn greeted.
But when he saw her, he could tell that Rachel hadn't slept a wink all night.
"Are you okay? You look like you haven't slept all night.", Finn asked.
"I haven't.", Rachel replied.
"Why?", Jake asked.
"Someone left this crystal on our door step last night. I think it might be a clue to rescuing Tree Trunks. So, I'm trying to find information about it using the holobook.", Rachel explained.
"Wow, really?", Finn asked, eager to save Tree Trunks if he can.
"I hope so. And the sooner we find out what kind of crystal it is, the better.", Rachel responded.
"All right, but before this, you need to relax a little. I know just the thing to take your mind off things.", Jake responded.
"Like what?", Rachel asked.
"Liiiike... Tough Guy contest! Whoo-hoo! Tough Boys!", Jake replied as he flexed his bicep, did a spin, and posed.
But Rachel was not pleased as she groaned and turned back to the crystal. When she did, though, she was surprised to notice a lone lipstick mark resembling lips on the crystal's side.
"Huh? That's funny. I never saw that on the crystal before.", Rachel puzzled.
"Wait man, doesn't this look like Tree Trunks' lipstick?", Finn asked.
Jake thought otherwise as it then showed a flashback back at the Scary Dark Forest from their recent adventure.
"That's impossible, Tree Trunks exploded in the scary dark forest after she ate that Crystal Gem Apple, remember?", Jake asked.
"Yeah, I remember.", Finn responded, looking solemn.
"But that's only as far as we know. Don't forget that the Crystal Gem Apple is actually used to create portals to and from the Crystal Dimension. So, maybe Tree Trunks was going through some kind of side effect because she ate it and needed our help to resolve it.", Rachel guessed.
"You think that's possible, Rae-Rae?", Finn asked.
"It's not just possible. It's more likely.", Rachel responded.
"Maybe, maybe. But like I said, you need to take your mind off things and relax for a while.", Jake said.
Rachel was hesitant, but the dog did have a point. She did stay up all night researching info about crystals. It wouldn't do any good if she's exhausted mid-fight.
"Well... okay. But only for a half hour.", Rachel responded.
Eager nevertheless, Jake went to Finn.
"Come on man! Tough Guy contest me!", Jake spoke up.
"Ha!", Finn grinned.
"You got what it takes to rip-it?!", Jake asked, flexing his bicep again.
"Uh, yeah!", Finn replied.
"Then let's get it on!", Jake shouted as Rachel snuck up behind him and cast her spell.
"Zap!", Rachel shouted, freezing Jake from the neck down as he exclaimed in surprise.
"Oh, it's been got on, dude.", Rachel smirked.
"Whoa, Rae-Rae, how'd you get over there?!", Jake asked with an excited grin.
Later, with Jake now chiseled out of Rachel's ice, the Ice Princess in question was now referee.
"Round 1! Strength check!", Rachel called.
With that, the contest began with Finn breaking a branch over his knee.
"Yeah-yo!", Finn spoke.
However, Jake was holding a chaise lounge chair and broke it over his knee.
"Hee-yah!", Jake grunted as he did so.
"Round Two, baby!", Finn spoke up as the screen went black for a moment and showed said words.
"Pain Endurance!", Rachel stated.
"Do it, man, do it!", Jake dared as he held out his arm and clenched his fist.
In compliance, Finn pinched the skin on Jake's extended arm.
Jake's face wrinkled up trying to hold back a single tear. The tear was then sucked back into his eye and Jake rubbed his arm.
"Okay, it looks like Jake can take it. But let's see how well he can dish it out.", Rachel said.
With that, Jake quickly grabbed for Finn's chest and twisted it. Finn began to shriek but stopped himself by biting his lip. However, that wasn't enough to stifle his agony. A single tear trickled out of his eye and dropped from his face.
"OOOOOOW!", Finn shouted in slow motion before the tear splashed onto the ground.
"Round Three", Jake and Rachel shouted in unison.
"Wrestling!", Rachel added by herself.
Suddenly, both Finn & Jake locked hands, trying to best one other as Finn even put Jake in a headlock.
"Got you, dude!", Finn smirked.
"I'm gonna break out!", Jake warned as he began to inflate in size.
"No way!", Finn argued.
But Jake only laughed and continued to inflate.
"I'm breaking out with my fat!", Jake smirked as suddenly, he was now red and inflated.
"I win, Finn! Finn?", Jake asked.
"Jake, stop! That's enough!", Rachel shouted.
Puzzled by her reaction, he found that Finn was beneath him and quickly deflated.
"Finn! Finn, are you okay?!", Jake exclaimed as he rolled Finn over to have the human face him.
Finn turned on his back and began to cough as Rachel caught up.
Jake touched Finn's face in concern.
"I was just messing with ya, dude.", Jake said worriedly.
"I... was just... messing with... you.", Finn assured weakly, poking Jake's forehead.
"Okay, I think that's enough Tough Guy Contest for now.", Rachel spoke as she helped Finn stand up and walked him to the tree's ladder.
"Are you okay?", Jake asked, still concerned.
Finn weakly held his stomach and breathed in.
"Yeah... I'm just going to rest my muscles.", Finn assured.
"At this point, I think that's the best idea right now.", Rachel concurred as she carried him and flew up past the ladder with her hair.
Frankly, Jake was not quite pleased with the result of the 3rd round.
"Oh, dangit, Jake!", Jake cursed to himself, kicking a pink object away before grabbing a cup of juice, unaware that Rachel was just coming back down and about to speak to Jake. "You can't get all out of control like that. Why am I like this?"
"That's... actually what I was gonna ask you.", Rachel spoke up, surprising Jake.
"Rae-Rae?! But weren't you just...?", Jake asked.
"Taking Finn to his bed? Yeah. But it was easy to do pretty quick. Besides, just because I was doing it, doesn't mean I'm out of earshot. So, what's up? You're being hard on yourself as if it wasn't the first time.", Rachel asked.
"It really wasn't. And it wasn't any better, either.", Jake responded.
With an echo of his last two words, Jake flashed back to when he and his brother, Jermaine, were in the forest, both wearing boxing gloves. Evidently, Jermaine was face down in the grass while Jake cried over him.
"Jake, what did you do to your brother?", Jake's father, Joshua asked, seemingly ready to chew him out.
"We're just playin' and then I got out of control! I'm sorry, Dad.", Jake apologized.
But Joshua's reaction was less than what he thought awaited him. In fact, he even patted Jake's head.
"No, son, you did good. Having no self control makes you a tough galoot, like me!", Joshua assured.
Jake, however, was still sad and did not want a repeat of whatever happened to Jermaine.
"But I don't want to hurt nobody!", Jake responded, teary-eyed.
"Well, that's too bad, kid, 'cause you're gonna hurt everybody!", Joshua only responded.
Jake covered his ears and wailed loudly.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!", Jake shouted.
Back in the present, the flashback ended and Jake was still holding the cup, his eyes wide and his hand shaking.
"Dude, that's insane in the membrane...! He should've at least taught you some self-control in situations like that.", Rachel gasped in surprise.
"Yeah... So, whatev', daddy!", Jake spoke out of spite toward his father before he huffed and crossed his arms.
He continued to huff, turn, and then another huff to sit on the couch.
"Jake, if you felt this way, why don't you let your Dad know about it?", Rachel asked.
"Not that easy. Dad died a long time ago.", Jake replied.
"Oh. Sorry to hear that. Or not? Gah, I'm so confused...!", Rachel grunted.
"It doesn't matter. I'm never gonna hurt anybody, ever, starting... now!", Jake spoke to himself.
For a moment, he was just sitting on the couch doing nothing.
"Okay... why you're off not hurting anyone again, I'm gonna do a few errands while Finn recovers.", Rachel said to herself, leaving the room.
At the close up of the window, through it, it showed Rachel leaving via her long, snow white hair.
After some snooping around across in as many people she could find and ask about Jake's brother, Jermaine in which she found that while it may've been the first that most of them ever heard that Jermaine was Jake's brother, Rachel found a few who had clues on his present whereabouts. It was then that Rachel came a cross a little house surrounded by a ring of salt.
"Well, this is the place...", Rachel said to herself.
So, she opened the door and peeped through the edge of the door, finding it vacant.
"Hello?! Anyone in there?!", Rachel asked.
Just then, she overheard some kind of singing nearby.
Hello there
Good morning
Booboo sousa!
"Huh? Is that... singing going on down here?", Rachel asked.
Curious and adventurous as ever, the Ice Princess decided to investigate and went down a hallway that seemed to curve right and lead toward the kitchen. But that was when she heard voices.
"Oooh, when I get outta this, you're gonna get got, dog!", someone snapped as Rachel gasped and hid, peeping out just enough to see a dog walking out.
"Seriously, let it go, Bryce!", the dog sighed as an apparent hatch then closed as soon as he was out.
But when it did, the moment he turned, he saw Rachel peeping out the edge of the wall, which left her surprised as she noticed she saw him. He was also surprised as Rachel landed on her back.
"Sorry about that... Uh..., I came here looking for a Mr. Jermaine?", Rachel explained.
"You're looking right at him. Although I don't remember asking for a delivery.", Jermaine puzzled to himself.
"It's okay. I'm not here to deliver anything. I just need some advice.", Rachel responded.
"I'm not sure I understand. How'd you even get in?", Jermaine only responded.
"The door wasn't locked.", Rachel responded.
"Oh, that's right. You can't be a demon. The ring of salt around the house usually keeps 'em out. Some of them even call me 'Jermaine the Pain' in chants.", Jermaine explained.
"Huh. Anyway, I'm Rachel Petrikov, the Ice Princess/Adventurer extraordinaire. Nice to meet you.", Rachel responded.
"Oh, uh..., hi. So, what kind of advice do you need?", Jermaine asked.
"It's about Jake. He and Finn were having a tough guy contest, but Jake accidentally went too hard on him. Finn's probably crying silently in his pillow right now.", Rachel responded.
As it turns out, Finn was doing just that. Although, all that came out from him were long drawls that follow with each silent sob.
Back in Jermaine's house, Jermaine was showing concern.
"Ooh, boy... I remember when Jake went too rough with me back in the day.", Jermaine said.
"Back when you two were pups, right?", Rachel asked.
"Yeah. But I gotta say, though. He was harder on himself than any of us could be. I don't even blame him one iota for what happened that day. He was just, you know, messin' around.", Jermaine said.
"Yeah. But he still blames himself for what he did, even if it was by accident. What I need to know is how I could help him really take that to heart and just, you know, move on.", Rachel responded.
"Well, there may be a way.", Jermaine said.
"What's that?", Rachel asked.
"Before I could answer that, you don't have to tell me what dream it is, but do you have a constant dream every night?", Jermaine asked.
"Yeah. Why?", Rachel asked.
"I don't exactly know how it works, but I heard that people who have the same consistent dream every night are capable of talking to those who've passed on.", Jermaine explained.
"Hm. That does sound like it would help.", Rachel grinned.
"But that's just a rumor.", Jermaine responded.
"I'll at least give it a try tonight and see if that works. For Jake's sake, it has to work.", Rachel stated.
"Well, there's hopin' as far as Jake is concerned.", Jermaine replied.
Just then, she saw the sun setting.
"Whoop! It's sunset! I gotta head back. Thanks for the help, Jermaine!", Rachel spoke as she then took off and flew in the air via her hair.
"Just remember to tell Jake I said 'hi'!", Jermaine waved.
Later that night, Rachel went inside and noticed Jake leaning against the wood near the chair.
"Hang in there, Jake...", Rachel said to herself before then going to her spot in the bedroom, curling up into a ball with her hair wrapped around her, and going to sleep.
Once asleep, Rachel once again found herself flying through space naked (albeit covered in her hair).
"Okay, now, if I were some kind of dead spirit ascended to the 50th Dead World, where would I be...", Rachel pondered to herself.
Sure enough, Rachel spotted a cloud in space.
"Huh. I wonder...", Rachel said to herself.
Curious, she floated over to it and popped her head out from the floor of it. Once inside, she looked around and saw Joshua just as he was fighting a sort of dream demon.
"There you are...", Rachel said to herself before flying upward until she's inside.
"Joshua, prepare to...!", the dream demon began before he wound up frozen in ice.
"Yowzas!", Joshua exclaimed.
"Ha! Found you!", Rachel smirked, pointing at him.
"Hello. You must be that Ice Princess hanging out with Finn and Jake. How are they doing these days, huh?", Joshua asked.
"How they're doing is not your concern right now. I'm only here because Jake told me about how you messed him up during the forest fight incident when he and Jermaine were kids.", Rachel scolded.
"Oh, is that what this is about? Well, I think you know only half of what Jake told you. While it's true that what he did to Jermaine was an accident, he still did good. But what I was meaning to tell him was that one of these days, he's gonna hurt everybody who is evil.", Joshua explained.
"Wait..., really?", Rachel asked.
"Yep.", Joshua explained.
"Gah...! Of course...! Jake has this stupid habit of interrupting people whenever he thinks that something bad happens that involves him. I should've known that by now...!", Rachel realized.
"Yeah, who could blame him? Anyway, before you head back, there's a favor I need to ask of you.", Joshua requested.
"Sure. What is it?", Rachel asked.
"I need you to do one thing and only one thing. I need you to watch over my boys. They're the greatest heroes in Ooo.", Joshua requested, making Rachel grin.
"I will.", Rachel assured.
The next morning, a bird's crowing sound was heard and the sun came up. Jake was sitting on the floor sipping coffee when both Finn and Rachel arrived in the kitchen, the former yawning.
"'Sup, dude?", Finn greeted.
"Hey, Finn! Glad you're doing okay!", Rachel greeted.
"Phew...! That's a relief. I was afraid I mashed your potatoes too hard last night.", Jake spoke in relief mixed with worry.
"Ha, you didn't mash my potatoes! You didn't even make me cry silently into my pillow last night for- thirty minutes. In fact, you read to go again tough stuff?!", Finn asked.
"Nope, no more, dude.", Jake replied.
"What?!", Finn and Rachel puzzled.
"I never wanna lose control again, man! I'm going totally soft.", Jake responded as his body became blob like.
"You look like a wuss!", Finn commented.
"Finn!", Rachel glared, making Finn a bit nervous.
"Mmm hmm.", Jake nodded.
Then, Rachel sat down next to Jake.
"Jake, it's okay to take a break from any rough-housing once-in-a-while, but you need to keep in mind that there are times when you should lose control for the sake of those you care about. Like, when they're in imminent danger and need to be saved, for example. It's all a matter of finding the right targets to flip out on that won't hurt anyone you care about.", Rachel advised.
"Yeah, I'll... I'll keep that in mind, Rae-Rae.", Jake responded, making Finn laugh a bit.
But just then, both Finn and Rachel noticed the crystal on the table glowing brighter.
"Hey, the crystal is glowing a different color!", Finn said.
"The crystal must be reacting somehow.", Rachel said as she picked it up and turned it.
"By the way, Jake, I paid Jermaine a visit yesterday. He says, 'hiiiiiii'!", Rachel exclaimed near the end of the sentence as the crystal began to glow brighter, causing her to drop it to the ground in surprise with an exclamation.
"Whoa...", Jake commented.
"I think the portal's finally opening.", Rachel guessed.
Suddenly, in an explosion of bright light, the crystal transformed into a portal and three Crystal Guardians stepped through.
"Chip-chap-chop, what's going on?!", Finn puzzled.
"Uh, which one of you is Finn the Human?", the first crystal guardian asked.
"Before we answer that, how about you answer me first. Have you seen Tree Trunks anywhere.", Rachel asked, holding out a picture of her.
Seeing this, the three Crystal Guardians gasped before going into a huddle and murmuring to one another.
"Uh...", Rachel puzzled.
Soon after, the trio turned back to the two.
"Okay. I can tell you guys right now, we definitely saw her.", the crystal guardian responded.
"We love her so much!", the other 2 crystal guardians added.
"Hmm. Now, about your other question...", Rachel began.
"It depends on who's asking, are ya'll good or evil?", Finn asked.
"Uh, we're good.", the first Crystal Guardian replied.
"Oh. I'm Finn.", Finn responded.
"And I'm Rachel.", Rachel added.
"Get 'em!", the first Crystal Guardian shouted before he picked Finn up, making him scream with the others grabbing Rachel by the wrists, making her exclaim.
"Hey, you guys, put my buds down.", Jake spoke, still sitting with his coffee.
"Jake!", Finn and Rachel shouted whilst being taken away through the portal.
"Finn! Rae-Rae!", Jake spoke in worry.
He quickly ran to the portal and jumped through. Once he did, he went through some kind of wormhole and landed smack-dab into Crystal Dimension territory where he looked up and saw both Finn and Rachel in a floating crystal ball as well as the 3 crystal guardians, 2 of which were by its sides while the 3rd was up front.
"Hi.", Rachel spoke to Jake.
"Hey, guys, what happened?", Jake asked.
"I don't know, but we're trapped in this crystal ball, get us out of here!", Finn urged.
"Okay, I'll try to do it using 'controlled conversation'.", Jake assured.
He then rolled over to the prison's doorway.
"Halt.", the 3rd Crystal Guardian urged, stopping Jake before he could get through.
"Hey, man, I'm Jake.", Jake greeted.
"Beat it!", the 3rd Crystal Guardian adamantly ordered.
Jake pursed his lips for a moment before speaking up calmly.
"I wanna know why you took my buddies. And I'm not going to use force to get it out of you.", Jake assured.
"I'm just following orders, bub.", the 3rd Crystal Guardian asked.
"Whose orders?", Jake asked.
"Um, well, it's a secret. But... part of it is, we're turning Finn and Rachel into crystals.", the crystal guardian responded.
"What?!", Rachel exclaimed.
"Jake, you should stop these guys now!", Finn urged.
But the two guardians appeared from both sides of the orb and zapped it, making them scream in agony.
"Ah, man!", Jake groaned.
"Get us out of here!", Rachel shouted in panic, pounding on the prison.
"No, you guys're gonna look awesome in crystal, like us!", the 3rd Crystal Guardian refused.
"Can't we work this out like gents?", Jake asked.
"Get lost!", the 3rd Crystal Guardian only responded, kicking Jake away.
"Jake!", Rachel called in worry.
Jake yelled as he was launched right before he got smashed into a crystal and got a vision with his father speaking to him.
"Jake, lose control, flip out on those guys!", the vision urged.
"No, dad, I gotta control myself!", Jake refused before his body morphed thin and long as he slithered back over to the doorway.
"Control, control, control, con-trol.", Jake sang.
Still surrounded by the two guardians, Finn and Rachel got zapped again, making them yell out.
"Help! My arm!", Finn spoke in worry as his arm got warbly for a moment, but then turned crystal, making Finn yell out.
"Oh, no! My feet!", Rachel groaned before her feet, too, turned crystal, making her yell out in shock.
"Whoa! Okay, okay. I'm hatching a controlled plan.", Jake assured as he then stretched over to the crystal guardian.
"All right, man, move out of the way and let me get my friends.", Jake urged calmly.
"Nope, not doing it.", the guardian refused, shaking his head.
"Then I'll have to move you myself, with my mind.", Jake responded, putting his hands to his head to concentrate intensely.
"You're going to hurt yourself. Stop it.", the 3rd Crystal Guardian advised.
Jake's face gradually reddened. He only stopped once a fart was let out and he then breathed heavily.
"Your time is running out, little dog. Hey, speed it up in there, guys.", the crystal guardian urged as the other 2 were on their phones for a moment before they put them away.
"Okay, turn up the juice, mang.", the first Crystal Guardian spoke, holding out his staff toward one side of the orb.
"Yeah, mang.", the 2nd concurred, doing the same for his end.
They zap Finn and Rachel again. But this time, while Finn's legs sprouted out back edges of crystal, Rachel's arms turned into crystal arms.
"JAKE, HELP!", Finn shouted as Rachel screamed.
"Finn! Rae-Rae!", Jake shouted before pumping up.
"Don't hurt my buddies!", Jake spoke angrily.
But one look at his muscles was enough to make him realize his error as his muscles deflated back into normal arms.
"No, Jake, no. Don't lose control...", Jake spoke in worry ot himself.
Suddenly, another vision of Joshua appeared above him.
"Jake, Jake, come on punch them, Jake, punch everybody. Why not? Come on! Why not?!", Joshua urged.
"No, no punchies! I am in control!", Jake shouted before covering his face and crying.
"Jake...", Rachel spoke in worry.
"Who are you talking to?", the 3rd Crystal Guardian asked.
"Nobody, man, don't look at me!", Jake shouted before he ran away crying.
"Whoa, did you guys see that?", the 3rd Crystal Guardian chuckled.
"Yeah. Yes.", the Crystal Guardians chuckled.
"Don't make fun of him! He's having problems! Everybody has-", Finn began before suddenly, he and Rachel were zapped again, screaming as the crystal shell spread to cover the left side of their bodies, though having yet to reach their heads.
Meanwhile, Jake punched a crystal and put his head against it.
"Stupid-ghost-dad! I'll show him!", Jake vehemently berated before calming down with a sigh.
"Okay. Intimidate them with controlled attack.", Jake said to himself.
Later, the 3rd Crystal Guardian spoke to one of his companions.
"Hurry up, guys, I gotta drop a crystal donk.", the 3rd guardian said.
"Oh, come on, I don't wanna hear that.", the 2nd guardian complained.
"Hey, whatever, man. I ain't ashamed. I got- Whoa, wait... what the?!", the crystal guardian exclaimed as a shadow loomed over him.
That shadow was from Jake, who morphed his body into a tall wall like appearance and spoke in a deep voice very slowly.
"Open up! Feel my controlled attack! Whoooomp psssh! Whoooomp psssh! Oooo oooh psssh.", Jake spoke deeply, lightly punching the guardian's face.
"Stop it!", the crystal guardian spoke, annoyed.
Rachel, too, was annoyed as she sighed.
"So, uh, we're not gonna be dead once we're turned into crystals, are we?", Rachel asked.
"No, of course not. How else are we gonna introduce you two to Quartzion?", the 2nd Crystal Guardian said before he gasped very quickly.
"Ah, donk, I've said too much...! Forget I said anything.", the 2nd guardian spoke in shock.
"Quartzion? Hm...", Rachel puzzled to herself.
4 MINUTES LATER
By that time, Jake was still lightly punching the guardian.
"I'm not hurting you, am I?", Jake asked.
"No, you freak!", the crystal guardian replied, slapping Jake's hand away.
"Well, there's a lot more where that came from! So you best tell me why you're turning Finn and Rae-Rae into crystals.", Jake urged in a deep voice.
"Or what, you'll touch me?", the Crystal Guardian asked.
"So, help me I will touch you...", Jake began.
But suddenly, Finn and Rachel were zapped again, making them scream as their bodies were now completely covered in crystal.
"JAKE!", Finn screamed in pain.
"AHH! HELP!", Rachel screamed.
"Finn, Rae-Rae, oh, no!", Jake panicked in horror.
But the Crystal Guardian just shoves him back slightly.
"Cut it out. They look good.", the Crystal Guardian only responded as meanwhile, the crystallizations were now completing themselves.
"OUR BODIES!", Finn and Rachel shouted as they turned completely crystal.
Soon after, the prison popped and they fell to the ground.
"NOOO, MY BUDS!", Jake shouted before shrinking down with a groan.
In trying to use controlled methods of resolving the situation, he had failed at the one thing he came here to do: rescue Finn and Rachel! And now..., that failure's sure to haunt him.
"Ah, let him in. He can't do nothing now.", the 2nd Crystal Guardian assured.
Helpless to do anything else, Jake ran over to the crystallized Finn and Rachel as the 3rd Crystal Guardian allowed him entry, not that it matters anymore. For as long as he could remember, he and Finn were best friends. As for Rachel, he may've been only friends with her for weeks, but the fact he failed to save Finn, let alone Rachel hit him just as hard.
"I'm sorry, Finn, Rae-Rae... I'm super lame. And now..., you're dead.", Jake whimpered as he shed tears.
"Wait, what? What's he talking about?", the 1st Crystal Guardian puzzled before the 2nd just shrugged.
"And that's enough of that. We gotta take those 2 to...", the 3rd crystal guardian spoke, stepping forward and about to take the two crystallized bodies.
But before he could, Jake suddenly grabbed the wrist that was reaching for them. And what's more, he started to tighten his grip in rising anger, even to a point where the arm started to crack.
"Ahh! What are you trying to do, crush me?", the 3rd Crystal Guardian asked in shock.
In response, Jake only panted angrily and turned toward him, his eyes now full of fury (not to mention undulating in a black and white pattern) before he turned twice as big as he was as a wall moments earlier. Jake even grew muscles all over. After the failure to save his friends he had to endure, he was DONE holding back!
"Whoa, wh... what the...?!", the 3rd Crystal Guardian began.
"I'M GONNA KILL YOU!", Jake threatened before roaring as he swung the Crystal Guardian right towards the wall and smashed him against the wall, shattering him into pieces and rendering him as just a head.
"Yabba dabba dabba dabba.", the 3rd Crystal Guardian spoke.
The other 2 were flabbergasted..., no, TERRIFIED by Jake's rage as they gasped.
"We done donked up!", the 2nd Crystal Guardian panicked.
Jake roared and showed no hesitation in advancing toward them.
"GIVE ME BACK MY BROTHER!", Jake roared in a monstrous tone.
"Hurry, mang!", the 2nd Crystal Guardian panicked.
He and his partner were able to prep their staffs in time and zap him, but all that did was anger the normally complacent dog to the point that he garbled in a blind rage, grabbed him by his head and ground his gut against the wall while running alongside it before smashing him into pieces, too.
"Aw, man. And I was only a few days away from retirement...", the crystal guardian groaned.
Jake roared angrily as he proceeded to tower above the last remaining Crystal Guardian with a garble. But as he did so, a voice called out to him.
"Jake! You have to stop!", Rachel's voice called out.
But Jake only Roared angrily with a vicious turn and a leer, paralyzing Rachel with fear.
"Oh, yowsers, you're scary!", Rachel spoke quickly.
But seeing this quickly replaced Jake's fury with confusion and surprise.
"Wha, huh?! Finn! Rae-Rae! You're both alive?!", Jake exclaimed as his eyes were now back to a normal black irises with white eyes.
"We're not dead, we're just all crystal stiff.", Finn explained.
"Oh.", Jake said in relief.
"And those Crystal Guardians you smashed are donked up enough as is.", Rachel added before Jake saw the damage he did when he was angry just now.
"Oh, great. Now, I'm a baseball.", the 3rd Crystal Guardian groaned.
"Oh, uh..., Sorry! You should put some ice on that!", Jake called as he shrank back to normal.
"I don't think they use ice.", Rachel commented.
"Get your hands off my lover! AND my friend!", a familiar voice called out.
"Huh?! Who said that?", Rachel puzzled.
"That voice.", Jake spoke, looking toward where the voice came from.
"It sounds like-", Finn began.
Who should fly up toward them but a gigantic, pale-looking, crystal-eyed, ear-flapping Tree Trunks? But something wasn't right about her.
"Yes, Finn, Rachel, it's me, Tree Trunks. But in this world I am known as Quartzion the Crystal Queen.", Tree Trunks as Jake dragged Finn and Rachel closer toward her for a better look.
"Tree Trunks?!", Rachel exclaimed.
"Oh, my grosh! You're alive!", Finn spoke excitedly.
"Oh, Tree Trunks, I knew you were alive!", Rachel beamed sweetly.
"Oh, I'm more than alive, Rachel. After I ate that Crystal Apple in the Scary Dark Forest, I was transported to this crystal dimension where I became ruler of the crystal men. And the crystal men are all in love with me.", Tree Trunks explained as it showed Tree Trunks eating the Crystal Gem Apple before being sent to the Crystal Dimension and towering above said Crystal Men, who, at present, were now in pieces (2 out of 3 of them, at least), thanks to Jake's berserker rage moments earlier.
Nevertheless, all three Crystal Guardians professed their love to her.
"Love you Quartzion!", the 3rd Crystal Guardian spoke.
"Quartzion, I love you!", the 1st Crystal Guardian added.
"Quartzion, we love you!", the 2nd Crystal Guardian added.
"Yes, yes, I know. But you love... is, shall we say, in pieces.", Tree Trunks grinned evilly.
Suddenly, her eyes glowed and, from her trunk, a beam zapped the already crumbled guardians into dust, earning Rachel, Finn, and Jake's horrified gasps.
"You just turned them to dust?! It would've been enough to leave them as pieces!", Rachel exclaimed.
"I wanted you and Rachel, Finn, so you could both be transformed into my sexy crystal friend and king.", Tree Trunks smirked.
"Tree Trunks! You just officially went too far!", Rachel snapped.
"You've gone bananas with crystal power!", Finn scolded.
"Finn, it's not sexy for a king to call his queen bananas!", Tree Trunks spoke angrily.
In retaliation, she unleashed a beam of light that turned the surroundings into dust, but Jake grabbed both Finn and Rachel while running for cover.
"Jake, you totally gotta stop her!", Finn urged.
"And fast!", Rachel added.
"I'll try, guys. But I'm still figuring out my bizz.", Jake responded, cautious due to how he lost it moments ago, before stretching his legs to reach her height.
"Here I come, Tree Trunks! Taste my gentle rubs!", Jake spoke, gently rubbing her trunk.
But Tree Trunks was not pleased.
"Whoa, there. Don't you put your junk on my trunk!", Tree Trunks glared as he then wrapped Jake up.
"Go, Jake, go!", Finn cheered.
"You can take her!", Rachel added.
"She's too sassy and powerful!", Jake only responded before he got thrown at a crystal.
Jake had another vision of Joshua, but this time, he brought some company.
"Jake, Jake, I brought someone here to see you. It's your brother.", Joshua assured as he appeared from above like last time, scooting Jermaine closer to him.
"Jermaine?! Are you dead?", Jake asked in worry.
"Nah, man. We're just dreamin' at the same time.", Jermaine responded with a grin.
"Oh, I'm sorry about that time I beat you up.", Jake apologized.
"Yo, that was an accident. I knew you were just horsin' off! And this time was no exception. Rae-Rae told me about what happened last night. She said she wanted to do something to help you out of your rut.", Jermaine explained.
"It's true.", Rachel responded.
"Wait, are you seein' this too?", Jake asked.
"Not important right now! But what is important is what I'm about to ask you. Remember what I told you before this whole mess started?", Rachel asked.
"Well, yeah... But Dad, you said I'm gonna hurt everybody!", Jake spoke in confusion.
"Yeah, every-bod-y.", Joshua said.
"I don't know, Dad. That doesn't really help me.", Jake responded, still dumbfounded.
"Everybody who is evil, Jake. Let me finish next time, hm, yeah?", Joshua advised.
"Oh. Well, then I'm over it, then!", Jake smirked before roaring as he charged back into battle.
"Jake, kick Tree Trunks in the tummy! She's probably still got that crystal gem apple inside her!", Finn urged.
"And whatever you do, don't hit her anywhere else! We just need to get the apple out of her!", Rachel added.
"That must be giving her all her powers!", Jake guessed.
"Marry me, Finn. We can snuggle through time and space; and kiss each other in an alternate dimensional plane.", Tree Trunks beamed as Jake morphed his foot into a giant boot.
"Hu-yah!", Jake exclaimed as he kicked Tree Trunks in the stomach, and more than that, made her spit out the Crystal Gem Apple, which then turned into a portal.
"Oh, dear.", Tree Trunks spoke in worry as she then started to shrink down to normal size just as Finn and Rachel busted out of their crystal bodies and cheered with laughter.
"TT, you're back.", Jake grinned.
"Oh, Jake, I was behaving so inappropriately. I'm so embarrassed.", Tree Trunks blushed.
"Oh shush, Tree Trunks, if I had a penny for every time someone went crazy hopped up on magic energy... I'd be Abraham Lincoln!", Jake grinned after pausing and looking back for a moment.
"Tree Trunks, you're okay!", Rachel grinned.
"Finn! Rae-Rae!", Jake and Tree Trunks spoke in unison.
"I'm okay, toooo!", Finn grinned as he then did a cartwheel.
"Tree Trunks, why did you do all this, anyway?", Rachel asked.
"Oh, Finn, Rachel, I was trapped here for so long and all I could think about was the both of you and how you're both so nice to me and I, I just wanted to say... I think... you're both cute and I like you two.", Tree Trunks grinned.
"Okay, okay, let's go.", Finn blushed.
"Yeah. This adventure's been really taxing and I could use some relaxation right about now...", Rachel yawned.
"Finn, Rachel, when we get home, it's apple pie time.", Tree Trunks grinned.
"Ooooh!", Finn spoke eagerly before Rachel picked Tree Trunks up.
"I'm gonna eat all the apple pie before you two even get here!", Rachel spoke before she jumped through the portal with Tree Trunks, who giggled.
"NOOOOOOOOO!", Finn and Jake exclaimed in playful unison before jumping in after her.
"Apple pie in the oven, Tell me you can taste lovin'", Tree Trunks sang in auto-tune.
