Majo Kon-ki The Marriage of Tanya the Witch

(The marriage chronicles of a witch)

Arc 1 - Philosopher's Stone – part 1

July 30, AD1991, just outsidea gloomy-looking hotel on the outskirts of a big city

"What is going on?" Harry Potter wondered, not for the first time in the last few days.

It all started when a letter arrived with his name. For some reason, his relatives wouldn't let him have it, instead they destroyed it before he could even see what this was about. But before Harry could be depressed about this, new letters keep arriving at his uncle's home.

This eventually made Vernon lose his temper and decide to literally escape from the arriving letters and the owls that seemed to be bringing them. That is how they arrived at this hotel in god-knows-where.

And yet, one letter still made its way to Harry's location, and that's when Vernon Dursley made up his mind to resume running.

Harry was on the way outside the hotel when his uncle, aunt and cousin just stopped in their tracks. He was about to ask what was going on when he looked up and saw her…

A little girl with messy golden hair, fierce blue eyes wearing oversized green pants, a white shirt and boots, her way of dressing resembling a soldier in his off duty days.

Her clothes made Harry remember his own hand-me-downs, but even in such attire, he had to admit that she was very cute.

"Wait! Is she flying?!" It took a moment longer for Harry to note this strange fact. She seemed to be floating in the air and slowly descending.

When she touched the ground, the girl looked at them and Harry realized just how small she was.

"Which one of you is Harry Potter?" she asked in a very soft and childlike voice, looking at him and his cousin.

Before he could give an answer, three fingers were pointed at him.

"What is going on here?" First those owls keep bringing letters that his uncle didn't let him read, then they started running away from god-knows-who to god-knows-where and then a girl came flying down-

"Ah!" It was then that a thought hit him.

"C-could It be… That I am dead…?! That's it…! I must have starved to death trapped in that cupboard during my last punishment… That's when those strange things started tohappen. And now… God sent an angel to take me to heaven…"

Harry sighed. It was unfair that he ended this way, but at least now, no one would mistreat him-

"WHY ARE YOU RUNNING?!" The 'angel' screamed at him and at the same time, pulled the collar of his shirt so they eyes met.

Then she started to shake him.

"WE JUST WANT TO HELP YOU BUY YOUR THINGS FOR SCHOOL! LISTEN, I HAVE SOME URGENT ERRANDS AFTER THIS!" She said, still shaking him.

"W-w-wait…! W-what s-school a-are y-you ta-talking a-about?" Harry barely managed to say.

"Eh?" This made her let go of him.

Harry was so dizzy that he fell down on the ground.

"You mean you don't know about Hogwarts?"

"What is Hogwarts?"

"You… really don't know? But you know about being a wizard right?"

Before Harry could answer, Vernon cut in.

"You are one of them!"

"?" The girl stared puzzled at him.

"You are the one that keeps sending this junk?" He asked, showing one of the many letters that tried to reach Harry.

"Is that… his Hogwarts letter? You are trying to run away from the owls…? To prevent him from going to Hogwarts…?"

The girl let out a sigh.

"Hagrid said that this might be the case. I thought that this boy was just scared… Oh well…"

She then turned to look at Harry.

"Harry Potter…"

Harry looked back at her.

"… I really have no time to explain, but come with me, Hagrid will explain everything…"

She then offered her hand.

"… come."

Harry was very confused, but he believed that this girl would give him answers. Answers that his relatives seemed to be hiding from him. He was almost taking her hand when his uncle interfered.

"YOU ARE NOT TAKING HIM ANYWHERE!" Vernon shouted, grabbing her by the shoulder.

For a second, she let out a frightened look, but that immediately morphed in the scariest glare he ever saw.

"Who do you think you are touching?!" She said in such a cold and yet, soft voice that it sent a shiver down Harry's back.

And before anyone could understand what was happening, Vernon Dursley was on the ground, immobilized as she twisted his arm.

"Now, I am taking your nephew to buy his supplies for school. Okay?" She said, like explaining something to a five year old.

"I ALREADY SAID NO!" He answered, struggling to break free of her surprising strong grip.

"Alright. Have it your way…" She said and a sadistic grin appeared on her face.

A loud crack echoed and Vernon Dursley was left holding his arm in pain as his wife and son tried to help him.

The girl just grabbed Harry by his arm and dragged him away.

Harry was actually a little frightened from the episode. If before he thought that she was an angel, now he was considering that she was a devil.

"W-where are you taking me? T-to hell?!" He asked while being pulled by her.

"Hell? What are you talking about?" she seemed to really be in a hurry and asked without turning back.

"I am not dead?"

"Dead? Why would you be dead?"

This made her stop and look at him.

"W-well… strange things keep happening in the last few days…"

She looked harder at him.

"Did you feel like time stopped and a bunch of people, completing each other's sentences, all claiming to be god, spoke to you?"

"What? No!"

"Then, did you dream about a talking animal like a pigeon or a speaking inanimate object like a nutcracker saying how your lack of faith was very disappointing?"

"Is she mocking me?" He just shook his head.

"Then you are not dead… Let's keep-"

She said as a matter of fact, but he wasn't convinced yet.

"But, but-"

"Ah! Alright."

At that moment she pinched his check very hard and he was again reminded by how surprisingly strong she was.

"O-O-OUCHHHHH!"

"Did it hurt?"

"Of course it hurts!" Harry answered, holding his check.

"This is your answer. You are alive. Happy now?"

"B-but you were flying-"

"Listen! I am really in a hurry."

She then grabbed his hand and dragged him again.

"As I said before, we are meeting a friend that will answer all of your questions."

"O-okay." It didn't look like he had any choice anyway.

"And, sorry about your uncle, but he was being unreasonable. I wish I had time to talk but…"

"Well. Knowing him, he probably wouldn't listen anyway."

"Just to make sure that I am not going to hurt you. Now that I look back, that may have been a little frightening."

"Actually, for a moment, I was kind of happy that God had send such a pretty angel to take me-"

"There is no such thing as 'god'!" The girl sounded very offended by the idea.

"W-well… S-sorry about that… errr…"

"Tanya. I am Tanya Degurechaff. Sorry for the late introduction."

"Nice to meet you I am Harry-"

"Harry Potter. I know. Actually lots of people know."

Harry didn't understand what she meant. He could only hope that this 'friend' would really answer his questions.

"Are handssupposed to be so warm?"

Suddenly he found himself aware that he was walking hand-in-hand with her.

Now that he thought about it, he didn't remember when and if he ever held another hand before. In truth, human contact was basically alien to him.

"This is kind of nice…"

In an instant, he forgot any uneasiness he had about these events and for the time being, just enjoyed the feeling of her small and soft hand, an unknown and yet warm feeling spreading from his hand through his body.

"Oh! There is Hagrid."

Before them, halted a motorcycle with a sidecar and riding it, was the biggest man Harry Potter ever saw in his life.

Tanya let go of his hand and he was already missing her warm touch.

"Lass! What were yeh thinkin' flyin' aroun' like that?!" The big man, Hagrid, shouted the instant he turned off the engine. But more than angry, he seemed worried about her.

"Already told you. We are late, and you were driving too slow. Harry Potter's relatives were already going to take him to some other place."

"Harry?" It was then that Hagrid took notice of him.

He got off the motorcycle and pulled him in a big bear hug.

"Las' time I saw you, you was only a baby!" Harry understood that despite his appearance this 'giant' was a nice person.

"Yeh look a lot like yer dad, but yeh've got yer mum's eyes."

"Y-you knew my parents?"

"You two can catch up on the way. Let's go!"

It was almost four years since Tanya learned why she was brought to this world.

Ignotus Peverell, the spirit of a wizard dead for almost seven hundred years, and now, claiming to work for 'Death', brought her to recover and destroy the holy relics known as the deathly hallows. Three objects that by themselves posed no significant threat, but should someone reunite them, this person might claim power enough to become the 'master of death'.

At first, she suggested finding and destroying just one, as the 'master of death' would need all three relics. But unfortunately, as the three hallows were created together, only together they could be destroyed and even then, it would take considerable effort to accomplish it.

Thus, the plan was for Tanya to reunite them and she herself became the 'master of death' just for enough time to vanquish the relics out of existence. Peverell chose Tanya because of her unique history with holy relics… Not only she fought against the influence of the Elenium Type 95 Operation Orb but even managed to destroy it prior to her death in the other world.

Their encounter was a brief one, and the only instructions he left were some precautions needed to take with each hallow and that she should go to Hogwarts. He never said if she would find the relics there or any clues… He just demanded that she'd go to Hogwarts.

"Those hallows have been around for seven centuries… Are they even in Britain-?"

"You were saying about my parents?"

Tanya had her musings interrupted by Harry Potter's question.

"Are we not there yet…?" Tanya thought feeling annoyed.

Unfortunately, Hagrid's motorbike had just one sidecar, Tanya and Harry could fit together because they were children but this means that they needed to be very close to each other… Too close for her comfort.

"… yer mum an' dad were as good a witch an' wizard as I ever knew. Head Boy an' Girl at Hogwarts in their day…!"

She listened as Hagrid updated Harry of his heritage, his parents and the world he belonged. It would take some time since his relatives keep him in the dark for his whole life, but Hagrid seemed to be doing a fine job.

Of course, Tanya already knew about these topics for years. Thanks to professor Snape guidance, she was very well informed with both past and recent events of the magical world.

"But… Is this truly Harry Potter…? The one fated to defeat the dark lord Voldemort…?"

Peverell made another request on that day. Tanya's presence in this world was an anomaly, she should not be here, there was no way to know what sort of change she would induce in this timeline. Plus, she arrived at a crucial moment in this world history. Soon, a war will break out and the fates ruled that the destiny of this world will be decided by the survivor of a conflict between two wizards, one known as Voldemort and the other as Harry Potter.

For what the agent of death told her, his 'boss' was indifferent which side wins as long as his hallows are dealt with. But Ignotus Peverell was originally a human from these lands and he wanted his descendants to live in a peaceful world, therefore, he asked her to watch over Harry Potter as a secondary objective.

Tanya, meanwhile, could care less what happened with this world. It could look heartless on her part, but this was not her responsibility and she was leaving once her mission was completed… Or so she thought. That was when a big bomb was dropped on her.

Her first impression was that she traveled to a third world, a world very similar to the one she originated from. But the truth was that this is actually her home world, just a few years in the past. Meaning that somewhere in the east, her younger self was going to a Japanese school and on the path to become the salaryman that she once was. Thus, should Voldemort ever win, he will eventually reach the muggles of the rest of the world, including Japan. It was meaningless for Tanya to go home only for the salaryman's life to be ruined by an English dark wizard. In other words, it became imperative to assure that Harry Potter will be strong enough to win the war when the time comes.

But now that Tanya met the 'boy-who-lived', she had concerns. This was a regular boy, maybe even too ordinary! He knew nothing about his heritage, had no allies and even his relatives didn't seem to care about him. He seemed like a lost little boy that didn't know just how scary the world truly was!

She could only hope that his seven years at Hogwarts would make him strong and powerful enough… And that his final fight against Voldemort only happens in several years from now.

"… and that's why dragons are such misunderstood creatures Harry."

"Huh? When the conversation shifted to dragons?" Hagrid's words brought Tanya out from her wondering.

"Errr… I see… By the way, where are we going?" Harry asked, both Tanya and Hagrid forgot to inform him.

"To meet Xenophilius Lovegood, editor of The Quibbler magazine." Tanya answered, a bit of excitement in her voice.

Originally, professor Severus Snape was going to be the one escorting her today. But he had an unexpected compromise and Hagrid, who was meant to take Harry to Diagon Alley, was tasked to also meet up with her. This was supposed to happen earlier the day, but Harry's relatives forced them in a wide chase across the country, so now their time was short.

Tanya wanted to see Xenophilius Lovegood for two reasons: First, he was a 'quester' of the deathly hallows, a researcher. Many of his articles over the years mentions the relics. Tanya had a strong conviction that he was bound to have valuable information.

The second reason was a little more personal.

He was her 'backup' father.

During seven years Tanya wondered why she got a body so similar, if not exactly equal, to the one she had in her previous life. Peverell explained that only someone like being X could incarnate a person and keep his or her memories intact. An agent of death could only do something like this by 'cheating'. Basically, you 'trick' the soul in believing that it still is in its former body. So, in order for Peverell to reincarnate Tanya, he needed a set of parents that could produce a body that matched her last one. He found only two couples living close to Britain that could make this happen.

Her 'parents' were a pair of kids that got drunk on a particular wild night, both had a strong destiny to die less than a year after that. Peverell manipulated the events so that her 'mother' became pregnant. Not too long after that, the boy died in a traffic accident and, originally, the girl should also have died that day, but 'fate' was slightly changed to give her a little more time to give birth to Tanya.

And in a side note, the name Tanya Degurechaff was another of Peverell's little tricks, he just made the nun at her birth believe that her mother had whispered the name before dying. The agent of death said that she would have hated the names the sisters of the orphanage would have chosen for her… And after learning how much the nuns favored the name 'Mary', she was quite grateful.

The second couple, the Lovegoods, were not chosen as her parents, but still could be used as 'backups'. Should Tanya die at some moment during her search, the Lovegood couple would have themselves a 'night of passion', and by next morning find that they have a baby girl in the way…

"Not that I expect to die any time soon but it's good to have some 'insurance'."

"Ah! There we are…" Hagrid announced their arrival.

"Finally! How many years I have waited to-"

Tanya was pulled out of her musings by the sound of a blast.

"W-what was that?" Harry asked, a little frightened.

"I reckon it came from the house!" Hagrid replied, already taking his wand/umbrella.

"MUM!"

This time a scream came and they forgot any manners and just barged inside.

There they found the sign of a little girl crying over who they believed was her mother.

"What happened here?" Tanya also took her wand and was looking from side to side in search of a possible aggressor.

"P-please h-help! M-my mum was d-doing some m-magic and it just came w-wrong!" The girl was saying between sobs.

"It backfired?" Tanya asked, the girl just nodded her head.

Tanya came closer and looked at the woman.

"!" she paled, the woman's features were very similar to her own, even the same blond hair.

"O-of course, this is the Lovegood residence. Meaning this woman is -or maybe was- my 'backup' mother… Fuck!"

"Hagrid! See if you can find any floo powder and call for help!"

"O-oh! R-right, right!" Hagrid recovered from his stupor and ran towards the fireplace.

"Harry, help me with this girl- Harry?" Tanya looked and saw Harry Potter trembling and covering his ears, a haunted look in his face.

"Shit! HARRY LISTEN TO ME!"

The boy finally looked at her even if he seemed very shaken.

"Take this girl, I need space to work!"

"O-okay!" Harry approached the girl and gently took her. They both shared the same distressed look.

Tanya began to examine the woman with the few abilities she had since her knowledge in medicine came from the basic training she had during her academy days in the other world.

"This is not good! She has no pulse, I think the spell, whatever it was, only stopped her heart since I see no wounds."

"I need to do something! If this woman dies, there goes my 'insurance'!"

Tanya immediately positioned the woman and started to perform CPR.

But after a few minutes, there was no change.

"It is not working! I can't waste more time! Just a second can be the difference between life and death! Where are you Hagrid?!"

"At this rate I will tire before any help arrives! If her heart stopped, maybe a shock could restart it?"

Tanya looked around the room, searching for an electrical object. It was then that she remembered that in this world, magic and electronics didn't go well so no witch kept such items in their homes.

"Probably because of the high density of raw mana, it had- THIS IS NOT TIME TO BE THINKING ABOUT THIS!"

"Wait! Maybe it is time to think about it." She pondered, already forming a plan.

A quick search and Tanya found Mrs Lovegood wand, took her own and positioned both like a defibrillator.

"Hope this works. Now, I need the right voltage or I may end up opening a hole in her chest!"

She kept staring at both wands but nothing came out of it.

"Huh? Why is it not working? Shit! This is why I should have kept practicing. Now It seems I am rusty!"

"Come on! Think! How was it last time? I was blowing things, then those soldiers- I mean, hit wizards came-"

"That's it! I need to think that I want to attack this person!"

Her idea worked, as sparks of electricity came from both wands, she pressed them at the same time, the body made a spasm for a moment but then went rigid again.

"Again, this time with more power!"

This time she used more energy and made contact longer. She was going to try again when the woman took a big breath and shot her eyes open.

"It worked?"

AN: Here is the first chapter of eight of the first arc, philosopher's stone. I believe that the next arcs will have about the same size.

This one was most to show how Tanya and Harry first met and to explain a little of her situation. Yes, Tanya is back to her home world, so at least half her wish in fulfilled. Unnecessary to say that she can't interact with her younger male self because of the danger of creating a paradox.

Sorry about Hagrid, but I just can't spend time trying to give him the proper accent. Don't know what I will do when Fleur appears in the story…

Also, I am ware that Luna's mother should be dead at least months ago. But I will explain how she was still alive… eventually.

Also, I have some ideas, but would like to hear what people thought would be cool about these:

What sort of materials Tanya's wand should be? She has one that she took from a hit wizard, but in her second year she will have one from Olivander's. So what wood, core and size both should have?

When do you believe should be her new birthday?

And what about a patronus? Of what animal would it take form? Also, what patronus a Harry Potter in love with her should have?

And is there any spell that you people want to see?

Here the answers to the reviews:

To holosagewolf32: Thank you. Sex will happen, but I will not write smut, first because I am not confident in making one, second because of fanfiction dot net rules. Tanya will not get a familiar, I don't plan in making her own any animal, not even an owl.

To Kitsune Obsessed Freak first comment: Thank you for pointing the grammar error, it's just that I work alone in this fanfic, so it's inevitable that some mistakes will pass. For that I am really sorry.

To Kitsune Obsessed Freak second comment: I will admit that this review almost made me give up in writing. It's very hard to read someone call trash the story you have been spending all your free time… I must remember that this is not my job, I am not receiving money to do this, I don't need to do this at all. My intention with this story is to have fun and entertain. If you don't like this story, then I challenge you to write something better (and believe me… it's harder than it looks…).

To Kitsune Obsessed Freak third comment: Calling yourself and asshole will not redeem you.

To AmortePerpetuaLiberaNos: Thank you. I plan to use Snape a lot, he is my favorite character in Harry Potter and I am really looking forward to develop his relationship with Harry as a 'father-in-law'.

To KureijiRyuu: Thank you very much. You probably the one that made me keep writing. I really wish that I could make a story that you liked.

To Kornerkun: Thank you. Most fanfics develop a romance between Tanya and Visha, so I wanted something different.

To Dazerial: Thank you. Hope that you like how this chapter turned.

To wanderingwitchelaine: Thank for your comment.

To CANDY: Thank you. Yes, in my opinion, the best part in youjo senki is that Tanya seems to always end far from her objectives. Oh! And sorry… But she will not be a committed and good wife. In truth, she will start to plan for a divorce… But we all now how her plans end right?

To wolf girl811: Thank you. Being X will be absent in this story for a long time… But will appear eventually. I was going to explain the outcome of the second prologue in a fourth prologue, to show how people took her death. But I decided to reduce the size of this story to end it as soon as possible. So, the outcome will only be explained by the fourth or fifth arc. I also plan to create an 'intermission' chapter to show what happened with Visha and Mary Sue.
