In the enchanted forest, five year old David and James ran up to Maleficent excitedly. "Mommy, mommy you're never going to believe what happened" James said. Maleficent looked at her sons then at the servant she was talking to. She nodded her head to the servant and they bowed and left the room. Maleficent smiled at her sons. 'So what's got you both so excited" she asked. David and James looked at each other. "We finally turned into dragons" David blurted out. Maleficent looked at her sons excitedly. "You did" she asked. James nodded. "Here let me show you" he said. He transformed into a little dragon. Maleficent smiled at him with tears in her eyes. She looked over at David. "What about you" she asked. David transformed into a little dragon also. Maleficent beamed at her baby boys with pride. They could finally transform into dragons. David and James transformed back into their human selves. They saw that they're mother looked like she was going to cry and looked at each other confused.
They walked up and hugged Maleficent. "Mommy, don't be sad" David said. James nodded. "Yea we're sorry for making you sad" James said. Maleficent shook her head and hugged her sons. "You didn't make me sad. I'm just so happy" she said. David and James were confused. "Why are you crying then" David asked. Maleficent pulled back and looked at her sons. "I'm just so proud of both of you. My babies are growing up" Maleficent said smiling at her sons. "Yes they are" Mephisto said walking into the room with Lily behind him. David and James moved closer to their mother. Their father scared them. He wasn't very nice to them normally and when he got mad he was even worse to them. They had the scars to prove it. Mephisto looked at his sons and rolled his eyes. "Look at the two of you. Hiding behind your mother. How did I get these embarrassments as sons? At least I have you, Lily. You turned out OK" Mephisto said.
Lily looked at her little brothers and shook her head. "I would never act like that Daddy. It is an embarrassment to the family" she said. Mephisto nodded. "Of course it is. That's why some day you will take over the throne" he said. Lily smiled at her father. She was his princess and the only person he truly loved. Before she was hatched he made sure he took all the good out of her. She was pure evil. He tried to do it with David and James but Maleficent made sure he couldn't. She wasn't happy about what he did to their daughter. She wanted more for her children then just being villains. She knew where that lead and she didn't want that for her children. Mephisto looked at his sons. "You two remember the rules right" he asked. David and James nodded. "Yes…sir" they said shakily. Mephisto looked at them expectantly. "We are never to leave the castle. You don't want us to embarrass the family" they said together. "Very good boys. Now disappear out of my sight" Mephisto said. They did as they were told.
In Storybrooke, Conner walked into Mr. Gold's shop. "Gold" he called out. He looked around and didn't see anyone. "You in here" Conner asked. Gold was in the backroom pouring ingredients into a pot. "Well it is my shop" he said softly. Conner walked into the back room. He stopped and sniffed. "Whoa! What is that" Conner asked pointing toward the pot. "This is a special kind of medicine you can say. It's almost done" Gold said. "It smells like livestock" Conner said. "Well, it has been tested on sheep" Gold said. "It stinks. If there was a reason you called the Sheriff's Department, if you want to talk about that quickly, or outside" Conner said. "I just have two things. First I wanted to express my condolences, really" Gold said. Conner looked at him sadly. "The Sheriff was a good man" Gold said. Conner nodded. "You're still wearing the Deputy's badge" Gold said pointing at the badge on Conner's belt. Conner looked down at the badge.
"Well, he's been gone for two weeks, now and I believe that after two weeks of acting as Sheriff, the job becomes yours" Gold said. Conner just stared at him. He didn't know if he actually believed that he could be Sheriff. "You'll have to wear the real badge" Gold said. "Yeah. I guess. I'm just not in a hurry" Conner said. Gold smiled at him which made Conner a little uncomfortable. "Well, thank you for the kind words. What was the other thing you wanted" Conner asked. "Well, I actually have something for you that I find…I don't know, how do I say it? CHARMING" Gold said. Conner stared out into space as his eyes went blank. Gold smiled. His puppet was standing there waiting for his strings to be put back on. Gold walked over to the pot and poured the contents into a veil. He walked back over to the hypnotized prince. He held out the veil. "You will take this and put it in yours and your wife's coffee in the morning. You won't remember doing it after you do it" Gold ordered.
Conner took the veil from him and put it in his jacket pocket. "You will make sure you guys drink the whole thing. Do you understand" Gold asked. Conner nodded his head. "Yes he said robotically. Gold smiled sinisterly. "When I snap my fingers you will come out of the hypnosis" he said. Gold snapped his fingers and Conner blinked. He looked at Gold expectantly. "So what else did you want" Conner asked. "Follow me" Gold said walking out of the backroom. Conner followed him. Gold took out a box from underneath his desk and put it on top of the desk. "I have his things" Gold said. "What" Conner asked. "The sheriff. He rented an apartment that I owned. That was the other reason for my call. I wanted to offer you a keepsake" Gold said. "I don't need anything" Conner said. Gold nodded. "As you wish" he said. Conner turned to walk out of the shop. "I'll give them to the mayors" Gold said. Conner turned back around and looked at Gold.
"Next to you, it seems like they were the closet things he had to family" Gold said. "I'm not sure about that" Conner said walking over to the desk. "No love lost there between your brother and sister in law, I see" Gold said. Conner just looked at him. "Look..." Gold said opening the box. "I fear that all of this stuff is headed directly into the trash bin you really should take something" Gold said. Conner looked at the box. Gold took Graham's jacket out of the box. "Look his jacket" Gold said. Conner shook his head. "No" he said. "Here, look" Gold said pulling out two walkie talkies. "These might come in handy, don't you think? You and your deputy could use them" he said putting them on the desk. Conner shook his head. It was too hard to look at any of this stuff. Graham had been there for him his entire life. He was almost like another brother to Conner. But one that actually cared and wasn't such an ass. "I don't…" Conner started to say.
"No, please. Life goes by so fast. Take them" Gold said. Conner hesitantly took them. He didn't completely trust Gold and was actually kind of scared of him. "Thanks" Conner said. "You make good use out of those. They will help you and your deputy, you know. It might surprise you how much having some of the sheriff's stuff around you might help. Before you know it, It becomes easier to live without the people we lose" Gold said. Conner looked at Gold wearily. Just then Conner's phone rang. He pulled it out and answered it. "Hello" he said. "Conner I need you to get down to Henry's castle now" James said into the phone. "Is everything OK" Conner asked. "Just get down here" James said hanging up. Conner looked over at Gold. "I have to go. Thanks again for these" he said. Gold nodded. "Anytime" he said. Conner left the shop and Gold smiled sinisterly. He picked up his phone and called somebody. "The prince has the potion. It's only a matter of time. Begin preparations for the next phase" Gold said.
He hung up the phone. All of the pieces of his plan were falling into place perfectly. Pretty soon thanks to that potion he gave the prince Kathryn would be pregnant soon and once he got his hands on that baby then next phase of his plan could begin starting with getting this curse to break. Having a baby with dragon blood would be very valuable to him. No one in this town knew what was coming and Gold was going to make sure they weren't threats to his plan. Not the prince, the king, the queen or the savior. They weren't even going to know what hit them until it was too late.
