In the enchanted forest James and Regina appeared in their castle after leaving Snow and Charming's wedding. Charming's sword flew into the wall. James and Regina walked over to the sword and James pulled it out of the wall. "Well my brother won't be needing this anymore" James said as he magically made it disappear. A man holding a tray with two cups walked up to Regina. "Would you two like something to drink" he asked Regina. "Do we look like we need drinks" Regina asked looking at the man in disgust. "I was only trying to help" the man said giving her a drink. "Thank you" Regina said taking the drink from the man. He turned to James and handed him a drink. James took the drink and smiled at him. "Good thinking. Cheers to our victory" James said clinking his glass with Regina's. They drank their drinks and laughed. Just then a face appeared in a mirror on the other side of the room. "Now that was an awfully big threat. Destroy everyone's happiness" the magic mirror said.
"Your still here. Regina, honey, why haven't we gotten rid of this mirror yet" James asked his wife. James hated this mirror who used to be a genie. He found him unnecessary and quite irritating. If James had it his way he would have smashed that mirror a long time ago. Regina liked it so that's why they kept it. Regina looked at James. "He has his uses" she said smiling at her husband. "The only use a mirror has is to show the most beautiful queen in all the land. Mirrors are supposed to be quiet. This one is talks back and is just annoying" James said. Regina kissed James and James deepened the kiss. The mirror cleared his throat. "How exactly do you two plan on accomplishing that" the mirror asked. James rolled his eyes. "We are kind of having an intimate moment here" he said. "Trust me it's nothing I haven't seen before" the mirror said. James was furious. "You've spied on us" James said. "I wouldn't call it spying I would call it peeking on the competition. You are inferior to me" the mirror said.
"Yea well at least I have a body" James said. "Yea one that can't get the job done" the mirror said. James moved towards the mirror but Regina stopped him. She turned his face to look at her. "Baby you are the only man I love now and forever. Whatever that mirror says doesn't mean anything" Regina said and she kissed him again. The main reason James hated the mirror was that he was always hitting on Regina and convinced he would be a better partner for her than James. He knew it was stupid to get so mad because of a mirror but the mirror just infuriated him so much. James stopped kissing Regina when he heard a ringing that only he could hear. He looked out the window. "What is it" Regina asked. "My mother's calling me. She's using my dragon call. Says she has to talk" James said. "Then go talk to her see if she'll give it to you" Regina said. "See if she'll give him what" the mirror asked. Regina looked at the mirror and smiled. "The dark curse" she said.
"Are you sure, your majesty's" the old man said walking up to them. "Yes we're sure. This is the only way for us to get our happy ending" James said. "You two said you guys would never use it" the mirror said. "You two made a deal when you gave away that curse" the old man said. "You two traded it away" the mirror said. "She won't give it to you guys. She's not going to help you curse her son" the old man said. James smiled at him. "You forget I'm also her son and my mother has helped us in the past despite my brother. Remember the sleeping curse we put on Snow White. That came from my mother. She'll help us" James said. "Are you sure? She didn't seem to keen on it at the wedding" Regina said. James nodded his head. "Well it's either she gives us the curse willingly and helps us or we take it by force and she will be cursed with the rest of my brother's kingdom" James said. "Are you sure? She's your mother. I don't want you to regret anything" Regina said.
"Nothing is more important than us getting what we deserve. Our happy ending. I love my mother but if she stands in my way I will stop her" James said. He bought his hand up to Regina's face and started stroking it lovingly. "I will never regret choosing us" James said as he kissed her again. "Get a room" the mirror said. James looked at the mirror annoyed. "Babe when we get back remind me to get rid of the mirror's in our bedroom. We don't need peeping Tom over here watching while I make love to my wife which I can do because I actually have a body" James said. "Once we get the curse from your mother he won't matter. Nothing will matter except us finally getting our happy ending" Regina said. She turned to the mirror. "Oh and for your information James is an excellent lover" she said. James smiled smugly at the mirror and then looked at Regina. "I'll talk to my mother first. If she refuses then you come in" James said and turned into his dragon form. He flew off towards his mother's castle.
James arrived at his mother's castle and turned back into his human form. "Mom" James called out. "James there you are" Maleficent said walking up to him. "I heard your call is something wrong" he asked. "Actually there is. You have to stop. This war between you and your brother has to stop" she said. "It will mom" James said. Maleficent was surprised but happy to hear this. She walked over and hugged him. "I'm so proud of you James. Your putting the past behind you and moving on. All I ever wanted was for my two boys to make up and for all of us to be a family again" she said. James pulled away from his mother and looked at her. "No one's making up. I still hate David with every fiber of my being and I will destroy his happiness no matter what it takes. Just like he did with me and Regina" James said. Maleficent looked at her son confused. "You said this war was going to stop" she said. "It is because we're about to win" James said.
"How do you plan on winning" Maleficent asked then a horrible thought crossed her mind. "Your not planning on killing David are you" she asked. James laughed. "No that would be too kind. David has to suffer for what he did and he will" James said. Maleficent shook her head. "James please just leave your brother alone. Him and Snow are happy. You and Regina are happy. There's no need for you to do anything" Maleficent said. "We will never be happy until David and Snow White have suffered for what they did to us which is why I need the curse back" James said. Maleficent gasped and shook her head. "Please James no. Not the dark curse" she said. "Don't you see mom this is the only way for me and Regina to be happy. Don't you want me to be happy" James asked trying to guilt his mother into giving him the curse. "Of course I do but this isn't the way. Trust me James revenge is never the way" Maleficent said.
"You helped me and Regina with our revenge once before by giving us the sleeping curse" James said. "I didn't know you were going to use it to hurt your brother and curse Snow White. You told me it was for someone who was giving you and Regina problems. I didn't realize it was Snow White. I'm not going to make that mistake again" Maleficent said. "James this curse can't reverse what happened to you and Regina. I'm sorry it happened. If I could go back and fix it you know I would. I love you so much James. I hope you can find comfort in that" Maleficent said. "The only comfort for me is David's suffering. Please mom. I need that curse. I know you keep it hidden in the orb above your staff" James said. "It's hidden for the good of all. Whoever created this monstrosity makes me look positively moral. Who did give it to you and Regina" Maleficent asked. "That doesn't matter just give me the curse mom. I promise you will be well taken care of in this new land" James said.
He looked at his mother pleading with her. "We can do this together. The mistress of all evil and her son destroying lives and winning together. Please mom" James said. Maleficent looked at her son sadly. He really thought he needed this stupid curse to be happy. He couldn't see that he can be happy here and him her and David could all be a family again. Maleficent put her hand on James's face gently stroking his cheek in a motherly way. He truly was broken. "James I'm sorry. That's not me anymore. I wanted so much better for you then all this hate you have in your heart. I'm sorry but I won't help you. I'm not giving you the curse. I'm not going to let you curse your brother and all those innocent people" Maleficent said. James was furious. His mother was really choosing David and his kingdom over him. James backed away from his mother. "Very well mother. You've made your choice. I was going to make sure you were well taken care of but know you can be cursed with the rest of them" James said.
Just then Regina walked in. "Hello Maleficent dear" she said. She turned to James. "Did you get our curse back yet" she asked. James looked at his mother anger in his eyes. "No it looks like we're going to have to be more forceful" James said. "James please don't make me do this" Maleficent said. James shook his head. "You've given me no choice mother. I tried asking nicely. Now I guess we'll just have to take the curse from you" he said. Maleficent looked at her son and her heart broke. She wished more then anything she could her happy son back who just wanted to explore the world and was so loving. Now all she saw was hate in him. It really heart her. Regina waved her hand and fire came out of the fireplace and formed a fire ball which Regina threw at Maleficent. Maleficent used her staff to block the attack and sent out an attack at Regina. Regina blocked that attack. James saw Maleficent's pet unicorn enter the room. He smiled. James waved his hand and all the weapons in the room raised into the air.
They all came behind James. He knew exactly how to hurt his mother. He smiled and pointed the weapons at the unicorn. "No" Maleficent screamed going over to protect her unicorn. She blocked the attack with her staff and all the weapons fell to the ground. With Maleficent distracted Regina looked up at the chandelier and made it fall and wrap around Maleficent making her drop her staff. James threw out his hand and Maleficent flew to the wall. Regina walked over and picked up the staff. "I knew your weakness mom. You love that stupid unicorn too much to let anything happen to it and it wound up being your undoing" James said. "Please James don't do this. This curse. There are lines you shouldn't cross" Maleficent pleaded with her son as Regina took the staff and smashed the orb on the top of it on the floor. It smashed open and a scroll came out of it. "All power comes with a price" Maleficent continued as James picked up the scroll.
"Enacting it will take a terrible toll" Maleficent said as James unrolled the scroll and him and Regina read it. "It will leave an emptiness inside of both of you. A void you will never be able to fill" Maleficent said as they continued reading the scroll. James looked up at his mother. "So be it" he said as he turned back into his dragon form. Regina jumped on top of him and he flew them back to their castle. Maleficent struggled to get out of the chandelier that trapped her to the wall. It was no use. She couldn't escape. Maleficent stopped struggling and called for her other son. It took him a couple minutes but David finally arrived in his dragon form. He changed into his human form and saw his mother trapped against the wall. "Mom" he yelled running into the room. He waved his hand and the chandelier became a chandelier again while Maleficent fell to the floor. David ran over to her. "Mom are you Ok? What happened" David asked helping her up. Maleficent smiled at her son. "Thank you honey. I'm sorry for interrupting you on your wedding night" she said. "It's Ok. What happened" he asked. Maleficent gave David a sad look. "It was your brother and Regina. They stole the dark curse from me. I'm so sorry honey. I couldn't stop them" she said. David looked at his mother worried. That was their plan. They were going to enact the dark curse. All he really knew about the dark curse was it was really powerful and could destroy the entire kingdom and separate everyone from their families. He also knew it was too powerful to fight. His kingdom was going to get cursed and there was nothing he could about it.
