Welcome back to the story. I hope you've all had a wonder Valentine's Day and spent your time with whomever you love as well! Sorry for the chapter being a few hours late. Just got done finishing some paperwork out for the army. So with that being said, enjoy the read!
Chapter 6: Step 0: Chakra Control
Last time on Naruto: The Darkness Within,
Naruto met up with Sasuke after his morning training session. He asked Sasuke where he could find Rock Lee, the Uchiha didn't know and Naruto explained he was training with a Legendary Sannin & his heritage. Sasuke asked if he could join the blonde in the training. Sasuke has his own motives and Naruto allows the boy to join him. The meet up with Jiraiya who was busy peeping, I mean 'research', on the Kunoichis in the hot springs. Naruto and Sasuke blow his cover up and the Kunoichis chase the trio. Jiraiya abandoned the pair of soon to be Genins and the boys eventually went to Sasuke's house. The boys eventually find Jiraiya and prank him severely. Jiraiya agrees to actually train them this time around with a killer technique! What is this technique? A man and a creature are moving forward their plans. What dastardly plans do they have in store for us? FIND OUT NOW!
"You called me Hokage-Sama?" A man asked the elderly Hokage.
"Yes, I'm able to tell you who your students will be in in two months. You will have Team Seven with the members being: Sakura Haruno, Sasuke Uchiha, and Naruto Uzumaki, now known as Naruto Namikaze." Hiruzen told his Jonin.
"Namikaze? So, Naruto knows his heritage? This could be interesting. I've seen him around the village multiple times just training. I'm curious to see where Sensei's son as gotten to." The Fourth's former student said.
"Yes, I think you'll be surprised Kakashi, Naruto has grown quite fast in such a small time." Hiruzen said. He then took a serious face. "I'm worried about him. He's becoming smarter and powerful quick. Some people will see him as an asset to use." Sarutobi stated.
"I see, you're worried about a war hawk then." Kakashi figured. Danzo tried to get Kakashi on his side back in the day too. Just like he tried with Minato and Itachi too. Naruto will certainly be on that list.
"Yes, it would appear my former teammate has taken a liking to Naruto. He's given the boy scrolls to study every 3 months. I also assume he got Minato's letter to give to Naruto too. I fear he is trying to turn Naruto against me in particular. I have Jiraiya helping Sasuke and him in training as well." Hiruzen said.
"I'll see to it that no one gets their hands on them both Lord Hokage." Kakashi said as he bowed. Hiruzen nodded and dismissed Kakashi. Hiruzen pulled his orb out to see what Naruto was up to.
With Naruto
"...and this move is called the Rasengan?" Naruto asked Jiraiya. Sasuke waited for their new Sensei to answer.
"Yes. But before you can even start the training on the Rasengan you must first be able to use chakra to climb trees and walk on water. After that we will get down to the Rasengan training." Jiraiya spoke to the two soon to be genins.
"Master Jiraiya, how do we climb trees with chakra?" Sasuke asked.
"I'll teach him Sensei," Naruto said. "So basically you have to apply chakra to your feet and stick it to the tree if you don't stick you're using to little and if you cause and explosion it's too much." Naruto explained. Naruto then demonstrated how to do it. Sasuke nodded and began to practice. Naruto looked over to Jiraiya. "So, can I walk on the water now?" Jiraiya looked at the boy and then at the hard working Uchiha.
"No, I want you to be able to run on this tree for three hours going up and down. Once you and Sasuke both master this you'll spar. After that then you will both do water walking. If you need me go to the Hokage's office. See ya!" Jiraiya said. Naruto huffed and Sasuke snickered at Naruto who wanted to get ahead.
Sasuke did as Naruto said while Naruto ran up and down another Tree. Sasuke kept getting blown off the tree. 'Dammit! I need to get this down! If I don't get this down how can I learn the Rasengan and then kill Him!' Sasuke thought to himself in a fit of rage.
"You're letting your emotions get the better of you. I figured the last loyal Uchiha would be better than this." A man said. Sasuke looked at the man in anger.
"Yeah! What's it too you old man?!" Sasuke yelled. Naruto jumped out the tree and recognized the old man.
"Oh, Sasuke this is council member Danzo Shimura. He was teammates with Lord Third in the second shinobi war. He's given me great tips to get stronger." Naruto explained.
"Not only have I help trained Naruto some, I even help with the training of Copy Ninja Kakashi Hatake and the traitor Itachi Uchiha." Danzo said. Sasuke looked up at the man Danzo.
"Y-yo-you helped train him?" Sasuke asked dumbfounded. Danzo simply nodded.
"I've taken great interest in Naruto here and want to help him get stronger. Perhaps if you master this exercise today and get to the sparring part with Naruto I'll give you some jutsu I seen former Uchiha use in war." Danzo said as he began to walk off.
Sasuke got it in gear and went back up to the tree. Naruto wondered what Danzo was up to as he kept running up and down the tree he was on. Naruto then remembered he had to find Rock Lee. "Oh, Sasuke I'll be right back. If the old perv gets here before me just have him find me. I'll be trying to find that genin I was telling you about yesterday." Sasuke nodded at the blonde and Naruto walked off.
Naruto kept walking and bumped into another man. Naruto looked up at the man and this was the same man he had bumped into a long while ago. "You really need to stop reading these books while walking ya know!" Naruto said with an attitude.
"Hm, did you say something?" The man said as he looked down. "Oh, it's you Naruto. How have you been?" The man said.
"I've been well. What's your name again?" Naruto asked while scratching the back of his head.
"Oh, that's right I never got the time to give you my name. It's Kakashi Hatake." Kakashi said with an eye smile.
"Oh you're one of the other guys Lord Danzo help trained?" Naruto asked. Kakashi went wide eyed at this.
'How would Naruto know about my history in anbu?' Kakashi thought. "Hmm, I do remember something like that. So tell me, what are you doing out here?" Kakashi asked.
"I'm looking for a bushy eyebrow genin to help me with this technique while I wait for my training partner to finish his exercise." Naruto said. Kakashi shivered at the thought of Gai and Lee turning Naruto into one of them.
"I don't have any plans today. What technique is it you're trying to learn?" The masked ninja asked.
"Well some other genin told me it's called the after image technique. He suggested I learn that because I have too much chakra for a clone." Naruto said. "I'm trying to graduate from the academy in a few months but I can perform the clone jutsu." Naruto further explained.
"I know a technique that's better than that. Let's go somewhere a little less crowded." Kakashi said as he started to walk with his book in his hand again. Naruto followed him.
"Hey Kakashi, what is this technique called?" Naruto asked while walking beside the man.
"Hmm, oh it's called the Shadow Clone Jutsu. It's usually a quote on quote forbidden Jutsu due to how much chakra you need to use it but you have the most chakra in the entire village so, you need something like this." Kakashi stated.
"Shadow clone Jutsu?" Naruto asked. He's never heard of such a clone jutsu.
"Yeah, basically they are solid clones who can fight or aid you in battle. Very useful." Kakashi said while turning a page.
The pair of males kept walking until they reached a training ground. Kakashi put his book away and Naruto awaited instructions. "Okay Naruto, to perform a Kage Bushin no Jutsu(Shadow Clone), you need to visualize another you. Once you're done visualizing you will use the plus sign hand sign. Once you do that you should be able to create the clone." Kakashi explained while he demonstrated the jutsu.
Naruto heard a poof and seen a replica of Kakashi. The copy of the copy ninja waved and said hello. Naruto looked at the jutsu with awe. He started to visualize himself. Naruto then made the hand sign that Kakashi showed him.
Naruto heard a pop of smoke and looked to see three other versions of himself. He observed them and they looked back.
"Wow we really did it?" One of the Naruto's said. Another Naruto nodded happily and the final Naruto asked a question. "Can we spar like this or not Kakashi?"
Kakashi looked at the boys and said, "No not really. Shadow clones last for one attack and they disappear from existence." Kakashi then kicked one of the clones to show what he meant.
"You didn't have to kick us ya know." One for the Naruto's said. Kakashi gave an eye smile at the set of triplets.
"Yeah, but I felt like it. Anyways do what you want with the jutsu. If you need any help with something else fell free to ask me anything." Kakashi told the boys. Then Kakashi disappeared leaving swirling leaves behind.
"He's gotta teach us that!" Naruto said to his clones. Naruto dispelled the clones and went back to where Jiraiya had them training.
In Sunagakure(Hidden Sand Village)
"...so you ssee Lord Kazekage, we would both benefit thiss endeavor." A man told the leader of Sunagakure. The leader sat in his chair and looked at the man he was talking with.
"So, you get to kill the Third Hokage and we should get our missions back from the Wind Daimyo. But what of the other great nations such as Iwagakure(Hidden Stone Village) or Kumogakure(Hidden Cloud Village)? Surely they would either be on board or be there to pick up the scraps of us or them." The Fourth Kazekage pointed out.
"Hmm, well the Raikage (Lightning shadow; Leader of Kumo) won't be much of an issssue. He has his own worriess right now and I'll persssonally talk with the old fool Onoki." The man stated.
"Alright. We will meet again roughly eight months from now." The Kazekage said. He put his hand out and the man he was conversing with shook his hand. Too bad for them someone or something was listening.
Middle of Nowhere
"Ah, Zetsu you've arrived. I was waiting for you." The man from the previous chapter said to the plant like being.
"YeS wE'vE rEtUrnED. YOur SUSpicIons were CoRReCT. IN rOuGhLy eIgHt MONthS tHeRe wILL be TWo JinchURiKis in KoNOha. ThE KYUbi aNd The ICHibi(one tails) wILL be THeRe, as WELL aS tHe TrAiToR." Zetsu stated.
"Alright then. I will talk with Pain. You can head over to another spot to spy." The man said as he left this reality with a space-time ninjutsu. The plant like being sunk into the ground and disappeared.
The masked man appeared in a rainy village. "Nagato, we have things to discuss." The man said to someone with ripple pattern eyes sitting in a chair with many rods in his body.
"What is it that you need, Madara?" The man named Nagato asked.
"The One tails and Nine Tails will both be in Konoha in eight months. Work your plans to exclude Itachi and Kisame. They will head into Konoha and retrieve the beast." Madara ordered Nagato.
Nagato sucked his teeth. "It's far to early for the Nine Tails don't you think? We can't even seal it yet." The man rebuttal.
"Ah yes, but the traitor of our organization will be there as well." Madara pointed out. Nagato's eyes widen.
"No, we shouldn't intervene and expose ourselves yet. I'll assign Itachi and Kisame to that general area but they are not to enter the village. If they catch that snake when he leaves they can kill him and we will be rid of the traitor. Maybe after that they can capture the One Tails." Nagato stated intensely to Madara.
"Remember who is in charge here Nagato. I'll accept this act of defiance this time. Next time it will be detrimental to your health." Madara said before he used his jutsu to leave the area.
Back in Konoha
"So, you finally came back dope." Sasuke stated as Naruto arrived on scene. Jiraiya was taking a nap on a tree while the two conversed.
"Yeah, I didn't find who I was supposed to. Anyways you got tree walking down pact?" Naruto asked the last Uchiha. Sasuke nodded at Naruto. "Okay good. Let's wake this perv up and then spar." Naruto said. Both the boys went up to Jiraiya and woke him up.
"What do you brats want?" Jiraiya asked sluggishly while rubbing his eyes.
"We're going to spar and then you will show us water walking." Naruto said to his teacher.
"Hmm, sure thing kid. Wake me in five again." Jiraiya said. Sasuke sweat dropped at the Sannin's actions.
Naruto and Sasuke sparred for roughly ten minutes. Then proceeded to wake Jiraiya up again. Jiraiya stirred and not wanting to wake up. Naruto then thought of his most diabolical prank for the man. Naruto put his hands in the ram sign and a poof of smoke was seen.
Sasuke stood in shock at what he saw. He saw Naruto transform into a female version of himself with blonde pig tails, voluptuous body and most importantly naked.
"Oh, Lord Jiraiya~! Wakey wakey~! You don't want me to be alone do you~?" 'She' spoke in a seductive manner.
Jiraiya rubbed his eyes and seen the girl in front of him! Jiraiya went flying as his nose bleed like a waterfall sending him far! Naruto was speechless at what he saw along with Sasuke.
"Great going! Now we got to go find him." Sasuke said as he started to stomp off.
"Not my fault he can't control himself. He said he would train us and he hasn't done jack shit for us." Naruto said has he caught up to Sasuke. Sasuke glanced at him with a slight blush.
"Idiot can you change back?" Sasuke asked while the two ran.
"Oops! Forgot I was like this!" Naruto said as he transformed back. "I think I'll call this the Sexy Jutsu!" Naruto said. Sasuke just gave his usual grunt. The two kept running until they seen Jiraiya trying to get up.
"Jiraiya-Sensei are you okay?" Asked Naruto. Jiraiya had a bump on his head from landing on it.
"W-w-who was that incredibly beautiful girl?" He managed to get out. Sasuke face palmed as his and Naruto's new Sensei.
"That would be Naruto. He dubs it his 'Sexy Jutsu.'" Sasuke said mockingly. Naruto furiously glares at Sasuke for him mocking his jutsu.
Jiraiya was flabbergasted at what he heard. "You mean Naruto was that incredible sexy girl?" He asked. Naruto and Sasuke just nodded. "Okay, one never do that again. Two are you guys ready for the water walking exercise?" Jiraiya asked. The two nodded again.
Jiraiya motioned them to come with him as they approached a river. "Okay, so this is just like tree walking except you'll be doing it on top of water. If you both struggle we will go to the hot springs where it's hotter water than you're use too." Jiraiya said. He activated his chakra on his feet and started to walk on the water. "So, first you got to position your chakra on your feet. Second, you must change your chakra to match that of the current. And third I want you both to master this so you can learn this jutsu," Jiraiya said now making a Rasengan. "This is the Fourth Hokage's Jutsu. He taught it to me after he learnt the technique himself." Jiraiya stated.
The two boys fascinatingly watched the glowing blue orb spin rapidly. "That is so cool!" Naruto said. He read up on his father's jutsu but this was nothing like they described it.
'This is the move I could learn to defeat him!' Sasuke thought to himself. Jiraiya noticed Sasuke's face and knew it was one that wanted revenge.
'This kid probably wants to kill Itachi Uchiha. And getting power is all he is concerned about. Maybe I can help him out some.' Jiraiya thinks to himself. Naruto applied the chakra to his feet and began to walk on the water. The first step and he sank.
"WHAT THE HELL! THIS WATER IS COLD!" Naruto shouted. Naruto knew this would be heard for him as his massive chakra reserves would make it difficult to control the chakra. Sasuke snickered at Naruto's misfortunes until he is pushed into the river himself. Sasuke quickly tries to apply chakra to his feet to stop himself from falling and succeeds.
"There you go Uchiha. Now walk on the water." Jiraiya said. Sasuke took a step and fell like Naruto had done. Naruto started to laugh at this and Jiraiya joined him in laughing.
"The water is never the same. The reason you both fell in was due to you both not changing ur chakra needed to stay on top. Try it again. I'll be back. I got to buy some materials for the first step of the Rasengan." Jiraiya said before he left.
Naruto and Sasuke attempted to complete the training exercise but failed to get it. They got dropped in multiple times.
"ARGH! This is annoying!" Naruto yelled frustratedly. Sasuke was doing a lot better than Naruto but still struggling as well.
"Listen Naruto, it's like the tree walking when you were running while getting closer to the top as the top is lightly. Go about it like that. This is what I have been doing." Sasuke said. Sasuke was proud he was doing better than Naruto. He seen Naruto grow leaps and bounds ahead of him and now he's getting better before Naruto.
"Alright, I'll try it then." Naruto said. He got back on the water and started to change the flow of his chakra to match the water's current. The furthest he got was ten steps. The goal was to cross the river and walk back. Naruto did what Sasuke told him to do.
Naruto took step after step on the water.
'I'm doing it. I'm actually doing it!' Naruto thought to himself. He made it across. Sasuke looked in shock and tried it again. He also made it across successful. Now both boys had to cross back. Each step they make the more sure of themselves they were.
Jiraiya came back and seen their progress and decided to waste some of the balloons by throwing it at the pair of soon to be genins. Jiraiya used six balloons, three for each boy. He hit them and made them fall in water.
"What was that for you old pervert?" Naruto asked. Sasuke looked off to the distance. He wasn't too happy about being hit with water balloons. Jiraiya laughed at the pair.
"Here this is what you got to do. You have to make the balloon pop by spinning the water on the inside with your chakra. You mustn't move your hands to make the water inside spin. Eventually it'll pop when done correctly. This took Minato three years to develop and you guys will master it before becoming genins or I won't help you get stronger down the line. Do I make myself clear?" Jiraiya asked.
The two boys both said, "Yessir!" A bug in a bush left the scene. And we cut to an underground bunker.
Underground Bunker
"What is it you have brought to me Torune?" Danzo asked his subordinate.
"Jiraiya of the Sannin is teaching Naruto and Sasuke the Fourth's Rasengan Jutsu. I believe the two will have the full jutsu mastered before graduation at the academy in two months." The Aburame man said. "My insects have told me that they mastered water walking today as well. Jiraiya has taken a liking to the two as well as Kakashi for Naruto." Torune finished.
"kakashi and Jiraiya, huh? Okay I'll handle those two in the near future. You're dismissed." Danzo ordered.
A lot has happened in this chapter and in the next chapter they will master the Rasengan and Graduate from the academy because I'm not gonna lie I can't continue writing them not doing ninja stuff lol. Anyways if you guys want any ships done now is the time to comment. It doesn't really affect the story too much but always interesting to have that dash of romance in the story. I've gotten a few dms for Tayuya, Temari, and Ino for Naruto. Anyways business picks up next week with Chapter 7: Team 7 Formation! I'll see you all in the next one.
