9:30 AM

It was morning, and while normally Saturday's would be the Pizzaplex's busiest day with all hands on deck, Chica and Vanessa decided to take the day off. Chica and Cassidy left Vanessa's house in their respective car's earlier this morning to head back to the Pizzaplex after they both stayed the night at Vanessa's home. Chica than got a phone call from Vanessa when she got back to the Pizzaplex, she asked if Chica was busy that day and wanted to head to the range so she could show Chica how to use a gun. Chica was going to need to learn for the upcoming rescue mission the group was planning.

Although Chica was not a gun person, she agreed and Vanessa came to pick her up.

Jackson's Rifles and Shooting Range

9:45 AM

Vanessa pulled up in her 2035 Toyota Corolla SE, with Chica in the passenger seat.

She pulled into the parking lot of the local shooting range.

"This is one of the best range's in Hurricane. And by the time we're done here, you'll know how to shoot like a pro." Vanessa said as she shut the car off and got out.

"I mean, V, you know I'm not big on guns." Chica said.

"I know your not big on guns Chica, but we need all the help we can get if we are raiding my grandfather's house tonight. I need to know that you can handle a long ranged weapon if need be. So, we're going get you a crash course on how to handle firearms, safely and effectively for defense." Vanessa said.

"Okay, whatever it takes, to save the others." Chica said with determination.

Glamrock Chica was wearing black jeans with brown knee high boots and a green sweater and a red scarf. Vanessa was wearing blue jeans, brown boots, a long sleeve white shirt with a brown jacket.

Vanessa popped the trunk on her car, there were two thick plastic pelican cases. Vanessa grabbed them both, handing them to Chica, she then shut the trunk.

"Okay that's everything, let's go." Vanessa said.

They checked in at the front desk with the rangemaster, Thomas, an older bearded tattooed man. At first the rangemaster gave Chica some weird looks, he wasn't used to seeing animatronics coming into his range.

"Okay Vanessa, I don't need to tell you the rules. I know it's not your first rodeo." Thomas said.

He turned to look at Chica while still talking to Vanessa.

"Vanessa, are you going to make sure she follows the rules?" Thomas asked.

"Yes, and her name is Chica." Vanessa said.

"Chica? I've heard of you, your one of those state of the art robots that's at the Pizzaplex. I didn't think any of you ever left the place. Hope your not plotting to overthrow humanity." Thomas said laughing.

"Hahaha okay…Well all jokes aside, after seeing how advanced we were, the US government decided to give us rights, so yeah, I do get to leave the place from time to time, and drive." Chica said.

"Well then little robot, I mean, lady. You can play a guitar, let's see if you can shoot. Safely, of course." Thomas said.

"Well Thomas, by the time I'm done, she will be a better shot than even you." Vanessa said.

"Heh will see about that. Anyway, go on in." Thomas said letting them enter the shooting range area.

"Don't worry Chica, you'll be shooting like a pro. Will show him." Vanessa whispered to her.

"Okay, I'll try my best V." Chica said.

"Okay, let's begin." Vanessa said bringing Chica into the shooting range area, where other shooters are. Vanessa had put on hearing protection, Chica didn't, since she didn't need it because she's a machine.

Other shooters were firing their weapons, shooting targets and bringing them forward on the track to see their shot placement.

Vanessa and Chica found an unused booth.

Chica set down the weapons cases and Vanessa opened the locks on them with her keys to reveal her usual Beretta M9A1 9mm handgun and in the other case, was a brand new Beretta M9A4, green colored with a red dot sight attached to the top of the slide.

"Holy shit." Chica said looking at the green Beretta.

The weapon was unloaded with it's magazine to the side in the case.

"Okay Chica, that's the one you'll be using today, the red dot sight should help landing shots a little easier, but first, we need to go over safety." Vanessa said.

"Make sure the safety if off before you handle the weapon." Vanessa showed Chica where the safety switch was on the M9A4, and the difference between safety on and safety off.

"Okay got it." Chica responded.

"Next check if there is a round in the chamber already." Vanessa pulled the slide back to show the chamber to Chica. There was no round.

"Okay." Chica responded.

"Now here's how you load it, this is a magazine, not a clip, as they like to call them in movies and video games. This magazine I'm holding is empty, you see no rounds in it. Well we have to put some in it." Vanessa said grabbing a box of 9mm ammunition.

Vanessa showed the chicken woman how to load a magazine with the ammunition, putting one round at a time into the magazine, doing the first 3 rounds into the first magazine, then letting her do the rest.

By the time Chica was done, she had three magazine's ready to go with ammunition.

"Okay, now I put the first magazine into like this?" Chica asked seeking Vanessa's guidance as she tried it.

"Yes like that." Vanessa said as Chica put the magazine into the Beretta's grip, then pulled back the slide to load the first round into the chamber.

Vanessa got the first target paper setup and sent the paper to the back of the range on the motorized track.

"Okay Chica let me show you how to shoot." Vanessa got into a stance holding her firearm with both hands, her trigger finger outside the trigger guard area on the weapon.

"See how I'm holding it? You keep your finger off the trigger until your actually ready to shoot but keep your finger just outside the trigger guard so you still can be ready to shoot if need be. This is called trigger discipline. I want you to try it now." Vanessa told her stepping back.

"Okay." Chica said raising the weapon in her hands, with both hands on it.

"There you go. Your doing good." Vanessa said.

"Okay, can I shoot now?" Chica asked.

"Take your time, line yourself up with where you want the shot to land. You want to go for center mass on the target." Vanessa said.

"Okay here it goes." Chica said taking the first shot.

She managed to land a shot in the stomach area.

"Shit." Chica said.

Thomas laughed behind the bullet proof glass of his control office in front of the range.

"It's okay. Try again. Remember that dodgeball game with Gregory? You managed to hit him with 100 percent accuracy. You know that trick you used." Vanessa said hinting.

"Oh…I remember now. Hold on." Chica said as she brought up a targeting reticle in her HUD. She was able to line up her shot this time around.

She took the shot, it landed in the chest.

"I did it!" Chica said.

"Keep going!" Vanessa said.

Thomas stood quiet behind his control booth.

Chica had a look of determination as she kept firing, her shots continuing to land around the chest area of the dummy target.

She even took a head shot with incredible accuracy. Even though it's often discouraged in realistic self-defense shooting situations for a variety of reasons.

"Another one." Chica said. As Vanessa pulled the paper back and put a new one on the track sending it back to the range.

Chica hit the magazine release on the Beretta M9A4, it dropped out, she then quickly slapped in another magazine.

Everyone in the range stopped as she kept eating through targets.

Vanessa grinned.

"So is there any other types of weapons I can try?" Chica asked with confidence.

Thomas just laughed and then came out to the range with an MP5A3 9mm Sub-Machine Gun in a case, a select-fire weapon, most civilians can't own, except law enforcement. He was allowed to own the weapon with his special license as a gun dealer.

"Okay little lady, you proved yourself with a handgun, but can you handle this?" Thomas said readying the weapon as he put on his hearing protection.

"Watch this." Thomas said getting into an unused booth.

He put a 30 round magazine in and shouldered the weapon, put the safety switch on full auto.

He took several shots at a time, all 4 rounds in the burst landed in the chest area on the target. He put the weapon safety back on and set it down, then pulled the target back to him to see his results.

The grouping was impressive. He grinned at Chica.

"I want to try that, if you don't mind." She said grinning.

"By all means miss…." Thomas grinned, handing her the weapon.

"Do you want a tutorial?" Thomas mockingly asked.

"Nah I watched you down to every last millisecond." Chica shot back.

Vanessa setup a new target for Chica.

"Okay Chichi. It's all you. You got this." Vanessa cheered.

Chica shouldered the weapon. Aiming with her own targeting reticle in her HUD.

She took the safety off and opened fire on the target, strategically putting several rounds into the chest and neck.

If Roxy could see me now….. Chica thought as her confidence grew with each shot.

While Chica continued shooting and now setting up her own targets, Vanessa looked on with a smile.

Thomas looked at Vanessa, and just laughed.

"Okay you got me. The chicken can shoot." Thomas said.

"That's all I wanted to hear." Vanessa said.

Chica continued to practice.

Eventually she gave the MP5A3 back to Thomas when she was done.

"I can't believe I'm saying it, but I'm starting to like this." Chica said.

Thomas apologized to Chica for how he doubted her.

Vanessa told Chica the Beretta M9A4, was now her handgun. But she could not legally own it yet until she is licensed, but Vanessa knew someone at OAOS could help expedite that process before the coming hours. And Vanessa could fill out the paper work to have the ownership of the M9A4 transferred to Chica.

12:00 PM

Both Vanessa and Chica were getting ready to leave the range, Chica now felt more confident in her shooting abilities, and while she felt she was not as good as Vanessa or Roxanne from her own perspective, Vanessa gave her high praise and Chica looked forward to being able to own the M9A4 Vanessa was gifting to her.

"Vanessa, thank you." Chica said during the car ride home.

"Don't thank me. That was all you Chica. I was just showing you how to use the weapon. That skill was all you. You did great, your more than ready." Vanessa said.

"Really?" Chica asked.

"Yup. Really. Now I'm starving, want something on the way back?" Vanessa said.

"V when it comes to food, you know what I'm going to say." Chica said.

"Uno's pizza?" Vanessa asked.

"Unos. Let's go." Chica said as they took off for the restaurant.
