David was walking around the party when James walked up to him. "David we need to talk" James said. David rolled his eyes. "Yes we do. Who invited you to the party? I thought this was supposed to be fun" he said. James shrugged his insult off. "You know party's aren't fun unless I'm there. It always been like that since we were younger but we need to talk about Henry" he said. David sighed. "I already told you the issues you Henry and Regina have are your business. I can't help it that he's finally smartened up and stopped talking to you and Regina" he said. Henry hadn't talked to James or Regina since the whole them getting David arrested thing. He was still mad at them for that and them lying to him his whole life and he'd been doing everything he could to avoid them. It hurt James and Regina that he wouldn't talk to them. The only reason Henry knew the truth was because Emma used the memory stone on him. This was her mess so her and David needed to clean it up.
"If Emma hadn't got involved in things she shouldn't be involved in Henry wouldn't know anything about who me and Regina were back home and he would still be talking to us. This is your daughter's mess so you need to fix it" James said. David shook his head. "No this is all because you and Regina never trusted your son enough to let him know who you guys really are. I don't blame him for not wanting to be lied to anymore. I wouldn't either" he said. James stepped closer to David. "Your going to want to fix this. I would hate for something to happen to Snow because you didn't do as you were told" James said. David laughed. "You know I would hate for Regina to find out you've been lying to her for 18 years about mom being dead" he said. James looked at his brother shocked. "Mom is dead" he said. David shook his head. "Mom's very much alive in the mines where you've trapped her" he said.
"How do you know that" James asked. "While Emma was trapped down there she met mom and she told me. I went to see her and we had a very interesting conversation about how you cursed her to be stuck in the mines and how you've been lying to Regina about it" David answered then glared at his brother. "She's your mother and the only person left who still believes there is good somewhere inside you. How could you do this to her" David asked. James took a minute to compose himself before answering. "I did what I had to. Mom understands" he said. David scoffed. "Yea I'm sure she understands why her son would trap her in the mines away from everyone for 18 years where she couldn't see her other son or meet her granddaughter" he said sarcastically. "Mom knows this is what had to happen for me and Regina to get our happy ending. I won't let you twist this around like you always do with mom" James said.
"I don't twist anything around. I just tell mom the truth. For whatever reason that is beyond me she still sees some good in you" David said. "Mom sees the truth that she was helping me get my happy ending after you and Snow took it away from me and Regina" James said. "She also sees how wrong you were for separating families mine included" David said. James rolled his eyes. "There you go again twisting everything around to be about you. This is not about you. For once in our lives the world doesn't revolve around you" he said. David nodded. "Your right. It's about a spoiled little boy who can't take responsibility for his actions and has to blame everyone else for his problems. It's time for you to grow up and look in the mirror James" David said. David saw Emma Henry and Graham sitting across the room. "Now if you'll excuse me I have more important people to talk to" David said. "If you come after me or any member of my family Regina finds out about mom" he said walking away.
David approached Emma Henry and Graham. "Hi dad" Emma said. "Hi guys" David said. "What did my dad want" Henry asked. "He wanted me to convince you to talk to him and Regina again" David said. Henry rolled his eyes. "That's not going to happen. All they do is lie and I'm sick of it" he said. "They're still your parents" David said. "Unfortunately" Henry said under his breath. Graham looked at David. "We were just talking about how we needed a name for the mission" Graham said. David looked at them confused. "What mission" he asked. "To bring back all the happy endings. Henry and Graham can help us now" Emma said. "We were thinking something like operation cobra. What do you think" Henry asked. David shrugged his shoulders. "Works for me" he said looking around. "Looking for someone" Graham asked. David nodded. "Snow. It seems everyone in town is here besides her" he said. "Maybe she got busy" Emma said. David nodded. "Yea maybe" he said. He looked in the kitchen and saw Kathryn getting some snacks. "I'll be back" he said walking to the kitchen.
When David walked into the kitchen she was giving snacks to some of the partygoers. "Kathryn" David said. Kathryn jumped at the sound of her name and turned around to see David standing there. "David hi. You should be enjoying the party" she said. David nodded. "So should you. You set this party up after all" David said. "I guess I don't feel in the partying mood right now" Kathryn said. Before David could say anything Regina walked into the kitchen. She smiled at them with a smile David knew was fake. "Look ay you two. You make such a cute couple. You guys need to fight for each other and this relationship because you don't want to lose what you two have even with all the other temptations out there" Regina said looking at David. David and Kathryn look at each other. Regina grabbed a glass of water. "I just came in here for this" she said then left. David rolled his eyes and turned his attention back to Kathryn.
"When this party is over we have to talk" he said. Kathryn nodded. David walked out of the kitchen. He looked around at everyone. He always hated when he had to attend parties or balls back home. He much preferred to spend the time alone with Snow or his mother not entertaining people. David walked out of the house. He needed some fresh air. Kathryn walked out of the kitchen looking for David but couldn't find him. She saw Emma Henry and Graham talking. She walked up to them. "Hi guys" she said then turned her attention to Emma. "Honey have you seen your father" she asked. Emma shook her head. "Not since he went into the kitchen" Emma said. Kathryn sighed. Outside David was standing on the porch when he saw who he had been looking for Hanging a birdhouse. He smiled and walked over to her. He was going to make this work. He was going to leave Kathryn and then he could be with his wife and him her and Emma could finally be a family.
