Hey, I'm back! Last chapter was proven a great one! This chapter, in addition to sci-fi elements, I'll also give more fantasy elements involved, like magic! Anti-SB prepares for battle, and SpongeBob and Sandy have raced through a portal and have met Cyd and Shelby from Best Friends Whenever! This chapter will feature a few good surprises! Anyways, enjoy this one!
Chapter 5: Portals to Magic
(In Portland, Oregon, SpongeBob and Sandy are trying to explain the situation to Cyd and Shelby.)
SpongeBob: Okay, so Sandy found this mysterious box outside her tree-dome...
Sandy: And then when I pressed it, it sent us through a rift through another town...
SpongeBob: And then it activated again, and I got separated...
Sandy: And then I found him again, only for the two of us to wind up here.
Shelby: So, you're saying that you're from an undersea world, and you stumbled upon a mysterious box that explains all these rifts that appeared here?
SpongeBob: Precisely my point.
Cyd: Okay, so the rifts that appeared from that box?
Sandy: Yep, that box has the power to transverse the multiverse. But it's power is a bit unstable. There's no telling where exactly we'll end up.
SpongeBob: It's a bit confusing. I'm trying to get towards understanding the situation.
(A rift opens across the floor, emitting an ominous glow. An electrical beam hits SpongeBob. He experiences a new vision as the connected energy causes it to form above. In a black-and-white format, it features SpongeBob and Patrick getting into an argument. The girls see this, looking confused by this.)
Shelby: Is that a sea star next towards the sponge?
Cyd: Are they arguing? That's even worse than us arguing like that.
(The vision shifts and turns into the two friends battling each other with swords, intensely, as rain and lightning strike; resembling the darker mood happening. SpongeBob throws grenades at Patrick, who dodges the explosions, and Patrick bounces towards SpongeBob, making them both fall, as they crash onto a moving platform, with numerous kids watching, shocked at what they're seeing. The two of them resume fighting as the vision ends, with the girls horrified at what they saw.)
SpongeBob: My vision. Me and Patrick, and you guys involved, our friendship falling apart, and we fight like that? I don't understand.
(Suddenly, SpongeBob recíbeles a walkie-talkie message.)
Mr. Krabs: SpongeBob! SpongeBob, can you hear me?
SpongeBob: I hear you, Mr. Krabs.
Shelby: Who's Mr. Krabs?
SpongeBob: My boss. A little tight-fisted. Mr. Krabs, are you calling? Is there something wrong?
Mr. Krabs: Uh, you can say that...
(A giant piece of metal is being carried by moving helicopters towards a high building in the center of Portal City. Numerous drones follow, trying to monitor and surveillance the area.)
Phineas: Don't worry, we're okay! Just try to find a way back! In the meantime, try to adjust to where you are. Over and out.
Sandy: So, what should we do? Should we check the place out?
SpongeBob: Eh, okay. I believe we haven't properly introduced myself. I'm SpongeBob, and this is my friend, Sandy.
Sandy: Howdy. I'm from Texas.
Cyd: Nice to meet you. I'm Cyd, and this is my best friend, Shelby.
Shelby: It's a pleasure to meet you... even if it's a little weird seeing a talking sponge and squirrel.
Sandy: Think that was weird? We just went through some crazy portals, and were placed across a controlling city.
SpongeBob: Yeah, oddly, the crazy part. By the way, I have a pet snail, Gary.
Cyd: I have Diesel, my pet dog.
(Diesel arrives and licks SpongeBob.)
SpongeBob: (laughs) That tickles!
Shelby: Hey, want to go meet our friends, Barry and Naldo?
Sandy: Uh, sure.
SpongeBob: Okay; but first, I need a snack. Luckily, I got fresh sea keep chips. (pulls out a bag, opens it, and eats a chip)
Cyd: He's right. I'm starving. Let's go get something to eat. I think there's some fresh cupcakes in the fridge.
(Everyone heads downstairs. However, another portal opens, with the colors flickering. Cyd and Shelby notice this and share a look of worried concern as the girls go downstairs. Unbeknownst to anyone, a tiny mechanized insect comes out, with a camera on it, as it follows after the group.)
(Across Portal City, Doofenshmirtz, Perry, Gary, and Spot are traversing the city, attempting to look for someone.)
Doofenshmirtz: Man, this place is huge! It's even more bigger than Drusselstein times 10! They have restaurants, blinding lights, and casinos! You can gamble away all your money! Let's play, and then we can get back to our mission.
(The group heads in. However, a drone is monitoring them, preparing to strike at the right moment. Gary takes brief notice at this, but shrugs it off. Inside a casino, the four of them are drinking lemonade. Suddenly, the lights flicker a little.)
Doofenshmirtz: Man, what's up with these lights? This place needs a little more money in the budgetary system. Hey, waiter, more coconut lemonade, por favor.
Waiter: You got it, hermano.
(Suddenly, a group of soldiers enter the building, and hold up laser pistols at the surrounding crowd, who hold their hands up in desperation and worry.)
Soldier: Attention, everyone! We are on the lookout for a couple of targets! They are a yellow sponge and a pink sea star! Anyone who knows them, come over here now!
(Gary meows and comes over towards the guard. He meows his answer towards the guard.)
Soldier: Ah, so you know him. Where is he? When we find them, they'll receive the worst of it.
(Gary is shocked and runs away, with Doofenshmirtz, Perry, and Spot following.)
Soldier: Get them! (numerous drones and soldiers chase after the doctor and pets)
(Doofenshmirtz and the pets race across the casino, jumping over a poker table, swimming through a giant chocolate fountain, through a moving car, and bicycling through a zone of bikers.)
Doofenshmirtz: I didn't learn much to bicycling, yet surprisingly, I'm doing a phenomenal job.
(A drone blasts the bike, making Doofenshmirtz and the pets fly and land into the inside of a metal crate.)
Doofenshmirtz: Ouch, that hurt. On the bright side, at least we're safe now. (the crate closes) I spoke too soon.
Soldier: (via ear-com piece) Attention, boss. We got the pet of our fugitive. We also got a platypus, an amoeba, and I think a doctor or a pharmacist.
Doofenshmirtz: I am not a pharmacist! Why does everyone assume that about me? I guess it's the lab coat. Pharmacists wear those, so it makes sense people confuse me for one.
Soldier: Our master will be pleased with you all. Alright, carry the crate out!
(A helicopter passes and attaches its harness to it, before carrying it out of the casino, which leaves a big gaping hole in the wall. The helicopter then flies off, with drones heading after them, having armed weapons and laser pistols, trying to make sure no interference is made.)
(Just right near from where the crate is going, the rest of SpongeBob and Sandy's group are trying to go through the city.)
Squidward: Okay, so we're stranded in the middle of a giant city with no apparent way back home and with a box that we have no way to know how to activate. Oddly enough, the limestone was fresh to know what fate brings to store.
Mr. Krabs: Oh, give it a rest, Mr. Squidward. As if the limelight and atmospheric conditions were worse than what we have. It could be much...(rain starts) worse.
Buford: (sarcastically) Excellent job, geniuses. You really put the good stuff in hand.
Candace: Let's find some shelter. How about that conveniently placed giant hotel right there?
(Everyone heads inside. The lights automatically turn on, and the area is shown to be completely trashed. The receptionist desk smashed, the carpets ripped, and the walls chipped with paint dripping.)
Riley: Whoa. What the heck happened here?
Isabella: From the looks of things, it's not good.
(Everyone walks around with loads of tiny metal circles across the surrounding area. When they reach the elevator, it scans them. It's beeps green, and it opens a metallic door, which opens. The kids notice a room with blue, dimmed, damaged lights. It's revealed to be a large ballroom-like area with damaged tables, and numerous disco balls destroyed.)
Maya: Do you think fate had a reason for bringing us here?
Phineas: I don't know, but we're dealing with something far greater than anyone has ever seen before.
(Patrick notices a glowing green glow-stick on an intact table. He notices a glowing computer-like device. He inserts it in, and the area begins to reestablish itself in a hologram-like version.)
Computer: Recent footage just before destruction now playing.
(Anti-SB and Anti-Sandy are monitoring a crew of soldiers trying to carry a giant metallic device.)
Patrick: Uh, guys... (everyone comes over and sees it)
Anti-SB: Alright, we don't have all night! We need to begin preparations for our super-weapon in the morning! Time is going fast, so we have to go!
Farkle: Super-weapon? What does he mean by that?
Anti-Sandy: SpongeBob, we got some unknown coming.
(Guards in blue suits hold laser guns.)
Guard: Freeze! We have you surrounded! Hands in the air!
Anti-SB: Take them out. (The soldiers battle the guards as they use their laser weapons to take down each other)
(One guard notices a canister of explosive material near Anti-SB and shoots it, but he dodges and uses his electrical rope to swing it towards a basket of explosive canisters, causing a massive explosion that blows everyone, except Anti-SB and Anti-Sandy away. The explosion leaves a giant hole in the wall. The guards are seriously injured.)
Anti-SB: Take them with us. They show no threat towards us.
(The soldiers grab the guards as they head towards the main lobby, with the hole repairing itself, grabbing them and their gigantic metallic piece as they walk out of the hotel. A remaining canister explodes, damaging the lobby. The simulation ends.)
Computer: Simulation complete.
Patrick: So, that's what happened here.
Baljeet: Makes sense since the material in those canisters was highly explosive.
Plankton: I hate to interrupt this crazy lesson, but I noticed them carrying something giant with it being metal of it.
Karen: I think I know what it is. He has been carrying a giant metal circle, a piece that can automatically be rearranged with a right sequence.
Squidward: Okay, so we just saw a criminal mastermind take down an elite group of guards with explosive stuff, and I have no idea what you are talking about.
Karen: "Right sequence" means that they just have to enter a dance code; one that opens up the key to the area of magic.
Candace: Well, whatever's happening, let's go closer towards that purple glowing tile.
(The group notices the tile.)
Lucas: Glowing purple. A mythical, yet some odd strange color.
Mr. Krabs: Let's lift it. Give me a hand, Mr. Squidward.
(Mr. Krabs and Squidward try to lift the tile.)
Squidward: Oh, it's like trying to carry a rock that weighs the size of a house!
(They finally succeed in doing so. The square area opens up a long stairway that goes down.)
Riley: Whoa; that's a long way down.
Phineas: This may take a while; let's just get down.
(Everyone heads down the staircase.)
French Narrator: 32 stories of stairs later...
(Everyone makes it down, all panting from exhaustion from climbing down so much stairs.)
Buford: I climbed down so much, I can barely breathe... or feel my chest.
Squidward: I think I'm gonna be sick.
Maya: Well, on the bright side, at least we're here. Now, what are we supposed to do?
(Suddenly, the place lights up and the floor tiles start to make synchronized movement. Gold butterflies flutter over the area.)
Computer: To continue your task, pass this dance course.
(The music plays, which is undersea dance music; the tiles start to change color as it synchronizes to the music.)
Plankton: So, who's gonna do it?
(Everyone looks at each other.)
(Meanwhile, in Oregon, SpongeBob and Sandy are having cupcakes with Cyd and Shelby.)
SpongeBob: Hmm, this cupcakes taste good. A little more cinnamon; that's where the flavor kicks in.
Sandy: So, what you said was that Cyd will be living with you while her parents are on an archeological dig in Peru; is that right?
Shelby: Yeah, but don't worry, we're best friends; we can get through anything. (they hug)
SpongeBob: That's cute. Oh, uh, by the way, your friend has some... cupcake all over her face.
Cyd: (has cupcake all over her face) Oh, right.
SpongeBob: You know, you remind me of my best friend, Patrick. You two are crazy obsessed with food, and you don't show proper manners at time when eating.
Cyd: By the way, I like to go crazy with food. But onto the point, what was that vision you had; was that the vision of you fighting your friend that is the sea star?
SpongeBob: (shocked) The vision. I know... he did something horribly wrong to me, which led to us fighting. I saw darker things. We were fighting on the top of a moving platform. Laser swords with lightning striking everywhere. What did he do?
(Just then, Barry and Naldo enter.)
Barry: Hey, Cyd, Shelby. Hey, sponge, squirrel... wait a minute; a sponge and a squirrel? I get that the squirrel has her helmet, but why is the sponge breathing air?
SpongeBob: I had some help from Sandy.
Naldo: So is Sandy the squirrel? A bit of a weird name.
Sandy: You're no summer peach, either. A bit small-minded, perhaps, for a kid.
Naldo: I don't understand what you just said.
Shelby: Barry, Naldo, meet SpongeBob and Sandy. They came from another dimension.
Barry: Another dimension? First, you two get time travel powers, and now these unknown strangers are claiming to be from another dimension? My world of science and philosophy has been changing recently.
Sandy: Wait a minute, wait a minute, time travel? You two girls have the ability to time travel?
Cyd: What? No; don't be ridiculous.
SpongeBob: Really? I hear the sound of a lie.
Shelby: That's ridiculous; me and Cyd don't have time-travel powers.
SpongeBob: Oh, so time-travel isn't real, and yet, the glowing rock I have is. (the rock scans the environment and then the girls)
Voice: Yellow stream detected. Analyzing structure. Time-travel molecular level, with tachyon particles; Detected in these two girls.
Sandy: So, you two can time travel? I thought the concept of that was very nearly impossible to crack and solve.
Shelby: Okay, fine; we have the power to time travel. And you were right; discovering it is impossible. But we got it through complete accident.
Cyd: Yeah, I accidentally activated Barry's laser, which hit something in a jar, and then it hit us.
SpongeBob: So you two did something so amazing due to a complete accident? Whoa! That's amazing! How does it work?
Cyd: Simple; me and Shelby just touch each other while we're thinking of a specific time, and we jump to that point.
Sandy: I don't believe it; let's do a demonstration first, to be sure.
Shelby: Okay, then; let's do it.
(The girls touch each other as yellow sparks take them back to earlier.)
SpongeBob: Oh, uh, by the way...
Cyd: I know, I have cupcake all over my face.
SpongeBob: Okay... oh, and also...
Shelby: Your friend, Patrick, reminds you of my best friend; you both go crazy with food.
SpongeBob: Hmm, it's true; you can time travel!
Shelby: How do you remember that?
Sandy: I guess that strange rock kept our memories in check.
(Barry and Naldo enter.)
Barry: Hey, Cyd, Shelby. Hey, Sponge, Squirrel... wait a minute...
Sandy: Yeah, we're a sponge and a squirrel who are from the ocean. We know.
Naldo: Do you climb trees and eat nuts?
Sandy: The trees, sometimes, but I do eat nuts.
(Just then, the insect from earlier crawls up to the kitchen table.)
SpongeBob: Hey, look. An insect. A cute, tiny, robotic... insect. Oh, no...
Cyd: What do you mean by "oh, no"?
Sandy: That insect is part of an enemy's dangerous tech. It's trying to go after SpongeBob.
(The insect scans the area and then scans SpongeBob. After calculating results, it's eyes start to glow red.)
Sandy: Red eyes? That can't be good...
(The insect begins to turn into a robotic vulture. It caws loudly and targets at SpongeBob.)
Shelby: A robotic vulture?! Why didn't you tell us about that?
Sandy: We didn't even know that insect would suddenly come in and turn into one!
Cyd: I know how it came out! Shelby, we saw a swirling, colored portal! It must've came out from there!
Barry: A tiny insect came out of a portal? That's considered a bit unrealistic.
Sandy: Oh, and you think cracking time travel is impossible; not everyone has it out for what you need!
(The vulture targets SpongeBob and drags him into the air and spins around the room.)
SpongeBob: One of my activates on my bucket list was to watch birds, not get carried away by one of them! Someone, help me!
Sandy: Don't worry, SpongeBob! We'll get you down!
SpongeBob: Please, hurry! I think my mind is starting to spin into a circle!
Cyd: Okay, so what do we do?
Sandy: Well, metal and robotics are damaged with water; hey, SpongeBob, you got a water squirter?
SpongeBob: I do! (pulls out a tiny water squirter) Here! Catch! (throws it at the girls, which accidentally hits Shelby)
Shelby: Ow! That hit my forehead, idiot!
SpongeBob: Sorry! I'm not exactly great at throw-spinning! Just fill the squirter; my mind is starting to spin like a top...
(The girls fill the squirter with water from the sink and squirt it at the robotic vulture, which short-circuits and falls to the ground with SpongeBob.)
SpongeBob: Thank you for that; my mind was spinning crazily. (licks the water) Mmm, tap water; a little less salt.
(The vulture suddenly glows its lights and opens a portal beam that sucks everyone in; they all scream as they go in. The damaged robotic vulture lies on the floor as Shelby's younger identical twin brothers, Chet and Brett, notice the robot.)
Brett: Hey, Chet, look! A robot bird!
Chet: I know, Brett! Let's go play with it!
(Meanwhile...)
Patrick: Okay, I'll do the dance. How tough can it be?
(Patrick goes on the floor and the music plays; it's the same track as when SpongeBob and Patrick were dancing in the pineapple. He raises his arm and moves it back and forth, like if it were disco. He then twirls around, jumps up and down, and moves side to side. He claps his hands and spins with his hand on the ground. He then backflips, does a wave motion with his hands, and leaps towards the stage. As he dances, golden butterflies and lights circle around the stage. He does an Irish dance, and then finally stops. The computer beeps red.)
Phineas: Um, did you do that dance right?
Patrick: I did; why is that big shiny light flashing red?
Computer: Analyzing dance moves. Analyzation complete. Analyzing subjects. (scans everyone) Scan complete. Patrick Star, close friend towards SpongeBob SquarePants. Connection to Portal Box stemmed over dark event in past.
Patrick: Dark event? Oh, no...
(A flashback is shown, with Patrick looking at a piece of paper, and handing an envelope to SpongeBob.)
SpongeBob: What? How could this be?
(Back to present day.)
Computer: SpongeBob located. Heading back towards Portal City with a group of kids. Sending route back.
(The top of the room opens a 5 feet hole as golden lights sprinkle across everyone. A portal activates through the hole as everyone gets sucked in, preparing to head back out into the city.)
Squidward: Where are we going?
Baljeet: Our bodies are heading back to the city. We need to located our friend.
(Everyone continues going up.)
(Meanwhile, SpongeBob and Sandy, along with the kids, now animated, emerge out of the portal.)
SpongeBob: Hey, we're back to the city.
Shelby: Whoa, look at this place! It's like if it were the future!
Sandy: I'll say. It's awesome. I think I want to live here.
SpongeBob: Alright, the rest of our friends are on our way; let's get moving. Oh, by the way, anyone want a chocolate bar?
Cyd: I call dibs!
SpongeBob: Here you go. Let's move.
(The group heads into the city as drones monitor the area. One of them notices the kids, especially SpongeBob, and pulls a "code red" alert; numerous drones then swoop down into the city. A siren blares.)
Sandy: Um, anyone hear that noise?
SpongeBob: The ringing in my ear? No.
Barry: Not that noise; the other one.
SpongeBob: (checks area) Nothing happening here, except for drones heading towards us. Wait. Drones heading towards us?!
(The drones arm themselves with laser guns.)
Sandy: That's not good! We need to move now!
(The lasers fire at the group as they run away, trying to avoid the beams, which are flying in all directions. They take shelter towards an abandoned building and they hide under a desk.)
Sandy: (whispering) Don't make a noise.
(The drones enter the area, attempting to locate the kids. They look, highly nervous at what's happening. A drone fires a laser at the chandelier, making it fall, which damages it. Another drone scans the area, but finds nothing.)
Drone: Check parameters. We have to locate him.
(The drones head upward to find them; afterwards, the group tries to quietly sneak out of the building.)
Shelby: We're safe. Let's get out of here.
(SpongeBob accidentally trips on a lamppost and presses a red button, causing a loud siren to blare and the drones to hear, allowing them to be found.)
SpongeBob: Oh, come on!
(The drones chase after the group again, firing their lasers at them; they head deeper into the city, and they evade the drones by hiding in a fully public building. They sneak out behind the wall they hid, which is inside an elevator.)
Sandy: Hey, we're good. (suddenly, the floor lights up) Oh, what now?
(The floor goes up as blue synchronized lights flicker throughout. The group arrives at the top of the building, which is massively huge. Lots of screens everywhere, water fountains, and a giant electrical globe in the middle, with computers and keyboards surrounded.)
SpongeBob: Whoa. This place is beautiful.
Cyd: Eh, needs a little more improvement, but I agree.
Shelby: What's with the giant globe and computers?
Sandy: I don't know. Let's check.
(The computer scans them all, then beeps.)
Computer: The Chosen One has come.
Barry: Chosen One?
Computer: The Sponge. He is the chosen one?
SpongeBob: Whoa; wait, how am I a chosen one?
Computer: Because your quest links directly to the fate of the multiverse being saved. The Portal Box, a magical relic that allows the user to travel to many universes, at any specific time period possible, is being sought after by a dangerous supervillain.
SpongeBob: (opens the side of his body and takes it out) This box?
Computer: Exactly; the box has been activated; small rifts are beginning to open across universes; if that box winds up in the wrong hands, then everything could be gone.
(A drone menacingly approaches them and tries to fire a missile at them, but the group dodges as it bounces around; another rift opens, which the missile goes through. It splits into a tinier one, which destroys the drone. Out come five people; three girls and two boys; one with brown hair, one blonde, and three with black hair. Their height was in variation.)
SpongeBob: Whoa, who are these people?
Sandy: The rifts. The box is activated, which means that when Patrick accidentally damaged it, the box is releasing portals, which are causing realities to open up with each other.
Brown-haired girl: Where are we? And why is there a talking sea sponge and squirrel?
SpongeBob: Of course we're a talking sea sponge and squirrel; who are you?
Brown-haired girl: I'm Jessie Prescott. I'm a New York nanny to the Ross kids; Emma, Luke, Ravi, and Zuri.
SpongeBob: Looks like you're right, Sandy. That box is opening reality up.
(The group hears a noise. Everyone checks out the window, and notice numerous rifts opening all over the city.)
Sandy: If things weren't bad before, then it just went to full-on catastrophic.
(The lights suddenly flicker and they completely go down. The lights reactivate, but continue flickering. A menacing figure appears, with a claw in his hand. The fingers stick out, as everyone looks in fear, but the floor opens up, and everyone falls down, screaming. The figure jumps out the window, activating his anti-gravity boots. His mask digitally comes off, revealing it to be Anti-SB.)
Anti-SB: You got yourself some new friends. Well played, but it takes two to tango with me. Let the battle begin. (reactivates his helmet and flies off)
Well, that's our chapter! One that was both fun and dark to experience! Just a recommendation, but imagine the Disney Channel characters animated, so as to bring a more zany and funny feeling to the story! SpongeBob and Sandy have met Jessie and the Ross kids! Next chapter will bring even more surprises! Till then, adiós!
