David woke up around a hour later. His eyes were hurting him so he started to rub them. Memories of what happened came back to him. Ashley pepper sprayed him and he hit the cabinet and ended up knocked out. What was she doing in here? He had to find her before someone else did. He put his hand to chest and realized he was missing his leather jacket. She must have taken it from him while he was unconscious. David stood up and looked around. Even though his vision wasn't the best right now he could see that the safe on the wall was opened. He walked over to it and looked inside. Whatever was in there was gone. He reached into his pocket searching for his phone but found that it was gone. So were both sets of keys. He found he still had his wallet and breathed a sigh of relief. He opened it and found she took all of his money and cards. He grabbed his gun off the floor and his flashlight and walked out of the shop. He found his truck was missing and started walking home.
The next morning James woke up next to Regina and saw that she was waking up too and smiled. He pulled her closer to him. Regina smiled back at him. "Good morning" Regina said. "Good morning beautiful" James said. "It's Saturday so you know what that means" James said starting to kiss Regina's neck. "I have no idea what that means" Regina said playfully knowing full well what he meant. James stopped kissing her and looked up at her. "It's our day off. We can stay in bed all day if we want and I can make love to my beautiful wife all day if I wanted to" James said going back to kissing her moving down her body this time. Regina laughed. "You know we do have a son we have to take care of" Regina said. James stopped kissing her and looked up at her again. "I know but we can sneak in some fun throughout the day" James said going back to kissing her. Regina sighed. "I actually do have to work today" she said. James looked up at her again. "What are you talking about" he asked.
"I have a city council meeting to attend. Unfortunately I'm going to have to hear their pathetic problems" Regina said. "Just cancel" James said. "I can't. We have to play the part of mayor to these people. It'll only take a couple of hours" Regina said. James got out of the bed. "I could go with you if you want. They'd probably like it more if we were both there" he said. Regina got out of bed and gave James a quick kiss. "You can't" she said going into the bathroom. James followed after her. "Why not" he asked. Regina turned to look at him. "Someone needs to stay and watch Henry. He's very sneaky. Besides if his memories start to come back you'll need to deal with that. The last thing we need is his memories coming back and your brother getting into his head" she said. James sighed. He knew she was right but it still sucked she had to work on their day off. Regina grabbed James's hand. "Come into the shower with me. We can clean each other off" Regina said walking with James to the shower.
After having their fun in the shower James and Regina got dressed and headed downstairs. While James was making breakfast Henry walked into the kitchen and sat down at the table. "Morning" he said yawning. "Good morning sweetheart" Regina said walking over kissing his head and walking out of the kitchen. "Morning Henry. Breakfast is almost ready" James said. "Ok Dad" Henry said nodding his head. He started reading his comic book. Once breakfast was ready James walked over to the table with the food. "Looks like it's just going to be you and me today buddy" James said sitting down at the table. "What about mom" Henry asked. "Your mother has a city council meeting to attend" James said as he took a bite of his eggs. "Shouldn't you be going with her too" Henry asked. James shook his head. "Not this time buddy. They only need one mayor there" James said taking another bite. "OK" Henry said turning his attention back to his comic book.
James reached across the table and took the comic book out of Henry's hands. "Hey I was reading that" Henry said. "Eat your breakfast first. Then you can have it back" Henry rolled his eyes and started eating his breakfast. "I know you think otherwise but I don't enjoy these Saturday city council meetings. Sometimes their just unavoidable" Regina yelled in from the living room where she was fixing her makeup in the mirror. Regina walked back into the kitchen and kissed Henry on the head again. "I love you Henry" Regina said. "I love you too mom" Henry said. Regina grabbed Henry's chin and turned his face to her. "Listen to your father" she said. Henry nodded. "I will" he said. Regina walked over to James and kissed him. "I love you" she said. "I love you too" James said back. Regina walked out of the kitchen and to the front door. "I'll be back in time for lunch" Regina yelled out as she opened the door. She jumped a little when she saw Mr. Gold standing there.
"Mr. Gold how can I help you" Regina asked annoyed to have to deal with the man in front of her. Mr. Gold smiled at her. "I was hoping I could speak to your husband" Mr. Gold said. "About what" Regina asked. "Well that would be between me and him" Mr. Gold answered. Before Regina could say anything James came up to the door. "Mr. Gold what are you doing here" he asked. Mr. Gold turned his attention to James. "I wanted to speak to you" he said to James. James turned to Regina. "I'll handle this. You go to that meeting" James said. Regina looked between James and Mr. Gold. "Are you sure" she asked. James kissed her. "I'm positive. You don't want to be late for that meeting" James said. After a moment of hesitation Regina left. When her car pulled out of the driveway James turned to Mr. Gold. "Now what can I do for you" James asked him. "I was robbed last night" Mr. Gold said. James looked at him confused. "Well shouldn't you go to the police" he asked.
"I thought you'd be interested to know that my safe was broken into" Mr. Gold said. James continued to look at him confused. "So what does that have to do with me" he asked. "There were a lot of valuable things in there. Not just of mine but yours to" Mr. Gold said. James still looked confused. "Remember the deal we made for me to guard your property with my life" Mr. Gold said. Finally it all clicked for James. "Who took it" James asked. Mr. Gold handed James a picture. "Ashley. That stupid girl" James said. "I can't seem to find her anywhere and since you someone who is particularly good at finding people I figured I'd come to you" Mr. Gold said. James nodded. "That was a smart idea" he said. James looked back into the kitchen at Henry who was reading his comic book again. "Just give me one second" he said walking into the kitchen. James walked outside to the guest house. He knocked on the door. Paul answered. "I need you to watch Henry for me for a little while" James said. Paul nodded.
Across town David was finishing breakfast for him and Emma. Katherine had another early morning so she wasn't home right now. "Emma breakfast is ready" David called upstairs. Emma came into the kitchen and stopped when she saw her dad. He looked ready to go to work. "Dad what are you doing" Emma asked as she walked over to the table. "Just getting ready to eat breakfast with my favorite daughter" David said sitting down at the table. Emma shook her head. "No I mean why do you look like your ready to go to the station" Emma asked sitting down. "I have to Emma. Ashley stole my jacket phone keys truck and all of my money. I'm lucky she didn't steal the shirt off my back too. I have to find her and the station has the resources to do that" David said. Emma sighed and took some of the pancakes her father made and put them on her plate. "Fine I'll drive you to the station after breakfast" Emma said. "Thanks" David said smiling at her.
The doorbell rang and David got up and answered it. He was shocked to see who was standing on the other side of the door. "Mary Margaret" David said staring in surprise. Mary looked at him nervously. "Can I come in" she asked. David nodded. "Yes of course" he said moving out of the way so Mary could enter. David closed the door and looked at Mary. "Not that I'm not happy to see you but what are you doing here" David asked. Mary looked at him apologetically. "I wanted to apologize for my blowup in the hospital. I was wrong" Mary said but David interrupted her. "You don't need to apologize honestly. If anything I should apologize to you" David said. "For what? Having a wife" Mary asked. David shook his head. "For not telling you about my wife. I should have told you" David said lying to her. James really screwed him over. He almost had his family reunited and James messed that up for him. Mary shook her head. "We both made mistakes" Mary said. She held out her hand. "Friends" she said.
David smiled and shook Mary's hand. "Friends" he said. "Miss Blanchard" Emma said walking into the room. Mary turned to Emma and smiled. "Hi. It's good to see you and I already told you call me Mary" she said. Before Emma could answer her the doorbell rang again. David answered it and saw Mr. Gold and James standing there. Mr. Gold smiled at David and held out his hand. "Hi I'm Mr. Gold. We met briefly when you and your daughter arrived" he said as David shook his hand. "I remember now what can I do for you Mr. Gold" David asked. "Good. We have a proposition for you Mr. Nolan" Mr. Gold said. "Yea David you can finally make yourself useful" James said pushing past David and into the house. He stopped when he noticed Mary standing there. "What are you doing here? You are aware he has a wife. They don't need your sluttish ways around here" James said. David was fuming. He pinned James to the wall. "What did you call her" David yelled at his brother.
"I'm going to go" Mary said starting to walk away but Emma stopped her. "You don't have to leave" Emma said. Mary shook her head. "I think I do" she said leaving the house. David punched James hard. "Ever call her a slut again and I'll do more than punch you" David said. "We're looking for someone" Mr. Gold said. David turned and looked at the man outside his door. David was about to tell them he wasn't going to help them when Emma stepped forward. "Come in" she said. David looked at Emma surprised. Emma closed the door. "I have a photo" Mr. Gold said taking out the photo of Ashley and handing it to David. David let out a sigh and took the photo from Mr. Gold. He looked at it surprised. "Ashley" David said. "She's taken something quite valuable of mine" Mr. Gold said. David handed him the photo back. "You could go down to the sheriff's station. I'm sure Graham would be happy to help you" David said not wanting to help his brother or the dark one with whatever they had planned for Ashley.
"She's missing and finding people is what you do" James said. David glared at him. "She's a confused young woman and she's pregnant. Alone, scared. We don't want to ruin this young girls life" Mr. Gold said. "This has to stay off the record. That's why we came to you" James said. "Why do you need it off the record" Emma asked. "We don't want anyone to get in trouble. I just want my property back" Mr. Gold said. David looked between the both of them. "I'm the deputy sheriff. I have to report this" David said. James rolled his eyes. "If you do this for us you won't get in trouble if it's off the record. I'll make sure nothing happens to your job. Just do this for me your brother. Please" James said. David looked at James and could tell he wasn't lying. James was sincerely asking for his help. David rolled his eyes and sighed. "Fine I'll help you" David said and Emma looked at her father shocked. He had always followed the law and never did anything off the record.
"You might want to remove that badge from your belt seeing as how this isn't official business" James said. David took his sheriff's badge off his belt and threw it on the table. David turned to Mr. Gold. "What did she take from you" David asked him. "One of the advantages of this being off the record is discretion. Let's just say it's a precious object and leave it at that" Mr. Gold said. "When'd you see her last" David asked. "I don't think you should be asking us that. That scar on your head says you were the last one to see her before she went wherever she went. Last night in his shop" James said. David looked at him shocked. "I'm sorry about that Mr. Nolan. You were just answering a call and she attacked you. This is so unlike her" Mr. Gold said. "Yea I don't know what got into her. Someone must have given her some really bad advice" James said. David stared at James curiously. Did he know what David told her in that laundry room?
"Mr. Nolan please just help us find her" Mr. Gold said. "If you don't help us we'll have no choice but to make this official and then she'll go to jail and that baby will be born in jail" James said. "I don't think anyone wants to see that baby born in jail now do they" Mr. Gold asked David. "No of course not" David said. "So you'll help us then" James asked. David thought for a moment. "I'll help her" he answered. "Thank you Mr. Nolan" Mr. Gold said leaving. James went to leave to but stopped in front of David. "When you find her bring her directly to me" James said. David looked at him confused. "Why" David asked. "I just want to talk to her" James said. David just stared at him. "Why are you so interested in her" he asked. James laughed. "That's above your paygrade. Just bring her directly to me" James said as he left the house. David just stood there. "Dad you can't seriously be thinking of helping them" Emma said. David turned to look at Emma.
"Of course I'm not. I just got to find her before they do" David said. He left the room and came back a minute later in a blue leather jacket. "I'm going to need your keys" David said to Emma. "Wait a second I'll get my coat and come with you" Emma said. "No your staying here" David said. "But Dad that's not fair" Emma said. "If your uncle and the dark one are involved that means it's too dangerous. You're staying here. Now Emma your keys please" David said holding out his hand. Emma handed him her keys. David walked over and kissed her head. "I'll be back soon. I love you princess" David said. "I love you to dad" Emma said. David walked out of the house. Emma stood there watching her father leave. She waited a minute before following after him. She couldn't let him go out there by himself. She had to help. She was the savior for crying out loud. It was about time she started doing some saving.
