Emma woke up the next morning to a man whistling. She looked around her at the source of the whistling and realized she was in jail. "What are you looking at sister" Leroy asked. Emma recognized him as the dwarf Grumpy. This wasn't how she imagined meeting the dwarf. This wasn't how she imagined meeting anyone from the enchanted forest come to think of it. Emma sat up in the bed she was laying on. "Hey Leroy manners. We have a guest. So you are David's daughter" Marco said as Emma stood up and moved closer to the bars. "Yea" Emma said looking around. "Where is my father" she asked. "He went with Graham to get breakfast. Asked me to keep an eye on you" Marco said. Emma looked at the man. She recognized him as Geppetto. "David seems like a nice man. He is very lucky to have a daughter. Some of us weren't able to have kids at all" Marco said. "Consider yourself lucky. They're all brats. Who needs them" Leroy said.

"I'd give anything to for one" Marco said. "My wife and I, we tried for many years, but it was not meant to be" Marco said to Emma. "I'm sorry" she said. She made a mental note to tell her father that they had to find Pinocchio. He had to be around here somewhere. Everyone else was. "Well, cry me a river" Leroy said. "Emma your up good" David said walking into the police station with breakfast for Emma. He put the bag on his desk and walked over to Emma's cell. "Thanks for keeping an eye on her" David said to Marco. "It was no problem at all" Marco said as David unlocked Emma's cell and let her out. "Jail seriously dad" Emma said. "I didn't want to leave you at the house by yourself and I had to work. Plus this way I could make sure you didn't do anything stupid like drive into a sign again" David said. David directed Emma to his desk. She sat down in the chair and started eating her breakfast. David laughed. "It looks like someone was hungry" he said as Emma scarfed down her food.

"Seriously she gets arrested for drunk driving and she gets out but I get into a little scuffle I'm stuck in jail" Leroy said. "Your scuffle wasn't little. The man ended up in the hospital" Graham said. "Well that's what he gets for calling me short" Leroy said. "I wasn't drunk" Emma said. "Yea and she wasn't arrested. I just needed her to stay here so I could keep an eye on her" David said. "Well if you weren't drunk then you need to give your license back. I don't know many drivers who drive into signs sober" Leroy said. "That's enough Leroy. If I'm going to let you out, you need to behave. Put on a smile and stay out of trouble" Graham said unlocking Leroy's cell. Leroy walked out of the cell putting on a smile as he went. Leroy walked out of the station. Graham looked over at Emma. "Your lucky you have such a good father. He vouched for you. Now you want to tell me what happened" Graham said. Emma looked between her father and Graham. "There was a wolf was in the middle of the road" Emma said.

"A wolf. Right" Graham said clearly not believing her but he dropped it. James and Regina walked into the station. "Graham? We have a problem. Henry's run away. We have to" Regina stopped when she saw David standing next to Graham and a girl sitting in the chair behind his desk. "Mr. Nolan you're here early" Regina said. "Yea well I don't want to make a bad impression on my first day" David said. "Of course you don't" James said rolling his eyes. He looked at Emma and smiled. "You must be Emma. It's a pleasure to meet you" James said walking over to Emma. David stepped in front of Emma. "Step back" David said. "Come on David I just want to meet my niece" James said smiling at David. "That's as far as you go" David said. Graham looked between the two brothers and saw the very obvious tension between them and decided to intervene. "You said Henry was missing. Me and my partner here will find him won't we David" Graham said. David turned to Graham. "Yea we will" he said.

"Partner? Wow you really are scrapping the bottom of the barrel aren't you Graham" Regina said and James laughed. "If you don't want me to help that's fine but you two know better than anybody that I'm really good at finding people. Let's call it a skill" David said pulling up a chair and sitting down next to Emma. He just smiled at James and Regina. They looked at each other annoyed. David was very good at finding people especially members of his family and even though they didn't like it Henry was part of his family. Regina rolled her eyes. "Can we just focus on finding Henry. He wasn't in his room this morning" Regina said. "Did you try his friends" David asked. "He doesn't have any. He's kind of a loner. We're the only people he's got" James said. "Lucky him" David said under his breath. Regina and James turned to look at him. "Do you have something to say" James asked. David shrugged his shoulders. "Not really just that if you guys were all I had I would run away to" David said.

"You want to say that to my face" James said walking towards David. David got up from his chair and walked up to James. The two brothers stared at each other faces inches away from each other. "Wherever Henry is he probably doesn't want to be found. I mean I wouldn't with parents like you" David said. James laughed. "Well at least my son didn't end up in jail like your daughter here did. She's lucky her mother's not around. She would be so disappointed in you for how you raised her and at your daughter for the way she turned out. So tell me Davey who's the worst father" James said. David went to punch James but James grabbed his arm. "You only get one free shot" James said. He twisted David's arm and then punched him in the face. David tackled him to the ground and the two brothers fought each other letting out their frustrations with each other. "Hey" Graham yelled running over and pulling David away from James while Regina held back her husband.

"Would you two stop? Henry is missing. We don't have time for whatever crap is going on between the two of you" Graham yelled at the two brothers. "Graham's right. We have to find our son" Regina said. She turned to James who had bruises on his face. "Are you OK" she asked stroking his face. "Yea I'm fine. We can't all be so lucky to have a healthy complete family. I love you" James said kissing Regina making sure David saw. David pushed himself out of Graham's arms and walked over to his desk furious. Emma looked at her father's face. He was just as bruised as James was. "Are you OK dad" Emma asked. "Yes I'm fine" David snapped. Emma looked hurt. David realized what he did and looked at Emma. "Sorry I shouldn't have snapped at you. I'm fine" David said pulling Emma into a hug. When they broke from the hug Emma looked at James and Regina. "Henry has to have someone else he's close to. All kids have friends" Emma said.

"Did you check his computer? If he's close to someone, he'd be emailing them" Emma said. "How would you know this little girl" Regina asked. Emma looked at David. "Well it's like my dad said we're good at finding people. It's what we do" Emma said. David smiled proudly at Emma. "OK here's an idea. How about we put all of the stuff that happened in the past behind us and we find our son" James said holding out his hand to David. "Truce" James said. David thought about it for a second. He didn't trust either one of them but like it or not they were family and Henry was his nephew and he was out there somewhere. Henry shouldn't suffer because him and James hated each other. He was just a kid after all. David thought about Emma at that age and how if she had gone missing he would do anything it took to find her even working with two people he absolutely hated. David took James hand and shook it. "Truce" he said.

James and Regina took David Emma and Graham to their house and up to Henry's room. When they got there James gave David Henry's laptop. David opened Henry's inbox. "Smart kid. Cleared his inbox. I'm smart, too. A little hard disk recovery utility I like to use" David said pulling a jump drive out of the pocket of his jeans. He placed in the side of the computer. Emma and Graham were watching David work while Regina was pacing on the other side of the room. James pulled her into his arms. "We'll find him I promise" James said. Regina shook his head. "He's out there all alone. What if he's hurt or scared or confused. I'm just so worried about him" Regina said snuggling into James's chest. "I know so am I but we both know David is annoyingly the best at finding people. He'll find him" James said. Regina smiled and kissed him. "I'm a bit more old-fashioned in my techniques. Pounding the pavement. Knocking on doors. That sort of thing" Graham said.

"Believe me I prefer that to but sometimes you have to grow with the times. Plus technology isn't all that bad. It has it's uses" David said. "Like finding Henry" James asked. "If anyone can do it my dad can" Emma said. Emails started to show up on the laptop. "I thought you guys said he didn't have any friends" David said. "He doesn't" Regina said. "Well he's sure got a lot of emails on his laptop for someone with no friends" David said. David looked and saw that the email's were all from one person. "Mary Margaret Blanchard. Who's Mary Margaret Blanchard" David asked. "Henry's teacher" Regina said. Emma stared at the screen in shook that her mother was sending emails to Henry. James and Regina looked at each other worried. Just then Graham's phone rang. He answered it. When he hung up he looked at David. "There's been a disturbance at the local bar. I should check it out. Will you be OK here" he asked.

"Yea I'm going to go talk to this Mary Margaret Blanchard person" David said. "OK I'll see you back at the station" Graham said leaving. "OK let's go talk to Mary" David said getting up from his seat on the edge of Henry's bed. "Actually we'll take it from here" James said as him and Regina went to leave. "Wait a second. I said I would help you and I'm going to help" David said. "That's really not necessary anymore" Regina said. "What are you guys hiding" David said knowing there was some reason they didn't want him to continue looking for Henry. "She's mom" Emma said. All of the adults looked at Emma. "What are you talking about" David asked. "Mary Margaret Blanchard is mom. They obviously didn't want you to know dad" Emma said. David turned back around and glared at James and Regina. "Is that true" David growled anger flaring up in him. "Yes it's true. Your wife is a teacher and she has no idea who you are. Now let's deal with more important things like finding our son" James said.

David and Emma were driving to the school in David's truck. This was it. After 18 long years David was finally going to see his wife again. She wasn't going to remember him though. That was hard for David to think about. "I get it you know" David said. "Get what" Emma said. "Why it was so hard for you when you finally met your mother and she had no idea who you were. I keep thinking finally after all these years I'm going to see her again but she's going to have no idea who I am. She'll have no idea what we went through together or that we love each other. Our whole life with each other has been erased and there's nothing I can do about it" David said. "Yes there is" Emma said. David looked at Emma. "I can break the curse and reunite our family" Emma said. "You will. I know you will. I just hope we're not to late" David said. "What do you mean" Emma asked. "I hope she doesn't have a new husband and loves someone else. I don't know if I would be able to survive that" David said.

David and Emma arrived at the school first with James and Regina arriving 5 minutes later. David was really anxious. He was going to see his wife for the first time in 18 years and he had no idea what she was like. He waited for this moment for so long and he was so nervous. What if in this new cursed life Snow had she was with someone and they were happy? What if he was 18 years to late? What if she didn't like him? All these thoughts ran through David's head as James and Regina led him and Emma through the school to Mary Margaret's classroom. Emma looked at her father. She had never seen him so nervous before. Usually he was so confident and sure of himself but know he was nervous and unsure of himself. It was weird for Emma to see. She knew they would be OK. They were Snow White and Prince Charming. They were true love. Once Emma broke the curse the three of them would be a happy family.

In Mary Margaret's classroom she was teaching her class about the importance of a birdhouse for birds. "As we build our bird houses, remember, what you're making is a home, not a cage. A bird is free and will do what it will. This is for them, not us. They're loyal creatures" Mary Margaret said as she stuck her hand with the blue bird on it out of the window. The bird flew up to a blue birdhouse right outside the window. She turned back to face her class. "If you love them and they love you, they will always find you" she said. The school bell rang and the kids got up out of their seats. "We'll pick this up after recess. No running" she said. The kids starting leaving the room. Mary Margaret walked over to her desk. A little girl handed her a pair. "Why, thank you" she said. James and Regina walked through the sea of kids over to Mary Margaret's desk. "Mr. and Mrs. Mills? What are you guys doing here" Mary Margaret asked.

"Where is our son" Regina asked. "Henry? I assumed he was home sick with you guys" Mary Margaret said as David and Emma walked into the classroom. David just stared with his mouth open. He couldn't believe it. After 18 years his wife was standing in front of him. He had found her just like he promised on the night he went through the wardrobe with Emma. He would always find her no matter what. She had shorter hair now but she was still just as beautiful as she'd always been. "Do you think we'd be here talking to you if he was" James said. Mary Margaret looked behind Regina and James to Emma and the man standing next to her. She looked between him and James not believing what she was seeing. James rolled his eyes. "Yes we're twins. The dumb one's name is David and that's his daughter" James started. "Emma" Mary Margaret finished for him. Emma smiled at her. Regina rolled her eyes. "Where is Henry? I know you know where he is" she said.

"I have no idea" Mary Margaret said. "Well then why have you been emailing Henry" James asked. "As you well know, Henry is a special boy. So smart. So creative. He's also lonely. He needs someone to talk to. I recommended some really good fairy tales for him to read" Mary Margaret said. "What he needs is to talk to his parents not some friendless loveless loser like yourself" Regina said. "Hey that's enough" David yelled finally finding his voice. He wasn't going to let them tear his wife down anymore. "Oh would you look at that he speaks" James said. "This is a waste of time" Regina said walking away and knocking some books off a desk as she went. James followed her but stopped right before the door. "Miss Blanchard I would suggest you stop talking to my son and filling his heads with ideas. We wouldn't anyone to have an accident now would we" James said knocking over a globe. "Oops" he said and left the room laughing.

Mary Margaret walked over to the books and started picking them up. David and Emma helped her. "Sorry about that. My brother can be a real dick sometimes. Well most of the time actually" David said. "No it's OK. Thank you for sticking up for me. They're really intimidating" Mary Margaret said looking at the globe. David turned around and looked at the globe and anger rose up inside him. James and Regina ruled this town through fear. Well not anymore. Not while he was here. "I won't let them hurt you I promise" he said. Mary Margaret looked up at him and smiled. "Somehow I believe that" she said. David smiled at her remembering when Snow said that to him. Emma smiled at her parents. Even while she was cursed her mother still felt a connection to her father. "I fear this is partially my fault" Mary Margaret said. David shook his head. "None of this is your fault. It's theirs" he said. "Why did you recommend Henry fairytales to read? How are they supposed to help" Emma asked.

"What do you think stories are for" Mary Margaret asked. "I was just asking because I love fairytales. My favorite is Snow White" Emma said looking at David. He smiled at her. "Mine to" Mary Margaret said. "Anyway these stories, the classics, there's a reason we all know them. They're a way for us to deal with our world. A world that doesn't always make sense." Mary Margaret said as her David and Emma left the classroom and started walking down the hall. "Henry hasn't had the easiest life" Mary Margaret said. "Yea well having to deal with those two everyday I don't blame him for running away" David said. "They love him in their own special way. Look I recommended he read fairytales because I wanted Henry to have the most important thing anyone can have. Hope. Believing in even the possibility of a happy ending is a very powerful thing" Mary Margaret said. David smiled. That sounded like his Snow. "You know where he is, don't you" Emma asked.

"You guys might want to check his castle" Mary Margaret said. "His castle" David said confused. "Yea he built a castle that he sometimes likes to spend alone time in imagining those fairytales are real" Mary Margaret said. David and Emma shared a knowing look. "Look I really got to go. It was nice seeing you again Emma and it was nice meeting you David" Mary Margaret said walking away. "Where's his castle" David asked. "Check the beach" Mary Margaret said. She walked down the hall and out of sight. David and Emma walked out of the school and saw James standing by David's truck. "Finally took you guys long enough" James said. "What are doing here? Don't you and Regina have lives to destroy or something" David said. "Yes but first I have to find my son. Regina got called away on business so it looks like I'm going with you guys" James said. "Your wife has more important business than finding her son. Figures" David said.

James gave David a serious look. "Watch yourself. Regina loves Henry. Don't ever question that. Now do you know where my son is" James asked. Emma nodded. "Yea we were just heading over there" she said. "Perfect let's go" James said heading for the front seat. David grabbed James's arm roughly and pulled him back. "Ever threaten my wife like that again and you'll have to deal with me and I won't go easy on you next time and Emma gets the front" David said as Emma got into the passenger seat. James pulled his arm out of David's grasp. "I'm not worried. Remember what happened the night the curse was cast. We wouldn't want a repeat of that now would we" James said. He leaned in close to David's ear. "Also we both know I would have kicked your ass in the sheriffs station if Graham didn't get involved" he whispered. James lightly slapped David on the cheek walked over to the truck and got into the back seat. David sighed. He really hated his brother. He got in the truck and drove to the beach.

In the enchanted forest Snow was in labor. Her screams could be heard throughout the entire castle. Charming was right by her side holding her hand while Doc was trying to deliver the baby. Outside the castle Regina and dragon James was on their way to Snow and Charming's castle. James flew ahead of Regina's carriage. He wanted to make sure Snow Charming and their baby didn't get away and he was faster than the carriage. "I can't have this baby now" Snow said. Charming looked over at Doc. "Doc, do something" he said as Doc started dabbing Snow's head with a damp towel. "It's gonna be OK. The wardrobe's almost finished. Just hold on" Charming said. Regina continued to race to the castle. Snow screamed again. The queen was getting closer by the minute. Just then Geppetto ran into the room. "It's ready" he said. Charming looked at him hopeful. Maybe they could still pull their plan off. Regina was almost there. Charming started to pick Snow up. They were getting to that wardrobe one way or the other. "It's too late. We can't move her" Doc said. Charming looked at him sadly and put Snow down. Regina would be there any minute. "Push" Charming said to Snow. Snow gave one last big push and within seconds baby Emma was born. Emma was crying while Snow and Charming smiled at her. Thunder crashed outside their castle. The curse was getting closer. Emma continued to cry. Snow held her while Charming looked on happy with his new family that was just built. He wouldn't let anything destroy his family. They smiled at each other and Charming kissed Snow on the forehead. A thought came to Snow's head. "The wardrobe. It can only take two of us" Snow said. Snow and Charming heard their knights screaming. James and Regina were here. They heard Swords clashing against each other outside of their room. They looked to the door. Charming thought for a minute. "Come on" he said picking Snow up. "Charming what are you doing" Snow asked. Charming looked down at Snow in his arms. "You and Emma are going through that wardrobe. Hold on to Emma tight" Charming said as his eyes glew yellow and he transformed into a dragon with Snow in his claw. He flew out the open window to the balcony just as guards burst through the door looking for the happy family. Charming flew across the way to the other side of the castle where the wardrobe was. When he got there he landed on a different balcony and transformed back into his human form. The wardrobe was in the room at the end of the next hallway. Charming looked down the next hallway. Two black knights were there looking for them. He couldn't let anything happen to Snow or Emma . Charing walked over to Snow and put his hands on her face. "Hide in the secret passageway in Emma's nursery. I'll come get you when I've taken care of the guards and then you and Emma will go through the wardrobe" Charming said. Snow shook her head. "No I'm not leaving you. I won't" Snow said crying. "You have to" Charming said. "You'll be cursed though" Snow cried. "I know but I also know you and Emma will come back and save me just like I did you" Charming said. "It'll be 18 years" Snow cried. "What's 18 years when you have eternal love" Charming asked now crying to. Snow kissed him. "I love you" she said. "I love you too" Charming said. He kissed Emma's forehead. "When she's older tell her how much I love her" Charming said in tears. "I will" Snow promised. "Now go" Charming said. Snow ran into Emma's nursery and down the secret passage only she and Charming knew about. Charming wiped away his tears. He was going to lose his family but it would only be temporary. In 18 years they would find him and save him. Charming walked down the hallway into the other hallway. The black knights looked at him. He glared at the knights in front of him. He was pissed he was losing Snow and Emma and these guards were the perfect people to take it out on. He raised his hand and his sword appeared in it. Charming started fighting the knights their swords clashing with each other. He kicked the one guard away and punched the other guard in the face. He clashed swords with the guards yet again. He kicked the one guard away and turned to the other guard. He stabbed that guard and he fell to the floor. Charming turned around to the other guard and the guard stabbed him in the shoulder. Charming looked at his shoulder then up at the guard. His eyes were yellow. "You shouldn't have done that" he said. He opened his mouth and blew out fire on the guard in front of him. Normally he didn't like to do that to people but all that mattered was that Snow and Emma got to the wardrobe safely. He turned and started running back down the hall. James stepped out in front of him. "Hello David" James said. He looked around. "Where's your family? I want to meet my niece" James said smiling a sinister smile. Charming shook his head. "Over my dead body" he said. "That can be arranged" James said and he magically made a sword appear in his hand like Charming did before. The two brothers started fighting with each other. After a short swordfight Charming was able to disarm James and get him on the floor. Charming always was the better swordfighter. He pointed his sword at James's chest. "Call off the curse. Let the kingdom go" Charming said. James laughed. "If I do that me and Regina spend the rest of our lives as your prisoners. No I like the version where me and Regina get our happy ending and you and Snow suffer for the rest of your lives" James said. This made Charming mad. He hit in the face with the hilt of his sword. James's nose started bleeding. "One more chance call off the curse NOW" Charming yelled at his twin. James shook his head. "Can't it's already done. Your kingdom is going to be cursed. Even if I could call it off I wouldn't because it gives me so much satisfaction that you Snow and your little baby girl will never be a happy family. I hope you enjoyed what little time you had with her" James said. He saw Charming getting mad. His brother had a little bit of a temper and didn't think rationally when he was mad. James smiled. "Go ahead. Do it. Kill me. You know you want to Davey" James said. Charming raised his sword but stopped. He looked down at his brother on the floor. He couldn't do it. He couldn't kill James no matter how much he wanted to at this very moment. Charming's hesitation was all James needed. Before Charming knew what happened James stabbed him in the stomach. Charming dropped his sword and yelled out with a yell so loud the whole castle shook. He looked down at his stomach in surprise. It was a dragon blade. It killed dragon's slowly as long as it touched their skin. It was lethal to all dragons. Charming looked at James and saw he was wearing gloves. That must be how James could wield one and use it against him. James stood up and laughed. "I knew you couldn't do it. Your weak. You see I don't have that problem. I'll do anything for me and Regina to get our happy ending even kill my twin brother. Now you are only getting one chance. Tell me where your daughter is and I will remove this blade and you will be cursed with the rest of your kingdom but you will live. Refuse and I leave that blade in there and let it kill you slowly. It's your choice either way I win" James said. Blood was coming out of Charming from his stomach and it was starting to come out from his mouth. He was dying slowly. He nodded his head. "Fine you win. I'll tell you where they are" Charming said. James smiled. "Look at you. Your pathetic. In your dying hour you sell out your wife and daughter. I would never. Some noble man you turned out to be. Now where are they" James said. Charming motioned for James to come closer so he could whisper it to him. James leaned in and Charming headbutted him. "Go to hell" Charming said. After the shook of what just happened wore off James looked at Charming anger and hate in his eyes. "Very well you made your decision" James said pushing the blade deeper into Charming's stomach. Once again Charming yelled out with a scream so loud the castle shook. James grabbed Charming's hair roughly and pulled his head close to him while keeping his other hand on his blade. "I'm going to find Snow and your daughter and your going to stay here dying knowing that you failed your family and my voice will be the last thing you ever hear telling you you lost. Some father you turned out to be" James said letting go of Charming and letting him fall to the floor. Charming watched as two black knights approached James. "Your highness we weren't able to find them" one of the guards said. "Keep looking they have to be here somewhere" James said. The other guard pointed at Charming. "What should we do with him your highness" he asked. James looked down at his dying brother. "Leave him. He's no threat to us anymore. Find Snow White and their daughter" James said. The guards bowed and left. James gave his twin one last look before leaving the hallway. Charming just laid there knowing he failed Snow and Emma. James was going to find them and who knew what he would do to them. Charming could feel himself dying. He started to lose consciousness his last thought being how much of a failure he was and that Snow and Emma deserved better than that. He finally lost consciousness as he slowly died in the middle of the hallway of his castle as the curse approached. Not only did he fail Snow and Emma but he failed his entire kingdom to.
