David stood there staring at the old man in surprise. He had never seen this old man before but somehow this man knew who he was and where he came from. He also knew about Emma which was worrisome. "So Prince Charming are you going to let me in or are you just going to stand there with that shocked look on your face" the old man said. David thought it over a little bit. He didn't know if he could trust this man and he definitely didn't want him anywhere near Emma. The old man rolled his eyes and pushed past David into the apartment. "Hey" David yelled. "Shut the door. We have things to talk about" the old man said. David shut the door. The last thing he needed was the neighbors hearing this man call him Prince Charming. The old man spotted Emma eating cake. "Hello Emma it's nice to meet you" the old man said. Emma was confused. She had never seen this man before. "Are you a friend of my dad's" she asked. The old man shook his head and laughed.

"No your dad doesn't even know who I am but trust me I'm a friend" the old man said. "Stay away from her" David said stepping in front of Emma and going into overprotective dad mode. The old man rolled his eyes again. The prince was really stubborn. "Now you are going to tell me who the hell you are and what you want or I will arrest you for harassing me and my daughter" David said. The old man sighed. "I already told you I'm a friend" the old man said. "Well if you're a "friend" you won't mind telling us what your name is" David said. The old man shook his head. "My name is not important what is important is that Emma here has a curse to break" the old man said. Emma looked between her dad and this old man. "Dad he's not talking about the curse you told me about when I was 7 is he? I thought you made it up" Emma said. "The curse is very real and you are the savior" the old man said. Emma looked to her father. "Dad how does he know the story you made up" Emma asked.

"I didn't make it up. It's all true" David said looking at Emma. Emma laughed to herself. "Come on Dad your telling me your Prince Charming and mom is Snow White and your kingdom is cursed because of your brother and his crazy wife" Emma said in disbelief. David just gave her a serious look. He didn't have to lie to her anymore. "It's OK dad I know mom left because she didn't want me" Emma said looking away from her dad and the other man tearing up a bit. David's heart broke a little bit. She really believed Snow didn't love her. He hugged her. "Emma your mother didn't leave because she didn't want you. She loves you so much" David said. Emma broke out of the hug. "Yea well then why isn't she here" Emma snapped. Before David could say anything the old man stepped forward. "If I may Emma perhaps this will help" he said taking out a book both David and Emma recognized. They both stared at it in shock.

"Where did you get that" David asked. "Let's just say it popped up out of nowhere and I knew I had to find you" the old man said. He handed the book to Emma. "I believe this belongs to you" he said handing the book to Emma. She took it and flipped to a page she knew all to well. The picture of Snow White and Prince Charming together. Her mother and father. She didn't know why but she believed the man. "So your telling me everything my father always told me is true. He's Prince Charming and my mother is" Emma started but stopped herself from finishing the sentence. "Snow White. Yes and right now she is trapped in a very powerful curse along with the rest of the kingdom" the old man said. "How do you know all this? I've never seen you before" David said. "You don't know me but I know you Prince Charming" the old man said. "It's David here" David said. "Very well David" the old man said. "Did you know my mother" Emma asked.

"No but your mother and father were very well known throughout the kingdom. They were great rulers" the old man said. "How did you know where to find us" David asked. The old man laughed. "I've been following you guys ever since you escaped the curse with Emma. You see I also escaped the curse" he said. "How did you know we escaped the curse" David asked. "I didn't at first but then I saw your names in the newspaper and how you two were found on the side of the road and I just knew I had to find you guys. I waited 18 years and I decided now was the time to finally approach you guys since Emma will be breaking the curse very soon" the old man said. "How do you know about Emma being the savior" David asked. "The dark one told me" the old man said. "Rumpelstiltskin" David said under his breath. The old man shook his head. "He told me to find you two on your daughter's 18th birthday" he said.

"Why you" David asked. "I made a deal with him to try to save my family. Your not the only one who's been separated from your family because of this curse" the old man said. "I'm sorry" David said knowing how the old man felt. At least he had Emma all these years so he wasn't so lonely. The old man smiled at him. "You can fix all this Emma. All you have to do is go to Storybrooke and break the curse" he said. "Storybrooke" both David and Emma said at the same time. The old man nodded. "That's where everyone is trapped" he said. "I've never heard of Storybrooke before" David said. The old man pulled out a map. "Here you are going to need this. Storybrooke is in Maine. I took the liberty of outlining the route you should take to get there" the old man said. David took the map from the old man and looked at it. Emma was staring at the picture of her mother the whole time. All she ever wanted was to meet her mother. This was her chance. "Dad we have to go" she said.

"I don't know. I've been looking for everyone for 18 years and haven't been able to find them and this guy just so happens to have a map of where the curse brought everyone" David said skeptical. "They're all there. Your friends your mother your wife" the old man said. David looked at him suspiciously. "Daddy please" Emma said. David looked back at Emma and saw that she was giving him that look that reminded him of his 5 year old princess that he could never say no to. "Fine we'll go. I just have to make a quick phone call to my job" David said. David pulled out his phone but the old man took it from him. "I already took care of it. They know you won't be coming back. I transferred you to the Storybrooke police department" he said. David looked confused. "Don't worry they think you and Emma are moving. They don't know that your Prince Charming" the old man said. "Thanks I think" David said taking his phone back.

After that the old man left. He refused to go with David and Emma and said he would be there when she broke the curse. Emma got her stuff ready excitedly. She knew this man was telling the truth. She didn't know why but she knew it in her gut that he was. Which means her father was telling the truth the whole time to. She owed him an apology. She packed the book of her parents and everyone else's stories in her suitcase. As she was packing she found her old photo album she made for her mother. She didn't want her to miss anything so she made a photo album so her mother could see all the memories her and her father made together. Emma had secretly continued it throughout the last couple of years holding on to the hope that someday she would meet her mother and get to give it to her. It had everything her and her father did together that Emma thought was worth noting. She hugged it close to her chest. She packed it in her suitcase and left the room.

David had driven him and Emma to the storage unit he had. "Dad what are we doing here? We're supposed to be heading to Storybrooke" Emma said. "I know but I thought you would want your present first" David said getting out of his truck. Emma got out and followed David as he unlocked the unit. "Close your eyes" David said. "Dad you really didn't have to" she said. "I wanted to now close your eyes" David said. Emma did as she was told and closed her eyes. David opened the storage unit. "Happy birthday princess" David said. Emma opened her eyes and was shocked by what she saw. Sitting inside the storage unit was a yellow volkswagon bug. "Are you serious" Emma asked. David smiled at her. "Yea I figured since you passed your driving test last month and since you graduated from school I thought you deserved something nice" David said. Emma ran up to him hugged him and kissed him. "You are the best daddy in the world" she said. He attached the car to the back of his truck and him and Emma drove in his truck to Storybrooke. They arrived two hours later not knowing what was waiting for them in the town.

At the mayors house James just arrived home and ran into the house as it was raining outside. "Regina Henry I'm home" he called out to his wife and son. He walked into the living room and saw Henry sitting on the couch watching tv. "Hey dad" Henry said as James walked in. "Hey where's your mother" James asked. "In the kitchen making dinner" Henry said. James left his son watching tv and walked into the kitchen. He saw Regina at the stove cooking dinner. He came up behind her wrapped his arms around her and started kissing her neck. "I missed you" he said. Regina smiled and turned around. "Yea we missed you to. So what did you do today" Regina asked. "I listened to the problems of those annoying dwarfs. I wish we could have just disposed of them when we cast the curse. I hate them" James said. Regina smiled at him. "It's better this way. There living they're own hell while we are happily married with a son we love who loves us and the rest of those annoying peasants are unhappy" Regina said kissing James. James smiled into the kiss. "Your right the curse was a success. We got everything we wanted" he said. "For now until your brother comes and brings the savior with him and we lose everything" Regina said looking away. James grabbed Regina's face and looked into her eyes. "Hey I promise I won't let my brother and some stupid savior come and run all of this for us" James said. "He said she would come when she was 18. It's been 18 years. James I don't want us to lose everything we have. We're finally happy" Regina said. James kissed her passionately. "Don't worry we won't. I know how to deal with my brother" James said hugging Regina and holding her close to him. James had spent the last 18 years looking for David and his daughter. He wanted to take care of them so that they weren't a threat to the curse. David was good at running and hiding. Every time he found David he would move somewhere else and took him forever to find him again. James would never admit this to his wife but he was scared to. Scared that everything they built would be taken away from them. James would not let his brother come in and ruin his life again. He was going to protect Regina and Henry no matter what even if it meant getting rid of his brother and his niece forever.
