David and Emma helped Ashley to Emma's car and put her in the passenger side while Emma sat in the back. James said he would stay behind and wait for the tow truck to come for David's truck and his car. David wanted to know what James was doing there but know was not the time. Ashley was about to give birth and he had to get her to the hospital. David started driving toward the hospital going as fast as he could without breaking any laws. Ashley moaned in pain. "Is the baby really coming" Emma asked. "Yea. Don't worry we'll get you to the hospital as fast as we can" David said to Ashley. "No! No, no, no! Take me to Boston. I can't go back there" Ashley said. "Boston is a four hour drive. We don't have that kind of time" David said. "I can't go back there, please. He's gonna take my baby" Ashley cried. David shook his head. "I won't let that happen but do you know what you're asking for if you keep this child? Are you really ready" David asked.
"Yea" Ashley answered. "Are you sure because I have seen many girls your age have children and keep them when they weren't ready. If you want to give this kid it's best chance, it's gonna be with someone who is ready, so know what that means. Your whole life is gonna change and once you decide that it's yours, this running away can't happen. You have to grow up, and you can't ever leave. If you really think you are ready I will fight for you and your baby but that's your decision" David said. Ashley thought for a moment. "I want my baby" Ashley finally said. "OK then your keeping your baby. I'll make sure of it" David said. They arrived at the hospital and David and Emma helped Ashley out of the car. "Help this woman is having a baby" David told one of the nurses. The nurse took Ashley to the back. "Now what" Emma asked. "Now we just wait" David said sitting down in one of the chairs in the waiting room. Emma sat next to him as they patiently waited for any news.
In the enchanted forest James was waiting for Ella. Where was that stupid girl? James heard a rustling in the bushes behind him and turned around and saw Charming standing there. James rolled his eyes. "Are you lost? Do I have to point you in the right direction? Your castle is the other way. Get out of here David. I have business to attend to" James said. "Ella's not coming. She told me everything and I've come here to tell you your going to leave her alone. Your not getting the jewel of Amara" Charming said. James laughed. "Who's going to stop me? You" James asked. Charming pulled out his sword. "This is your one chance. You can't hurt me. Mom and dad made sure of it" he said. James nodded his head. "Your right. I can't defeat you mom and dad's spell is too powerful. I surrender" James said lifting his hands up in surrender. Charming looked at James confused. Why was he surrendering? He'd never willingly surrender. Maybe this was going to be easier than he thought.
"Now leave and don't" Charming started to say but James waved his hand and Charming's sword flew out his hand and into James's. James smiled. "It looks like I have the upper hand now" James said pointing Charming's sword at him. Charming rolled his eyes. "I don't want to hurt you James. Give me back my sword" Charming said. James thought for a moment. "No" he said and he waved his hand and Charming flew back hitting a tree hard. James started to walk over to Charming. Charming looked at him stunned. How did James do that? He was supposed to be protected from James. James pointed Charming's sword at him again. "What was that you were saying about me not being able to hurt you" James asked. "How" Charming asked still in a state of shook. "I found a way to break mom and dad's spell. I put it in the wine at the ball that you drank. Now you are completely vulnerable" James said stabbing Charming in the shoulder. Charming yelled out in pain.
Charming pulled the sword out of his shoulder and stood up. His wound instantly healed. "Leave David before you get seriously hurt" James said. Charming pointed his sword at James and shook his head. "Not a chance" Charming said. James shook his head. "You leave me no choice then" James said. His eyes turned yellow and he transformed into a dragon. Charming did the same thing. James flew high up into the air with Charming following. James blew fire at Charming at the same time Charming blew fire at him. They stopped blowing fire at each other and charged at each other fighting high up in the sky. They both got good hits in at each other until James got the upper hand. He cut Charming in his leg and then stabbed him in the stomach with his dragon nail. Charming fell to the earth hard and transformed back into his human self, holding his stomach barely conscious. James landed a few feet away and transformed back into his human self too. He looked down at his brother and shook his head.
"It didn't have to be this way David but you had to play the hero" James said putting on gloves. Charming got up his injuries having healed but James waved his hand and Charming flew to a tree and vines wrapped around him. He tried to escape but James's magic was hard to escape. James walked over to him and Charming got ready to blow fire at him but James grabbed Charming's cheeks and squeezed them together. The fire didn't come out of Charming's mouth but instead stayed in Charming's mouth burning his mouth. The fire disappeared and James let go of his mouth. Charming was in a lot of pain. "Leave…Ella…alone" Charming said struggling to get the words out. James shook his head. "Why do you do this to yourself David? I'm stronger and better at magic than you" James said. "I know what that jewel does. I'm not going to let you get your hands on it" Charming said feeling better. James laughed. "You can't stop me" he said as he pulled out a dragon blade.
"What are you doing James" Charming asked looking at the dragon blade worriedly. James shrugged his shoulders. "You've been to much of a nuisance to me. It's time I took care of you once and fall all" he said. Charming struggled against the vines and tried to use his magic to free himself but nothing would work. "James please don't" Charming begged. "Goodbye David" James said as he raised the dagger. "Stop" someone yelled from behind them. James turned and smiled. Ella was standing there with a box. "I will give you the jewel if you promise to let David go" she said. "No Ella don't. Don't trust" Charming started to yell but James waved his hand and a vine covered Charming's mouth gagging him. "That's better" James said. "Do we have a deal" Ella asked. James looked at her studying her face. "Your just going to give me the jewel for my pathetic brother" James said. "My baby's life also. You promised you could keep my baby safe from Rumplestiltskin" she said.
"Let me see it first" James said. Ella nodded and opened the box. James smiled. There it was the jewel of Amara. Now all she had to do was give it to him. Ella took the jewel out of the box and held out her hand. James put the dragon blade away and reached for it but she pulled back her hand. "When I give you this you let David go" she said. James nodded. "Yes of course my annoying brother goes free once I get the jewel and I give you the protection for your baby. Deal" James said. Ella smiled and put her hand back out. James took the jewel and was instantly overwhelmed with pain. He yelled out in pain and fell to his knees. The vines around Charming fell from his body. James yelled out in pain and fell to the floor on his back. Charming walked over to Ella. "Stop it. Stop it please I'll do anything" James begged on the floor. "Leave Ella alone and stop trying to get the jewel" Charming said. James yelled out in pain. Charming hated seeing James in pain like this and knowing he was the one who caused it but he had to stop him from going after Ella.
"Fine OK whatever" James cried on the floor. "Also you don't come after me and Thomas after this is all over" Ella said. "Yes whatever just make it stop please" James begged. Charming looked at Ella and nodded his head. Ella grabbed the jewel and put it back in the box she closed the box. The pain finally stopped. James let out a sigh of relief. He tried to stand up but he couldn't. He could only get onto his knees. Charming went to help him up but James held out his hand. He looked up at Charming hatred in his eyes. "Dad was wrong when he said you were weak and couldn't do anything right David. They say I'm the villain but tonight you turned into dad. Just like that night" James said glaring daggers at Charming. Charming felt like crap. "James I'm" Charming started but James cut him off. "Save it. I don't care about your sorry's. Just know this David I will take pleasure in destroying everything you hold dear. You might have saved Ella but your family you love so much, Snow, your soon to be born child you will lose them and I will revel in your sorrow" James said. He waved his hand and he disappeared leaving David and Ella standing there. Ella looked over at Charming who was deep in thought. He was going to fight against anything James threw at him and Snow. He would protect Snow and their child no matter what. "I'm sorry David" Ella said bringing Charming out of his thoughts. "We stopped my brother, now let's stop Rumplestiltskin" Charming said. Ella nodded.
Back in Storybrooke David and Emma were waiting for the nurses to come and give them news about how Ashley and her baby were doing. "Dad do you think we would have been able to take Ashley to Boston" Emma asked. "What's that" David asked. "If we listened to Ashley do you think we could have taken her out of town since we can leave if we want" Emma asked again. David shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know but if I know your uncle like I think I do probably not" he said. David looked at Emma. "Why are you asking" he asked. "I was just thinking if it comes down to it and I fall at breaking the curse maybe we could take mom and leave town with her" Emma said. David shook his head. "Your not going to fail at breaking the curse" David said. "How can you be so sure? We don't even know what I have to do to break the curse" Emma said. "We'll figure it out" David said. "Uncle James and Aunt Regina are not just going to let me break the curse" Emma said.
"I don't care what James and Regina do your going to break this curse and our family will be reunited" David said. Emma shook her head. "I'm just not sure" she said. "I am. Your my daughter and we always find each other. You me and your mom. Your also Emma Nolan and the Emma Nolan I know will never give up until our family is reunited. We're also good and remember" David started but Emma interrupted him. "Good always wins" she finished for him. David smiled and pulled Emma into a hug. "I have never doubted that we would find your mother and you'd break this curse. Your going to save our family Emma" David said kissing the top of her head. Emma didn't know how he did it but her dad always found someway to make her feel better about herself even when he wasn't feeling good about himself. Even though he missed Snow, his mother and all his friends David always made sure Emma was happy. "I love you dad" Emma said. "I love you too princess" David said.
"Mr. Nolan, the baby is a healthy six-pound girl" a nurse said walking up to David and Emma. David let go of Emma and stood up. "The mother is doing just fine" the nurse said. "Thank you" David said. "What lovely news" Mr. Gold said behind David. David turned around and looked at him. "Excellent work, Mr. Nolan" Mr. Gold said as he walked up to David. "Thank you for bringing me my merchandise" he said. David turned to Emma. "Emma me and Mr. Gold need to have a little chat. Do you mind giving us a couple minutes alone" he asked. "OK I'll just go check on Ashley" Emma said getting up and walking away. Once Emma left David turned to Mr. Gold. "You lied to me" he said. Mr. Gold shook his head. "No I didn't Mr. Nolan. I told you Miss Boyd took my property from me. That baby is mine" he said. "She wants to keep the baby" David said. "Well she should have thought about that before she made the deal" Mr. Gold said walking up to David so their faces were inches away from each other. "We're not going to have a problem now are we Mr. Nolan" Mr. Gold asked. David just glared at him.
In the enchanted forest Ella was waiting for Rumplestiltskin to arrive. The sooner she got this over with the better it would be for everyone. "Well, well, well. You're starting to show" Rumplestiltskin said. Ella turned and saw him standing across the garden she was in. She slowly walked over to him. "A little bird told me you wanted to speak" he said. "Yes" Ella said taking off her hood. "I'd like to alter the bargain" Ella said. "That's not what I do" he said. "I think you'll want to. I'm having twins" Ella said looking down at her stomach. He threw his flask away and started walking over to her. "Is that so" he asked continuing to walk over to her. "Ooh! Let's have a look" he said touching her stomach. He grunted happily. "You would, what? Give up both" he asked Ella. Ella nodded her head. "Why is that, I wonder" He asked. "My husband, he's having a hard time. Our kingdom is poor. We're losing money. Our crops are dying" Ella said walking away from him. "We can't support ourselves or our people" she said.
"You would trade your other child for comfort" Rumplestiltskin asked turning around to look at her. "I can always have more children but I can't make crops grow where the soil is dead" Ella said. He continued to look at her. These people were playing right into his hands. "In exchange for our other child, you will see to it that our land is once again fertile" Ella said walking up to him taking out a contract and showing it to him. "I think it's more than fair" she said. "Yes" He bursted out quickly making Ella jump back a little. "Yes, yes. It is" he said walking up to her. "If what you're saying is true" He said checking out the contract. "It is and all you have to do is sign on the dotted line" Ella said pulling out a quill. He looked up at the quill. He knew that quill had been enchanted. "What a lovely quill" he said taking it from Ella. He examined it. "Wherever did you get it from" he asked. "It's from our castle" Ella lied. He walked closer to Ella.
"You know, the only way to stop me is through magic" Rumplestiltskin said. Ella let out a little laugh. "I'm not trying to stop you" Ella lied. "Of course you're not because as we all know, all magic comes with a price and if you were to use it to, say, imprison me, then your debt to me would only grow and we wouldn't want that, now would we" he said putting the quill under her chin. Ella moved her face away from him. "Just sign the contract, please" she said. "Are you sure you're happy with this new arrangement" he asked. Ella didn't say anything but held up the contract. Rumplestiltskin looked at it and laughed. He took the contract from her. "Then so shall it be" he said signing the contract. After he was done he froze the contract falling from his hands. "Thomas" Ella called out behind her. "No one breaks deals with me, dearie" Rumplestiltskin said. Their men arrive on horses and surround Ella and Rumplestiltskin.
"No matter where you are, no matter what land you find yourself in, I assure you, I will have your baby" Rumplestiltskin said. A dragon landed in front of Rumplestiltskin. It transformed into Charming. "Not in this life" Charming said placing shackles on Rumplestiltskin's hands. Rumplestiltskin laughed. "Prince Charming how great to see you on this beautiful night" he said. Charming smiled at him. "Yea it's great to know you can't hurt anyone ever again" Charming said. Grumpy walked over and helped Charming bring Rumplestiltskin to the wagon. Grumpy closed the door and Charming worked on magically locking the wagon while Thomas ran up to Ella. "Did we really win" she asked. "Yes, I told you we would" Thomas said. Ella looked at the wagon that held the dark one. "I was so afraid. I was so afraid that we'd fail, that I'd have to go back to that life. That terrible life. I was afraid that I'll lose you, and that nothing would've changed" Ella said caressing Thomas's face.
"As long as I'm alive, you will never go back to that life" Thomas said. They kissed each other passionately. "Now, how is our little Alexandra" Thomas asked. "Alexandra" Ella asked. "Did I not mention that I picked out a name" Thomas asked. "A name? That's more like a prison sentence" Ella said. "Well, I like it" Thomas said smiling at her. "Men, you really know nothing of" Ella started to say but stopped when she felt a sharp pain in her stomach. She clutched at her stomach. "Ella, what is it" Thomas asked. "It's the baby. Something's wrong" Ella said looking at the wagon. "No, no, it can't be. It's too soon. It must be the stress, the excitement" Thomas said also looking at the wagon. "I'm dizzy" Ella said almost falling down but Thomas held her. "Sit, sit" Thomas said bringing her over to a bench. She sat down breathing heavily. "I'll go get you water" Thomas said. "OK" Ella said nodding her head. Thomas ran to a well to get Ella some water while she sat there breathing heavily.
Thomas ran into the forest until he reached the well. He started to pull the bucket up when he heard leaves rustling. He looked around startled. The leaves were moving but he didn't see anyone or anything around. Back in the garden Ella gasped. She felt better. "Thomas! It's OK. It's passed" she said rubbing her stomach. Thomas didn't answer her. "Thomas" she called out again. Once again he didn't answer. Now she was starting to get worried. She got up and walked the same path he did into the forest. She came up to the well and found that he wasn't there. "Thomas" Ella said running over to the well. She reached the well and found his sash there. She picked it up and started looking around worried. She looked all over for him even inside the well. He was gone. "Thomas" she called out. Back at the wagon Charming had just finished magically locking the front and the left side of the wagon. Now all that was left was the right side and the back of the wagon. He didn't want to take any chances with the dark one. He was starting to enchant the right side of the wagon when Rumplestiltskin laughed.
"You know you just made a big mistake" Rumplestiltskin said from inside the wagon. Charming let out a little laugh. "Really because last time I checked I'm not the one locked up" he said. Now Rumplestiltskin laughed. "Not yet. You have no idea what's coming. Your family is going to be destroyed and there is nothing you can do about it unless you let me out" he said. Charming laughed. "You really are delusional. There's no way I am letting you out" he said. Charming went back to enchanting the wagon. "Your dreams are right dearie. You are going to fail at saving them" Rumplestiltskin said. Charming stopped enchanting the wagon and looked up at Rumplestiltskin. "How do you know about my dreams" he asked. "You haven't even told your lovely Snow about your fears and concerns now have you? Well your right to be worried" Rumplestiltskin said. "Why should I trust you" Charming asked. Rumplestiltskin smiled.
"I know what's coming dearie" Rumplestiltskin said. "What is coming? How do we stop it" Charming asked. Rumplestiltskin smiled an evil smile. "You don't" he said. He surprised Charming by grabbing his face threw the bars. Then he used his nail to cut Charming down the side of the face Charming pulled himself away from Rumplestiltskin. He had only enchanted the front of the wagon and didn't think about enchanting the sides. Charming pulled out his sword and pointed it at Rumplestiltskin. "What the hell did you just do to me" Charming asked. Rumplestiltskin smiled as the cut on Charming's face healed. Rumplestiltskin just shrugged his shoulders and laughed. Charming was annoyed with his imp. Before he could ask what he did to him again Ella came marching up to the wagon. "What did you do" she asked Rumplestiltskin and he just smiled. Charming turned around and looked at Ella. "Ella, what's wrong" he asked.
"Your highness, what happened" Grumpy asked. "What did you do to my Thomas" Ella asked walking up to the side of the wagon. Charming stopped her. "If you want to talk to him go to the front of the wagon" he said. Ella did as she was told and walked to the front of the wagon. "I haven't done anything. In case you haven't noticed, I've been otherwise engaged" Rumplestiltskin said. "Something's happened to him. You know. Tell me" Ella said. "I have no idea, dearie but I did warn you. All magic comes at a price. Looks like someone has just paid" Rumplestiltskin said. "Don't listen to him. We'll find Thomas" Charming said pulling Ella away from the cart while she just stared at the dark one. "No, you won't. Until that debt is paid, until that baby is mine, You're never gonna see him again" Rumplestiltskin said. Charming continued to pull Ella away from the wagon while Ella just stared at the crazed man. "In this world or the next, Cinderella, I will have that baby. Neither one of you will ever be safe from me" Rumplestiltskin shouted.
Rumplestiltskin smiled as he watched Charming walk Ella away from the wagon. He pulled out a flask and poured the blood from his nail into the flask. It started glowing red. He smiled. He now had something he prized for a very long time. Dragons blood and not just any dragons blood the blood of the dragon who would create the savior. He took the flask and put it away. The prince had no idea how much of a help he had been or what was coming his way now that Rumplestiltskin had his blood.
