Authors Note

To the guest who reviewed my story saying-

"Please branch out! This isn't meant to be mean! It just your stories are so repetitive because you add an OC and just follow the show. That's boring! Branch out like you did a few chapters ago. Develop Val and Lucas's. Stop with this stupid triangle and making Rilaya the bad guys. Give Riley a new love interest. Bring Josh into it more for Maya. I love your writing but I hate you follow the show and keep making Rilaya the bad instead of branching out and trying new things. I think you would get so many new readers and reviewers if you did so."

I think you've commented before and let me be clear, this fanfiction follows the show. I do write original chapters occasionally but not very often because they are harder to write and take more of my time and energy to get them to a point where I'm comfortable publishing them. I have another good reason for not writing a completely original story. I wrote an original Girl Meets World fanfiction before and I got so much hate for it, people literally messaged me and told me to kill myself because my original writing was so bad (they were reported and dealt with). The psychological trauma from this is not something I want to go through again. I am more comfortable following the shows for any fanfiction I write at the moment because I am not willing to put myself through that again.

I know you said you didn't mean this to be mean, and I know you more than likely didn't know about what happened with that previous fanfiction so I don't blame you for wanting me to branch out. This isn't meant to be mean either, it's just meant to explain why I write the way I do.

I think I've been pretty clear that the antagonist in this story is mainly Riley, I'm sorry if you don't like that, but that's what I've written and that's what I'm going with. Riley is not a bad character in the show, she's not a good character though. She's pushy, self-centered, and can be mean at times. I'm aware that the Riley I've written is OOC, her bad traits could be called extreme, but I'm planning to have her grow in later chapters.

I also don't think Maya is necessarily "the bad guy." I've written her as being almost conditioned by Riley to do what Riley wants, I think Riley is the kind of friend who would say something like "If you don't do (whatever it is I want you to), I'll never talk to you again!" Maya doesn't have much of a family, her Dad left and her Mom is pretty absent (she does love and care about Maya, I'm not saying she doesn't, she's just busy working which is understandable). The Matthews have become her family because of her friendship with Riley and she's afraid of losing them. Maya is OOC too, I know this. She is also going to grow and change in later chapters.

I have plans/ideas for more original chapters down the road and I always accept ideas for original chapters if you'd like to private message me or comment with them. Whether I write them or not depends on if I think I can do the idea justice or if it fits with my plan for the story. If you have ideas I'd love to talk to you, please private message me and we can talk.

Finally, I honestly don't care how many readers I get. Does it make me happy when I get a review or someone favorites/follows my stories? Of course! But when it comes down to it, I'm not writing this to make money or to see how many readers I get. I'm writing because I enjoy writing. There is no other reason.

If you don't like that, you do not have to read any of my fanfictions again.

Anyone is welcome to message me with ideas for original chapters. I've gotten several of the ideas for the original chapters from readers (Val Meets Valentines Day and Val Meets Annie). And some. I've come up with myself (Val Meets Philadelphia, Riley Meets Anger, Val Meets Home Again). I love hearing from the people who read my stories and I will always accept polite constructive criticism. If you have suggestions or ideas I want to hear them.

Constructive criticism for me should have what I could change specifically and ideas how to. This guest did do that, saying I should bring in a new love interest for Riley and Josh for Maya and I appreciate that. However, I don't think Joshaya fits in this story, it's a cute ship but I don't think it fits with my plan. Another OC might be a solution, it's something I have to work on and build to.

I hope what I've written here helps you understand why I write like I do. This chapter isn't meant to call the guest out, I just can't private message them because they are a guest. They are also not the first person to comment things like this so this is for all of those people too. I don't want anyone to hate on anyone else, the first rule in life is to treat people how you want to be treated (the second rule of life is to never say no to free food, if you were wondering) and I hope that I treat people with respect.

I hope that I've been respectful in this chapter, and if you feel like I haven't, then I apologize.

I do want to state for the record that I will not tolerate any hate towards any commenters. If someone comments something I feel is hateful or mean (to me or anybody else), I will be reporting the comment. If someone comments something hateful/mean twice I will report your comment and your account. I will never apologize for standing up against hate.
