Majo Kon-ki The Marriage of Tanya the Witch
(The marriage chronicles of a witch)
Prologue 2
September 30, AD 1987, an orphanage in the outskirts of Hastings.
"You are the one that the letter in the owl said would come?"
"Yes. I am Professor Severus Snape. It's a pleasure to meet you." Said the dark robed man, a bored tone in his voice.
"… Tanya Degurechaff. The pleasure is all mine…" The child replied, with an equally bored tone in her voice.
"Is this… the 'dark witch in disguise'…? Looks like a regular kid to me…" the professor thought, predicting this was a waste of time.
Just one day before, professor Severus Snape was given a mission. He was to ascertain the true identity of a young girl involved in a recent incident using the pretext of introducing her to the wizarding world. Should he uncover any evidence that she had magically altered her form, he was to report his findings to the ministry. And if she is actually a child unaware of her status as magical… the proper explanation would, then, be given.
"…"
"Am I at the right place…?" He was expecting someone more… menacing. Or at least a taller girl… Not one that was this small, even for her age. As a matter of fact… she looked kind of frail…
"Something wrong with my face?" She asked, noticing he was staring at her.
"No. Its just… You don't look anything like the report said."
"Report…? Oh! From those amateurish soldiers?" She commented, a frown in her face.
"Amateurish?! Those were hit wizards! The elite of the Magical Law Enforcement!" He said with a little indignation.
"Really? Then, if I was you, I would be very worried for my own safety… I mean, if those seven are the best you can afford…" she sighed.
"'Worried for my own safety'? Could she be threatening me? This insolent brat!" He thought, giving her a nasty glare.
The professor was used to children cornering in fear with his glaring, yet, Tanya Degurechaff just stared back with the same bored expression.
"What do you mean by that?" he decided to ask.
"Isn't it obvious? You guys need better management of your human resources."
"Human resources?"
"I see…?" The professor was starting to comprehend that this child was not a regular one.
"Well… Let's start this already… First, an Imperturbable Charm." Snape thought, raising his wand.
In the blink of an eye he had a wand pointed to him.
"Wha-"
"What are you trying to do?" She asked, a cold expression on her face.
He was frozen in place, trying hard to keep an impassive expression.
"Where she get that? She shouldn't have access to a wand. Unless… Oh! That's right! One from the hit wizards was never found…"
She was still pointing the wand at him, waiting for his answer.
"…I was just going to cast a charm at the door. So that nobody can listen to what we are about to discuss."
"…" she looked at the door for a moment and then back at him.
"…Alright. But don't point that stick in my direction." She said, lowering down the wand.
After a few wand movements, the room was secure against any possible eavesdropping.
"…" she was watching him carefully.
His opinion on her was changing… She didn't look so frail anymore. But it would take far more to make him believe she was anything beyond a smart kid.
"Now, where do I begin?"
"Let's see if you really don't know anything or are just faking ignorance… I will use the standard presentation…"
"Miss Degurechaff you are a witch…"
"Hum?!" She looked insulted.
"That's not a very nice thing to say to somebody!" She crossed her arms.
"!" For a moment, he was distracted by an old memory.
"… Lily said the exact same sentence… Now that I think back… She learned about this world through me." Snape let an inward smile at the memory, but shook his head to regain focus.
"No… You misunderstand me. A witch is…"
Severus Snape then explained about the existence of magic. That the ones capable of using it were wizards and witches. And at the age of eleven they started magical education in order to join the wizarding world, a magical community living apart from the regular society.
The professor watched as Tanya listened intently to every word he said. And believed that this was the first time she heard this explanation.
"So, mages also- I mean, there are mages in this world. And they live in some sort of secret society?"
"We don't use the term 'mages'. And… Yes… I guess you could call us a secret society, we live separated from non-magical or, as we call them, muggles. Using a combination of muggle repelling charms and isolated areas we are able to keep our affairs hidden from mundane eyes."
"Wait! You said 'muggle repelling charms' and 'imperturbable charm'. And before, you cast a charm at the door. You can use magic in many other roles besides war?"
"Hum? She thinks magic is mainly for war?"
"Unfortunately, some wizards use it for war. But mostly we use it for our day-to-day affairs."
"Oh!" there was surprise in her eyes.
"So… you can use magic basically for anything as long as you don't let people see?"
"Not exactly. There are more rules, like, children are not allowed to use magic without supervision until they come of age."
"… Is that why your people send those soldiers after me?"
"They are not soldiers, more like the wizard equivalent of police officers, but… yes, they were sent to investigate an unidentified usage of magic."
"Actually… About that incident… I really need to hear your side…"
The incident happened a few days ago when the ministry sent someone to investigate signs of magic usage of unknown origin in the region of Hastings. Usually, these cases were merely common occurrences such as the casting of accidental magic done by a muggle born child. In reality, those incidents were so common that the investigator was already used to the routine of just identifying the child and letting a teacher from Hogwarts take over with the formal introduction. But that day, she was caught off guard by a completely different scenario.
Now, it must be mentioned that even after almost six years of peace, the war is still fresh in people's minds. And the investigator, arriving at the site of the detected magic, an old and seemingly abandoned factory, saw flashes of curses between the sound of explosions and what she described as a high pitched and 'evil' laughter. It was easy to understand why the poor woman, in her panic-stricken state, chose to ignore protocol and immediately called for reinforcements not from the Auror office but from the Magical Law Enforcement Squad.
What happened after that… could only be described as a total mess.
Days later, the members of the seven men squad were still pretty much shaken and couldn't give a full report of the events, but for what could be understood, they were caught complete by surprise, easily defeated and captured, entrapped in some sort of Acromantula web and hanged upside down as the perpetrator tried to force answers out of them.
The most shocking part of this incident was that the culprit was identified as Tanya Degurechaff, a seven years old orphan without any known magical parentage, living in an orphanage a few miles from the site.
Many assumptions were made about the young attacker, the most alarming was that she was in truth a hidden death eater. And given Severus Snape's former affiliations, he was the obvious choice to clear the matter.
"… and what were you doing in such a place?" Snape asked, taking the scenery of the abandoned factory, the place had no illumination besides the few rays of sun that came through the numerous cracks in the ceiling and walls.
"I came to practice my magic." Tanya said as if it was very obvious.
"Practice…? But you already knew you could perform such things?"
"W-well… I always felt different from the other children. So, I came to this place to test just how much I was different… You know… Where no one could see me…"
"Hum…"
"Makes sense… She was just testing what she could do…"
"But the investigator claimed that there was someone casting blowing curses."
"You mean this?" she held out her open palm at one of the walls, immediately a ball of blue light flew at it creating a crater.
"!" Snape had barely managed to hide the shock in his face.
"When she said that she was testing her magic, I thought of a levitation or a summoning charm, the most common in cases of accidental magic… But a Reductor Curse?! And wandless…? And nonverbal?"
"C-can you do anything else?"
She took the wand from before.
"When I took this stick-"
"That is called a 'wand'."
"Well, when I took this wand from one of the wizards, I noted that my mana became more-"
"Mana?"
"I mean… my magic became concentrated in a single point, more strong. I didn't want to hurt those men, so I imagined something that would only detain…"
"…Then this happened." she pointed the wand and something similar to a spider web shot at the wall. Again, Snape had a hard time hiding the surprise in his eyes.
"She learned to use a wand in the middle of a confrontation…? And… I never saw a spell like that!"
"For a moment I was amazed… fortunately, they were more astonished than me. So, I used that to my advantage to capture them quickly."
"Hum… So she basically took them by surprise…"
"Next, I learned I could do levitation too, so I suspended them upside down-"
"Why did you do that?" The professor interrupted.
"It was a strategy. I just didn't know what was happening. Or who they were. I needed answers, and thought that if they were scared enough it would make them more talkative."
"The scared part worked, but they were trembling and even crying, still they didn't say a thing." She seemed frustrated admitting that.
"That was because hit wizards make several unbreakable vows, they would not talk, no matter how much they feared you." The professor explained.
"Unbreakable vow…? Is that something akin to a hypnotic state? They just forgot what they knew?"
"No. It's a type of binding magical contract. In this case they vowed to never disclose any information in case of capture, they had to keep quiet no matter what. Or the broken vow would kill them."
"Really? Wow! Magic is surely a convenient thing in this world. Even more than-"
"Hum? 'This world'?"
"Errr… N-no, forget that."
"Well… and then? What did you do after that?"
"I kept trying to make them talk, but since it seemed useless, I left, after all… I was completely in the dark about who they were and what they wanted with me. And there was the chance that someone could come looking for them."
"Smart thinking. Another team was dispatched after the first didn't report back."
"And? That was all?"
"Yes. I ran back to the orphanage. I even watched to see if I was being followed, but… a few hours later, an owl flew by my window bringing a message in its leg, it said that a teacher would come to talk to me."
"…I see."
"So, to summarize… this young muggle born came here to learn about her own magic, found out she could use the Reductor Curse… In self defense, beat seven grown wizards- Oh, a small correction… utterly defeated seven grown and experienced hit wizards with such mastery that they were captured with wounds only to their pride and… lets not forget that in the chaos of the battle, she learned to cast a type of web and also the levitation charm… and made her leave predicting that reinforcements were in the way…"
"…"
"HOW THE HELL I AM GOING TO REPORT THAT?"
"No one is gonna believe this nonsense! Worse! They might believe I am covering for a fellow death eater!"
"After all, this is the weirdest tale since the defeat of the dark lord by an infant."
"Its hard to admit but I was wrong. Either she is some sort of genius or a powerful witch transfigured to look like a child, just like the hit wizards stated."
"… I still know absolutely nothing about her…"
"…"
"Its time to show why I was picked for this job!"
"Excuse me, but could you explain everything again?" Snape asked her, already plotting his next action.
"There is nothing that a mere child can do against a skillful Legilimens…"
"Everything?!" She seemed displeased.
"… and if she blocks me with occlumency, it will be all the proof I need that she is an experienced witch!"
"Yes, from the beginning, please."
Tanya sighed but nodded her head. She turned her back to him and pointed to the entrance of the ruined factory to start her explanation from the beginning. This was all the distraction the professor needed to mentally cast his spell.
"I shall peer into your mind now. Legilimens!"
"Well, I found this place because it was in the way from-"
Snape expanded his consciousness in the direction of Tanya. But before he could reach her, his mind felt an 'impact', like he had physically hit a brick wall at the same time that a flash of light flared around the girl.
"What?! I was blocked?! But that wasn't occlumency, it seemed more like some sort of shield charm!"
"What was that?!" Tanya asked, surprised. And already pointing her wand against him.
Snape cursed mentally also drawing his own wand against her.
"…"
"…"
For a full minute both keep staring at each other without making a sound. Expecting the other to make a move.
In the end, it was Snape who broke the standoff.
"Listen-"
"WHAT WAS THAT?!" she asked again not hiding how angry she was.
"W-well… that was the legilimency spell."
"The legili- what?"
"Its a charm that allows the caster to see memories, emotions and thoughts."
"You tried to read- no… to invade my mind?! Why?!" If before she was angry, now she is furious.
"This is the main reason I was called to meet you. To verify if you are a threat to magical Britain."
"Why would I be a threat-"
"You are too unusual. You are capable of doing things that no child your age should be. Just look at that incident. It's unheard of a child that just learned about magic to be able to capture a grown and capable wizard, much less seven."
"… From my point of view, you guys are the ones to blame… You send soldiers after me… to perhaps kidnap me or maybe even kill me… and now you try to invade my mind? Some would take this as a declaration of war!" she argued back.
"I must check if you really are who you look to be…"
"… because, if I don't, the ministry will send aurors next, maybe more hit wizards. They will keep coming after you and I doubt you can take them all by surprise again."
"…" she seemed to think hard about this.
"You are saying that I have no choice…"
"I promise that anything that I see in your mind-"
"NO!" she screamed.
"N-no one is going to… against my will… again…" She started trembling and he could barely hear some of her whispers.
He thought that a chance to stun her would come. Yet, she kept her guard up, despite the fact that she was trembling so hard that her legs looked like they were about to give up…
"Is she afraid of something? This looks like some sort of psychological trauma…"
"What do you mean-"
"Can you check without having to see my mind?" She asked in a high tone, regaining her composure.
He was puzzled by the abrupt change and made a mental note to check later should an opportunity arise.
"There are other ways… Yes. I will need a piece of you. A small lock of your hair should be enough."
"Very well. But if you try anything like that again, I will not go easy on you."
Despite the threat, Snape let out a big sigh of relief.
Tanya allowed the professor to take a few hair strands from her. He immediately started his examination.
His first step was to cast the revelio charm to see if it was under any form of transfiguration. There was no change perceived, but it was possible that measures were taken to prevent exposure, like multiple layered spells. With such thoughts, Snape applied the general counter-spell to terminate a possible enchantment, but again, no change.
Next, Snape tried all spells he could remember to reveal any irregularity, any magically induced change… yet, the strands of hair remained the same. At last, he took a few vials from his pocket, confident that his skill as a potion master would finally unveil the truth… The results were, once again, the same.
"THIS CAN'T BE!" He shouted, greatly astonished.
"What? Something wrong?" She had remained silent during the examination but now reacted to the professor's shout, a tinge of worry in her voice.
"N-no. It's just… This shows that you are really just a seven year old girl. No polyjuice, no transfiguration spell. Y-you are really just a kid!"
She let go a breath, as if relieved for some reason.
"O-of course I am… Are you convinced now?"
Snape let out a loud laugh.
"W-what?" She asked, taking a step back, confused with his sudden outburst.
"The hit wizards claimed that you were a dangerous witch in disguise, maybe even a death eater. One dared to say that you were an acromantula transfigured as a human being! When the ministry learns that seven fully grown hit wizards were so scared of a scrawny little girl… It will be very amusing!"
"Merlin! I myself was already thinking that Lestrange got out of Azkaban without anybody noticing!"
"N-no, it will be hilarious!"
Snape could not remember when was the last time he laughed so hard. A part of it was of actual relief that he wasn't alone with a dangerous criminal.
"But if this girl is this powerful now… after finishing her magical education, she will be a match to Albus Dumbledore- No! She could become even stronger than the dark lord himself!" This serious thought made the professor regain his impassive composure.
"So… What now?" Asked Tanya after he stopped laughing.
Tanya was chomping on a bar of chocolate, a treat of Severus Snape as an apology for any offense he may have inflicted before. Now that everything was cleared up, it was time to start discussing her future.
They were sitting on a bench located in an open park close to the school she attended. With a bright sun, this place was a contrast to the one from before, but they both agreed on having enough dark places for one day.
"Ohhh! I really missed this!"
"Now she looks like a kid her age…" Snape thought, noticing how pleased she seemed eating a piece of candy.
"Lily also-"
"…"
"Its the second time I compare the two…"
He then looked hard at Tanya eating form, she took no notice since she was so occupied with the chocolate.
"No…" Snape sighed.
"They have almost nothing in common… not even similar in appearance… And, honestly… if Lily was ever this scary, I would never get close to her in the first place."
"I will inform my findings to the ministry. You have nothing more to worry about." Snape also kept the strands of hair, should proof be demanded.
"Oh! Thank you." She said, gulping down the last piece of chocolate he gave her.
"But I must say I still find it a little disturbing the first magic you learned was the Reductor Curse."
"I-I also can do some other stuff as I already told you…"
"Yes. You can create a sticky substance to entrap people and a shield that can block even the legilimency spell!"
"This is totally unheard! The spell was not cast, it just activated like it was a field barrier… furthermore, a shield charm shouldn't be able to block a spell so ethereal as the legilimency or as powerful as the… unforgivable… curses…"
"…Could this mean that she is capable of blocking the unforgivables?!"
"Is it so bad to know a little about self-defense?"
"My point is that some may see this as an inclination towards the dark arts… At your age you are already a very powerful witch, this could create other incidents like the one from a week ago. Especially since you are a muggle-born-"
"Does it make a difference, being muggle-born?"
"Another question that 'she' also asked…"
"N-no… of course it doesn't make any difference." Snape hesitated but still told the lie.
"Oh… good."
"W-why did I lie… again?!" At the time with Lily, he changed the subject. But today he understood that someone in her situation needed to be prepared for what is to come. Not only because of the prejudice but because it was a matter of time before the dark lord makes his return. Then why did he lie?
Just maybe, Severus Snape didn't want to scare this girl away from the wizarding world. Unlike children her age, and even some older, she was very mature and behaved. He could see that she was very independent, intelligent and clever. She would, without any doubt, be the dream student of any teacher like himself that had to put up with whiny, attention-seeking and sometimes arrogant brats.
The only shame was that it was unlikely that she would go to his house…
"-professor?"
He was so entranced in his thoughts that failed to realize she was still talking to him.
"Hum? What did you say?"
"I asked… what sort of magic should I do then?"
"Oh! About that, you will not attempt any magic until you start your magical education. Is that understood?"
"What! But what if I need-"
"The ministry will start monitoring you from now on. They will not overlook a second transgression. I won't be able to help you again."
"You lived seven years without magic. You can live four more without it."
She looked at him with a thoughtful expression. Possibly considering a counter argument, but in the end nodded her head.
"Let's hope I don't forget everything until then!" She seemed to pout.
"Oh? So she can also pout like a regular child?" He was amused.
The professor looked from one side to the other and realized they were alone.
"One more magic won't hurt."
"Want to try one last magic? Since I am still here, you are allowed."
"Really? What should I do?"
Snape looked around awhile and then his eyes fell on a close flower bed.
"Those flowers…"
"Yeah?"
"Can you use magic on them?"
"Do you want me to blow them up?"
Snape turned to her, a grimace in his face.
"I am getting worried about this girl tendency towards violence!"
"As I keep saying, magic has many uses. Look at this flower. It still didn't open. Can you make it bloom?"
"Hum… I will try."
She opened her hand and frowned in concentration and after a brief moment the flower slowly opened its petals.
"I made it! This is kind of easy!"
This time she made the petals close and then open again.
Snape stared transfixed. This scene was very similar to the first time he saw Lily Evans use magic.
"W-why am I still doing this? Am I so desperate that I want to turn a completely different girl into a new Lily?!" He thought, pinching the bridge of his nose.
"Ha! Did you see that, Sev-?"
"!" The professor felt his heart skip a beat at the mention of his old nickname.
"W-what did you say?!"
"Hum?" Tanya looked at him.
"I said: 'Did you see that? Seven at the same time.'?" she explained, pointing to seven flower buds.
"O-oh! Of course…"
Snape took a deep breath to calm down his heart.
"Ugh! This is what I deserve from letting my imagination run wild… I better leave already… I already said everything needed to be said… I am not risking further embarrassment."
"But before that… there is still time to correct my earlier mistake…"
"There is one last thing I need to tell you…" he called Tanya.
"I said before that there is no difference in being muggle-born, but…"
Before they parted ways, Professor Snape promised to be in touch, sending an owl from time to time.
It was evening, almost night when Tanya returned to her room in the orphanage.
"Ahhhh… What a tiring day." she said, throwing herself at the bed.
"What the heck! What a big mess!" She though while rolling on the mattress.
"How could I guess that mages- I mean, wizards also existed in this world! And that they were so organized! I admit it was strange that no mages were around when you consider how 'easy' magic is here…"
After arriving in this world, Tanya knew since her birth that magic existed here or, at least… something very similar…
In the former world, she learned that mana had to be channeled by someone with the aptitude, then it was necessary to create a complex equation, or formula, to turn that into a specific phenomena. This is because mana in its natural state was scarce, every little bit had to be used efficiently to achieve the creation of a spell.
But in this new world, she felt that raw mana was more abundant and also denser. She speculated that, here, magic would be much more simpler to cast. For years she was eager to test her theory, but chose to wait until her mysterious employer made contact as she didn't know what sort of plan he had in mind. But when her seventh anniversary came and went, Tanya decided that it was time to explore her options.
She found a secluded place, where no one should be able to see her experiments. There, she learned that her explosive spell worked without needing a formula rifle and it was even more powerful than ever. This proved her hypothesis: The only requirement to cast a spell was the will to do so, no formulas were needed, meaning that operational orbs were unnecessary.
Unfortunately, that is as far as her research could go since she was interrupted by those wizards and now had a promise with professor Snape of not using magic until the time to attend a wizarding school.
"At least I was allowed to keep the wand." She looked at the stick in her hand, the professor wanted to take it, but in the end she managed to convince him to let her have it.
Those were the closest replacement to Computation Jewels, but their conception was radically different. From the little she knew, it was not needed to have a wand to cast magic, but it helped to achieve more potent results.
"But I wish that I had time to relearn how to fly." she talked aloud, getting up from the bed. Her thoughts were going in so many directions that she needed to say loudly. Fortunately, the imperturbable charm cast by Snape was still in place.
"This is a tactical advantage that may be needed should I have any more trouble with this 'wizarding world'."
"Professor Snape said that there was no need to worry, but… he also warned me against any new incidents… There would be no place to hide, since it seems they have more effective ways of mana- or rather magic detection."
"I am so lucky for trying mana detection at that exact time, or those 'hit wizards' would have ambushed me. At the time I was really scared since the moment I activated, seven mana signs showed and their level seemed to belong to nameds! Fortunately, their level didn't match their skill or who knows what could have happened? I doubt they would dissect me or something like that, but professor Snape proved that they could read minds! Another good thing is that I still have my passive shell or he would know everything about me by now."
"What would they do if they discovered that I traveled between three different worlds already? That I was contacted by a powerful entity like X? I am too different even by this world's standards. It is best to not risk discovery!"
"Damn! I need to learn their laws as soon as possible, to look for loopholes to protect myself like in the past…"
"Oh! And let's not forget that last talk… The… what was its name…? Oh yes… the 'pure-blood supremacy' thing. Ahhh! Last time, I was given to communists… now I need to worry about fascism! Really?! Was it too much to ask to be sent to a rational world for a change?"
"Ugh! But that is all the fault of that mysterious employer of mine! He didn't give me a single information about this world!"
"And the worst part: I AM A GIRL AGAIN! With almost exactly the same small and skinny body I had before! Hell! For some reason I even ended up with the same name!"
Tanya held her head and pulled her hair. All the accumulated tension from the last week was taking its toll. She had lived seven very boring years in a world even more similar to her original one than the last. Then, as if to make up for the long time of peace, she had seven distressful days.
"Its been seven years already! Where are you?" She asked to no one in particular, almost yanking her hair in desperation.
"Sorry about that. I was waiting for you to make an initial contact with them." 'No one' apparently answered back.
"WAAAAH!" Tanya screamed. She turned and saw a black cloaked figure with a barely visible pale face belonging to a very old man.
"W-who are you? Where did you come from?"
"Sorry! Sorry! My bad… But as I said, it was important that you were not faking surprise when making the first contact with the wizards of this world." the figure answered, a gentle tone in his voice.
"You… You are the one I talked to before my death?" Tanya was still confused, the voice didn't sound like the one from that time.
"Yes- Oh that's right. I didn't introduce myself. Forgive me, it's been so long since I last talked with a living being…" He bowed.
"My name is Ignotus Peverell."
"…" Tanya waited for him to add anything, but he just stared back as if expecting recognition.
"Is that name supposed to mean anything?" at least she asked.
"Right! You haven't heard about 'The Tale of the Three Brothers' and that professor surely didn't mention the deathly hallows." Peverell said, a thoughtful look on his face.
"Oh, well. Maybe I should have incarnated you as a Lovegood after all."
"Lovegood? The deathly… what?" He was making her even more confused.
"The deathly hallows. The reason I brought you here. I need you to find them for me."
AN: sorry for the delay, but I got really busy and this chapter proved to be more challenging than I thought it would be… And I am still not pleased how this turned… Dammit!
I realize now that this chapter was unneeded. I could just have these events mentioned in small flashbacks during future chapters… I need to watch this, because I plan to finish this fanfic in two years at most. So, I will try to be more direct in the future, I will jump events if I think that they are too similar to the original.
Furthermore this will be the last chapter for a few months. First, because I want to research both series. I plant to re-watch the Youjo senki anime series and start reading the novels (I finished what is already published of the manga recently), and re-watch the Harry Potter movies (it would take too long to read the books again). Second because I want to post chapters more regularly. So, I will only post the 'philosopher's stone' arc when I start writing the 'chamber of secrets' arc, this way reducing the time between chapters. I believe that I should restart posting chapters by the start of march.
Did you guys liked my idea about the differences in magic in the two worlds? I thought it was important to give an explanation about it since the concept of magic is very distinct in the two universes. I will give an additional explanation about the need of chants and wand movements during the first year. Oh, and any suggestion is welcomed.
Tanya's web throwing spell is an indirectly homage to the series "So I'm a Spider, So What?". Another isekai series that has Yūki Aoi voicing the main character. I wanted a new spell in the story to illustrate how easily magic is in the world of Harry Potter if you measure it with the magic of the Youjo senki world.
I know absolutely nothing about Hastings. I don't know if there are any orphanages or old factories there or even churches. If there is not, then lets pretend that there is. The reason I chose that place is because I wanted some place in England as close as possible to Germany to explain Tanya background. Still… there are regions more to the east that are closer. Maybe Dover would have been better…
Here the answers to the reviews:
To guests: Thank you, hope that you are still reading.
To Citanon: Thank you. I am really trying my best.
To Ocansino: Thank you. I looked for the story you recommended, but its not finished, so I may return later when its completed.
To Mark the Mark: For what I could understand, noncon means 'no consent' as in forced sex or rape right? To tell the truth, I was going to develop a situation were Tanya was raped by Lorya, but… I changed my mind. I like the character to much to let her suffer something like that. So, nothing happened, don't worry. Still, Tanya will held the believe that she was molested or even raped and it will take a few 'years' to clear this.
To KureijiRyuu: Sorry that this story don't please you. But just to make this clear: Tanya will marry Harry, but she won't fall in love with him. This is not a romance story. As I developed to this point, Tanya has an agreement to find the deathly hallows and then return to her true life as the salaryman. But, as we see in the youjo senki series, things never go her way, not only she will lose her chance to go back, but will find herself in a marriage that she can't say 'no' for motives that I have yet to reveal.
