In the enchanted forest Snow and Charming were walking deeper in the forest. "There's one thing I don't understand" Snow said. "About what" Charming asked. "This whole you turning into a dragon thing. How did you become like this? Was it a curse? Were you bit by a dragon" Snow asked. Charming laughed and shook his head. "No it's nothing like that. I've always been this way" Charming said. "You were born like this" Snow said. "Yea me and James have been dragons ever since we were hatched" Charming said. Snow looked at him in surprise. "Hatched? You mean like from a egg" she asked. Charming nodded. "A dragon egg" he said. "So you and James were dragon's when you guys were hatched" Snow said. Charming shook his head again. "No we were human babies. We couldn't actually turn until we were 5 but we've always had our dragon abilities" Charming said. "So when you have kids will they hatch too" Snow asked.
"If I end up with someone who can also turn into a dragon then yes they will hatch too. If I end up with a human they will be born the regular way" Charming explained. "If you end up with a human will they still have their dragon abilities" Snow asked. Charming nodded again. "Yea they'll have dragon blood in them. It took me a while to accept my dragon side. I thought it made me a monster. My father always told me I was a horrible dragon and a disappointment to the family because the whole conquering kingdoms and having people fear me thing because I was a dragon wasn't for me. I was never good at the whole evil thing. I've always been fascinated by humans. All I ever wanted was to find love and start a family you know the normal life" Charming said. "There's nothing wrong with that" Snow said. Charming scoffed at that. "Well when your mother is the mistress of all evil and your father is literally evil incarnate you kind of tend to be a disappointment to them" he said.
"Well I like the person you are" Snow said. Charming smiled. "Wow you like me. I guess I moved up from being an annoyance then" he said. "You're not so bad" Snow said. They stopped walking and smiled at each other both feeling this undeniable connection to the other. Snow chuckled nervously and looked away. "So you probably want this" Charming said pulling a pouch out of his bag and handing it to Snow. Snow took the pouch and opened it. "Gold" she asked looking at Charming confused. "Just some gold I took from the pirate ship. It's my way of saying thank you" he said. Snow smiled at him. "Your welcome and thank you for this" she said pointing at the pouch. She attached it to her waist. "I think this belongs to you" Snow said handing Charming the pouch with his jewels in it. "Thanks" Charming said taking the pouch from her. He poured the jewels out into his hand and then he threw them. Snow looked at him in surprise. "What are you doing" she asked as he burned them with his fire breath.
"My father's not going to control anyone not anymore" Charming said. "Won't he be mad" Snow said. "I'm not scared of my father. Trust me there's nothing he can do to me that he hasn't already done. I just worry about my mother. I don't want her getting hurt" he said. Charming opened the pouch and shook it. Snow heard jingling coming from inside the pouch. "Besides this is the most important jewel I had in there" Charming said pulling out a ring. He chuckled remembering when he created the ring by molding rocks together with his fire breath. In the middle one of his mother's jewels that he stole when he was a little boy. The jewel was supposed to light up when the person he was destined to be with wore the ring. He didn't know if he believed that but it was a nice story. Charming looked at Snow. "I know. Not your style" he said. Snow smiled. "Well, there's only one way to find out" she said taking the ring from him and putting it on.
Snow held up her hand looking at the ring and Charming stared shocked. It was lighting up. This was who he was supposed to be with. He couldn't believe it. "What is it doing" Snow asked looking at it lighting up. Charming just stood there surprised. He didn't know how to tell her that when that ring was lighting up it meant they were meant to be together. Snow looked at Charming who just continued to stare. "David are you OK" she asked. Charming nodded his head. "I'm fine. The ring can tell good from evil. It grows when it's around good people" Charming lied. He knew it was a lame lie but he really couldn't think of anything else to say. Snow just shrugged her shoulders. "Well, it's not me at all" Snow said. She took the ring off and handed it back to Charming. "I'm sure your fiancée will love it" Snow said. Charming just stood there for a moment not believing what just happened and then chuckled and took the ring putting it back in the pouch.
"You know, if you need more, I can give you some of my family's jewels. I mean the one's my father hasn't cursed. My parents won't miss them" Charming said. "No, I'm good. Thanks. We both got what we wanted" Snow said. Charming nodded. "Well, wherever you're going, be careful. If you need anything" Charming started to say. "You'll find me" Snow finished for him. "Always" Charming said. "I almost believe that" Snow said. Charming smiled at her. Snow picked up her bag and lifted it over her shoulder. "Well, goodbye, Snow White" Charming said. "Goodbye, Prince Charming" Snow said bowing. "I told you. It's David" Charming said. "No, still like Charming better" Snow said shaking her head. They both chuckled. Snow started walking away as Charming stood there watching her go. He was having feelings he couldn't explain but he couldn't think about that now. He had to marry Princess Abigail. He couldn't let whatever these feelings were for Snow White get in the way of that. He started to walk away in the opposite direction. Snow stopped walking and turned around watching Charming walking in the other direction towards King Midas's castle. Snow stood there and let out a small smile. She was having feelings for David but he was engaged. It would never work out between them. She was never going to see David again. She just hoped he would be happy. She turned around and started walking not thinking about how sad it made her that she would never see David again.
On the other side of the enchanted forest deep in the forest Jack Sparrow walked into a tiny tavern. He looked around waiting. Just then a woman stepped out from the back and smiled at him. "Jack Sparrow what a pleasant surprise" the woman said. Jack smiled at the woman. "Hello Tia. I need a new ship. Mine was destroyed" Jack said. The woman, Tia Dalma, smiled. "Yes I know. The dragon destroyed your ship and all of the magical weapons I gave you" Tia said. Jack nodded. "Not to worry my dear Tia. Once I get a new ship and more magical weapons to fight against the dragon revenge will be mine" he said. Tia's smile faded off her face. "You are not to hurt that dragon" Tia said. Jack looked at her confused. "Since when do you care if I hurt dragons. You've always been willing to help me with your magical weapons" Jack said. "This dragon is special" Tia said. "What's so special about him" Jack asked. Tia smiled again.
"It's not him that's special but rather what he will create" Tia said. Jack looked at her confused. "The savior. Him and his princess, Snow White, are going to have a daughter. Their true love is going to create the savior. That's why he's so important" Tia said. Jack was still confused. "Savior of what" he asked. Tia shook her head. Apparently she was going to have to spell out everything for him. "Things are going to change very soon Jack. The King and Queen are going to do something that will have serious repercussions for everyone. We, my dear friend, are going to take advantage of it" Tia said. "What are they going to do" Jack asked. "They are going to cast a powerful curse. One that will tear families apart and take away everyone's happy endings. The people of this kingdom will be going to a new land. The land without magic. No one will remember who they are" Tia explained. Jack thought for a moment. "Even us" he asked. Tia shook her head. "No we will be safe from the curse" Tia said.
"How" Jack asked. "With my magic. It will protect us" Tia said. Jack looked at her unsure. "If this curse really is as powerful as you say it is then how do you know your magic will be enough to protect us" Jack asked. Tia put on a devilish smile. "I know my magic will protect us because I created this curse" Tia said and then shrugged. "Well helped create the curse. I know how to protect us from it" she said walking over to a shelf of potions. "Why would you create this curse" Jack asked. Tia walked back over with a potion in hand. "This curse is going to give us everything. Me it will give ultimate power and you will be the richest man in any realm" Tia said pouring the potion into her cauldron. Jack smiled. "I like the sound of that. When are the king and queen going to cast the curse" he asked. "Patience my dear captain. The king and queen will cast this curse and the savior will break it. Everything will go according to plan" Tia explained. Jack looked at her confused.
"I thought you wanted this curse cast. How would it getting broken go according to plan" Jack asked. Tia smiled sinisterly. "The reason I want this curse cast is so that it gets broken. There's something not even the dark one knows about this curse" Tia said. "What is that" Jack asked. "You see the savior will break the curse but what no one knows is that she will awaken a magic that is even more powerful than her own. That is what I want and your going to help me get it" Tia said. Jack shook his head. "How I don't have any magic" he said. "You won't need any. Once the curse is cast a medallion will come into existence but it will be spilt in two halves. One here the other in the land without magic. I will be going to the land without magic and you will still be here. Your job will be to find the half that will be here and I will find the other half. Then when we reunite we will ignite it and that power will be ours" Tia said.
"That sounds like a plan" Jack said. Tia waved her hand. "A new ship is waiting for you at the docks fully equipped with weapons. You can continue hunting your dragons but remember the prince is off limits" Tia said. Jack bowed. "Of course my lady" he said. Jack left the tavern. Tia smiled and went to the back. She had to get everything ready for when she ended up in the new land. Their was some magic she would be taking with her. Everything was going according to plan. She had moved the events of that night into place so that the king hated his brother and the queen hated that pure princess. She had even manipulated the dark one by making sure he got the prophecy but leaving some parts out of it. Everyone would be so busy worrying about each other no one would see her coming and when they did it would be too late. She would be the most powerful being there was even more powerful than the dark one. All she had to do was wait. Her plan would come together in no time.
In Storybrooke the nurse led David into Fredrick's room. He was awake and looked at David when he entered the room. Fredrick had been handcuffed to the bed as he was under arrest for attacking David. The nurse left so that the two men could have a conversation. "My name is David Nolan. I am the deputy here in Storybrooke" David said. "I'm Paul" Fredrick said. Paul? That was going to take some getting used to but David had to go with the flow here. "Alright Paul you want to tell me why you ran away from the hospital and into the woods" David asked. "I didn't hurt anyone did I" Paul asked. "You don't remember" David asked. Paul shook his head. "I sometimes black out and I can't remember what I've done. The last thing I remember is coming home from work late and I guess I got into some sort of crash or something because I don't remember anything after that" Paul said. He looked down at his handcuffed arm. "Is that why I'm handcuffed" he asked.
Before David could answer James walked into the room. "What is the meaning of this" James asked David. "Nothing I'm just asking the man who attacked me and almost killed me some questions" David said. James rolled his eyes. "Well obviously your fine so it's no big deal. Uncuff him now" James said. David shook his head. "I can't do that. He is under arrest for almost killing me. He's obviously dangerous" David said. "Almost is the key word there. Unfortunately he failed. Now uncuff him" James said. "No" David said. James walked up to David. "Uncuff him now or it's your badge" James said. "You can't fire me. Graham hired me" David said. James laughed. "You might want to look up the law in Storybrooke because if the mayors feel that someone isn't doing a good job with their job they can fire them. Now I am done asking uncuff him or your done" James said. David and James stood there in a stare down for a minute before David walked over and uncuffed Paul.
He had no choice. If he wasn't the deputy anymore he wouldn't be able to help people against James and Regina. He was the only one in any position of power who was willing to stand up to them. Him and Emma were the only two people in this town who weren't cursed. James smiled. "Good job David. Now leave and let the adults talk" James said. Paul looked over at David. "I'm sorry" Paul said. David just stared at Paul for a minute. "I'll be keeping my eye on you" he said as he left the room. Once David closed the door and was out of the room James turned to Paul. "You did good. You remember our deal" he asked. Paul looked at James and nodded. "Take care of your brother and you and your wife will make sure I'm properly taken care of" Paul said. James nodded. "Don't fail next time" James said as he went to leave the room. "You better not be lying about him. He better be this bad person you say he is" Paul said. "Trust me when I say this, David is the worst kind of man you will ever meet" James said.
James walked down the hall of the hospital. "James" he heard his brother call out from behind him. James rolled his eyes and turned around. "David. Don't you have better things to do than bother? Don't you have a wife waiting for you" James asked giving David a smug smile. David wanted to punch that smile off his face. He controlled himself. The last thing he needed was to give James the satisfaction of being able to go after him for attacking him. "What do you want with Fredrick" David asked. "Nothing. I just want to make sure you don't violate his rights. I mean look at you arresting a man in the hospital. That's pretty low" James said. "He tried to kill me" David said. James rolled his eyes again. "Well then he would have done us all a favor. Now you might want to get back to Katherine, your wife" James said turning around and walking away. "I'm not going to play your game" David called out. James turned back around. "Really" he said.
"I'm not going to pretend to be married to Katherine" David said. James laughed and walked toward David. "You have no choice" James said stopping right in front of David. The two twins were face to face. "Actually I do. I know what's going on. I remember everything I beat your curse and Emma is going to break it" David said. James laughed again. "Your right you remember everything. Go ahead tell everyone that me and Regina are the evil king and queen and we cursed everyone. I bet Mary Margaret would believe you or more likely her and everyone else in this town would think your crazy and lock you up in the mental institution. So your options are be in a loveless marriage while the woman you actually loves hate you or everyone in this town thinks your crazy and they lock you up. Either way I win and you lose" James said still smugly smiling at David. "Why do you want Abigail to believe she's married to me" David asked. "It was a little failsafe I put into the curse for when you and Emma came here" James said.
"It was a way to control you just in case you and Snow got too close. You have no choice but to play the role of devoted husband to Katherine. You and Snow aren't going to be together. You're never going to get your happy ending" James said. David glared at James furious. His mother was wrong. There was no good inside James. "Your just like dad" David said. The smile faded from James's face and it was replaced by a look of pure rage. Before David knew what happened James punched him in the face. Then before David had a chance to react James threw him against the wall hard and pinned him there with his elbow on David's throat cutting off his air supply. "Don't you ever compare me to that monster. I'm nothing like him. He didn't love either one of us or mom. I love Regina and Henry. That man didn't know what love was" James yelled as David struggled to breathe. James considered keeping his elbow on David's throat until he stopped breathing. That would solve all his problems.
After about a minute James released his brother and David fell to floor coughing, grasping for air. "I think you learned your lesson" James said to his brother. "What did you do to mom" David asked between coughs. James kneeled down next to David. "Mom was an unfortunate casualty of this curse. I miss her everyday" James lied. He wasn't about to tell David that she was alive and risk him opening his big mouth again and telling Regina she was still alive or finding her himself. She didn't need David. He was the only son she needed. David stood up and took out his gun and pointed it at James. He had killed their mother. "She was wrong. There is no good left in you" David said. James laughed again. "What are you going to do? Shoot me. You couldn't kill me when you had the chance the last time" James said. David stood there and tried to pull the trigger but James was right. He couldn't kill him. He was still his brother. David lowered his gun. "That's what I thought. Good night David" James said walking away.
Later that night, David pulled up to the house him and Emma would be living in with Kathryn. Emma looked at her father concerned. He had been quiet since they left the hospital and he looked really upset. "Dad are you OK" Emma asked. "I don't know if we can do it" David said. "Do what" Emma asked. "Break this curse reunite our family. I don't know if we'll be able to beat it" David said. "We will. I know we will. You just have to believe" Emma said. "Believe in what? We're in this stupid town where all of my friends are cursed. My mother is dead. Your mother hates me" David said. "How do you know grandma is dead? Did you find her body" Emma asked. David shook his head. "James told me. He killed her. He killed his own mother" David said tears in his eyes. Emma was shocked this was the first time she had ever seen her father cry. "Dad I'm sorry" Emma said. "She was always there. No matter what I did or said to her she never left my side. She always loved me. I hoped we would find her too but now I'm never going to see her again" David said and he punched the steering wheel.
Emma hated seeing her dad like this but for 18 years he had always been strong and been there for her. Now she was going to do the same thing for him. "Dad we're going to beat this. I don't know how but I know we're going to beat this and we will do it together. We're going to reunite our family and bring back all the happy endings" Emma said. David was quiet for a minute but then looked at Emma. "I miss Snow" he said. Emma nodded her head. "I know you do. You and mom will be back together soon I promise. I just need you to believe" Emma said. David thought about that for a moment and hugged Emma. "Thank you" he said. Emma smiled. "Of course you've always been there for me and now I'm going to be here for you" Emma said. "I love you so much" David said. "I love you too" Emma said. "I guess we have to go inside" David said. "For now until I break the curse" Emma said. David nodded his head. "Until you break the curse" he said. They got out of the car took their stuff out of the trunk and walked up to the house knowing the roles they had to play. Emma was right. They would beat this. They'd bring back all the happy endings and he would make James pay for what he did to their mother.
