In the enchanted forest James slowly opened his eyes. He looked around. He was in some kind of barn or something. He was shirtless with a bandage on his chest. Wherever he was it didn't matter he had to get out of here and get the ingredients his father wanted before he got home. If he didn't who knew what his father would do to him David or his mother. James tried to stand up but the pain became too much and he fell to the floor. Just then the barn door opened. Regina came in. She was holding a plate of food. She closed the door and saw James on the floor struggling to get up. She put the plate of food on the floor and ran over to him. "Here let me help you" she said helping him back on the stack of hay she had made into a bed for him. James looked at her scared. "What are you going to do to me" he asked as Regina walked over to the plate of food. She picked it up and put the plate down in front of James. "Nothing. I just thought you might be hungry" she said pointing at the food in front of James.
"What have you drugged it or something so that you could steal my wings" James asked having a terrible thought. What if she already stole his wings? He sat up and made his wings appear. James breathed a sigh of relief. Good they were still there. James made his wings disappear. Regina looked at him hurt. "I'm just trying to help. I don't want your wings" she said. James looked at her confused. His mother and father had always told him and David horror stories about how humans were evil and couldn't be trusted. They told him all they wanted was their wings. Were they wrong about humans? He saw Regina's hurt face and felt bad. Maybe all she was trying to do was help. He remembered back to her saving him when those men tried to steal his wings. He picked up the plate of food and started eating. He smiled at Regina. "This is really good" he said. She smiled back at him. "Really" she asked. James nodded.
"I'm sorry about how I was acting. My parents always told me that humans were evil and all they wanted was my wings. You don't seem evil though so maybe they were wrong" James said. Regina came and sat across from him. "Why would I want your wings" she asked. James continued eating. "Mom and dad said dragon wings are very valuable and they could make people rich. That's all humans care about" James said. "Not all humans are like that" Regina said. James looked at Regina. "I can see that" he said smiling. She smiled back at him. "Let's start over. HI I'm Regina" she said holding out her hand. "James" James said shaking it. "So James your parents sound like interesting people" Regina said. James nodded his head. "My mom is amazing. She's so loving to me and my brother" he said. Regina looked at him shocked. "You have a brother" Regina said. James nodded. "My twin brother David. He can be annoying sometimes but he's great too" James said.
"I'd like to meet him someday. Your mother too. What about your father" Regina asked. James put the plate down and looked at Regina darkly. "My father is a monster. He doesn't care about me, my brother or my mother. All he cares about is power" James said. "Sounds familiar" Regina said. James looked at her shocked. "Is your father like that too" he asked. Regina shook her head. "Not my father but my mother is. My father's great. So kind and nurturing. Sometimes I question if my mother eve loves me" she said. James and Regina looked at each other understanding the pain they had been through in life without even having to say it. Regina looked down at the plate on the floor. "Sorry it wasn't more. That was all I could get without my parents getting suspicious" Regina said. James smiled. "That's fine. I appreciate it. Thank you" he said. Regina shook her head. "It was nothing. I'll get you more food later" she said. They spent most of the day just talking.
A day later Regina came back with more food. James saw that she was wet as she shook herself off. "Are you OK" James asked. Regina nodded. "It's just a little rain. No big deal" she said placing the food in front of James. "Thanks" he said taking the food. "Your welcome" she said. She sat across from him. "How are you feeling" Regina asked. James nodded his head. "I'm feeling better. I think I may be able to leave by tomorrow morning" he said. Regina put on a fake smile. "Oh that's great" she said. She didn't want him to leave. She looked away from him sad. James noticed this and put a finger under her chin and turned her head to him. "I don't want to though" he said. He really didn't. He wished he could stay there with Regina forever but if he didn't do what his father asked there would be hell to pay. He brushed a strand of hair out of Regina's face with his hand. Regina started crying. "James I don't want to say goodbye. This last day with you has been the happiest I've been in a while" she cried.
"Me too" James said. They just looked at each other savoring every minute together. It would be almost impossible for them to be together. His father would never accept it and probably hurt Regina and he wouldn't let that happen. Her mother wouldn't accept and would probably hurt James and she wouldn't let that happen. "I wish there was a way we could be together without our parents getting involved" Regina said. James nodded. "Yea I know but my father would never accept this and I don't know what I'd do if he ever hurt you" James said. "My mother wouldn't accept this either. Maybe it's better if we just say good bye" Regina said. She put a hand on James's chest touching his abs. She took the bandage off and saw that he was healed. Their eyes caught each other and they stared at each other. Before either of them knew what was happening James leaned in and kissed her. Regina pulled back and looked at him shocked. "Damn it James you idiot" He thought to himself. "I'm sorry I don't know what" he started but Regina interrupted him when she kissed him. He kissed her back and they spent a passionate night together not really caring about the consequences only caring about being with each other.
In Storybrooke David and Emma were finishing up breakfast. Katherine had just left for work so it was just David and Emma. David told Emma all about his discovery the night before. Emma held the rock up and examined it. "So these rocks can take away memories and replace them with fake ones" she said. David nodded. "Yea they're very powerful and dangerous" he said. "You think Uncle James and Aunt Regina used this on Henry" she asked. "That would explain how they've been keeping him from asking questions about this town and that day we saw him and he didn't remember anything about the curse. This is how they're getting away with it" David said getting up and putting his plate in the sink. "Dad if this rock is magic how does it work? There's no magic here" Emma asked. "It has it's own magic. Those rocks can work anywhere" David said. Emma put the rock in the box and closed it. She looked at the other box. "We don't know who this rock is bonded to do we" she asked.
"If I had to guess I'd say it's bonded to Graham but I don't know for sure" David said. Emma looked at her father confused. "Why Graham" Emma asked. "I saw him the other day coming out of your Aunt and Uncle's house and he hugged your Aunt. I don't think we can trust him" David said. Emma looked at him unsure. "Are you sure dad" Emma asked. David walked into the living room and came back with an envelope. He placed in front of Emma. "It's all right here" David said. Emma opened the envelope and took out what was inside it. Inside was pictures of Graham outside James and Regina's house. She saw the picture of Graham hugging Regina and felt hurt and betrayed. Was Graham plying her and working for James and Regina. She would never let anyone hurt her father non matter how much she liked them. "I gotta go Emma" David said. That bought Emma out of her thoughts. "Where are you going" she asked. "I need to make sure Archie is OK" David said.
David knocked on the door to Archie's office. Archie answered and smiled at David. "Mr. Nolan how can I help you" Archie asked. "Can I come in" David asked. Archie nodded his head. "Of course" he said moving out of the way so David could enter his office. Archie closed his office door. "So what can I do for you" he asked motioning for David to sit down on the couch. "I wanted to make sure you were alright after last night" David said sitting down on the couch. Archie sat down in his chair across from the couch. "Yea I'm fine. Thank you again by the way" he said. David nodded. "Regina and my brother haven't contacted you or anything" David asked. Archie shook his head. "No I haven't talked to Regina since last night" he said. "Well let me know if they threaten you or anything. I won't let them take away this office or your house" David said. Archie nodded. "Thank you I appreciate it" Archie said. Just then David's phone rang. He pulled it out and answered it. "Hello" he answered. "Deputy Nolan this is nurse Gomez I have those files you requested" the nurse said into the phone. "OK thank you I'll be right there" David said. He hung up the phone and put it away. David stood up. "I have to go. Stay in touch" he said. Archie nodded again. "I will" he said. David left the office and headed to his truck. Archie was a good friend back home and he wasn't going to let James and Regina hurt him here. Archie was now officially under his protection and they would have to go through him if they wanted to hurt him.
