IHarry's recovery from surgery went as expected and Harry, Amy, Susan, Hannah, Sirius, Amelia, and Heather were soon back at Abbott Manor.
The rest of the year passed uneventfully.
On Monday, February 3rd, 1992, at Abbott Manor, Heather was addressing Harry, Amy, Susan, Hannah, Sirius, and Amelia.
"I have an announcement, " said Heather happily, "I have selected a name for the new school I'm opening this fall."
"OH, WHAT IS IT?!" yelled Harry, Amy, Susan, Hannah, Sirius, and Amelia in excitement.
"Skyward School of Practical Sorcery," said Heather proudly.
"Ah, " grinned Harry, "Skyward because you hope your school will be a launching pad for your students' lives."
"Very good Harry, " grinned Heather.
"School is obvious, " smirked Amy.
"Practical for the fact that learning will be largely hands on and not all that book oriented, " said Susan brightly.
"You're all getting it, " smiled Heather.
"And Sorcery because it's a school of magic, " said Hannah cheerfully.
"Exactly, " said Heather joyfully, "It's a proud moment for me to have finally chosen a name for my new school."
"Skyward School of Practical Sorcery is the PERFECT name for your new school, Heather!" said Sirius approvingly.
"That's what I said to myself when it came into my mind, " said heather glowingly, "This school is going to be my pride and joy."
"I know Skyward School of Practical Sorcery is going to be a godsend for the future of the Wizarding World, " said Amelia admiringly.
"I'll guess the day that Skyward School of Practical Sorcery opens will be the happiest and proudest day of your life. I am right?" Harry asked Heather eagerly.
"No. but you have the right idea, " said Heather clearly, "As much pride and joy as I will take in the opening of Skyward School of Practical Sorcery, the proudest and happiest moment of my life will always be the day Hannah was born. Nothing will ever compare to that."
Harry was struck with a sudden idea.
"Heather?" piped up Harry, "If I may make a suggestion, the day before Skyward School of Practical Sorcery opens, why don't you and Hannah, and only you and Hannah, go there. It could be a fantastic mother-daughter moment for you and Hannah to be the very first two people ever to set foot on the campus of Skyward School of Practical Sorcery before anyone else does."
Both Heather and Hannah felt their eyes welling up with emotion.
"Mom, can we please do that?" Hannah asked Heather hopefully, "Having that as a mother-daughter moment, for me and mom to be the first two people to set foot on mom's school, would mean the world to me."
"Hannah, we WILL do that, " said Heather emotionally, "To have the first steps taken on the campus of Skyward School of Practical Sorcery be me with my daughter with just the two of us will be a moment that will last a lifetime."
"Thanks, mom!" smiled Hannah, "And thanks to Harry for suggesting this idea. "
"That was very thoughtful of you to suggest that idea, Harry, " said Heather gratefully.
"Heather, I'm happy for you that you and Hannah will be able to have that moment. And while it's Sirius that will be adopting me when the time comes, and rightfully so as he's my godfather and the person my mom and dad wanted to look after me, I do want you to know, Heather, that I will be forever grateful to you for being the first adult who was ever there for me and for being the first adult to ever throw support behind me. You've made a big difference in my life and I'm forever grateful to you for everything you've done for me. If anyone deserves a moment like the one you and Hannah will share at Skyward School of Practical Sorcery, you do."
"Oh, Harry!" said Heather, now with full-fledged tears coming down her face as she went up and gave Harry a hug.
Heather clearly felt a bit overwhelmed at what Harry had told her.
"I can't begin to tell you how much that acknowledgment means to me Harry, " said Heather chokily, "I- I"
But Heather could say no more. She just pulled Harry closer to her and they shared a long, tight, meaningful embrace.
Harry and Heather finally broke apart and Heather looked Harry straight in his eyes.
"I don't give damn what the bloodlines say, you are family to me, Harry, " said Heather fiercely.
"You are family to me too, Heather, " said Harry with equal fierceness in his voice.
Heather now turned her attention back to Hannah and said, "That first moment we share at Skyward School of Practical Sorcery as mother and daughter is going to be one of the most wonderful days of our lives."
"No doubt it is, " agreed Hannah.
