Alright everyone welcome back to the series, this one will be the side character story. So if you're just here for the main plot you don't need to read this one. I recommend you read it though as it may provide more insight on these characters later on. I write this SCS to give me a mental break from the story and recompose myself as well. A lot of writers will burn themselves out writing their stories and this just happens to provide me with the opportunity to write a quick, somewhat plot driven, and goofy story. The last one we saw a few members of the Konoha 9 this time we see Itachi Uchiha. Also, some of you are wondering when and how Naruto got a hold of Minato's Kunai. Well, that will be answered in the next one so stay tuned. With that being said let's get into it. Enjoy the Read!
Chapter 9: Side Character Stories pt 2
The Weasal's Movement
Outskirts of Fire Country
Two men stand over a pile of dead bodies and injured men that were close to knocking on Death's door. This was the doing of one man. His partner did not like to kill anyone if he could avoid it. This tall blue shark like man, however, enjoyed a little fun as he calls it. The shark like being was holding the last man free of major injuries.
"Kisame, let's go." A man called out to the blue man. Kisame was holding a random man with countless body parts all around.
"I hate when you get like this. Can I just kill this last guy?" Kisame asked still holding the man who looked like they shit themselves.
"No Kisame. For a legendary swordsmen of the Mist, you're incredible child like." The man told his blue skinned partner as he started to walk away.
"Aw, Itachi that just hurts, but fine." Kisame said dropping the man. He looked back at the man he let go, "Remember, you didn't see me or him. Copy?" Kisame asked. The victim nodded his head eagerly and scrammed away. Kisame started to catch up to his teammate. "So, we are going after your target?" Kisame asked his raven hair partner.
"No, I'm only here to observe Kisame. You will have to sit in this area as your chakra will get the attention of every sensor in Konoha." Itachi stated. Kisame understood his partner's reasonings, but he didn't like it very much. Kisame was eager to get his hands on some ninjas that come from the strongest village in the world.
"You're scared of the Nine Tails Jinchuriki this much? Couldn't you just use your eye Jutsu and put him under?" Kisame asked, hoping to finally get an emotion out of his usually stoic partner.
"Hmm, no. Since you're not so scarred of Tailed Beasts, let's go to the Kiri instead. I'm sure you'd love to take Sasori's target down, the Three Tails and avenge your village." Itachi said looking at his partner now.
Kisame remembered the horror he witness as the Jinchuriki Mizukage committed after he snapped. "You know Itachi, I hate you sometime." Kisame said. 'I'm not scared of that stupid turtle beast.'
"My target is the Nine Tails after all. The strongest of the Tailed Beast. I want to see how far he's come since I last saw him over four years ago." Itachi said. 'After all, he's the son of the Fourth Hokage. I'm sure he's grown strong. I just hope he's grown strong enough to hold Kisame back in a few months' Itachi thought to himself. Pain, the leader of the Akatsuki organization, told them that Itachi was to capture the Nine Tails in roughly six months' time. Itachi wasn't ready for this, but he had to tell the Third Hokage. Using this "scouting" mission as a ploy to do so. "Plus, I wouldn't be able to get close to him. The village elders watch over him pretty constantly. I'll be back by the end of the night. Try not to get in any trouble." Itachi told his partner as he walked away.
'I wonder what goes through his head sometimes.' Kisame thinks to himself.
Itachi headed in the direction of his village. 'I wonder how everything's been. Are you stronger now Sasuke? Did I make the right choices? Did Danzo keep my promise?Is the rumor of the Toad Sage training two students true?' Itachi thought to himself. There was so much going on that he didn't account for. 'Orochimaru is up to something. That much was said by Madara to me before Kisame and I left the hideout. I knew I shouldv'e killed him all those years ago. What are your intentions Orochimaru?' After walking for an hour, he was interrupted.
"What's a traitor of Konoha doing out here?" A man said. Itachi stopped walking and didn't open his eyes. Itachi recognized the voice and didn't say nothing. After a brief silence, the man that found Itachi decided to speak. "Do you have more information on the Akatsuki?" The man asked.
"I do, but it'll be heard only by the Third Hokage's ears as I have questions for him." Itachi answered the man. "I heard you was originally in the Land of Whirlpools. Why are you here now, Jiraiya?" Itachi asked.
"Ha, always so smart. Well, I finished up a little early and planned to return to the village. However, on my way back, I sensed your partner's large Chakra and came in this direction instead." Jiraiya explained. Itachi nodded and started asking Jiraiya his questions.
"You're training two student I hear." Itachi said. Jiraiya was baffled how Itachi heard of this. "You have a spy in the ranks of Konoha. He's a spy of Akatsuki's Sasori of the Red Sand. I don't know his name." Itachi stated.
"Hmm, that's troubling to hear. I'll look into it when I get back into the village. And I do have two new students. Naruto Namikaze and your little brother, Sasuke." Jiraiya said. Itachi smiled at this news.
'Naruto Namikaze? Are the village elders allowing him to finally know the truth? That seems convient.' Itachi thought to himself. "I'm glad to hear that you are helping my foolish little brother. That means when the time is right, he will come for me." Itachi stated before he coughed.
"You know, you don't have to go through with this. I'm sure you can return to the village. Sasuke would need time to understand, but we could use you back." Jiraiya told the sick man. They both started jumping from tree branches.
"Jiraiya, as much as I'd love to do that, I can't. I'm already dying as is. My ocular dojutsu is expiring as well, and the Akatsuki would destroy Konoha. My mission will be fulfilled by Sasuke in the end." Itachi stated. Jiraiya knew this was going to be his answer.
"Well, I heard of a special herb that cures any illness or handicap. If you ever needed it, it would be located in the Land of Hearts." Jiraiya told him. "We should split up now however." The two men spaced apart and headed to the same place.
Konoha, Late night
"Danzo, I've warned you to avoid both Naruto and Sasuke both. Yet you go behind my back to meet with Naruto after his first day as a Genin. Give me one reason why I shouldn't throw you in jail for treason." The elderly Hokage lectured to his old war buddy. This meeting was going on for the last five minutes.
"Hiruzen, I respect you, even if it's just a tad bit, but I can take both boys to the next level. They would make Madara and Hashirama look like child's play." Danzo answered. "Naruto has improved unlike any shinobi in history within a year. He's already found out his heritage and started some training under Jiraiya and Kakashi Hatake. With me in there as well, he would surpass everyone, even his father! He would achieve levels of power unheard of if he mastered the Kyubi." Danzo ranted.
"I've told you not to interfere with the way I have MY ninjas train. Naruto is a person, not a weapon." Hiruzen yelled.
"And YOU said you said you would prepare the Jinchuriki in case of a threat like the Uchiha clan incident! Yet, it was my great intellect that preserved the village!" Danzo said. Danzo was stripped of his rank, lost his Root Anbu, and had to serve a probation period of 3 years after forcing an anbu member to exterminate the Uchiha clan.
"Indeed, I did. For now, on if Naruto tells me you've interacted with him, and I will question him, you'll be hung for treason!" Hiruzen warned Danzo. "Leave me at once!" He ordered the mummy.
Once Danzo had left Hiruzen smoked his piped and started filling out paperwork. He was glad that Naruto's team had did their first mission as a success. He finished up for the night and was about to hang his hat when he heard the window open. He tried to sense who it was.
"Hello, Lord Third." The man called out. Hiruzen recognized the voice of the intruder and spun around. He seen that man and smiled. Hiruzen put up security seals to avoid having his guest spotted by anyone.
"Itachi, what brings you by?" Hiruzen asked. Hiruzen knew what this was about.
"The Akatsuki have moved their plans up. My partner, Kisame and myself will arrive in six months' time. Our targets have been marked as Jinchuriki only, but to erase any potential threats to the organization." Itachi stated as Hiruzen started to think. "The man responsible for the Nine Tails attack thirteen years ago hasn't made his presence known to the other ninja in the organization yet either." Itachi added. Hiruzen knew this was bad. Itachi had informed him of this group of 10 S rank ninja who were combining their efforts to change the world.
"Do you believe he is truly Madara?" Hiruzen asked. Hiruzen had hoped it wasn't true. He's been hoping Itachi could uncover the man's true identity and kill him.
"No, I can't confirm that either though. He has an extreme amount of knowledge of the Village himself, as if he helped design it, but there are also times he makes subtle things that Madara wouldn't do. Going off of Uchiha history books and what you've said of Madara, this man shouldn't be Madara." Itachi stated. Hiruzen released the sigh of relief.
"That's good to hear, but bad at the same time. You must uncover his identity for us to stop him." Hiruzen said. Itachi nodded.
"That brings me to the next thing we have to discuss." Itachi spoke. "Has Danzo been following the agreement I left him?" Itachi asked.
"No," the Hokage answered truthfully. "He hasn't. He made himself known to your brother roughly a month ago. Danzo actually motivated him to complete his tree walking exercise." Hiruzen added.
Itachi was shocked by this. Why would Danzo help him? "Why would Danzo do such a thing?" Itachi asked. Hiruzen looked at the man and sighed.
"He has started to make his presence known to Naruto Namikaze. He's been going behind my back for over a year now to help Naruto get stronger." Hiruzen told Itachi. "During that time, Naruto and Sasuke were training their chakra control until Jiraiya felt they was ready for the first steps of the Rasengan." Hiruzen spoke.
'The Rasengan huh? That's going to be nice to see.' Itachi thought to himself. "Hmm, I'll leave a crow for Danzo, so he knows to be more careful of what we had argeed upon. Speaking of Namikaze, the elders revealed that information to him?" Itachi asked as he coughed some blood up.
"Are you alright? I can always have Tsunade heal you if you ever needed it, Itachi." Hiruzen spoke with concern. "Unfortunately, Naruto found out himself. I believe Danzo also had something to do with this." Itachi nodded again towards his Hokage.
"No, that's alright, I need no one else to know of the Uchiha's treachery." Itachi stated. He had to die so the Uchiha name remained respected and was restored to its previous glory. "Remember Lord Hokage, six months' time I will return as an adversary. I won't go extreme either, but my partner will. Train up your Jonin, so that it can be stopped." Itachi warned as he became a flock of crows.
Itachi left the Hokage's resident and sent a bird to Danzo. Another threat. The final threat. He walked into the direction of Sasuke's house. 'I truly miss and love you little brother. I hope you're doing well.' Itachi thought. He kept walking in his old Anbu gear which he kept in a seal for occasions such as this.
He arrived at Sasuke's house to see a bunch of water balloons bursted on the floor. Itachi wondered what that was about and headed to the boy's room. He seen the sleeping figure of his brother. He sat there for a few minutes.
Sasuke woke up and seen the familiar anbu man. "Why are you in my house Anbu?" Sasuke asked. The Anbu man stood there. "I asked you a question. What business do you have here." Sasuke asked. The Anbu man took his mask off. Sasuke froze up.
"Have you gotten stronger yet, foolish little brother." Itachi asked with his Mangekyou active. Sasuke couldn't find his voice. "It appears the cat has gotten your tongue. I can sense you're still too weak. You lack the need hatred still. You're pitiful. Have you even unlocked your sharingan?" Itachi questioned. Sasuke sat there frozen still. He hadn't. "You must kill your best friend to achieve the same eyes as me. Only then will you become strong enough to face me." Itachi said. Sasuke couldn't move still. "Perhaps you need a reminder. Sharingan: Genjutsu!" Itachi said as Sasuke was captured in the genjutsu. In this genjutsu he saw Itachi killing everyone again.
Itachi left while Sasuke was in the genjutsu. 'When he wakes up it will break the genjustu. Let's see if you fall for the bait.' Itachi thought to himself as he left the house and back to Konoha's border.
Itachi walked back to where his partner was sleeping. His partner woke up. "Itachi you're back?" He asked.
"Yes, now I'm going to sleep. Stay quiet." Itachi said as the two slumbered away.
Omake: My Little Birdy
Date: Morning Time, One Day Removed From Itachi's visit.
Danzo was in his Root Anbu lair when he noticed a bird fly in somehow. "Damn bird." Danzo grumbled as he got up to remove the bird. Once he got to the bird and showed the bird its way out he sat down.
Danzo started filling out some of the missions for his men when he noticed a bird flew into his table. "Damn birds!" Danzo spoke with annoyance. This time he threw a shuriken at the black bird. "Finally back to my peace." Danzo said as he sat down.
This time another bird came in. "WHAT! THE! ACTUAL! FUCK!" The mummy man yelled out scaring the bird away. "Where are all these annoying crows coming from?" He asked no one in particular.
"Yes, I wonder where myself." A man said sending shivers down Danzo's back. Danzo slowly turned around and see the man he feared the most. Itachi Uchiha.
"I-It-Itachi? What're yo-you doing here?" Danzo asked while stuttering. Itachi didn't say anything. Danzo got nervous. "I-I helped Sasuke actually. I know you said not to see him or make My presence known to him, but he was there with Namikaze and I want to help the boy get stronger." Danzo said.
The Itachi he was looking at became a bunch of crows. 'Genjutsu?' Danzo thought. A kunai hit Danzo in the chest and he fell over.
"Good Riddance." Itachi said. Danzo coughed blood and closed his eyes.
"NOOO!" Danzo woke up yelling. "A dream?" Danzo asked himself. He lifted his head off of the desk he was at and seen a black crow at the end. This crow was special. Danzo seen the eye. "Shisui's other Sharingan!" He exclaimed. 'So, Itachi you've made your point. Curse him. When I become Hokage, you will be the first to die.' Danzo thought to himself.
