David was sitting at his desk in the sheriffs station reading the files he had gotten from Archie. They didn't talk about anything to strange except for one thing that stood out to David. Ever since Henry was six he had been talking about feeling like he was missing parts of his memory. He said there were things he just couldn't remember no matter how hard he tried. So whatever James and Regina had done to him with his memory they had been doing to him for the last 5 years. David knew he had to figure out what they were doing to him and stop them. David heard footsteps coming and quickly gathered up the files and put them in a drawer in his desk. Graham walked in and saw David sitting at his desk. "David we need to talk" Graham said. "What do you want to talk about" David asked. "Dr. Archibald Hopper. He mentioned you got into a bit of a row with him earlier" Graham said. "That's not what happened" David said.
"I was shocked to hear it. You're a good detective. Your record has been squeaky clean. You've never gotten written up for anything not even being late so why would you all of a sudden start a fight with the town therapist" Graham said. David looked at him confused. "I didn't start a fight with him" David said. "He says you demanded to see Henry's files and when he refused you got aggressive with him and stole them anyway" Graham said. David shook his head. "He gave me them after I threatened to get a warrant for them if he didn't" David said. "Alas, he's telling a different tale. Where are the files" Graham asked. "There in my desk" David said as he opened the desk and threw them on the desk in front of Graham. Graham looked at the files and sighed. He looked up at David sadly. "I'm afraid, David, I'm going to have to suspend you" Graham said. David looked at him shocked. "What" David asked. "Your suspended for the next two days. I'm going to need your badge and guns" Graham said.
"I'm being set up" David said. "Who, may I ask, is setting you up" Graham asked David. "James and Regina. They've wanted me and Emma to leave town since the day we got here. They're doing this to get us to leave" David said. "So they're the ones who beat up Dr. Hopper" Graham said. David shook his head. "No one beat him up. He's lying. He's scared of them just like everyone else in this town" David said. "Well then how do you explain these" Graham said as he took out pictures and handed them to David. David looked through the pictures and saw bruises on Archie's face. David looked up at Graham. "I didn't do this" he said. "Yea well somebody did and seeing as how you have confidential files that your not supposed to from his office you got to admit it looks kind of suspicious. Now your badge and guns" Graham said. David took his badge off his belt and threw it on the desk. "They're doing something to Henry" David said removing his guns from his holster and putting them on the desk.
Graham wound up not believing David about James and Regina doing something to Henry. David lied and told him he thought they were hurting him but without proof he didn't get anywhere. David felt like an idiot. James set him up and he took the bait. He should have seen it coming a mile away. He was just so concerned about trying to help Henry that he didn't see what his brother was doing. At least he didn't lose his job. It was just a two day suspension. He would be back at work in two days and would be able to make sure his brother and Regina didn't hurt anyone else. He was pissed though. They were willing to go to any lengths to try to drive him and Emma out of town. If it was a war they wanted it was a war they were going to get. David drove over to their house got out of his car and took out a chainsaw. He walked into the garden and turned the chainsaw on loud enough to make sure it got their attention. Regina was doing some work in her office when she heard the motor of the chainsaw whirring.
Regina stopped what she was doing and got up from her desk and looked out the window. She saw the prince cutting down her precious try with a chainsaw. She glared at him and he looked directly at her. She left her office in a hurry. The stupid prince wasn't going to get away with this. Regina marched outside toward David. "What the hell are you doing" she asked him. "Picking apples" David said as he looked around. Regina finally reached David. "Your out of your mind" she said to him. "No. You and James are, if you guys really think a shoddy frame job is enough to scare me off. Speaking of which where is my brother" David said. "He had business to take care of" Regina said. David nodded his head. "Well you can tell my brother you guys are going to have to do better than that to get me to leave. You come after me or Emma one more time, I'm coming back for the rest of this tree because, trust me, you guys have no idea what I am capable of" David said as Regina just glared at him. David walked away from her. "Your move" David called as he left the garden. Regina watched him go. So the prince wanted to play this way. Fine. He had no idea what was coming his way.
