In the enchanted forest James and Regina stood in a clearing in the forest with a bunch of creatures who had been unfortunate in life and hadn't gotten their happy ending. They were about to cast the curse and they wanted all of them to see it. They looked at all the creatures surrounding them. "Who among us is tired of losing" Regina asked. "That is why me and my beautiful wife have called you here. To put an end to our misery" James said as Regina threw something in the fire. The flames grew bigger as the fire reacted to what Regina threw into it. James held out his hand as one of the black knights handed him something. "Today we claim victory and move to a new, better realm. A place where we can finally win" Regina said as James threw the ingredient in the fire. "Will we be happy" the blind witch asked. "We guarantee it but first, we need something from you. A lock of hair from those with the darkest souls" James said.
"You must trust us because if you don't, there are other ways" Regina said smiling. James smiled also and they magically made the branches of the trees circle around the creatures. The creatures cut off a lock of hair scared that the king and queen would attack them if they didn't. "A wise decision" James said. He walked around with a bowl collecting all of the hair from the different creatures. The branches magically went back to where they belong. "All that remains is the final ingredient" Regina said as James handed the bowl to their black knight. The man from their castle held a box out to Regina and opened it. "A prized heart. From my childhood steed" Regina said taking the heart out of the box. "The glorious beast whose passing will fuel our victory. Let our wrath be unleashed" Regina said looking at her husband. James smiled evilly at her as she threw the heart in the fire. They took each other's hands and watched as the fire grew. Thunder crashed in the sky as a cloud appeared around the fire.
Everyone looked on as all of a sudden the cloud disappeared and nothing happened. Everyone looked around confused. Just then a gnome started laughing. "Yeah, you two really unleashed something there" he laughed. He pointed at James and Regina and laughed. Regina threw out her hand and turned him to stone. James rolled his eyes. "I really hate gnomes" he said. Regina walked away upset. "Regina" James called after her. When she didn't come back he chased after her. He caught up to her and stopped her. "Hey Regina baby stop we'll figure this out" James promised. "How James. We followed everything the instructions said to do and it still didn't work. I guess good truly does always win" Regina said. James put a finger under her chin and moved her head to look at him. "We'll figure this out. I don't know how but we'll figure it out. We're getting your happy ending no matter what I have to do" James said. He didn't know what they were going to do but they would figure it out.
In Storybrooke James and Regina were walking arms linked through there garden just spending some romantic time alone together. "So let's talk about what we're going to do about your brother" Regina said. James smiled. "Leave him to me. I know exactly how to deal with him" James said. "I hope so. The last thing we need is his daughter breaking the curse and him and Snow being reunited" Regina said. James stopped walking and grabbed Regina's shoulders. "That's not going to happen. Nothing is going to ruin what we have built here. I won't let it" James said. Regina smiled at her husband and started stroking his cheek romantically. "I love you" she said. "I love you so much" James said. Regina kissed him. The kiss got passionate until they were interrupted. "The mirror strikes again" Sydney said holding out a newspaper for James and Regina to see. They parted and James rolled his eyes. "Even here all he does is interrupt us" James said low enough so only Regina could hear.
"You're late" Regina said turning her attention to Sydney. "Sorry. I wanted to bring you two the latest edition. I assure you, it's one of my better hatchet jobs" Sydney said. Regina and James looked at the newspaper. "That's not what I asked for" Regina said as James took the newspaper and looked at it. "This doesn't help us. All it says is that my brother is a hero and how great of a detective he is. We need something we can use against him not this trash" James said throwing the newspaper back at Sydney. He wrapped his arms around his wife and they started walking away from Sydney. Sydney stepped in front of them. "I couldn't really find anything useful you could use against your brother. The only thing I really learned is that he doesn't like to sit still" he said. "Well that appears to have changed" Regina said as here and James walked away again. "How'd he wind up here in Maine" Sydney asked. "So if we're understanding you correctly you found nothing of value" Regina said.
"Do you know what that means Sidney? It means you have no value to me and my wife. Do you know what we do with things that hold no value to us? We throw them away" James said. Sidney looked at James and Regina nervously and swallowed. "I'll keep looking" he stammered. "That sounds like a great idea" Regina said and Sidney walked away. "See babe I always told you he was completely useless" James said. Regina rolled her eyes and wrapped her arms around James. "Where were we" she asked kissing him. They continued kissing until James's phone went off. James pulled out his phone and looked at it. "What is it" Regina asked. "Just my alarm. I have to pick up Henry. We're supposed to be having that father son lunch that Dr. Hopper says will be good for him" James said. Regina removed her arms from around James. "Go have fun with your son. I'll be here figuring out what to do with your brother and niece" Regina said. James gave her a quick peck on the lips and left.
David was sitting in Granny's reading the newspaper waiting for Emma. Emma had spent all day looking for a job while David worked. He was on his lunch break while Emma was in a interview about possibly getting a job at Granny's. He took a bite of his cheeseburger as he read about what the newspaper had to say about him and Emma. He was surprised. There wasn't anything bad about them in the newspaper. He would have thought James and Regina would want all bad stuff to be written about them even if they weren't true. "Here you go" Ruby said putting a cup of hot cocoa in front of David. "Thank you but I did not order that" David said. Ruby smiled at him seductively. "I know but it's on the house. A little gift from me to you to thank you for coming in to town" she said. David got really uncomfortable. "Ruby you seem nice and everything but I'm really not interested" David said trying to be as nice as he could.
"I understand. Your playing hard to get. That's fine" Ruby said as she grabbed a napkin and started wiping David's face. "You got a little ketchup on you" she said. David quickly took the napkin from her. "I got it thank you" he said. "Ruby" someone from the kitchen called her name. "I've got to go but I get off at 4 sexy. See you then" Ruby said walking into the kitchen. David threw up a little in his mouth. Red was like a sister to him and she was Snow's best friend. He would never do that to Snow. Emma walked up to him happy. "Dad guess what" Emma said. "I don't know what" David said. "I got the job" she said. David smiled really big and hugged her. "You did. That's great congratulations. I know you wanted to work with Granny and Red because they were close friends of mine and your mother's. I'm so happy for you" he said. "Thank you" Emma said. Emma looked at the extra cheeseburger on the bar. "Is that for me" she asked. David saw Ruby coming back out. "Let's go" David said.
"So you want to tell me why you were in such a hurry to leave Granny's Dad" Emma asked taking a bit of her cheeseburger. "I just thought we could use some fresh air" David lied. Emma gave him a look. "Fine it's Red. She was hitting on me while I was waiting for you and I saw her coming back out of the kitchen" David said. "Ewww Aunt Red was hitting on you" Emma said. "Yea it wasn't fun. It's obviously part of her cursed personality. Red would never do that to Snow. That must be something James and Regina threw in for a good laugh" David said. David and Emma were walking for a little bit before Emma turned to her father. "Dad you never told me what happened between you and Uncle James and Aunt Regina" she said. David gave her a stern look. "It's complicated" he said. Emma knew her father well enough to know to drop it. He would tell her when he was ready. "So how are we going to break this curse" Emma asked breaking the awkward silence between her and her father.
"I'm not breaking anything. You're the savior remember" David said. "We're a team Dad. We're going to do this together" she said. David smiled at Emma and wrapped an arm around her. "We are aren't we" he asked. Emma nodded her head and took another bite of her cheeseburger. "Before we break the curse we need to identify as many people as we can" Emma said. "That should be easy. I know most of the people in the kingdom" David said. "Also we got to make sure Uncle James and Aunt Regina don't hurt anyone" Emma said. "Don't worry now that we're here they're attention is going to be on us not everyone else" David said. "At least time isn't frozen anymore" Emma said. David nodded in agreement. "Yea that's a start but we still have a long way to go before the curse is fully broken" David said. "If we get stuck we have the book to help us" Emma said taking another bite of her cheeseburger. "Where is the book. I haven't seen it since we got here" David said.
"I have it hidden so no one finds it" Emma said. "Do you think we could use that book to find my mother" David asked. "I don't know. Do you think she's here" Emma asked. David nodded. "Well James and Regina cursed the whole kingdom and my mother was in the kingdom. I just haven't been able to find her" he said. Emma gave him a sad look. "You don't think Uncle James and Aunt Regina killed her or something do you" Emma asked. "They better not have" David said. Emma smiled at her father. "If she's here we'll find her" she said. "I hope your right" David said. "I know I am" Emma said. "I love you" David said pulling her in for a hug. "I love you to Dad" Emma said. "Emma Uncle David hi" they heard someone call them. They turned and saw Henry standing in front of them. "Hey Henry shouldn't you be in school" David asked. "Yea my father picked me up so we could have lunch together just the two of us. He's parking the car right now" Henry said. Emma smiled at Henry.
"Hey Henry I guess they finally fixed the clocktower" she said. Henry looked at her strangely. "What are you talking about? The clocktowers always worked" Henry said. David and Emma looked at each other. "Henry you told us the other day about how the clocktower didn't work and you noticed strange things happening around town" David said. "I never said that" Henry said. "Yes you did when you ran away from home remember" Emma said. Henry looked at them like they were crazy. "I never ran away from home" he said. "Henry" James called as he walked up to the three of them. "Are you OK" James asked. "Yes I'm fine. Uncle David and Emma are just saying weird stuff like how the clocktower was broken and I ran away from home" Henry said. James glared at his twin brother. "Henry why don't you go to Granny's and get us a seat. I'll be right there. I just have to talk to your uncle for a second" he said. "OK Dad" Henry said running to Granny's.
"I would appreciate it if you didn't fill my son's head with crazy ideas" James said. "What did you do to him" David asked. "What do you mean" James asked. "When me and Emma talked to him when he ran away he talked about how the clocktower didn't work and all the strange things going on in this town and how you and Regina made him feel crazy but know he doesn't seem to remember any of that" David said. "Me and Regina take very good care of our son. Don't worry about him. He's fine" James said. "I'll ask one more time what did you do to him? You said you would talk to him after me and Emma got him back for you after he ran away. What did you talk to him about" David asked. James just smiled at David. "Henry never ran away. I have no idea what you are talking about. Maybe you two are the one's who are crazy and need therapy not Henry" James said. "You know we're telling the truth" Emma said.
James ignored her and looked directly at David. "I'm going to say it again and maybe you'll understand me this time. Stay away from my son. That was your last warning" James said. He pushed David and Emma out of the way. David grabbed James's arm. "I'm going to find out what you did to him" David said. James smiled at David. "Well good look with that. Now if you don't mind I'm going to have lunch with my son" James said pulling his arm out of David's grasp and walking to Granny's. Emma turned to her father. "What do we do Dad? We can't just let Uncle James get away with whatever he did to Henry" she said. David pulled Emma into a hug. "We won't. We're going to figure out what him and Regina did and stop them and I know just the person to talk to. Come on" David said. He was going to figure out what happened to Henry. He wasn't just going to sit back while James and Regina did god knows what to Henry. He was going to stop them before something seriously bad happened to Henry.
