CHAPTER TWO

Winter fluttered his eyes open, letting out a groan, the Icewing Prince raised his head, his wings stretching out while he yawned, his tail curled around himself as he slowly woke up. "Great, another annoying day" Winter grumbled to himself, getting up onto all four paws, lowering his chest slightly as he stretched his body like a big scaled cat.

"Morning Winty!" Cried out a happy and hyperactive Kinkajou who was already awake, waving her tail around before she jumped off her bed, her talons clicking against the stone floor, the next member of the jade winglet to wake up was Moon, she rose her head up from her bed, stretching her wings out before ruffling them, she licked her scaled lips, gazing over at Winter who had by now climbed out of his bed, his serrated claws clicking against the floor.

"Morning Winter" Moon and Qibli said at the same time, the two lovers looking at each other as Winter glanced over to them. "Morning you two" picking up his scroll from last night, he unrolled it, looking at the drawing he had drawn out, sitting on his haunches while trailing his eyes over the mysterious object. "What are you looking at Winter?" Qibli questioned his friend, padding up to him from behind before looking over the Icewing's shoulder.

"I am not sure what we saw last night, though just before I left, something came out of this object" he said, pointing at his drawing of what they found with a talon, tapping it against the soft surface of the scroll. Winter rose his head up from looking down at the drawing, rolling it back up as he then said while slipping the scroll into a bag that he had strapped around his neck earlier. "I'm going to go back and see what I can find" he turned to look back at his winglet, Moon, Qibli and Turtle looked at him, then at each other before Turtle spoke up. "Y-you know we have classes today... right?" The green Seawing stumbled over his words while remaining laid on his bed, though after a few seconds joined his winglet in climbing off his bed and joining them.

"It wont be long... Squid brain"

"Hey! I'm not a squid brain!" Turtle cried out, flapping his wings slightly, showing his disbelief while Winter looked at the green Seawing with a neutral expression, he then rose onto his four paws, turned on the spot and in a rather adorable trotting pace, as Qibli would of said, left the sleeping cave as he made his way towards the entrance of Jade Mountain academy. He snapped his wings open before jumping from the edge of the cliff, he flapped his wings a few times as to keep a steady altitude while the rest of the Jade winglet followed him, except Kinkajou.

Flying through the sky, albeit at a rather low altitude, Winter kept his expression as neutral as possible, though inside he was extremely curious about the finding that they found yesterday.

Once Winter arrived at the impact area he landed gently upon the ground at the edge of the crater, wisps of frosty steam still rose from the crater as the same icy covering still covered the walls and floor of the crater.

"Hmm, better get down there and see what I can find" Winter mumbled to himself before he, in a rather graceful manner, used his talons to slide his way down the icy wall to the bottom of the crater, it was still freezing even for him, he rose his left forepaw and flexed his talons slightly, little pieces of frozen dirt falling from between his talons before he placed his paw back down. He then started to look side to side, his eyes roaming over every detail of the crater, which was now lit up by the early morning sun. The first thing he noticed was the odd looking capsule that laid in the middle of the crater was now gone, all that remained was an icy mark that seemed to hum with a soft blue - purple glow.

"beautiful... just beautiful..." Winter mumbled to himself, he then quickly opened his pouch before reaching inside with a paw, grabbing his scroll he pulled it out, though when he was about to unroll it, he felt someone... or something looking at him, it made him feel on edge as he started to look around, his eyes darted around the walls of the crater, even looking at the tall edge of the crater until he found a dark blue and black dragon staring at him, with a pair of blue eyes that had a soft glow to them.

Though through the rising columns of icy steam, he noticed this dragon was just like the dragon from last night, it was bipedal, seeing that it was crouched on one knee, just staring at him, he also noticed that this dragon had not one major pair of horns, but two pairs of major horns which were a bright yellow, as well as their talons were a bright yellow. The next thing he noticed was that this dragon appeared to be covered in same colour fur which covered parts of it's body, Winter knew he had to ask just who this dragon was, though he found himself frozen in fear as the mystery dragon rose up onto it's feet, making Winter gasp out from just how Big this dragon was.

"By the moons... it's massive... easily three times the size of Queen Glacier" Winter found himself gasping out, the dragon had by now slid down the walls of the crater and landed upon his two large taloned feet, the very ground beneath the dragon seemed to crack under it's weight as dust and ice particles were thrown up into the air, obscuring Winter's vison as it rose once again up to its full height, towering over Winter as the young Icewing Prince backed away, letting out a hiss as frost breath started to flow into his maw, ready to blast this unknown dragon with his breath attack.

"Don't come closer, I warn you, I Will kill you!" Winter growled out, unfortunately for him, he was too far away from Jade mountain school to call for help, he just hoped his friends would come and look for him as the Bipedal dragon came closer to him, Winter, feeling terrified for his life, opened his maw and expelled a chilly blast of frost breath. Expecting it to freeze the dragon solid, Winter was shocked as he watched his frost breath just seemingly get absorbed into the dragon, only for it to open it's maw and blast back a bright blue beam back at him, knocking Winter back against the cave wall, his wing popping out of place, he yelped out while struggling to get back onto his paws only for the unknown dragon to, rather roughly, place his left foot upon Winter's side, pinning him against the ground while it rose it's right hand, Winter looked on with horror as the dragon then slammed it's right paw? Down upon his neck, a shock of something running through him and knocking him unconscious, though just before he slipped fully, he heard this unknow dragon speak.

"I'm sorry Icewing, but the Elders have told me to collect you" At that point he now knew that this dragon was a male, though what was his name? Before he could think more, he slipped into a deep sleep as the unknown dragon scooped up the limp body of Winter before he jumped up and out of the crater only to notice a group of dragons fast approaching.

"Qibli, it's been at least two hours, and he isn't back, i'm worried" Moon said as she paced back and forth, the rest of her winglet were all laying in their beds while Qibli let out a sigh.

"I told him it would be a bad idea, but Oh no" He smirked before getting out from his bed and heading out of their cave, he then proceeded to make his way towards the entrance of the school, with the rest of his winglet following him.

"Qibli, are w-we really going to look for Winter?" Turtle asked while he walked beside Kinkajou, the brightly coloured Rainwing looked around at the paintings that hung from the walls before they left the entrance and made their way out onto the large platform which was on a cliff.

"This isn't like Winter to be gone for so long" Qibli mumbled as he suddenly snapped his wings open before flying into the air and towards the location of the crater, with Moon, Peril, Kinajou and Turtle following him.

"What if he got hurt or something?" Moon asked Qibli, only to receive a head shake from the Sandwing. "That is unlike Winter Moon, THIS is unlike Winter to not even fly back and say he is okay or something" The whole group continued to fly without talking, just aiming to find their missing winglet member and friend.

After some time they got close to the Crater, yet Qibli noticed something was wrong. "Who is that? and WHY are they holding Winter!" The Sandwing cried out, making the unknown dragon to glance up at the group of dragons, having just left the crater. Qibli first noticed that this being looked like a dragon, yet stood like a scavenger, they had a pair of large blue wings along with two pair of major horns that crowned their head, they seemed to be holding Winter bridle style, carrying the limp Icewing in their long powerful looking arms.

"HEY, DROP HIM AT ONCE!" Qibli roared out as he landed onto the ground with quite a land, just as he was about to leap at this unknow dragon, they, along with Winter seemed to just... disappear into thin air with a crackle of thunder, leaving behind a mark of blue glowing marks on the ground where the dragon stood.

"he's gone, Oh God He's GONE!" Turtle started to panic, having landed along with the rest of the Jade Winglet, Moon just stood there, eyes wide with fear and shock as she covered her sound with both her forepaws, Qibli glanced around, seeing for any sign of Winter, yet, when he didn't see any, he let out a roar of anger, kicking a stone into the crater before he sat down on his haunches.

"We need to report this to the Dragons of Des-" "Yes i know" Qibli said in a soft voice, cutting Kinkajou off before he slowly rose back up and turned to face his winglet before he then said to everyone to search the area for clues.

In a burst of bright blue light the unknown dragon who held Winter would appear in what appeared to be a very large underground bioluminescence forest, sunlight leaked into the expansive Giant cavern, a river flowed through the heart of the forest while countless never seen before creatures ran, swam and flew through the forest, small white clouds seemed to float through the sky as the Bipedal dragon would make his way towards a group of dragons that were sat around a large fire.

"Ah, here he is, How did you do Brilzrar?" The Elder Icewing asked as she looked over at the Blue, Black and yellow coloured dragon. "I am fine, though I had to... knock him out" He explained as he then gently placed the still limp Icewing Prince down onto a bed of leaves.

"Brilzrar, you have done well, Winter here will be the key to unify all the kingdoms" Explained the Nightwing Elder while Brilzrar listened, taking a seat beside the Rainwing Elder as he would glance down at her, he did at first find it odd that all the Elders were females, though he never questioned it as he started to study more of his body.

"When he used his frost attack on me, i absorbed it, only to blast it back at him, yet my attack was different to his attack"

"Ah yes, well, you are a very ancient species of dragon, one that has been forgotten to time" The Icewing Elderess explained to him as he glanced up at her, or more like glanced down at her as he was three times her size while he curled his long tail around himself, grabbing his tail tip in his clawed hands before he glanced down at his talons, a sudden feeling of tiredness washing over him as he then asked to be excused as he explained he wanted to rest.

"Of course Brilzrar, please do rest as much as you like, but do bare in mind that we still need you to do missions for us" The Seawing Elderess explained before Brilzrar got up and made his way around the large fire, entering a large cave where a large leaf bed laid for him, he then laid down on it, on his side where he thought for a few seconds before slowly closing his eyes.
