Prologue

It was all quiet now.
Too uncomfortably quiet.
There was nothing. No sounds. All silence, except for the sound of a breeze. It whistled into the cave's insides and she felt it across her form. It startled her quite a bit and she swore she felt the breeze pick up with her sudden surprise, but it went back to normal before she could comprehend what happened.

It was odd, she figured. No wind had ever blown in here for a long time. In fact, it never had a way of getting in because, last she checked, the place was nearly airtight. Nearly as in there were cracks, so there was no way this much of a breeze could come in unless..

The human finally stood up from her hiding place, hissing softly at the slight pain of sticking herself into a burrow she had to squeeze out of. She pulled a hand up, shielding her eyes from the dust gently being carried by the breeze and walked in the direction of it. She paid no mind to the less-than-pleasant surroundings of the cave. Inhabitants long since passed from this life laid all around her while she went past them, careful to not step down and disturb them.

She made it to the main room. A massive room that circled all around her. It was dark and more of the inhabitants laid about on the ground. No respect paid to any of them. It was all dark, before she looked straight ahead and finally saw why the breeze was coming in. The once locked doors were now opened. She thought it impossible. No one on the inside was ever able to pull them open. In fact the door was locked on the outside. She knew it. She and many others like her were there when the doors had to be shut.

Even if the door was unlocked, there was the concern with the weight of the door. Only those imprisoned inside were ever able to open it so casually, not concerned by the weight of heavy, worn stone that no human could ever open without help of others. Her hand felt up on it. Nothing about the door itself had changed other than the obvious. She turned her head from the door and looked out.

The sun..

When had she last seen the sun? She wondered. It had been so long. She tried hard to remember the last time she ever felt its warmth, gave it her all to sift through the memories, but unfortunately those memories blurred together into something unpleasant. She shook her head, not wanting to revisit them and brushed her bangs aside, deciding it was better to be in the moment. However, that didn't last long. There was a sound of small bits of rubble crumbling off the wall, gently tapping yet to her it echoed in the chamber. Rubble didn't so easily come off walls like that even if there were cracks.

She couldn't stay here. Not anymore. She knew that. She had to go. Where to? She didn't know. She just knew she had to leave. She had to, especially before he came back on the chance he did. The human girl gathered all the necessities she could and left, rushing out of the chamber, feeling the sand underneath her feet and the breeze through her hair. She kept on going and didn't look back.

Author's Note: So it's finally arrived.

Listen, I told myself I would focus on one character at a time, one fanfic at a time, but this one couldn't wait any longer than it did. I wanted to put everything into Isabella (TMNG) and eventually Katherina, (another OC I have who won't appear until after TMNG), but I focused so much on those two that I forgot about the most important character of all.

This one.

Now, I won't reveal who she is. The only ones who do know are those who have followed my Ninjago Tumblr (honestly its completely vague details there) and my longtime online best friend (even if we don't talk that much anymore). This fic isn't just for me. It's for that friend too. He has no idea how much this character means to me and how she's made my days better. Even though the old late 2010 RPs were cringe, she's become something to look forward to.

I hadn't meant for this fic to take so long, but it's finally here and as long as I have my Ninjago hyperfixation, I'm going to update like no one's business until it's over. I'm hoping for something like ten to fifteen chapters, maybe. I know the prologue is short, but it has been a bit since I touched upon writing Ninjago fics with actual plot and I also didn't want to give away so much. Just give me some time and let me cook. I got this! I believe in me!

Anyways, the first chapter is in progress as of right now. It probably won't be out until hopefully sometime around Dragons Rising season 1 part 2 releases. (And don't worry about TMNG I will continue that one too. Just give me a bit of time.) I hope you guys enjoyed this short prologue and I really hope you will join me on this adventure. Please, leave any comment/review, favorite and follow if you'd like. I really would appreciate feedback of any kind. It brightens my day.
