A minutes before, arena floor
Futon: Kamaitachi no jutsu
Naruto dodged another blast of wind from the Suna kunoichi. Was that the only jutsu she knew?
Futon: Kamaitachi no jutsu
Suiton: Suijun no jutsu
Naruto anchored himself to the floor, his water shield granting him a few precious seconds to think of a strategy. He needed something to get closer to the kunoichi or drag her closer to him.
Futon: Kamaitachi no jutsu
He swiftly moved the shield around, barely noticing Temari changing position in time to block the attack, just for his shield to remain still and his back being ravaged by blades of winds.
He looked up, noticing three more Temaris jumping all around, making sure to keep Naruto wondering about which one was the real one and which ones were illusory clones. Stupid Bunshin. New plan, he also needed an expert in genjutsu.
A moment of realization struck him. He jumped, dodging the attacks from one of the Temaris, unsure which one was the real one while flashing through hand signs, his hands covered in blood thanks to the kunoichi's wind jutsus.
Kuchiyose no jutsu
He slammed his hand to the ground, a puff of smoke revealing a large green toad with lipstick and fake eyelashes
"Gamariki-san! I need you to grab the Suna kunoichi with the giant fan."
The toad nodded, jumping away from another Kamaitachi no jutsu.
Temari frowned. She didn't want to use her summon's large scale attacks in such a chaotic combat, but things weren't going well. The puppeteering squad, despite being supported by Baki-sensei, was losing to Jiraiya and the Hyuuga . Maki had been defeated and Gaara was out of control. She didn't even dare to look up the stands to see how the rest of the invasion force was handling the situation, but the fact none of them had jumped down to help them was not a good sign. She bit her thumb, smearing blood all over her Kyodai Sensu.
Kuchiyose: Kirikiri Mai no jutsu
A large, one-eyed white ferret carrying a sickle appeared right next to her, ready to strike. Before she could tell Katamari what to do, the ferret was forced to jump in front of her, blocking a long tongue aimed at her coming from the frog.
"That's the real one, gaki!"
Temari saw a wave of exploding tags jumping towards her. She swung her Kyodai Sensu towards the ground, pushing them away from her.
Futon: Kamaitachi no jutsu
She saw the blonde weaving through hand signs
Futon: Kiryu Ranbu jo jutsu
An eruption of debris launched towards her. She waved her fan again, dispersing the smokescreen Naruto was trying to create.
"I got you!" She spun her head toward the noise, closing her fan in an attempt to block whatever attack was coming her way. She raised her fan as a shield, blocking two of the Konoha's brat clones from hitting her, but the third one proved to be too much. Her neck violently snapped back as his hook connected, pushing her off balance. She tried to stumble back into a guard position, but another clone knocked her wind out with a kick to her stomach. And then, the three clones were on top of her, outnumbering her and hitting too fast for her to mount an adequate defense. She saw another three clones swarming Katamari, the green frog's tongue darting like a whip to grab her summon and slam it to the ground at the mercy of the clones. Her vision got blurry as she dropped her Kyodai Sensu and the last thing she saw was a clone jumping toward her, his feet rushing toward her face.
Naruto let the Suna girl drop to the ground. He heard the screams of Gaara's monstrous form charging at his friends. He couldn't get there is time, and jumping in with a Shunshin was suicide. With a practiced movement, he sheathed Ashina's blades and grabbed the Kyodai Sensu. The girl had just swung it around, no hand signs needed, right? He pumped as much of his chakra into the fan as he could, swinging towards Gaara in an attempt to push him away from Sasuke.
Futon: Kamaitachi no jutsu
Gaara was pushed away, just enough for his attack to miss.
"Stay away from my teammate!" he shouted.
Gaara growled at him, staring with hatred. "You… I saw the power you used against that Hyuuga! Why are you trying to protect them!? Why are you denying my existence!? Why won't you let me kill them?!"
"Leave them alone or I'm going to kick your ass!" shouted back Naruto.
Kage Bunshin no jutsu
Naruto created a swarm of clones charging at the crazed jinchuriki. Gaara snarled, launching himself towards the clones, his massive clawed arms stretching and expanding, every strand of chakra chasing the clones despite their attempts to dodge, curving around their guards to strike them down.
Katon: Gokakyu no jutsu
Gaara's figure was enveloped by flames, his figure not even bothering to block the attack. Sasuke, Sakura, Karin and Ryuzetsu landed next to him.
"Any ideas?" asked Ryuzetsu.
"Hold him until Jiraiya-sama can deal with him. Naruto, do you have any toad oil?" asked Sasuke.
Gaara growled at them, before inhaling and moving his grotesque hands into something that only resembled hand signs.
Futon: Mugen Sajin Daitoppa no jutsu
Gaara's mouth opened, releasing a sandstorm far too wide for them to dodge. Team 7 flashed through hand signs.
Suiton: Suijun no jutsu
The three water jutsus combined, forming a much larger shield that barely held together in front of the raw power of Gaara's attack.
"Show me that power again!" shouted Gaara, flying towards them. His claws shattered the remains of the water shield, forcing the group to scatter, but Gaara had a clear target in mind. His tail struck Naruto mid-jump, slamming him against the ground.
"I'm not letting you get away!"
He saw some Kibaku Fuda wrapping themselves around his face. A nuisance at best, but enough to blind him for a second or two. He roared in anger as the blonde once again escaped from him. Stupid tricks. Those weaklings couldn't satisfy Mother. They couldn't satisfy him. He needed more, more blood. More carnage. He saw Naruto through the smoke, his tail darting forward, but his target disappeared into smoke as soon as he struck. Clones. More clones. More distractions. More pathetic trick. He needed to erase them. He needed more strength. So much strength he could wipe out them and their tricks in one fell swoop. He shouted, his hands moving through the sand to form hand signs.
Tanuki Neiri no jutsu
His voice grew louder as his body grew in size. With one triumphant roar, the Ichibi was now free to rampage as it pleased.
Sasuke looked at the giant in the middle of the arena. He couldn't help but laugh. That was the thing they had been fighting the whole time? The same monster as the Kyuubi, the same Kyuubi that had killed the Yondaime?
"Hey, Naruto. This would be a pretty good moment to tell us you can do that as well." he said, in the irrational hope that Naruto would pull out something equally insane.
As if to answer him, the stadium took on a life of its own, walls twisting and pillars wrapping themselves like hungry snakes around the giant monster, causing it to roar in equal frustration and pain.
"Hatchlings!" they turned around to see the battered figure of their sensei. He was clearly exhausted, but it was equally clear that he was trying to keep up appearances for their sake. "This would be a good moment to toss all caution away and unseal all your Kibaku Fuda. Let's blow up the bastard's face." Naruto and Sakura nodded, unrolling their sealing scrolls, following their sensei in a practiced sequence.
Katon: Kibaku Enjin no jutsu
The tags darted in formation, soaring the distance and crawling onto the Biju's face, detonating and causing the giant to snort in irritation.
The Ichibi opened his mouth, swirls of black and white chakra gathering into a ball between its colossal jaws.
Kuchiyose no jutsu
A colossal red toad in a black haori with a scar over an eye and a smoking pipe in his mouth appeared on top of the Biju, dropping on top of him, red hands reaching for the beast's jaws to hold them shut. After a few seconds of struggle, a massive release of white energy split the Ichibi's mouth apart, the ball of chakra completely gone as its jaw slacked open for a second. Before the toad really had any chance to capitalize on that, the Ichibi's jaw reformed itself and the beast chomped down on the toad's arm, its attempt to throw off the toad made vain by the wooden pillars of the arena wrapping themselves around the Biju.
Kuchiyose no jutsu
A massive centipede appeared under Risu-sensei. "Move out to defend Jiraiya-sama on top of the toad. We can't let enemy ninjas interfere!" shouted the man, rushing toward a group of Suna ninja trying to attack the giant summon.
"Naruto!" cried out a red toad wearing a pair of glasses.
"Kosuke? What are you doing here?" asked Naruto.
"There's no time! Jiraiya-san says you need to make a 96 point infernal matrix!"
Naruto paled. "I've never used that formation!" he shouted back.
"There's no time for that! Just do it!" shouted back the toad.
Sasuke started weaving his own hand signs.
Kuchiyose no jutsu
He had pumped half his chakra to summon two giant ravens in front of Sakura and Karin.
"Sakura, Karin! Take the ravens and heal the wounded!" Shouted Sasuke. "Ryuzetsu, take the raven to Jiraiya-sama! Naruto, start with the formation,I'll watch your back!"
Naruto slapped himself
"I can do it."
He muttered, before pulling out his Fuin Fuda and started placing them in the formation.
With a quick glance at the battlefield, Risu noticed the barrier around the Kage booth dispersing. Without a second thought, he directed his centipede towards the Suna ninjas and jumped toward his Kage. On the way up he spotted the corpse of the Kazekage and the Kusakage, as well as the silhouette of four shinobi, two of them carrying the very distinct form of Orochimaru. He veered towards them, only to be halted by a group of Oto ninja. He swung around his naginata, slicing these useless pawns in his way, but once he looked at the horizon again, he saw how Orochimaru had fled outside his Byakugan field of vision.
Senpo: Goemon no jutsu
Jiraiya watched the boiling oil covering the head of the Ichibi, the body of the beast crushed under Gamabunta's weight as columns upon columns of wood encircled the beast's limbs. With a roar, the Biju sent a shockwave, spreading the oil around the arena. The giant tail swung, breaking free from the wooden restraints and striking Gamabunta in the face, pushing the summon away from its back, allowing it enough room to break free and launching Jiraiya into the air. The half-scorched face of the Ichibi stared at Jiraiya, jaw opening ready to catch the toad sage in his descent.
"Jiraiya-sama!"
Without so much as a single word, Shima's tongue darted forward, grabbing onto the leg of the giant raven and pulling them on its back with the pale girl from Kusa.
"Thanks for the assist, girl" said the female toad.
The Ichibi took in a deep breath, taking aim at the raven.
"We need to dodge that!" shouted Fukasaku.
Futon: Renkudan no jutsu
The raven dove down, dodging the ball of compressed air. Gamabunta launched himself at the Biju, sword at the ready.
Gamadosuzan
The blade cut deep into the arm of the Biju, but drew no blood, getting stuck in there as the beast grabbed the boss summon by his sides, claws digging into his flesh and drawing blood. As it started to lift the toad, more wooden pillars wrapped themselves around the arms, slowing it down.
"Let's go!" shouted Jiraiya, jumping once again toward the Biju's head while flashing through hand signs.
Senpo: Chochoodama Rasengan no jutsu
The giant sphere of chakra dug into the beast's face, making it lose its grip on the toad. Gamabunta recovered his sword and wrenched it out of the Ichibi's arm, twisting it enough for the weapon to slice the limb clean off. As the arm began to reform, Gamabunta grabbed the Ichibi, using all of his might to hold it still.
Senpo: Chochoodama Rasengan no jutsu
He saw Jiraiya jumping at the beast, a second massive Rasengan in hand while the Ichibi's tail darted toward Jiraiya, trying to stop the sage from landing his jutsu. The toad opened his mouth, his tongue darting toward the tail in an attempt to deviate it just enough for it to miss its target. He saw more and more wooden pillars attempting to do the same, their combined effort just enough to allow the jutsu to hit the monster in the face.
Katon: Gokakyu no jutsu
Sasuke's fireball hit the Suna ninja and her puppet, setting her on fire just long enough for Sasuke to cut her down with his sword.
"How much longer?!"
He shouted at Naruto, the boy's hands flashing through a series of hand signs.
"C'mon, stupid fox, I need your chakra for this!"
After a few seconds of concentration, Naruto's body was covered with the Kyuubi's red chakra cloak. As he finished his hand signs, he poured all of the chakra he gathered into the sealing array
Kujuroku Chiten Meido Fubaku Hojin
Red lines of Kyuubi-powered fuinjutsu script jumped at the Biju, binding the monster for but a second, before a wave of yellow chakra spread its way into the red lines. Naruto could feel the two chakra battling, the red trying to keep the seal and yellow trying to shatter it, when the yellow one overwhelmed the red one, the Fuinjutsu lines retracting into the Fuin Fuda and causing the sealing tags to explode violently, the closest one with enough force to push Naruto off his feet and into the ground.
As his second Rasengan dug into the Ichibi's face, Jiraiya saw the familiar lines of a Fubaku Hojin running over the Biju.
"It won't last! We have to dive in now!" shouted Fukasaku, he and Ma already weaving hand signs for their jutsu
Kekkai: Tengai Hojin no jutsu
Doton: Moguragakure no jutsu
The trio dove into the sand body of the temporarily paralyzed Biju, the sensing barrier telling them exactly where the jinchuriki's body was located. As they reached them, Jiraya was already weaving through hand signs, slapping a sealing tag on Gaara as Fukasaku punched the boy in the gut, waking him up, just in time for Jiraiya to finish activating the technique
Kijin no Chakra Chinatsu Fuin
The boy's chakra started to drain from his body into the seal, but it wouldn't be enough to fully contain the power of a Biju. Jiraiya grabbed the boy's feet, dragging him toward the surface as the chakra and sand avatar of the ichibi around them started to lose cohesion. As he reached the surface he swung his arm, tossing the boy in the air slamming against the wall in the direction of an expecting jonin
Mokuton: Shiki Jijun no jutsu: Kakuan Nitten Suishu
Naruto looked at the beast that just shattered his sealing array crumbling into dust and felt its chakra disappear in thin air, as if the beast had been nothing more than a collective hallucination. He looked at the panic spreading among the few surviving Suna forces, now abandoning their weapons and fleeing from the battlefield.
He allowed himself to slump on the floor.
The battle was over.
Konoha had won.
Notes
The fight with Temari was certainly not my best battle coreography, but at the same time you already knew how it was going to end up, so...
Did I mention I was going to buff the Ichibi? Well, I buffed the Ichibi, which now needs Gamabunta + Sage Mode Jiraiya + Yamato's Mokuton + a Kyuubi-powered sealing array to be defeated. This also has the unintended consequence of not giving Sasuke a reason to be jealous of Naruto for defeating Gaara since... he didn't. I did my best to show how utterly bonkers Biju can actually be, so I hope you are satisfied with the increased power. It should be more in line with what we see Kurama and the other Biju pulling off towards the end of Shippuden.
One thing that always bothered me in the Naruto vs Gaara fight is how sleeping Gaara is just there on Sukaku's forehead like a Legend of Zelda weak point. Both can control sand, why not just move him somewhere in the middle where Gaara is protected by a few metric tons of sand?
The Rasengan with the -no jutsu suffix... It sounds weird, but I made a rule and I gotta stick to it. Trust me, I tought about this one for a LOONG time before begrudgingly decided that I have to follow my own rules for consistency's sake

Kuchiyose: Kirikiri Mai no jutsu: Temari's ferret summoning. It's different from the normal summoning since it require a Kyodai Sensu but not hand seals.
Futon: Mugen Sajin Daitoppa no jutsu: wind blast that also carries sand
Tanuki Neiri no jutsu: The jutsu Gaara uses to go to sleep and let Shukaku come out to play
Senpo: Goemon no jutsu: The one true combination jutsu Jiraiya knows, combining Gamayudan (toad oil bullet jutsu) + an unspecified wind jutsu + an unspecified fire jutsu. Were it not for the addition of oil, I would have classified this one as Shakuton
Futon: Renkudan no jutsu: Drilling air bullets. Always loved the english name of this one
Gamadosuzan: kenjutsu move used by Gamabunta. it's pure kenjutsu, so the -no jutsu suffix isn't necessary
Senpo: Chochoodama Rasengan no jutsu: The largest Rasengan option among all the Rasengan variants
Kujuroku Chiten Meido Fubaku Hojin: 96 points infernal sealing array. It's the same as a normal Fubaku Hojin, just takes longer to form since it require 96 sealing tags instead of 4 and is fueled by the Kyuubi's chakra. Designed specifically to contain Biju, it's... not particularly effective, as you saw. I 100% made that up
Kijin no Chakra Chinatsu Fuin: short term Biju suppressing seal. I made that up
Mokuton: Shiki Jijun no jutsu: Kakuan Nitten Suishu: Wood style suppression with the longest name in the serie: Hokage-Style Sixty-Year-Old Technique — Entering Society with Bliss-Bringing Hands. It honestly feels like something Minato would come up with.

I considered going back and changing the name tbh. I am also fairly sure I'd miss a few spots and it might be confusing for future readers, so I think I'll stick to Kusakage for this story. Definitely using Dorokage for future stories tho.
Thing about Rasa's personality is... we don't get much of the man. Maybe he'd use different words than the one I picked, but unfortunately the only part where we get a glimpse of his personality is during the war arc, and that's not really enough. Sure, we see Rasa during Gaara's flashback, but those panels are clearly from Gaara's POV, and Gaara in that period isn't exactly the most reliable narrator
