Lillian Potter woke up to the sound of her own cries. She got up and wiped her dried tears. She hoped she woke up from this nightmare and it all be a dream. That her brother, Harry, never died. That her brother was there with her, still joking about being the older brother. She pictured his laugh and smile that warmed her heart, even on the gloomiest days.

She wished the war was won by the good side. She knew that yesterday was all true though, when she opened her eyes to see herself in the Malfoy manor.

She stayed in her bed for what seemed like hours, not leaving or even thinking of leaving. She laid there, hoping that she could drift off and not live in this reality any longer.

Lillian heard a knock on the bedroom door and sensed Draco barging in. "Hey. What do you want for lunch?"

"I'm not hungry."

"Please, Lillian. You need to eat." He paused. "My mom wants to give you a tour of the manor later today."

"Tell her I don't feel like it. My brother just died!" Tears began to start flow down her cheeks again.

"I know and I'm sorry."

"Do your parents know?"

"Know what?"

"That I'm Harry Potter's sister?"

"Of course. I've talked alot about you to my parents through the years, about Harry Potter and you."

"What do they think? About me?"

"You are a half blood. They don't like you as much as I hoped. Just please, if you're scared or nervous I'll go with you."

"I just-" Lillian told him with a sigh. "I don't trust your parents."

"I understand." Draco said. "Come here." He grabbed her hand as she placed her feet on the ground beside the bed. After she stood, he led her to the wardrobe. "Pick out something." Lillian gulped as she searched for the right outfit. Most were black fancy clothes that she had never wore in her life. She decided to wear a simple black dress, unlike her usual fashion taste. She had always been a simple person and wasn't a fan of dresses but she supposed it's never too late to try new things.

Lillian headed to the bathroom as Draco waited patiently for her to come out of the restroom. A minute later, she stepped out in the dress. Draco stared back up at her in delight and told her a compliment he truly believed. "You look beautiful."

She made a shy smile. "Thank you."

"Let's go down stairs, together." He took her hand and stood by her side, leading them both out of the room into the hallway.

Their steps were in sync as they walked down the stairs. They got to the bottom and they both headed to the dining room. There was a long dining table which seemed ancient. Draco was clearly uncomfortable as he glared at the room. "What is it?" Lillian asked in worry.

"This is where Volmemort killed Professor Burbage right in front of me." He said in a cold voice.

Lillian gulped in distress as she inched closer to Draco. "I'm sorry." She told him, trying to comfort him.

Moony suddenly arrived in the room with two bowls. "I have your food, master. I have soup. I didn't know what to bring you since you hadn't told me."

Draco grumbled under his breath, slightly annoyed at the elf. "That's fine."

As they ate together, they talked mainly about the war and Harry, and how the school was now in shambles. The topic of conversation was sad so they stumbled onto a lighter topic. It felt odd just the two of them without the rest of his friends and the other students.

Draco's mother came in to see her son and Lillian laughing together. It was the first time she heard Draco genuinely laugh in years. She loved that the girl could make her son happy but hated her at the same time. After all, this girl was a half blood and the sister of Harry Potter. The Dark Lord wanted her dead. But she knew Draco loved her.

"Having fun you two?" She asked.

Lillian's stopped giggling instantly and fell silent.

"We're just eating." Draco mentioned, his mood suddenly shifting to be more serious.

Narcissa spoke, looking toward her son's friend. "Lillian, we don't know how long you will be staying but I'd like to show you our manor." She didn't know what that statement implied. Would they kill her, or kick her out once they were in a compromised position? She didn't question her.

Instead, Lillian nodded her head. "Yes, ma'am." She seemed troubled as usual around his parents.

Narcissa took Draco and Lillian through their home. Draco always had to add in a comment any time he could about the house.

They went outside to show the exterior of the house and the landscape. For Lillian, the best part of the tour was introducing her to the woods and field. "We have almost one hundred acres of land, most of it being woods." Draco explained. "Although mother likes to say the forest is too dangerous so we don't go in it."

"Wow!" Lillian repeated. "One hundred acres."

"It is dangerous, Draco. There could be werewolves and other creatures out there." His mother announced.

Draco gulped, thinking of the forest.

Lillian mentioned. "You are frightened."

"No! I'm not!" Draco replied in frustration. Lillian slightly chuckled.

Narcissa stated to Lillian. "Also, every night we have dinner in the dining room. I expect you to be there."

The last thing Lillian wanted to do was sit down at the Malfoy's dinner table. She knew if that's how she felt about them, then Draco's parents, especially his father, felt the same. Voldemort hated her brother. Of course the Malfoy's would hate her as well. Their master had just murdered her brother. She wouldn't say she hated Draco's parents, but she disliked them; knowing that they had indirectly caused the death of her beloved brother, Harry.

The silence was deafening as the four ate their food at the dining table. Suddenly, a door slammed and Moony approached. "The news!" She peeped, holding the newspaper in her hand.

Lucius spoke. "Give me the-"

"Right away!" She squealed, handing the paper to Lucius. His face was unreadable as he stared at the newspaper and read through it. Lillian jumped as Lucius slammed the paper down on the table, a wicked smile on his face. "Looks like we won the war."

"What?" Lillian whispered in disbelief.

"Don't believe me? Look!" He threw it at her, her arms barely able to catch it. Lillian read the headlines in shock. It couldn't be true. This is worse than she feared. It was horrific.

The Dark Lord Reigns

She continued.

Voldemort's enemy, Harry Potter, was defeated yesterday and the Dark Lord is now unstoppable. His war has been won.

Tears came flooding, dripping down her cheeks and onto the newspaper. She skimmed the rest until she found another headline which caused her to shiver in fear.

Mudbloods, Half-bloods, and Blood Traitors wanted dead or alive

Lillian's heart sank in dread. She knew they were going to turn her in. She would be hurt and most likely killed by Voldemort. She continued to read the article.

Voldemort and his followers have killed many in the war. He has demanded anyone who is muggle born or do not believe in his cause to be reported. Rewards are great, including the servitude of blood traitors and half bloods. Any muggle and mudblood caught will be condemned to death.

Lillian couldn't comprehend the words she read on the page.

"Will you mind reading the paper for us all, Lillian?" She was repelled by Lucius's demanding voice, making her shutter.

Lillian disobeyed Draco's father by leaning over to his son, and handing the paper over to the boy. He silently read it, eyes widened every few seconds in concern or confusion. He passed the newspaper to his mother who sat across from him. She read the two articles, every once in a while glancing up at Draco.

Lucius's eyes were fixated on Lillian as she looked down at her plate, fearful of what the man was capable of doing to her. Her mind raced. Would he kill me or turn me in? Or perhaps kill me, then turn in my dead body?

"Well, now that dinner is finished, I think I know what my next task is to complete." Lillian's heart was beating out of her chest. She wanted to just crawl under the table and forget she ever existed.

Lucius managed to stubble out of his chair, still staring back at the girl. "Father-" Draco only could get the one word out of his mouth before his father spoke again.

"You heard the news. All half-bloods have to be turned in and I think he most certainly would like the other Potter."

"Lucius!" Narcissa snapped as she stood by his side, tugging the man away from the table. "Can I speak with you?" The man's eyes were still fixated on Lillian. She snapped. "Alone?!"

He didn't respond as his wife escorted him to the nearby room.

"It's going to okay." Draco reassured Lillian as she practically launched herself in his arms crying, hoping that this madness will all end.
