In the enchanted forest Snow and Charming trekked through the forest. As they continued walking Snow started playing with her necklace which Charming noticed. "I thought you weren't the jewelry type. What's that around your neck" Charming asked. "Don't worry about it" Snow answered him. While she wasn't looking Charming grabbed it from around her neck. "Careful! It's a weapon" Snow said. Charming looked at it closely. "What is it fairy dust" Charming asked. Snow nodded her head. "My mother told me all about it. What are you planning on turning the queen into a cockroach" Charming asked. "Her and your brother. It's the only way they will stop coming after me" Snow said. Charming looked at her curiously. "How do you know I'm not actually the king? I could plan on capturing you and taking you to the queen" Charming said. Snow looked at him for a minute and then burst out laughing. Charming glared at her. "Hey what's so funny" he asked.
"I've met the king and trust me when I say you couldn't pass for him if you tried" Snow said. "We're twins. We look exactly alike" Charming said. "Yea but the king is cold and cruel. He's scarier too. There's no happiness in his eyes except for when it comes to two things. Destroying other people's happiness or the queen. Those are the only things that make him happy. You don't have that darkness about you. You are more of an annoyance than anything else. Besides the king wouldn't have been shocked to see me when you pulled me off that horse. I knew with your shocked expression that you weren't the king. Also he never would have let me go. I would have been their prisoner already" Snow said. Charming just stared at her. "You didn't seem scared about me turning into a dragon and all" Charming said. Snow shook her head. "Like I said I've met your brother. I've seen him destroy villages and laugh about it. Your brother is truly evil and I can tell that your not" Snow said.
"You got a lot of anger there, don't you, Snow" Charming asked as he stuck the fairy dust inside his doublet and him and Snow kept walking. "The charges on their posters are lies. They hate me and they want me dead. They'll do anything to make that happen" Snow said. "What happened" Charming asked. "Lets just say I did something that ruined their lives. I've been hiding in the forest ever since. Trying to amass enough fortune to leave this place. Escape to another realm. Somewhere isolated. Where I can never be hurt" Snow said as they stopped walking. "Sounds lonely" Charming said. "No lonelier than an arranged marriage" Snow said. "At least I don't prey on the innocent" Charming said. "Up until now, I've only ever stolen from the king and queen. I thought your carriage was one of theirs. No one else uses that road" Snow said. "We took the scenic route" Charming said. "Well, lucky for me. All I'm doing, Charming, is what it takes to survive. They want me dead" Snow said walking away.
"I think we have something in common" Charming said catching up to her. "I doubt that" Snow said. "They also want me dead but I'm protected by my parents. They can't touch me without going through them first" Charming said. "Your parents. Maleficent the mistress of all evil and who's your father" Snow asked. "Mephisto" Charming answered. Snow looked at him confused. Charming sighed. "The horned king" he said. Snow stopped in her tracks. "The horned king. You mean the man who is the exact definition of evil incarnate" she said. Charming nodded his head. "That's dad. Everything to him is about getting power. He doesn't care about anything else. Not me, not James, not mom. That's what this marriage is to him. A way for him to get more power by ruling over King Midas's kingdom. I'm just a pawn in his game" Charming said sadly. Snow could see the sadness in his eyes and her heart actually hurt for him a little bit.
"Why don't you just leave? Go somewhere your father can't find you" Snow asked. Charming shook his head. "I won't leave my mother. If I ran away my father would take his anger out on her and I'm not going to let her deal with that. She deserves better than that. She deserves better than him. We both do. At least James was able to get away from him" Charming said. He looked at Snow and smiled. "You know James wasn't always like this" Charming said. "Really. You mean a bloodthirsty ruler who gets his jolly's from destroying people's lives" Snow said in disbelief. Charming nodded. "He never wanted to rule. He wanted a simple life. He wanted to get away me and my mom away from my father and then the three of us could have been a family together. He also was my best friend and the most important person to me but I ruined that. I ruined all of it" Charming said. Snow looked at him curiously. "What did you do" she asked. "Something unforgiveable" he said walking away.
Snow and Charming continued walking in silence until they reached a clearing in the middle of the forest that led to a river. "I'm thirsty. May I" Snow asked. Charming nodded. "Sure. Make it quick" he said. They walked to the edge of the river. Snow took a drink from the river and looked over at Charming who bent down to take a drink himself. Snow stood up. She waited for him to finish and once he stood up she kneed him in the stomach. Charming grunted. She pushed him into the river and watched as the tide carried him away. Charming struggled against the tide. Snow went into Charming's sack and took a pouch that had money in it. She ran away from the river and deeper into the forest. She stopped when reached a dead end and started running back. She stopped and gasped as she saw some of James and Regina's black knights riding up to her. "Look who we found" one of the black knights said. The other two black knights moved behind her, surrounding her. She was trapped. There was nowhere for her to run. The first black knight got off his horse. Snow looked behind her. "There's nowhere to hide. The king and queen want your heart and we're not going to disappoint them" the black knight said pulling a dagger out and walking toward Snow. Snow looked at the black knight thinking this was the end. They were finally going to get what they wanted. Her heart.
