It was night in Storybrooke and David was at the gym working out after a long day. He just needed to get away for a little while. David was punching the punching bag thinking about the last week he had. He just found out that his mother was alive last week and James had been lying to him about it the whole time. He also made the decision that he was going to have to have the very hard conversation with Kathryn about how he wanted a divorce. He was going to try to be with Snow, his actual wife no matter what James and Regina had to say about it. He didn't want to hurt Kathryn but he knew he had to be honest with her or as honest as he could be. He finally had the upper hand over James and Regina. He had the memory rocks hidden where they would never find them and only him and Emma knew where they were. He had Graham and Henry on his and Emma's side since they knew the truth know. Most importantly he could hold the fact that their mother was still alive over James.
"David" someone called bringing him out of his thoughts. He stopped punching the bag and saw Kathryn standing there. "Kathryn what are you doing here" he asked. She walked up to her husband and smiled at him. She admired his big muscles which were shown off really well thanks to the tight black wifebeater he was wearing. "I have a surprise for you at home" Kathryn said. David took a deep breath. "Kathryn we need to talk" David started to say but Kathryn interrupted him by putting a finger to his lips. "First I want to show you my surprise" she said. David nodded his head. "I'll get cleaned up. It should take me 20 minutes or so" he said. She kissed him. "That's fine I'll wait" she said. David walked to the back while Kathryn stood there waiting. Neither one of them were aware of the person outside who had been video taping David through one of the windows. They played the video back and watched David all sweaty working out and smiled.
"Looking good Prince Charming. Pretty soon that sexy body will be all mine to do what I want with it" the stalker said. They walked away from the building and to a waiting car. They got in the backseat. "We have a special stop to make. I have a gift for the Prince" the stalker said as the driver drove off. Back in the gym 20 minutes later David walked out to Kathryn in jeans and a Henley. His hair was wet as he had obviously taken a quick shower. He threw a blue button down shirt on over that but left it open and put on his leather jacket. "So what's this surprise" David asked. Kathryn shook her head. "If I told you it wouldn't be a surprise" she said. David sighed. "Ok let's go" David said. They walked out of the gym and David looked around confused. "Where's your car" he asked. "At home. Regina drove me here. I thought we could take your truck home" Kathryn said. David nodded his head. "Of course we can" he said. They got in the truck and drove off toward their house.
David pulled into the driveway turned off the truck and was going to get out when Kathryn stopped him. "I need you to put this over your eyes" she said holding up a blindfold. David looked at it for a moment confused. "Why" he asked. "The surprise is in the house and I don't want it ruined by you seeing it before I'm ready for you to see it" she said. David wasn't sure. He didn't know what was in store for him in the house and he wanted to be prepared just in case it was anything bad. His instincts were telling him that it wasn't anything bad and she just genuinely wanted to surprise. He smiled at her. "Ok I'll put it on" he said wrapping the blindfold around his eyes. He couldn't see a thing. Kathryn got out of the truck and opened David's door. "I'm just going to take your arm and lead you into the house" she said taking his arm and leading him to the front door. She unlocked the door and walked him into the house closing the door behind him.
Kathryn walked David into the living room. "Ok you can take the blindfold off" she said. David did as he was told. "Surprise" people yelled all around him. He looked around seeing a bunch of people who he knew back home but didn't know who they were here. He turned to Kathryn. "What is all this for" he asked. "Well I thought we should celebrate being a family again. You me and Emma. These are all our close friends" Kathryn said. David looked around not really knowing anyone who was standing in the living room. "Of course our close friends" he said awkwardly looking around. Dr. Whale walked up to them. "David, Kathryn" he said holding out his hand for them to shake. They both did. "David it's good to see your OK. I know a lot has been going on but you haven't shown up for any of your checkups" Dr. Whale said. Kathryn looked at David shocked. "David you know your supposed to go see Dr. Whale every couple of days just to make sure there aren't any lasting effects after your attack" she said.
"Like Dr. Whale said a lot has been happening but obviously I'm fine" he said. "There's been no memory loss and nothings been hurting that shouldn't" Dr. Whale asked. David shook his head. "Nope I'm as fit as a fiddle" he said. Dr. Whale nodded. "I'm happy to hear that. Have fun and congratulations on your family being reunited" he said. David put on a fake smile. "Thank you, Dr. Whale" he said. "Oh and be careful. Don't be getting knocked out in the woods anymore. Next time something more serious might happen" Dr. Whale said. David sighed. "I'll do my best" he said. Dr. Whale walked away from them. David looked around the house searching for Mary. He wanted to talk to her to tell her that he was going to leave Kathryn and he wanted to give them a shot. "Everything OK" Kathryn asked. David turned around and looked at her. He smiled and nodded. "Yea everything is fine" he said. Kathryn frowned. She knew something was up with David and that he was growing distant from her. "I'll be right back. It looks like were running out of snacks. I've got to refill them" Kathryn said walking away into the kitchen. David watched her leave. He felt bad. He couldn't be honest with her and he knew he was going to break her heart but he was done playing James and Regina's games. He was going to be with his wife and reunite his real family and this time he had the upper hand against James and Regina.
