On Halloween morning, 1992, Harry, Amy, Susan, and Hannah all entered the Eating and Meeting Hall at Skyward School of Practical Sorcery wearing orange dresses, black slide on sandals, and their toenails painted purple.
"Happy Halloween," piped up Harry as he took his seat at the Yellow Quartet's table next to Amy, Susan, and Hannah.
The nanosecond the word Halloween had left Harry's lips, nine hundred octillion to the nine hundred octillionth power balloons came floating down from the ceiling.
The overwhelming majority of these balloons were orange and black, but a few here and there were purple.
Before anyone knew what was happening, all the students and staff of Skyward School of Practical Sorcery were throwing these balloons at each other, playing volleyball with them, or kicking them around.
The Eating and Meeting Hall was now filled with smiles and giggles from everyone having a good old time.
"Happy Halloween, everyone," grinned Heather from the front of the staff table, "Harry Potter has been helping with the preparation for Halloween as he is a self-proclaimed Halloween junkie. He bewitched these balloons to all fall from the ceiling at the exact same nanosecond the first time they heard his voice say the word Halloween."
"That was such a cool idea, Harry," said Amy admiringly.
"And perfectly executed too," smiled Susan.
"He's really made it fun," cooed Hannah.
"If I may ask?" piped up Heidi, "Why are some of the balloons purple?"
"I'm guessing," interjected Luna Lovegood, "That Harry considers purple as a secondary Halloween color. We all know that orange and black are the primary Halloween colors, but there's a very good argument for seeing purple as a secondary Halloween color."
"Luna is EXACTLY right!" smiled Harry, "Orange is a traditional Halloween color because it represents the harvest and the changing of seasons. Black, meanwhile, is a traditional Halloween color because it represents death and darkness, especially as the days are growing shorter. It makes sense why orange and black are the primary Halloween colors. I believe purple should be accepted as a secondary Halloween color because it has historically been associated with magic and the supernatural."
"That makes so much sense," chimed in Cedric.
"So," grinned Harry, "As many of you know, my three BFFs, Amy Alworth, Susan Bones, and Hannah Abbott all normally wear yellow clothing and so do I. However, I asked Amy, Susan, and Hannah if we could wear orange dresses, black slide on sandals, and purple paint on our toenails for Halloween. We normally aren't sandals people and prefer socks and shoes-"
"I'd prefer high heels, but mom has never allowed me to wear them, nor has she ever allowed her students to wear them," interjected Hannah bitterly.
"High heels are terrible for your feet," Heather held her ground.
"Anyway," resumed Harry, "I asked Amy, Susan, and Hannah if we could wear sandals today so we could paint our toenails purple and show off our orange, black, and purple combo. They all agreed instantaneously."
Harry, Amy, Susan, and Hannah got up and took a walk around the hall and then resumed their seats.
By now people had become bored of the balloons so Heather said, "Let's eat."
Heather retrieved her wand from her right hand pocket with her right hand and performed a few nonverbal spells.
At that, food appeared on everyone's place settings, but it had a Halloween vibe.
They were using plain orange plates and plain black forks and knives. The plates were now topped with pancakes and sausage links.
The pancakes had shapes cut into them such as bats, spiders, mummies, skeletons, and a few even had BOO! carved into them.
Meanwhile, they were using special goblets to drink their Budweiser from this Halloween.
The Goblets themselves were clear, but had beautifully crafted images of Jack O Lanterns, cats, ghosts, witches on broomsticks, and few even had BOO! painted on them.
"These Goblets are so well crafted," observed Parvati Patil.
"Harry made them via magic," explained Heather as Amy, Susan, and Hannah gave Harry proud smiles."
"I used magic to make the goblets in the first place and then I used magical painting to add the images," said Harry delightedly, "Hurray for Halloween!"
"They're so pretty," cooed Lavender Brown.
"Let's get to eating," requested Justin.
And so, they did.
Anytime someone bit into one of the pancakes, Frankenstein music emitted itself through the Eating and Meeting Hall.
This all gave off a pleasantly creepy vibe.
"Any Halloween fan would be stoked to be here today," declared Dean.
"Spooky but fun and cool," agreed Seamus.
And when all the food and drink were gone, the Eating and Meeting Hall suddenly went pitch black for two minutes and two nanoseconds, creating a spooky feeling.
Just before the lights came back on, Harry screamed "BOO!" at the top of his lungs.
When the lights came back on, Harry felt a savage pleasure at seeing the freaked out looks on everyone's faces.
"I got you all good!" exclaimed Harry, "Yes, I bewitched the Eating and Meeting Hall to go completely dark for two minutes and two nanoseconds after breakfast was gone."
"Scary Harry," smirked Susan.
"Harry has told us his ambition is to grow up to be a manufacturer of things like Halloween and Christmas decorations." added Amy adoringly.
"He'll be the GOAT decoration maker," guessed Gabe.
"In keeping with the spirit of Halloween," said Heather, picking up a bag from under the staff table, "We'll finish breakfast by all eating blood flavored lollipops!"
Heather started taking blood red colored blood flavored lollipops out of the bags and tossing them all around the hall.
They were grotesque, but everyone who caught one ate it and some people got more than one. No one wanted to be seen as a fraidy cat or a wuss.
"Now," said Heather clearly after the lollipops were all gone, "Halloween falls on a Saturday this year. I feel like that makes this a perfect opportunity to have all our school clubs meet and do fun Halloween things together. Club meetings from now until lunchtime."
A/N: I have created a poll about what the readers of Harry Potter and the Yellow Quartet would most like to see in chapter 106. The link to the poll is in my profile and the poll will remain open though at least the end of October 27th. Whatever gets the most votes when I close the poll will be chapter 106. There are eight options to choose from.
