Thank you for tuning in to this week's chapter. This is another Side Character Stories chapter. This one is about Kurama and Naruto. This chapter explains on why Kurama is communicating with Naruto earlier on in this story. Well, Enjoy the Read.
Arc: Side Character Stories
Chapter 13:The Fox, The History, & The Boy
Year 1 A.K (After Konohagakure's founding)
"Madara, you do not have to do this!" Hashirama Senju, the First Hokage spoke.
"Yes, I do Hashirama. I already see that the Uchiha will be held back and eventually be put in the gravel, I do not wish that for myself." Madara stated.
"This has been our dream though. Since we were children!" The Senju clan leader pleaded.
"No! This is your dream. My dream lies into the Infinite Tsukuyomi! A world were only victors exist!" Madara exclaimed.
"Madara, just give it time. There's no need for you to abandoned the village!" Hashirama Senju repeated.
"No, the next time we meet again Hashirama, will be on the battlefield!" Madara declared.
After that event, Madara became the first Rogue Shinobi. Tobirama pushed for his execution to rid Konoha's hands of Madara, however, Hashirama didn't allow it.
Madara went into hiding. He was trying to figure out how he could perform the Infinite Tsukuyomi. It was told that the power of the Sage of Six Paths was required.
What did that mean? The former Uchiha clan head thought. "The Sage definitely existed. It has been a tale as old as time that both the Uchiha and Senju derived from his blood. Could that mean I require Hashirama's power as well as my own?" Madara theorized.
While Madara planned his attack to be perfect, he was being watched by a dark figure. One we all know to be Black Zetsu.

Year 7 A.K.
"Hashirama, I'll admit before you were always superior to me. However, I have a pet that will balance the tides in my favor!" Madara yelled.
"What is this pet you speak of?" Hashirama asked.
"I'll show you!" Madara responded. He ran through a few hand signs and then slapped the ground. "Summoning Jutsu!" Madara yelled out.
The area was now covered in smoke. Hashirama couldn't see through it. However, he heard a distinct Roar and the feeling of hatred surround him.
The Kyubi! Madara you sly dog! Hashirama complimented his friend in his thoughts.
Once the smoke cleared, Hashirama looked up at Madara who was now standing over the massive orange Nine Tailed Fox.
The Fox looked at Hashirama and snarled. Unfortunately, the fox had its own problem. It couldn't control itself as Madara Uchiha now commands it with his mighty Mangekyou Sharingan.
"You see Hashirama, this is where it ends for you and Konoha!" The Uchiha yelled. Madara's eyes took the form of his Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan.
Hashirama meet Madara's eyes and smiled.
Is this psychopath smiling? Madara thought to himself.
"You're right my friend. This is the end, but not for me." The Senju clan leader spoke.
The two clashed. A clash that would be written in history books for years to come.
Year 53 A.K.
"That is why you must never let anyone capture you, because if you do, they will try to rip the fox out of you my little Uzumaki." The wife of the first Hokage spoke.
"Did Madara Uchiha really turn on the village for power?" The little girl asked.
"Unfortunately he did Kushina. Madara was a man of much love. The Uchiha clan loves the hardest. When something rips that love from them, they hate the hardest. Madara was a lost soul." Mito Uzumaki explained.
"Wow, I'll be safe no matter what!" Kushina declared.
"I hope so." Mito spoke with the brightest smile ever despite her practically on death's door now that the transference of the Nine Tails has happened.
October 10th, Year 65 A.K.
"Stand away from the Jinchuriki woman Fourth Hokage," a new voice ordered.
Minato went wide eye. How? How was this possible? The Fourth Hokage thought.This guy got through 14 of the best Anbu I had. There's no way and without a scratch. I must get to the bottom of this. This masked man with chains would be an issue. Minato backed up away from his wife.
The man held the baby of the Hokage. "Good. Now run along Lord Fourth." The man said as he threw Naruto in the air.
Minato's eyes went wide as he sprang into action to grab his son.
Hssssss. Minato heard the sound of a paper bomb attached to Naruto's swaddle blanket. Paper bomb!
Minato removed the blanket and used one of his specialty kunai to teleport to his house.
He laid Naruto down in the crib Kushina and him purchased. "I'll be right back Naruto." He told the crying baby.
Minato teleported back to the cave where his wife and the masked man were. "I don't know what it is you want or require. However, you will leave this village right now on your own accord or you will perish tonight." Minato told the man.
"You talk a big game for someone who doesn't understand what's about to happen. But since I'm a villain I'll monologue a bit so you can think of a plan." The man said. "How's that sound Lord Hokage?" The mask figure asked sarcastically.
The man stood without a care in the world. "I am the savior of the world. There will be many sacrifices to reach the end, but there'll be peace. Unfortunately for you, you're wife Kushina Uzumaki-Namikaze is one of the many sacrifices to be made. I'll rip the nine tails out of her. And I know when I do I can't simply leave this village. So I'll destroy your village, kill you and leave with the Nine Tails." The man told Minato.
Minato watched the man in horror as he continued.
"However, if you walk away right now, I'll allow you to live so that you may see my ultimate plan. 'INFINITE TSUKUYOMI'." The man's voice boomed. "What is your answer Hokage?"
"I answer with stay the hell away from my wife!" He throws a kunai which goes through the man. Minato is shocked. Is this just a hologram? He thinks to himself.
"Oh you almost had me! Maybe try again and we will see what happens?" The Masked Man taunted.
Minato rushes the man but as he predicts he goes through him and reaches for his wife and realizes it was just a clone that was transformed as the poof came. Where did he go? Minato asked himself.
"RAWRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!" A big boom was heard with the roar! Minato realizes what it could be.
'Damn him. This is the worse case scenario. I'm sorry Naruto, Kushina, Jiraiya and you too Lord Third. It seems my time is up.' He thinks to himself with a tear in his eye.
The Fourh Hokage found the man as he teleported to Kushina's mark he placed on her years ago. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" Minato questioned.
"You Kage think too small Lord Fourth. You believe that running your villages will keep the world at peace, yet wars start and destroy. Smaller villages and nations have no choice but to bow to the might of the 5 great nations. This ideology of the village system is flawed." The man monologued.
"I think you like the sound of your own voice." Minato stated. Earlier when I attacked him, my kunais went through him. He must be capable of using a space-time ninjutsu as he is a good distance away from the birth site. That would make this masked individual very dangerous. I need more information if I'm going to be victorious here. Minato analyzed.
"There's no point in analyzing me. You won't live long to figure it out anyways." The man arrogantly claimed.
Minato was shocked to know that this man knew what he was doing. Could I know this man? Minato wondered.
"You see Fourth Hokage, I will win this battle no matter what. Even if I retreat now I will undoubtedly create animosity and distrust in the village." He looks at Minato with a sharingan shining bright red.
"Th-that's a sharingan!" Minato stated. He now knew why the Nine Tails wasn't attacking this man. He was controlling it. "Tell me,are you Madara Uchiha? To control the Nine Tails, and be up to my speed that's the only way. But he died years ago."
"I do wonder about that. However, it's time for you to leave this plane of dimension." The man says as he grabs Minato.
I'm being sucked in! I have to teleport away. Minato realized.
"So that's how Iwa nin felt. Got to say it's quite annoying being on the other side of that. Well no matter, guess I'll play this game of cat and mouse. For now." The man says as he swirls away and to where Minato is.
"What an impressive technique." Minato murmurs.
"Hn, yeah I guess it is. Similar but better than your jutsu." The man says.
He and Minato throw a few kunais at each other and dodge respectively. That's when Minato throws one of his Flying Raijin Kunais.
The person to strike first will win this battle! The man thought as he phases through the Kunai and is about to grab Minato. Yes, victory is mine! The man thought.
Minato teleports away and strikes him with a Rasengan.
Damn it all. The Kunai from earlier! The man thinks. He gets off the ground with his arm melting off.
Minato takes note of this. What the man probably doesn't know is that Minato placed a marker on him and can get to him later!
"Well it seems you got me oh great Fourth Hokage. However, I do wonder how the Village is holding up with my pet rampaging about. Until next time, later." The man swirls away to recover and retreat.
Now it's time to deal with the Nine Tails and save the village. I just hope everyone can forgive me. He thinks to himself.
Moments later
"Kushina, I've brought the Nine Tails. Can you use your chakra chains to hold it down?" Minato asked the newly made mother.
"Y-ye-yes. I can do it. Just seal it back into me so I can take it with me to the grave." Kushina said. Barely able to stand.
"Kushina, I'm sorry. I can't do that. The power scale between the elemental nations will be unbalanced and Konoha will be weakened. I must seal the Kyubi inside Naruto." Minato said drawing up the seal Kushina had taught him years ago.
"Minato! Please no! He can't handle that! After this the village will hate him!" Kushina cried.
"No." Minato started to reassure her, "I believe the village will do the right thing. With Jiraiya-sensei and Lord Third around he will be raised well and protected." Minato said as he smiled at her.
The massive fox was caught in the chakra chains that Kushina summoned. He looked down at Kushina Uzumaki and Minato Namikaze. NO, I cannot allow this! They want to seal me in that little child?! This will not stand!I just want to be free. Kurama thinks to himself. The Kyubi goes to kill the infant! As his massive nail came closer it suddenly stopped.
The Kyubi's claw was stopped by the two bodies of Kushina and Minato. Both protecting their child. Kurama was getting nervous.
"Shiki Fujin!" Minato shouted.
The Kyubi stared the massive shinigami with awe. The Shinigami stuck its blade through its stomach and Minato's stomach had the same injury. The Kyubi was amazed that humans are now able called upon the Shinigami. He saw the hand coming straight for him now! The Shinigami grabbed and pulled half of the tailed beast's chakra away from it. It was then sealed into the newly born infant.
"Kushina, I'll be sealing some of your chakra and my own in her to help him in the future." Minato stated.
Kushina nodded and the Shinigami had gone through her as well and into the baby boy. Minato then sealed the half of the Kyubi into himself. Minato laid on the ground motionless now. Sorry everyone. I hope this saved the village. He thought as his eyes now saw black.
Kurama was now sealed once again. He open is eyes to view the new cage that was now his home.Trapped again. When will this eternal struggle between humans end? The Kyubi depressingly thinks to himself.
Year 78 A.K. (1 month ago)
"We will work on your chakra control some more, so that way you will be able to have precise control. This will lead to use eventually using the Nine Tails' chakra. You will perfect using it and become the greatest shinobi of this village ever." Danzo ranted on.
"Yes Lord Danzo." Naruto said while in a bowing position.
So, now they will start taking my chakra? The giant fox thought to himself.
"Your father used the 8 trigrams seal. This was the same seal your mother and Lord First's wife had. We do not possess the key to this seal, so we will be altering it." Danzo informed the boy.
"What do you mean altering?" Naruto asked.
"Well, the seal I'll use on you is called the Five Elemental Seal. This seal will cut off any support from the Kyubi." Danzo stated.
"I thought we wanted to access the fox's power?" Naruto questioned.
"Stop interrupting me." The bandaged ninja said. "Once I add this seal; I'll use another seal called The Cookie Cutter." Shimura spoke.
"What kind of a name is that?" Naruto asked, once again interrupting Danzo.
I'll let the boy have that one. I too was baffled by the name of this seal. Danzo thought to himself. He cleared his throat and spoke, "Mito Uzumaki, Lord First's wife, created this seal to cut perfect cookies. However, if the user is strong enough, we could use this on other seals that we don't have the key to."
The leader of Root grabbed a sealing paper and a pen. He drew what the seal looked like.
Naruto watched on carefully. After all messing with a seal is dangerous. Even more so when the seal is on your person.
"Now, we will try to add this seal. I want you to learn this seal by next week. Once you have; we will start using the beast's chakra." Danzo stated.
Year 73 A.K. (3 Weeks ago; before being assigned the C Rank)
Naruto had been practicing the Cookie Cutter Seal. He couldn't perform a perfect 8 trigram seal yet, so he resorted to using a 4 trigram seal with a bit of his chakra sealed in it. Naruto had used this seal 26 times.
Time to use it on the real thing. Naruto's hand glowed with chakra. He took his hand and opened it fully. He applied his hand to his abdominal region.
Naruto applied more chakra to the Cookie Cutter Seal than when he did it on the 4 trigram seal. He did this to make sure that the seal did what it was supposed to.
Once Naruto applied the Cookie Cutter Seal, what happened that he was not ready for.
"Cookie Cutter Seal!" Naruto yelled out as the circular seal took form on top of the 8 Trigrams Seal.
Naruto watched on through a mirror. The usual swirl around his belly button was now filling. Interesting. I wonder wha- Naruto's inner thoughts were cut off by red chakra leaking out of him.
His eyes turned to slits, his nails growing somewhat sharper, and his whisker marks becoming more defined. Naruto's sense of smell, hearing, and sight increased.
He looked in the mirror again and started to sweat. The red chakra was making him warm. Too warm. I don't think this was supposed to happen. Naruto thought to himself.
The Kyubi could feel its chakra being sucked from in.Is the seal breaking? I can get free! The massive fox thought. Kurama pushed chakra through. Perhaps more than the boy could handle.
"That's not good!" Naruto stated after watching even more chakra appear.
The Kyubi's chakra was getting heavier and heavier. It felt as if a boulder was dropped on Naruto.
I got to take this seal off! Naruto thought to himself. He reached for the cookie cutter seal and applied chakra to cut it off. However, now using the Kyubi's chakra, he used more than expected. He applied his hand and a force sent him through his bathroom wall into his kitchen. The red chakra had dissipated. Naruto saw black and passed out.
The boy's will is stronger than even that of Madara Uchiha's. The Kyubi's inner thoughts stated. The Nine Tailed Fox looked at the seal. The doors were still shut, but the seal was weakened exponentially.
"Naruto Namikaze. You are an interesting one. I channeled enough chakra through you to crush a small town and yet you stop me." The Kyubi spoke to no one in particular. It closed its eyes and went back to sleep.
Somewhere else
"So, the boy accessed the Kyubi's chakra. Step three completed." Danzo told himself. He smirked, "only seven more steps to go."
Year 73 A.K. (1 day later)
The Hokage had a mountain of paperwork. A new stack was dropped on his desk yesterday evening after the villagers felt a sinister killing intent and chakra. Hiruzen knew this belong to the Kyubi. However, when the Anbu squad arrived at Naruto's house, the boy was knocked out.
"Anbu." Sarutobi spoke.
Three men appeared at once. They stood at attention awaiting orders.
"Go to the Hospital and tell the receptionist that I am to be called when Naruto awakes. You enrolled him under Uzumaki correct?" The Hokage asked.
"Yes Lord Hokage." The Anbu man wearing what looked to be a cat mask.
"Good work Tenzo. Now go let the Hospital know for me." Hiruzen ordered.
The three Anbu disappeared from sight.
I know Danzo had a hand in this. How though is the real question. Hiruzen thought to himself.
one hour later
Jiraiya was summoned yesterday to go review Naruto's seal and make sure everything was okay with the Kyubi's prison.
Once Jiraiya arrived and analyzed the seal he gasped.
"What is it Jiraiya?" Hiruzen asked.
How can this be? He thought. "It's altered Sensei." Jiraiya said as he looked over at his teacher.
"Altered you say? How so?" Sarutobi questioned.
"I'm not sure. I've never seen anything like this. Must be a really old seal. I can't fix this Sensei. Naruto... what did you do?" Jiraiya questioned.
The sleeping form of Naruto was motionless. Still absorbing the new amounts of Kyubi chakra entering his system.
That wraps up this Side Character Story. As you can see Danzo and Naruto are cracking the seal. What could be the consequences of this I wonder... anyways next Sunday I'll drop the next chapter. Stay tuned everyone and wish me luck on my three exams.

Haku has made a surprising rise in votes all of a sudden. She is now tied up with Hinata, which is very surprising to me. I like that ship myself, it's different. But the jump in votes must be because of the arc we are on. W voters for sure. Anyways, that wraps up this side character story. The next one (Side Character Stories IV: Fallout of The Third Shinobi World War) will release after the Land of Waves Arc is complete. Also, does anyone have any ideas for OCs? Credit will be given to the owner of said character. I will be needing 2 Mist Shinobis, 9 Iwa Shinobi, and some samurai.
