"James what is this" Conner asked. "It's the crypt where Regina's father is buried. I came to pay my respects. Regina will be here soon" James said. Graham turned around, took out his flashlight and turned it on. "I have to look in there" Graham said. "I'm afraid sheriff that's not going to happen. Have some respect for the dead" James said. Graham ignored him and started to walk toward the crypt. Erica pulled him back. "Oh no stop" she said. "I have to get in there please" Graham said walking past Erica but she stopped him again. "Graham do you really think that your heart is in there" she asked. Graham nodded. "OK let's find out" Erica said walking up to the door. Conner walked over to James. "Maybe you could just let us take a look around. When we don't find anything we'll leave I promise" Conner said. James glared at his brother. "You may support his delusions but I do not. I will not let you guys go stomping around inside that crypt on a wild goose chase. You all need to leave" James said sternly.
Erica tried the door and found that it was locked. "Come on" she said trying the door again. Graham turned around and glared at James. "Open the door Mr. Mayor" he said. James glared back at him. "Excuse me sheriff" James said. "I know you have the key now open the door. NOW" Graham said yelling the last part. James shook his head. "I don't know if you hit your head and are having some psychotic episode but you work for me not the other way around" James said getting close to the sheriff. Graham pulled out his gun and pointed it at James. "Open the door. I won't ask again" Graham said. Conner ran in front of James. "Graham put that away. You can't just shoot James" Conner said. Graham continued to glare at James. "Think about it Conner. Why is he so hesitant to show us inside the crypt? What is he hiding" Graham asked. "Fine if you want to see inside the crypt be my guest" James said. He walked up to the door and unlocked it. Graham Erica Conner and James walked inside the crypt.
In the enchanted forest, the huntsman was brought to James and Regina's throne room. He was carrying a set of wings on his back. They weren't in there. "Wait here" the guard said. He left the room leaving the huntsman in the throne room by himself. He heard footsteps approaching. He turned around and saw James and Regina standing there dressed all in black. "I see you guys are still inn morning" the huntsman said. "The time for mourning is over. We simply find that black suits us" Regina said. James and Regina walked over to the huntsman. They looked around. "Where are they" James asked. "Unfortunately there's been a change of plans" the huntsman said. Both James and Regina glared at him. "What do you mean a change of plans" James asked. "I couldn't bring them to you because they're both dead" the huntsman said. James's face turned to one of pure rage. He waved his hand and the huntsman was pinned up against the wall.
"You were supposed to bring them to us not kill them" James said. "I have Snow White's heart and your brother's wings" Graham said. James walked up to him. "I don't care about that. You stole our revenge from us. Now we will steal your life" James said raising his hand. "Wait" Regina called out. James turned around and looked at his wife who walked up to him smiling. "This isn't so bad" Regina said. James looked at her confused. "We didn't want them dead. We wanted them to suffer like we have for all these years" James said. Regina ran her finger down James's exposed chest. "They paid the price with they're blood. Even though I wanted to see them suffer now they will no longer be a nuisance to us and that means that we…" Regina said kissing her husband passionately. Graham looked away. He really didn't want to see this. "Won" Regina finished after they separated. James smiled evilly at her. He waved his hand and Graham fell to the floor.
James helped Graham up. "This is cause for celebration" James said. He looked at Graham and held out his hand for him to shake. "Apologizes for my bad manners. You succeeded where so many before you have failed" James said. Graham hesitated but then shook the kings hand. "Now let us see the heart and the wings" Regina said holding out her hand. "First there's something I must do" Graham said. He pulled out a note and held it out to the king and queen. "What's this" Regina asked. "The girl wanted you two to have it" Graham said. James and Regina looked at each other. "Read it to us" James said. Him and Regina walked over to their thrones and sat down in them. Graham opened the note and started reading.
"Dearest James and Regina,
By the time you read this, me and David will be dead. We understand that we made a terrible mistake that night. It's only fitting that after what we did to you this is how our story ends. For the sake of the kingdom, I hope our death satisfies your need for revenge, allowing you two to rule my father's subjects as they deserve, with compassion and a gentle hand. I know what you two think you're doing is vengeance, I prefer to think of it as sacrifice for the good of all. With that in mind, we welcome the end, and we want you to take our last message to heart. "We're sorry, and we forgive you" Graham read.
James and Regina looked on with anger in their faces. How dare they play the victims after what they did? They lost their child and could never have one because of Snow and Charming. They couldn't forgive them. Not now, not ever. Regina got up and stomped over to Graham she ripped the note out of his hand and walked over to the fireplace. She tore it up and threw it in the fire. "Don't tell me you're becoming a sheep" Regina said looking over to Graham close to tears. "Don't fall for their games. They were evil, manipulative liars. They don't deserve your sympathy" James said walking over to Regina and pulling her in for a hug. "They put others before themselves and yet you two hate them. What did they do to you" Graham asked. James and Regina looked into the fireplace. "We trusted them with a secret and they couldn't keep it" Regina said. "That betrayal cost us dearly" James said. James looked at his wife. "Are you OK, my love" he asked. Regina nodded her head. He comfortingly rubbed her shoulders.
"Now" Regina said turning to Graham and walking over to him. "Show me her heart" she said. "Let me see my brothers wings" James said. Graham took the wings off his back and put them on the floor. He took the bag he was carrying around his shoulder off his shoulder. Regina grabbed it and walked into another room. James waved his hand and the wings appeared in front of him. He started to examine them. Crap, Graham thought. He hoped the king didn't discover those weren't his brothers wings. He picked out the wings that looked the closest to the prince's. Graham looked over at Regina in the other room. Hopefully neither one of them found out about his deceit. Regina took the heart out of the bag and threw the bag on the floor. She smiled at the heart. Graham watched worriedly. Regina opened a box and Graham looked over at James who now turned the wings over and examined them further. He looked back over at Regina who put the heart in the box and closed it.
Regina walked over to her wall and waited. Graham looked over at James who frowned and looked up at the huntsman. Regina looked at the wall confused. Something was wrong. "It should open" she said. She opened the box and took the heart out. She let the box fall to the floor and turned around looking at the huntsman. Graham watched as both the king and queen angrily walked up to him. "This isn't her heart" Regina said. "Those aren't his wings" James said pointing at them. "THIS ISN'T A HUMAN HEART" Regina yelled. "What did you do" James asked. "How did you know" Graham asked. "If this was her heart the wall would have opened" Regina said pointing to the wall. "David's my twin brother. You don't think I know what his wings look like. THEY LOOK EXACTLY LIKE MINE" James yelled magically choking Graham. He looked over at the wings and blew fire at them burning them. He turned back to Graham. "Now you have 5 seconds to explain or I will kill you" James said.
Back in Storybrooke, Graham, Conner, Erica and James were in the crypt. Graham was still pointing his gun at James. "Where is it" he asked the mayor. "Where is what" James asked back. "MY HEART" Graham yelled walking over to James. He pointed the gun at his head. "Graham don't" Conner said. "Sheriff you are obviously not well. I think you should go see Dr. Hopper…" James started to say but Graham pushed the gun into James's head. "I'M NOT CRAZY" he yelled. He shined his flashlight around the crypt. "It's got to be in here somewhere" Graham said moving away from James and looking around the crypt. James let out a sigh of relief. He was actually scared for a second there. He looked at the stone tomb in the center of the crypt. He had to keep them away from it. Conner and Erica watched Graham concerned. "There's got to be a hidden door" Graham said trying the wall. Nothing. "A lever or something" Graham said shining the flashlight under the tomb and checking it.
James stood there nervously hoping Graham didn't find anything. Graham moved away from the tomb and saw a jar on a shelf. He put his flashlight on the shelf and tried to open it but it wouldn't open. Conner and Erica looked at each other. They had to stop this. He put the jar back on the shelf and picked up his flashlight again. "There's got to be something here" Graham said. "Graham, Graham" Conner said stopping him. Graham looked at his friend. "There's nothing in here" Conner said. "There has to be. If there isn't…" Graham started to say but Erica grabbed his hand. "It's OK. It's going to be OK" she said. "What the hell do you think your doing" Regina asked from outside the crypt. They all looked out the door. James walked out and over to Regina. "We have a problem" he whispered. Graham shined his flashlight outside the crypt. They all walked out of the crypt. "What are you doing here" Conner asked. "Bringing flowers to my father's grave like I do every Wednesday" Regina answered.
"Don't blame them. It's my fault. I wanted to look in there" Graham said stepping forward. "Really why" Regina asked. "He thinks we're hiding his heart in there" James answered for Graham. She looked at her husband concerned. He nodded. She turned back to Graham and examined him. "You don't look well dear. We'll take you home" Regina said grabbing his hand. "Keep that gun holstered. Wouldn't want you to try to shoot me again" James said. Regina looked at James shocked. "What" she asked. "I don't want to go home" Graham said pulling his hand out of her grasp. "Not with the two of you" Graham said. Erica and Conner looked at him shocked. James looked over at his brother. "Conner you should take Graham home before he hurts himself or someone else" James said. "James, Regina maybe we could talk…" Conner started to say but James shook his head. "Now Conner. Do as I say" he ordered.
Conner had enough. His whole life James would boss him around and bully him to do what he wanted. Conner was always scared of him but no more that ended tonight. He was going to take Graham's advice and stand up for himself. "No" Conner said. Everyone turned and looked at him. Graham smiled at his friend proudly. "What did you just say" James asked walking over to his brother. He stood tall in front of Conner. Normally that would make him nervous and intimidated but not tonight. "I said no. All you do is order me around and treat me like crap. You've never treated me like a real brother. Well I'm sick of it. I'm staying here with my friend and if you don't like it you and your wife can leave" he said. James moved closer to Conner trying to intimidate him but it didn't work. Conner was standing his ground. "Miss Swan over there has been a bad influence on you" James said. "Hey your family issues have nothing to do with me. Leave me out of it" Erica said. Regina looked over at her and glared.
"She's right. It's between us. Things have to change. You have to start respecting me as your brother and stop treating me like a baby who can't do anything" Conner said. James let out a little laugh. "Look who finally got balls between his legs" James said. Conner nodded. "You know what yea I have because I learned I don't deserve to be treated like crap from you. You're just a sad bitter bully and I'm done letting you bully me around. I know now that the issues in our relationship aren't because of me. They're because of you" Conner said. James glared at his brother. "So what you think you can all of a sudden survive on your own? Did you forget one word from me and you're back in prison? This time there won't be any twin brother there to bail you out" James said. Conner shook his head and stepped right up to James's face just as tall. "You'd have to prove it and I'm clean. Have been since I came back to this stupid town. You can't scare me anymore" he said.
Regina looked over at Graham. "Sheriff, you might want to get back to your position and forget about these delusions" she said. Graham shook his head. "Not until you two tell us the truth. What are you guys hiding" Graham asked looking between Regina and James. "I assure you Sheriff, there is nothing to tell. You are obviously having an episode…" Regina started to say but Graham grabbed her. "I'M NOT CRAZY" he yelled in her face. James walked over and pushed him off Regina. "Keep your hands off my wife" James said. Conner stepped in front of Graham. "Keep your hands in front off my friend" Conner said. James looked at his brother sternly. "Conner I'm willing to forgive your inappropriate outburst if you walk back to the car and let the grown ups deal with this" he said. Conner just folded his arms in front of his chest. "I'm not moving" he said. "We're going to give all of you one more chance. LEAVE NOW" Regina said. Conner, Erica and Graham didn't move.
James looked at his brother and glared at him. "You always have to ruin everything. Dad was right. Your worthless and an embarrassment to this family. Your just a sad pathetic druggie who no one will ever love" James said. Conner snorted. "You always have to blame me for everything. Well maybe you two should look in the mirror. If you did you would see that the problem isn't me. It's the two of you" he said. "Excuse me" Regina said glaring at her brother in law. "No one in this town likes the two of you. They're all just scared of you. I actually have people around me who like me. Hell even your son is scared of the two of you. James it looks like you turned out to be just as shit of a father as ours was to us. I'd rather be the embarrassment of the family then turn out to be the same exact monster as the man who raised us" Conner said getting close to James. This was it for James now he was pissed. Conner hit his sore spot without even knowing it.
James punched Conner across the face. Conner fell into Graham and they both fell to the floor. "Hey whoa let's all just calm…" Erica started to say but James pushed her out of the way. Conner got up and punched James back hard. James fell to the floor. "James" Regina called out helping him up. James charged at Conner and the two brothers fought each other. After all the punches and kicks, Conner pinned James against the wall of the crypt. He was about to punch him again when Graham and Erica pulled him off James. "Conner calm down" Graham said as Conner struggled in his arms trying to get back to his brother. Regina ran up to her husband who had a bloody lip and black eye. "Are you OK" she asked. James looked at her and calmed himself down. "Yes I'm fine. No matter what that piece of trash tried to do to me" James said to Regina. Conner calmed himself down and rolled his eyes. He was sporting his own black eye and his body was sore.
Conner glared at his brother. "Your not worth it" Conner said walking away. Graham and Erica followed suit leaving James and Regina standing there. Conner, Graham and Erica got back to the car. "Hey Conner are you OK" Erica asked. Conner nodded. "Yea I'm fine. I'm finally free" he said getting into the car. For the first time in his life Conner felt free to make his own choices and not be made to feel like shit by his brother. He would never feel worthless because of any member of his family again and that made Conner happier then he had been in a very long time.
