Back in Storybrooke, Mary Margaret sat in Granny's at the bar playing with the ring on her finger when Dr. Whale walked in and took a seat next to her. "Rough day" he asked. "Don't feel like talking" Mary said not looking at him. "Come on, sometimes it's easier to talk to someone when you don't give a crap what they think" Dr. Whale said. Mary turned and looked at him. Then she looked away. "You ever walk into a situation where you know exactly what's going to happen and then you go into it anyway and then when what you were afraid of happens, you kick yourself because you should have known better but that's just who you are. So you keep punishing yourself" Mary asked. "No" Dr. Whale answered shaking his head. Mary looked back at him. "How do you do that" she asked. Dr. Whale laughed. "By never doing what's expected. Keeps life interesting" he said. "Can I buy you a drink" he asked. Mary thought for a moment. "You can buy me two" she said.

In the mines, James was having dinner with Maleficent. "So now Henry's home and he forgave me and Regina" James said. Maleficent smiled at her son as she took a bite out of the lasagna. "I'm happy for you guys. I knew Henry would come around" she said. James looked at his mother sadly. "I'm sorry mom" he said. Maleficent looked at him confused. "For what" she asked. James wiped his moth with a napkin. "Well for staters I'm sorry about what happened with David. I know that was hard for you" he said. Maleficent nodded her head and looked at her son hopefully. "Does that mean that you'll be willing to talk to David and make this right" she asked. James shook his head. "Unfortunately that's not going to happen. I have nothing to say to David" he said. "Please James we could all be a family again" she pleaded with her son. "That's not possible. David was right about something though" he said. "What's that" she asked.

"I'm exactly like dad" James said. Maleficent shook her head. "Your nothing like that monster" she said. All of a sudden she started to feel dizzy and tired. She looked at James who just stared at her sadly. Realization hit her and she looked at the lasagna. "What did you do" she asked as she fell out of her chair. James stood up and walked over to his mother. "Don't worry. You're going to be fine. They're just sleeping pills. You'll sleep for a couple hours" James said. Maleficent looked up at her son shocked. "Why" she asked. James sighed. "I did something mom. Something that will make you look at me differently and maybe even hate me" he said. "What are you talking about" she asked the affects of the sleeping pills taking over. "I erased David from existence. I took away all of his memories so he's basically a blank slate. He doesn't remember Snow, his daughter, you or even home. He remembers nothing about his life as David" he said.

"How… could…you" Maleficent asked as her vision started to get blurry. James looked sadly at his mother. "Me and David couldn't ever be brothers again. My brother that I grew up with died that night to me. This is our second chance. Maybe now me and my new brother, Connor, actually have a chance to be brothers. I miss having one" James said. Maleficent was struggling to stay awake. "David's caused the both us so much pain but that all ends tonight. No one remembers David existed except me, Regina and you. When you wake up David will have never existed to you. He won't be able to cause you anymore pain" James said. "No please" Maleficent said as she fell asleep. James shook his head. "I'm sorry mom. I truly am but David is the one who destroyed this family" he said as he took a memory rock out. He held it up to Maleficent's head. "David died before he could hatch. I'm the only son you had" James said as the memories of David disappeared from his mother's head and went into the rock.

In the Rabbit hole, Connor sat at the bar drinking water thinking. Something wasn't right. He didn't know what it was but something felt off to him. He had to get out and take a breather so he came to the bar. This town was different than he remembered it when he grew up and he had this really sneaky suspicion something was going on here that shouldn't be. Everyone just acted so weird. It was strange. He shook his head. Maybe that was his paranoia coming back. This was the same stupid town he grew up in. He took the last sip of his water and got up. He went to leave but stopped when he saw her. A woman he had never seen before sitting in a booth reading the newspaper. She had long blonde hair. Connor looked at her closely. She looked so much like his mother. He didn't know why but he felt connected to her. He walked over to the booth and sat across from her. "Hi I'm Connor Williams" he said holding out his hand. She put down the newspaper and looked at him surprised.

"Hi I'm Erica Swan" Erica said shaking Connor's hand. He smiled at her. She stared at him. There was something about him that felt warm and almost fatherly. She had never met this man before though. Why did she feel this strong of a connection to him? "I haven't seen you around here before" Connor said. Erica nodded her head. "I just moved here" she said. "Well you sure picked the most boring town in the us to move to" he said. Erica shook her head. "It can't be that bad. Anything's better than the foster system" she said. "You were in foster care" Connor said surprised. Erica nodded. "Yea my parents abandoned me on the side of the road when I was a baby. I guess I was too much of a burden for them" she said. Connor looked at her sadly. "I'm sorry. I don't have that much family myself. My mother died when I was 12 and my father left the country when I was 17 so it's just me and my twin brother James who is kind of a dick honestly" he said.

"That sucks. I'm sorry" Erica said picking back up the newspaper. She sighed. "Do you know anyone who's hiring in this town? I need a job" she said. Connor nodded. "You can come work down at the station" he said. Erica looked at him confused. "Station" she asked. Connor nodded. "I'm the town deputy and my friend Graham is the sheriff. He'll give you a job" he said. Erica shook her head. "I appreciate the offer but me and law enforcement don't really mix" she said. Connor laughed. "I understand trust me. I've had my issues with law" he said. "You have" she asked. "I've been in rehab three times and I've been arrested around five. Unfortunately that's why I'm in this stupid town. They need family to watch over me and make sure I don't go back to my old ways" Connor said. Erica looked unsure. "I don't know" she said. Connor took out a pen and wrote a number on a napkin. "Call this number and I promise we will find something for you to do" he said handing her the napkin.

"Connor" Connor and Erica heard someone call. They both looked over by the door and saw Connor's twin brother James standing there. Connor rolled his eyes as James walked over to them. "Hello Connor and…" James said looking at his niece who was now cursed into believing she was Erica Swan. The fact that David couldn't recognize his own daughter gave James a sense of satisfaction. Erica smiled at him and held out her hand. "I'm Erica Swan" she said. James looked down at her hand and sneered. "I don't care. You can leave. I have to talk to my brother" James said. "James" Connor said glaring at his brother. James ignored him and just glared at Erica. Erica got up. "I can tell I'm not wanted her. I'll give you a call" she said to Erica. Connor smiled at her. "I'm sorry" he mouthed to her as James sat in spot in the booth. She nodded and left. Connor looked at his brother. "Did you have to be so rude" he asked.

"Connor she is not someone you should be hanging out with especially not with your condition" James said. Connor rolled his eyes. "It's not a condition. It's an addiction and I'm fine. I haven't had a drink or taken drugs since I came here" he said. James nodded. "I'm going to need you to prove that" he said handing him a drug test. "Fine whatever" Connor said taking the test from his brother. "Are we done here" Connor asked. James shook his head. "I have one more thing to say" he said. James didn't say anything so Connor raised any eyebrow. "Well" he said. "I love you" James blurted out. Connor stared at him shocked. He didn't know what to say. James had never said anything like that to him. Hell James rarely had anything positive to say to him ever. "I just needed you to know that" James said looking at Connor who was just staring at him. "You know the polite thing would be to say me too or something along those lines" James said.

Connor shook his head. "I'm sorry. I just can't believe what I just heard. Are you OK? Are you dying" Connor asked. James rolled his eyes. He was still an idiot. "No I'm not dying. I can't tell my twin brother that I love him without there being something wrong" he said. Connor shook his head. "No you can't. You've never said anything the nice to me. You told me that I was the worst thing that happened in your life and you wish I was never born. That's why we stopped talking" Connor said. James nodded. "I know I haven't always been the best brother to you but I thought we could start fresh. You are my baby brother after all" James said. Connor rolled his eyes. "Last time I checked we're twins. You're only five minutes older than me" he said. "Anyway I want us to try to actually be brothers. What do you say" James asked. Connor thought for a moment. His life would be so much easier with James on his side rather than against him.

He would be willing to give it a try. Connor nodded. "OK let's try to be brothers" he said. James smiled at him. "Perfect. Let's order some food. I'm starving" James said motioning for the waitress to come over. She came over and took their order. For the first time in years James enjoyed a meal with his brother. He missed this. He wished him and David were able to make it work but unfortunately they couldn't. He loved David. He really did even after everything that happened between them he still loved his brother. He just couldn't get over what David did and anytime he saw his face he was reminded of what happened that night and the anger came back. Maybe with Connor he could have the thing he's missed so much these last few years. A brother. It wouldn't be the same like it was with David but maybe without all that baggage they could make it work.
