Sayu sighed heavily as she unpacked her bags to stay a couple of weeks with her brother. Her eyes left her suitcases and landed on an elegant room filled with golden oak trimmings and decorative molding on the wall. Light leaned in the doorway and knocked gently on the door frame, one of her bags in tow behind him. "Is this going to be fine? Hopefully, when Beyond gets here, he isn't obnoxious. Can't say I have a real fondness for him. Kind of… crazy isn't the right word… wild? Yes, I'd say he's wild. L clearly got the sense between the two of them. Please, please, please, stay away from him. He'll likely pull another disappearance act like he did last year."

Sayu huffed her bangs out of her face while laughing slightly as she placed some clothing into a golden oak dresser. "It's too bad mom and dad couldn't be here."

Light rolled the last bag into the room and folded his arms uncomfortably, Light dropped his eyes to the floor and wrinkled his nose in annoyance. "You mean, it's too bad dad is a homophobe?"

Sayu hung her head slightly at Light's harsh tone. "Yes. It's too bad."

Both heads turned when shouting was heard from the foyer. "Sir! You cannot come into Master L's home with a lit cigarette!"

"Calm your fucking tits, have you even seen a lit cigarette? My shit ain't lit. It's just in my mouth because I know im going to need it nearly as soon as I set my fucking bags down." A ravened man walked past Light who grimaced at the other's presence, an unlit cigarette haphazardly hanging from his lips.

Sayu chuckled under her breath. "Oh, to be as free as him. So, that's L's brother?" Light nodded as he stepped into Sayu's temporary room. "Too bad, kind of cute."

Light widened his eyes and shushed his sister. "Are you insane? Trust me, he's trouble. Do not get involved with that!" The brunette pointed at the doorway with every word to accentuate the importance. Sayu smirked at the raven leaning the doorway and motioned towards the door with her eyes. "What?" Light turned around to make eye contact with a mischievous smirk from Beyond.

"Oh. Come on. Surely, I'm not that bad?" Beyond chuckled as Light scoffed loudly and left the room. His scarlet gaze fell back onto Sayu as he winked while bouncing off the doorframe to retreat back to his room. "You're not hard on the eyes either."

Sayu blushed brightly and continued putting her clothing away into the drawers. 'Okay, okay. So, he's cute. Big deal. You're visiting your brother for the holidays, not trying to get laid.'

"Psst." Sayu followed the sound towards the hallway only to have a joint handed to her. "Come smoke with me, this is about to be as boring as my life gets, staying here, I mean, I don't know about you yet." She eyed the small wrapped cylinder before lifting her eyes to see Beyond inspecting his nails. "Don't tell me you're as lame as your brother. I can only handle two duds at a time."

Sayu chuckled quietly and followed Beyond through his room and onto the balcony. "I've never smoked before. But, when in Rome… Or, well, London, I guess."

The raven's shoulders lifted slightly in quiet laughter. "Seriously? So you are a dud."

"Hey! Nu-uh! I'm out here aren't I!?"

Beyond bobbed his head back and forth while taking a long drag off the cylinder. "Yeah, alright. I'll give you credit there." He handed the object to her and reached inside the door and grabbed a bottle of water. He smirked at her as he took a small drink, before he quickly took the cigarette-like item from her as she started coughing. "Ahh, virgin lungs, so precious. Here." Handing Sayu the water, he winked at her as he took another hit.

Sayu quickly drank down some water in an attempt to soothe her throat from the burning and itching. "What is that?"

Raising an eyebrow Beyond chuckled. "Uh. Weed? Nothing suspicious about it. Just… regular…" His voice was interrupted by L clearing his throat with the door open. "What?! Don't look at me like that! This should come as no surprise to you! You know damn well I smoke."

Sayu sheepishly waved at L who seemed to send a disapproving glare her way. "Hi, L, I knew you had a brother, but I never met him before. So, I figured I'd come to get to know him."

"Uh huh, and nothing else, just a friendly chat?"

She shrugged and leaned against the railing. "Should there be more? I mean, I just figured I could get to know my in-laws a little better. You're so secretive that I didn't even know you had a brother until a couple of years ago."

Beyond placed a hand over his heart and faux pouted. "Are you ashamed of me?"

L narrowed his eyes and started shutting the door. "Yes."

Smirking at the older brother, Beyond waved as he took another drag off the cylinder. "So heartless." His eyes drifted towards Sayu with a playful smirk. "Wanna'nother hit?" He held the joint out to her direction. She smirked and took it from him. "Oh, you're fun, I like you."

Attempting to hand the remainder of the substance back to Beyond he waved in front of him. "Just kill it. I'll roll another."

Sayu narrowed her eyes in thought as she lifted the item back to her lips as Beyond rummaged through his bags. "Weed isn't legal in Japan."

Beyond groaned. "A tragedy." He drifted his eyes to her and smirked. "Perfectly fine in the states. You should come visit some time."

Putting the burning end out in a small pile of snow on the railing, she chuckled. "Yeah? I don't know anyone in the states."

Gasping in faux hurt Beyond smirked. "Sure you do. You're dear, normally high, co-brother-in-law." He chuckled and sealed the new cylinder. "So, you've never been to the United States?"

Sayu leaned against the open balcony door and shrugged. "Once on a school trip. So they could teach us the evils of the west." She shook her head in mock dubiousness. Beyond released a loud laugh as he handed her an unlit cigarette before he started rolling another. "Two?"

He chuckled as he efficiently rolled the second. "I'm good at sharing if the vibe is right. You're chill enough." She stood outside glancing around before a lighter lit in front of her, startling her from her musings. Her eyes lifted from the flame and into piercing scarlet eyes, she felt a slight stir in her chest upon making eye contact. "May as well live it up while you can. Fucking illegal in your country. The audacity." She chuckled while lighting her joint.

Light tapped his fingers impatiently on the desk as L stepped into their bedroom. "Did she immediately go and talk to him?"

L chuckled under his breath. "You know she did."

Rubbing his forehead with the balls of his fingertips in vexation. "He's a bad influence. I don't want him near her."

L sighed as he folded a couple of towels. "Right. And telling your adult sister to stay away from someone is going to work. Would you say I'm a bad influence? I think your father would. You can't protect her from everything. Besides, after the holidays they'll go to opposite countries. It's fine."

"You are not a bad influence. Your drug dealing, sex addict brother is."

Furrowing his brow before L smirked and stared at Light. "He's not an addict." Light threw his hands up and scoffed. L chuckled as he continued to fold laundry. "I think it's nice they get along. It could be worse. They could hate each other."

Sayu giggled which caused her to snort, which only led her to laugh harder. Which coaxed a laugh out of Beyond. He leaned his head against the end of the bed and chuckled as they threw more Cheetos in between them. "Who knew Light's sister was rad." She let out another deep laugh as a Cheetos landed in her shirt. "Finally! Score!"

"Were you aiming for the inside of my shirt!?" Beyond began laughing hard enough to not be heard any longer, only airy gasps could be detected while nodding. Fishing the cheese coated chip from her bra she scoffed before eating it.

"Hey, at least you have something for me to aim at." Sayu narrowed her eyes playfully and pulled her sweater shut over her cleavage. Beyond pouted while groaning. "Aww, don't hide them, they're great!"

Sayu giggled again as the door opened as a stiff man in a suit stared at the couple on the floor. "Dinner is served. Both of your presences are requested."

Sayu made a playful fish face while using her hands as gills, causing the raven to laugh loudly. "I'm so screwed. He's gonna ream me."

Beyond settled his laughter while glancing down to his feet before shifting his eyes up to her from behind ashen bangs. "We could just blow them off and sneak out the window."

Sayu bobbed her head back and forth as she stood, running her hands through her chestnut hair. "We could, but I feel like the repercussions would be deeper." She smirked and held her hand out for the raven to be hoisted up.

"Ha! I'll show you deep." He smirked up at her before releasing a sobering sigh. Alright." He clasped his hand with hers as they both struggled to get him off the floor while snickering the whole time. He smirked deviously, yanking her forward and off balance. Squeaking as she fell landing in the raven's lap. "Huh… that didn't work." The raven's voice muffled,

Sayu blushed brightly upon realizing Beyond's face was buried in her cleavage and she had landed perfectly into his lap. "Oh!"

The raven snapped his head backwards and took a deep breath. "That backfired in the best way. Don't move, there are only a couple ways I'd like to die, this is one of them." His scarlet eyes landed on a figure in the doorway. "Uh-oh, busted."

L stood in the doorway with an amused smirk. "I'll tell Light you're both tired."

Beyond chuckled and helped Sayu off him and stood up. "Nah. I like ruining his day." L sighed heavily and turned to pace down the hallway towards the stairs.

Light's jaw tightened as Sayu and Beyond came down from the second level and walked into the grand dining room closely together. "Did you grow up here too?" Beyond nodded with a smirk on his face. "What went wrong with you?" The raven chuckled while pulling a chair up and flopping into it haphazardly.

L gave Beyond a disapproving glance before opening his mouth to speak, only to be interrupted by Light. "Having a good time, Beyond?"

The pristine white cloth under the silver plate seemed to shift as Beyond poked at his food absentmindedly. "I could ask you the same. However, yes, I am. Your sister is cooler than you."

Sayu cleared her throat to attempt to cut through the tension. Narrowing his golden eyes towards his sister who meekly tucked her chin down and quietly pushed her food around. "You can't be serious? Light, leave him alone, he hasn't done anything."

"Sayu. You don't understand."

She slammed her hands on the table before smiling politely at L. "Thank you for the invitation, but my appetite is spoiled." Her stare hardened and landed on her brother across from the table from her. "Light. Has it occurred to you that I am twenty years old? Even once? I'm not a little kid and I'm tired of being treated like one. You know why I sought Beyond out? Because you explicitly told me not to. And, the last couple of hours have been the most fun I've ever had."

"Are you high?" Light rose from his chair and took a deep breath. "What would mother say if she saw you right now?"

Her stare intensified as she stood from the table as well, challenging his authority. Her eyes shifted towards Beyond who had his arms folded over his chest while watching her with an amused smirk. "What would dear old dad say about you? Stop living what they want! I want to be me! I don't want to go to college, I don't care what job I have, I don't even care how much money I have, just so long as I have enough to pay my bills, eat delicious food and a little left over to save up for whatever my impulses want at the time!" She stepped away from her place setting. "Starting now. I want whatever my impulses want."

She took a couple of determined steps towards Beyond, grabbed the sides of his face and landed a forceful kiss on his lips before parting the embrace and flipping her brother off as she stormed upstairs. "Fuck you!"

L's paled expression met an equally surprised face that Beyond's features had formed. "I swear all we did was smoke. I didn't give her anything."

L nodded and sighed. "I believe you. But, maybe it's best if we all retired for the night. Clearly some of us are worked up."

Beyond stood ducking quickly from a sharp left swing from Light. "Yeah. Don't do that again if you fancy that arm." L nodded and led Light away from Beyond who only glanced up to the second story.

Sayu flinched slightly when a knock was heard on her door. "I said fuck off, Light!"

"Uh, definitely not Light, but if you want me to fuck off I will."

Sayu creaked her door open and peeked outside before opening the door the rest of the way to let Beyond in her room. "I can't believe I did that… does weed do that to you?"

Beyond let out a nervous laugh as he sat on the bed. "Uh, no. Generally it has the opposite effect. So. I'm gonna head into the city, way too early to be calling it a night."

Sayu rubbed her biceps nervously. "I'm sorry I kissed you. I just knew if anything was going to get under his skin at that moment it was that."

"Aha, oh, that did not bother me. I could think of a couple of things that would make his blood boil into popping his head off. I just wanted to make sure you were fine. I'm not trying to drug you and take off without at least making sure you're fine." He lifted himself from the bed and started for the door before having the sleeve of his black shirt caught. "You good?"

Sayu nodded apprehensively before shyly requesting. "Can I come with you? I meant what I said earlier. I've had so much fun today."

"Hell yeah, let's go."
