David sat on one of the hospital beds annoyed. Emma and Mary had insisted he get checked out even though he was perfectly fine. There was nothing wrong with him. Fredrick had just surprised him that's all. He had to wait for Fredrick to wake up so he could ask him why he attacked him. He had his suspicions that James and Regina had something to do with it but he couldn't prove it and making accusations against the mayors without proof didn't look good. As David sat on the hospital bed waiting for the nurse to come back he thought about who could have saved him. He didn't know who it was but whoever it was he owed them a big thank you. He knew one thig for sure though. He wasn't going to waste anymore time. Him and Snow were going to be together even if she wasn't really herself at the moment. He wanted to be with the woman he loved and for them to be a family with Emma. If only his mother was here. David searched all of Storybrooke and couldn't find her. He missed her so much.
The nurse walked in. "Looks like everything is good Mr. Nolan. You are a very healthy man" the nurse said. David nodded his head. "See I told you. I'm perfectly fine" David said. Just then Emma and Mary walked in. "So how is he" Emma asked the nurse. David rolled his eyes. "Could you please them I'm fine so they stop worrying so much" David said. The nurse laughed. "He is very healthy" the nurse said to Emma and Mary. "See so all that bloodwork they took was completely pointless" David said. David got off the bed and grabbed his leather jacket. "So am I free to go" David asked. The nurse nodded. "First I have to get the discharge papers" she said. "I wasn't a patient" David said. "It's protocol" the nurse said. David sighed. "Fine I guess I'll just wait here" David said sitting on the edge of the bed again. "I'll go with her" Emma said smiling at her father. David gave her a knowing look. He knew all Emma ever wanted was her parents to be together. That's all he wanted too.
Emma and the nurse left the room leaving David alone with Mary. He looked at her and smiled. "Thank you" he said. Mary shook her head. "I didn't do anything" she said. This time David shook his head. "You being there was enough" he said. Mary smiled shyly and looked away. "Your welcome" she said. "I also want to thank you for being there for Emma. I know that meant a lot to her" David said. "She's a beautiful young lady. You raised her well" Mary said. "Thank you" David said. There was a moment of silence before David asked the question he'd been wanting to ask. "So I was wondering if maybe you'd like to go out with me again. You know on a proper date without the coma patients waking up and everything" David said laughing. Mary laughed too and walked over to David so she was standing right in front of him. "I'd like that" she nodded smiling. "You know we never had a proper first date kiss either" David said. Mary shook her head. "No we didn't" she said. "Let's fix that" David said.
David had been waiting 18 years to kiss Snow again and it was finally going to happen. They leaned in to kiss each other when a woman ran into the room. "David" she yelled in disbelief and shock. David and Mary turned to look at the woman and before David knew it she ran over and gave him a passionate kiss. David was stunned for a moment but then he pulled back. He recognized the woman as Princess Abigail King Midas the woman his father tried to force him into marrying. He knew she didn't know who she actually was. "Not to be rude or anything but who are you" David asked wanting to know who she was in Storybrooke and why she just kissed him. Abigail looked at him shocked. "It's me Kathryn your wife" Kathryn said. David looked at her confused. "My what" David asked. Kathryn looked hurt. "They said you may have a hard time remembering" Kathryn said. David looked from Kathryn to Mary who was watching the scene in front of her hurt.
"David are you OK. I was told you had an accident and might have a little amnesia" Kathryn said checking David's head. "I'm fine" David said still looking at Mary. Kathryn grabbed his face in her hands and turned his face to look at her. "I am so sorry" Kathryn cried. David hating seeing women cry especially when it had to do with him and he didn't know what he did. "For what" David asked awkwardly. "Our fight. We had a heated argument and you stormed out of the house and you took Emma with you" Kathryn said. "Dad" they heard Emma call from the doorway. They all turned to look at her. Kathryn let go of David and walked over and hugged Emma. "I'm so sorry for ruining our family" Kathryn said. Emma looked at her father confused and David looked just as confused. Emma pulled back from the strange woman. "Who are you" Emma asked. Kathryn looked hurt again. "You were really young when your father took you away from me. I'm your mother Kathryn" Kathryn said.
"My what" Emma said having the same reaction David did when Kathryn told him about being his wife. "Your mother. We've been separated for so long but know that I found you two we can all be a family again" Kathryn said taking Emma's hand. Emma faked a smile. "How exactly did you know where we were" Emma asked. She was very suspicious of this whole thing. "I called her" James said standing behind Emma with Regina by his side. David and Emma glared at him. Kathryn let go of Emma's hand and walked over to where David was sitting and hugged him again. "I want us to try to be a family again" she said to David. David just continued glaring at James who had a smug look on his face that made David want to punch him. James and Regina pushed past Emma and the nurse and walked into the room. Regina looked at Mary and saw her looking away sadly. Regina smiled. "You know Kathryn this woman Mary Margaret Blanchard is the one who found David in the woods and brought him here. She's a real hero" Regina said.
Seeing Mary so heartbroken made James and Regina so happy. Kathryn let go of David and walked over to Mary. "Thank you for bringing back my husband and reuniting my family" Kathryn said. Mary looked between David and Kathryn. She gave Kathryn a fake smile. "Of course. I'm happy your family is reunited" Mary said politely. James walked over to David and put his arm on David's shoulders. "So am I. It's so great to see my brother reunited with his one true love. Isn't it David" James asked looking at David. David had never hated his brother as much as he did in this moment. He roughly pushed James off him. Mary couldn't take this anymore. "If you'll excuse me it's been a long night and I'm tired so I'm going to head home" Mary said leaving the room without looking at David. "Excuse me" David said getting off the bed and chasing after Mary. "Mary Margaret wait a second" David said catching up to Mary at the elevator.
"Please David just go" Mary said without looking at him. "Let me explain first" David said. Mary turned around and David saw tears in her eyes which broke his heart. "I don't want to hear anymore of your lies" Mary screamed at him surprising everyone in the hospital including herself. Mary looked around at everyone looking at them. "Please just go. Be with your family. I need to be alone" Mary said as the elevator came and she got in. She pushed the button for the door to close and David watched the door close his heart breaking even more for how sad Mary was. "Mr. Nolan" one of the nurses said from behind David. "What" David yelled turning around. The nurse jumped back a little and looked away from him. David realized he just yelled at the nurse and felt bad. "I'm sorry" he said. "You wanted to know when the John Doe woke up" the nurse said. Through everything that happened David had forgotten about Fredrick. "Yea take me to him" David said putting on his jacket and getting into cop mode. His personal life may be falling apart all around him but he still had a job to do. He would figure out the mess that was his life later. He'd figure out a way to fix this. He just had to.
