David Emma and James arrived at the beach and got out of David's truck. "That must be the castle Mary Margaret was talking about" David said. James nodded his head and started walking towards the castle. David and Emma started following. James turned around and looked at them. "What are you guys doing" James asked stopping them. "Well we were going to go with you just in case you needed help. I am the savior after all" Emma said. James rolled his eyes. "Yea well no one here needs saving. Everyone's perfectly happy where they are. Now I'm going to go get my son alone and then you are going to drive us home. Stay here. I don't need help talking to my son" James said as he started walking toward the castle again. "Yea nothing has changed in 18 years. He's still a dick" David said. "Yea If only I could get in a room alone with him to teach some manners" Emma said. David laughed. She was definitely his daughter. "I'd put my money on you. Come on let's wait for them by the truck" David said.
James walked up to the castle and climbed up it. He found Henry sitting on the edge of it. "Henry" James called out. Henry turned around and frowned at his father. "Dad what are you doing here" Henry asked clearly annoyed. "Looking for you. Me and your mother were so worried" James said pulling Henry in for a hug. Henry pushed himself out of James's arms. "I'm sure you guys were" Henry said sarcastically turning back around and walking away from his father. "Excuse me. What is that supposed to mean young man" James said not liking Henry's tone with him. "Nothing" Henry said not looking at his father. "Henry talk to me" James said. "Why so that you and mom can lie to me some more? You've been lying to me my whole life. You guys told me I had no other family. Why didn't you tell me I had an uncle and a cousin" Henry yelled at his father. "I'm sorry Henry. Me and your mother shouldn't have lied to you. Me your mother and David all have a complicated history" James said.
"I've been so lonely for so long. Maybe I could have been able to talk to David and Emma about all the weird stuff in this stupid town that you and mom brush off" Henry said. James was stunned. "Like what" he asked. "Like how I'm the only one in my school who moves up a grade. The older kids that were there before me are now younger. Also when you ask anyone in this town about their life they can't remember past a certain age. Yet I can remember my whole life. When I told you and mom about all this stuff you guys threw me in therapy like I was crazy but I was right" Henry said. James walked up to him and tried to hug him but Henry ran away from him. "Henry please let's just talk about this" James said. "Why so that you can lie to me some more and tell me I'm crazy. I'm done talking to you. Please leave" Henry said walking back to the edge of the castle and taking a seat on the edge of it. "Henry please" James started but Henry turned back to him. "I SAID LEAVE" Henry shouted.
James walked back to the truck heartbroken. He had screwed up with Henry and know he hated him. David and Emma got out of the truck. "Let's go" James said. David looked around. "Where's Henry" he asked. "He's not coming" James said getting into the backseat. "Why" Emma asked. "He hates me OK. There you go David you were right. You happy now. My son wants nothing to do with me" James snapped. David looked at James and saw something he hadn't seen in a long time. He saw his twin brother that he loved more than anything and were as close as can be before everything happened between them. He looked back at the castle. "James if you want I can go talk to him" David said. "About what? How much you guys hate me and how bad of a father I am. Sure knock yourself out" James said. David turned to Emma. "Come on" David said to Emma and they started walking toward the castle. "David" James called from the truck. David turned around. "Don't tell him about the curse" James said.
David and Emma reached the castle and they climbed up it. "Henry" David called out. "I told you dad I don't want to talk to you right now" Henry said turning around. He was shocked when instead of his dad he saw his twin brother standing there with his daughter. "What do you want" Henry asked. "Just to talk. Your dad said you were mad at him. I can relate to that. I've been mad at him for so long" David said. He pointed at Emma. "This is my daughter Emma. We just want to talk or listen if that's what you want" David said. "If you'll let us" Emma said. Henry thought about it for a moment then moved over so there was space for David and Emma to sit. They walked over and sat down next to Henry. "So you want to tell me why your so mad at your dad" Henry said. "Him and my mom have been lying to me my whole life and making me believe I was crazy" Henry said. "Why do they think your crazy" Emma asked. "I told them about all the weird stuff in this town" Henry said.
"What kind of weird stuff" David asked. "How time never moves forward. How the people in this town can't remember past a certain point in there life. I don't know it's just weird" Henry said. Emma nodded her head. "That would be weird" she said. Henry looked at David and Emma. "The worst part is they lied to me about you two. They knew I felt lonely but they still lied and said I didn't have any other family besides them. They don't love me" Henry said. David shook his head. "That's not true" he said. Henry looked at him in disbelief. "How would you know? You hate your brother" he asked. "Yea me and James don't get along but deep down inside despite everything that has happened I still do love him. I also know that as a parent you love your children unconditionally no matter what. Even when you guys aren't getting along you still love them and want what's best for them. If your parents lied to you I promise it's for a very good reason" David said.
"So what happened between you and my dad" Henry asked. David shook his head. "It's complicated" he said. Henry let out a small laugh. "That's what my dad said" Henry said. Henry looked away from David and Emma over to the clocktower. "Are you guys leaving town" he asked. "No we're staying right dad" Emma said looking at David. "Definitely" David said. "That's good because it's going to be good to have family in town" Henry said. David smiled. "You know we'll always be here if you want to talk or hang out or whatever" he said. They heard footsteps approach behind them. "Henry" they heard a voice say. They turned around and saw it was James. "Henry I'm so sorry" James said. Henry ran up and hugged him. "It's OK dad. I know you and mom had your reasons for lying to me. Uncle David explained everything to me" Henry said. James looked at David and David nodded at him. "I promise no more lies" James said. Henry took James's hand and the four of them walked back to David's truck.
In the enchanted forest Snow walked out of the secret passage. Charming hadn't come to get her and Emma yet so she decided to go looking for him. She looked down at Emma who smiled at her. Snow smiled at her baby girl. "Come on lets find daddy" Snow said. She left Emma's nursery and walked out into the hallway. She decided to go to the room where the wardrobe was. Maybe Charming was in there. When she reached the end of the hallway she saw Charming laying in the middle of the next hallway with a knife sticking out of him. "No" she yelled running over to Charming. She knelt down next to his unconscious body and started to cry. She grabbed the knife and yanked it out of her husband's chest. Charming had told her all about dragon blades and how it hurt dragons and could possibly kill them. It was a danger to him and also Emma as she had dragon blood. Emma started to cry feeling the presence of the dragon blade. Snow looked down at Emma and threw the blade across the room.
Snow started shaking Charming's unconscious body trying to get him to wake up. He wouldn't wake. "Please. Please come back to us. Don't leave us" Snow sobbed. Then she got an idea. She kissed Charming. Maybe true loves kiss would wake him up. When she broke the kiss she looked down at him and saw that he was still unconscious. She started crying into his chest while Emma started crying in her arms. She looked down at Emma. The wardrobe was the only chance she had to save what was left of her family. She got up and started walking down the hall when Charming gasped awake. She turned around and saw him coughing on the floor. She ran over to him and hugged him. "Charming your alive" she said thankful she didn't lose her husband. Charming broke the hug and looked at Snow. "Snow your alive" Charming said shocked. He really thought he had lost her and Emma forever. Snow smiled and nodded her head. "Let's get to the wardrobe" she said. She gave Charming Emma and helped him walk.
Snow and Charming reached the room with the wardrobe. When they got into the room Snow locked the door. "We don't have long. The guards will be here any minute" Snow said as she opened the wardrobe. Charming tried to hand Emma to Snow but she just shook her head. "What are you doing" he asked. Snow started to cry. "I can't go through the wardrobe with Emma. It has to be you" she said. Charming shook his head. "What are you talking about" he asked. "I can't leave everyone here to be cursed when this is all my fault" Snow sobbed. "Hey James and Regina want to punish me too" Charming said. Snow nodded. "They think your dead. They won't look for you. You'll be able to keep Emma safe better than I would" she said. Charming shook his head. "I failed" he said. "What" Snow asked confused. "I failed the kingdom you and Emma. James almost killed me. He would have if it hadn't been for you. I wasn't able to protect anyone" Charming said. Snow walked over and grabbed his face.
"That's not true. You saved me from the sleeping curse. You've always been there for anyone in this kingdom. There's no one better to protect Emma" Snow said stroking his face. Charming shook his head. "Emma needs her mother" Charming said. "Emma needs to survive. We have to give her her best chance" Snow said. "You'll miss everything. I can't do that to you" Charming started crying now to. "You'll catch me up on everything in 18 years" Snow said. There was a banging at the door. They both turned around to look at it. Snow grabbed Charming's face again and turned him to look at her. "This is the only way and you know it" Snow said. Charming kissed her passionately. The last kiss they would have for 18 years. "I love you" he said. "I love you so much. Now go" Snow said. Charming got in the wardrobe with Emma in his arms. Snow kissed Emma on her forehead. "Tell her how much I love her" Snow cried. "I will I promise" Charming said. He took her hand. "I will find you" he said. She nodded.
Just then the guards broke down the door. Snow and Charming looked over at them. "Snow" Charming yelled as she shut the wardrobe door. One of the guards grabbed her while the other one walked over to the wardrobe. She hoped it worked and Charming and Emma were safe somewhere now. The guard opened the door and there was no one in there. Snow smiled. They were safe. She heard footsteps approaching. "Snow White what a pleasure to see you without your family" Regina said as she and James walked into the room. "Why did you guys do this" Snow asked. James leaned down close to her face. "To give me and my wife our happy ending. Also to make you and my brother pay. He died now you are going to be cursed forever with no one to break the curse once we find your daughter" he said. Two guards walked into the room. "The child" Regina asked. "Gone with the prince. I'm sorry your highness but your brother survived. I saw him go through this wardrobe" the guard said.
"Where are they" Regina asked. Snow smiled. "They got away. You're going to lose. Good will always win" she said. "We'll see about that" Regina said. James leaned in close to Snow. "My brother got a head start but when we find my brother and we will find him he will pay for what he did and your daughter don't worry we will take good care of her princess" James said. He stood up straight as Snow tried to get out of the guards grasps. Regina and James laughed evilly as they heard the curse coming. The roof came apart. The wind howled. They continued to laugh. They had one. They were finally going to get their happy ending. "Where are we going" Snow asked. "Somewhere horrible" Regina said as the windows smashed open and the curse came in. "Absolutely horrible" James said. Another window smashed open. "A place where the only happy ending will be ours" Regina said taking her husbands hands. They laughed and then kissed passionately as the curse engulfed the whole room.
In Storybrooke Regina opened the door to her house. She had gotten a call from James that he had Henry and was bringing him home. Regina walked outside onto her front porch. She saw James David Emma and Henry standing there. Henry ran up the stairs and gave Regina a hug. "I'm sorry I ran away. I was mad because you and dad kept lying to me and making me think I was crazy but dad promised no more lies and that you guys would explain everything" Henry said. "He did" Regina looked at him surprised. "I'll be right in and then we can talk Henry" James said. "OK dad" Henry said walking into the house. Regina gave him a confused look. "Babe can you go in the house for a second. I need to talk to my brother. I will explain everything when I come in" James said. Regina nodded and walked in the house shutting the door behind her. David looked at Emma. "Emma honey can you give us a minute" David asked. "Sure thing dad" Emma said. She turned to James. "Be nice" she said and walked away.
"Look David I'm not good at this but thank you truly. I don't know what you said to him but you got him to come home and give me another chance" James said sincerely. David smiled at James. "It was nothing. I just told him what it means to be a father and how you and Regina love him. I didn't say anything about the curse I promise" he said. "Well I appreciate it. Goodbye David" James said walking up the steps to his front door. "James" David called out. James turned around and looked at his brother. "I was thinking if you ever want to hang out or something as brothers I'd be OK with that" David said nervously. In the last couple of hours he had seen his old brother return. The one who he always used to hang out with. The one who he would go flying with high up in the sky where the wind would hit their wings perfectly. The one who he could tell anything to. His best friend. He hoped they could get back to that.
"You want to be brothers again" James said. "Yea let's just leave the past in the past and be brothers again. We used to be close. I want that back" David said. James just stood there for a moment staring at David. Then he smiled. "Fine we can give the whole brother thing a try" James said. David smiled at that. "Great. We can hang out tomorrow. I have to find a place for me and Emma" David said but was interrupted by James who shook his head. "I have one condition" he said. "Name it" David said. "Leave" James said. David looked at him confused. "What" he asked. "Leave Storybrooke. Forget about this town the curse everything. We will come visit you and Emma on holidays and birthdays and everything but you two are never to step foot in this town again" James said. David shook his head. "I can't do that. My wife is here. All of my friends I can't just leave them" he said. "It's like you said let's leave the past in the past. Move on" James said. "Me and Emma aren't leaving" David said.
"Figures you will always go out of your way to destroy my life" James said. David was frustrated. "I said I was sorry. What more do you want me to do? Why can't you just forgive me" David asked. "You don't deserve it" James said anger rising up in him. "It was a mistake" David said. "That me and Regina payed for" James yelled at David. "We payed while you walked away without any punishment. How is that fair" James asked. "I think spending 18 years separated from my wife and having to raise Emma without her mother was punishment enough" David said. James shook his head. "Not even close" he said walking down the steps and over to David. "If you stay in Storybrooke I will destroy you if it is the last thing I do" James said. "Don't threaten me" David said staring down his twin. "It's not a threat. It's a promise" James said. James walked back up to his front door. He looked back at David. "Stay away from my son and get the hell off my property" he said slamming the door shut.
An hour later James and Regina left Henry's room. "Are you sure we're making the right decision? I mean he's our son" Regina said. James nodded his head. "I know. I feel like crap about it but it's the only way to make sure he doesn't ask anymore questions" James said taking Regina's hand and walking down the stairs with her. He placed the rock in the hidden compartment under the table in the living room. Not all magic was out in this land. Some magic still worked and James and Regina just used a rock to take Henry's memories about the strange things he discovered about the town away. James sat on the couch while Regina got on his lap. She cuddled up into him and he caressed her side. "What did you talk to your brother about" she asked. "He wanted to be brothers again and I told him it was never going to happen not after what he did" James said. "Good I don't know if I can ever forgive him" she said. "You won't have to. We're going to make him regret ever coming here" he said. "Good" she said.
David had found out about this bed and breakfast him and Emma could stay at. He pulled up to the inn and shut off the truck. Emma looked at her father. He had barely said two words to her ever since his talk with James. David went to get out of the truck but Emma stopped him. "Dad are you OK? You haven't said anything since we left Uncle James's" she asked. David looked over at her. "I'm fine. I told him I wanted us to be brothers again but he didn't like that idea. He told me the only way that would happen is if we left Storybrooke and never came back" he said. "Dad I'm sorry that happened but we can't leave Storybrooke not with mom and everyone else still cursed" Emma said. David nodded his head. "I know. We're not leaving Storybrooke. We're going to stay and break this curse together" David said. "Really" Emma said. David nodded. "Yea if my brother wants a fight than we'll give him a fight" David said. Emma smiled at him. "Come on let's get a room so we can get some sleep. It's been a long day" David said. They walked up to the bed and breakfast and walked in. "You're out all night, and now you're going out again" David and Emma heard a woman shout. "I should have moved to Boston" another woman said. David and Emma saw two women walking down the stairs. "I'm sorry that my heart attack interfered with your plans to sleep your way down the Eastern Seaboard" the older woman said. David instantly recognized them as his and Snow's two friends Granny and Red. He smiled. Even cursed they were still together. "Excuse me" David said interrupting their argument. Granny turned around to see David and Emma standing there. "We'd like a room" David said motioning between him and Emma. "Really" Granny asked. David nodded his head. Granny smiled. "Would you like a forest view or a square view" she asked going into a room and taking out a book. "Normally, there's an upgrade fee for the square, but as rent is due, I'll waive it" Granny said walking out of the room and going behind the desk. Red stood behind them checking out David. He was a very attractive man. She loved a man who could rock a leather jacket like that and David looked like a snack to her. She was going to enjoy getting to know him. David didn't notice Red checking him out and instead answered Granny's question. "Square's fine" David said. Granny put the book on the desk and opened it to a page. "Now, what are your names" Granny asked. "I'm David Nolan and this is my daughter Emma" David said. Emma smiled at Granny. "Hi" she said. Neither of them were aware of the man standing behind them. "Emma" the man said behind them and everybody looked at him. David also instantly recognized him as Rumplestiltskin. He instinctively pulled Emma behind him. Granny looked at him in fear. "What a lovely name" Rumple said. David just glared at the man. "Thanks" Emma said from her place behind David. David still glared at Rumplestiltskin keeping distance between him and Emma. He mentally cursed himself. He shouldn't have said Emma's name. Rumple smiled at them. "Mr. Nolan" he said. David didn't say anything back. He just stood there glaring at the dark one keeping distance between him and Emma. Granny opened a drawer and took out some cash. She handed it to Rumplestilskin. "It's all here" Granny said. "Yes, of course it is, dear. Thank you" Rumple said taking the money from her. He looked at David and Emma. "You two enjoy your stay" he said. He walked to the door smiling at Red as he left. Red stood there uncomfortable. David and Emma turned back to Granny. "I'm sorry about that. That was just Mr. Gold" Granny said. "He owns this place" Red said looking out the window watching him leave. "The inn" David asked. "No. The town" Granny said. So Rumplestilitskin made out good in this curse. Figures he was always ten steps ahead of everyone back in the enchanted forest. Of course he would make sure he made out well in this curse David thought to himself. "So, how long will you be staying with us" Granny asked. "Let's start with a week and go from there" David said. He hoped he would find a permant place for him and Emma to stay within as week. "Great" Granny said grabbing a key and handing it to them. "Welcome to Storybrooke" Granny said. David reached out for it but Emma stopped him. "I'll take that" she said. "OK you go to the room. I'll get your stuff from the truck" David said. "Do you want help dad" Emma asked. "No I got it" David said. He walked out to the truck and opened the back of it. He pulled out his and Emma's suitcases. He looked at the clocktower in the distance and saw the hand on the clock move. David smiled to himself. Just by Emma being here the curse was already starting to break. He made the right decision by staying here. Time was now moving in Storybrooke. Him and Emma would have this curse broke in no time and their family would finally be reunited. He walked back into the inn thinking about Snow and the kingdom . They found them now they were going to break the curse and save Snow and the kingdom.
