On christmas eve after their cooked dinner they go to the living room, thinking about a movie to watch. "Mh how about Kevin alone at home?" Blaine proposes and surprises Kurt "You don't like christmas movies". "But it was your moms favorite right?" the curly haired man asks. "Second favorite. Her all time favorite was a christmas carol" Kurt corrects with a soft smile. He loves that Blaine remembers.

"Okay. Then we watch that one" the older says. "Blaine you don't have-" Kurt starts but Blaine doesn't let him finish "I want to Kurt. Your mom was important to you and she loved christmas so let's honor her". "You're the best. Thank you" Kurt says with a wide smile and his eyes tearing up.

Immediatly Blaine hugs him and holds him tightly "Of course. For you always. Now please let there be no tears because else I might start crying too". "No promises" Kurt answers but he laughs and leans back just enough to kiss his boyfriend and letting his boyfriend kiss back. Then both sit back and Kurt starts the movie.

Only a few tears escape Kurts eyes that evening and they had a wonderful time. Around midnight they go to bed but stay awake a little longer and talk about everything and nothing, cuddling and eventually falling asleep.

Blaine wakes up in the middle of the night and Kurt with him. "Are you okay?" Kurt asks. Blaine's breathing heavily but answers "I'm fine. Bad dream". "Do you want to talk?" the younger man offers but shakes his head "Let's just go back to sleep again". He sounds a little cold but it's the middle of the night and Kurt is somewhere between awake and sleep drunken. That's why both men just lay down again and Kurt falls back asleep within seconds while Blaine stays awake longer, lost in his thoughts, in the past, in his memory.

The next morning Kurt wakes up before Blaine and decides to stand up and prepare breakfast for them both. Coffee and a table full with everything you can wish for for breakfast. Or maybe that looks too much like a christmas mornign breakfast? Too festive and too much holidays? No it looks like a lovely breakfast. It's not too much.

Blaine looks grumpy when he comes to the kitchen. He takes a coffee and mumbles good morning before he goes back to the bedroom. He picks out some fresh clothes and brings the empty mug back to the kitchen before vanishing in the bathroom.

Kurt looks after him confused and slightly hurt. Then everything comes together in his head. Blaine doesn't like christmas for a reason. Blaine had a bad dream. Now he's in a bad mood. They definitly need to talk when Blaine comes out of the bathroom again.

"Do you want to eat something to eat" Kurt asks from the kitchen but the man answers "Not hungry". Oay not the best way to start this conversation. He hears how Blaine sits down on the couch and then it's silent. No tv, no music no nothing. He just sits there. Is he on the phone? Or maybe wearing headphones?

Krt lets it slide for now. He prepares some sandwiches just in case and keeps the coffee warm. Then he cleans the rest of the kitchen and puts everything else away. Maybe he simply needs to give Blaine some space so he stays in the kitchen and does the dishes, some plates, glasses and mugs.

There's a knock on the door frame to the open kitchen but having his hands wet and in the sink and with a plate in his hand Kurt doesn't turn around. It can't be anyone else than Blaine. Was it the right decision to give him space?

A moment later two arms wrap around him and he smells coffee and hair gel when Blaine hugs him from behind. "Sorry for being an ass" he mumbles and Kurt asks back "Do you want to talk about it?". "Not really. I just had a dream. About christmas with my family and my dad being more drunk than ever and I was just so angry so I didn't wanted to talk at night. But I could've said it in a nicer way. I didn't want to wake you up in first place" Blaine apologizes.

"I woke up in a bad mood. I'm just mad that my dad still has that much power over me somehow" he continues "But it wasn't right to be so moody to you. I didn't said hello properly, rejected your breakfast which looked awesome by the way and I didn't said another word. I just have a bad day today".

"It's okay to have a bad day. I understand. More than anyone you know that. I jsut want you to know that I'm here for you" Kurt says. The other man kisses his shoulder and mumbles "I know you are. Thank you". "Go back to the living room and put on some music. It's too quiet here. I'll be with you in a minute when I'm done here" the chestnut haired man says and the other one asks "Should I help you?". "No it's fine. I'm almost done" Kurt answers. Another kiss on the shoulder and the cheek and then Blaine leaves the kitchen again.

Kurt finishes the dishes and dries them off while the music starts playing from the stereo in the living room. Kurt takes his phone and asks his dad if they can reschedule their call to tomorrow and that he'll explain then. Then he puts the phone away again and takes the sandwiches he prepared as well as two mugs of coffee into his hands. Having worked at Lima Bean part time in high school and part time at the spotlight diner really comes in useful now.

He puts everything down on the living room table and sits down on the couch. "I figured you might be hungry at some point so I ate and made these for you and another cup of coffee for us" he says. Blaine looks stunned for a second before mumbling "Thank you" and pressing his lips on Kurts for the first time today. No. Don't feel bad because you haven't realyl kissed him today yet, Blaine thinks to himself. You explained to him and he understands. "You're welcome" Kurt answers with a smile.

He sits back with his coffee and his phone while Blaine finally eats breakfast. It's a little past 12. Burt answers that he's looking forward to tomorrow and Kurt an tell him details tomorrow if he feels comfortable in sharing them. Once Blaine finishes breakfast he leans back against Kurt "Thank you for putting up with my mood today". You were there for me so now I'm there for you. We both knew it wouldn't be easy. Christmas time or whatever we're trying here with the tiny tree and the cookies. We knew it wouldn't be easy for both of us. I told my dad I'll call him tomorrow and if you feel better tomorrow you can join us. He'd like to meet you" Kurt answers. He wraps an arm around Blaine and kisses him on the top of his head.

Blaine used to use way too much hair gel but then he noticed how much Kurt loves his curls so now he either uses less or non. Today he put in a little but only because he felt like he wants to control his curls when he can't even control his dreams. Kurt presses another kiss on them before he starts to play with the curls.

Although from time to time Blaines bad mood shows through they don't really talk about the cause of it. Each time the curly haired man snaps, gets annoyed or mad or even ignores Kurt so he doesn't react badly he ends up coming back to Kurt moments later to apologize. He apologizes with words or cuddles, hugs or other little gestures and kisses. Kurt isn't mad. He knows why Blaine has a bad day. He tries to support him as good as prossible and comforts him. He enjoys the affection Blaine gives him when they cuddle or something.

The day passes just like that and exhausted from the day Blaine falls asleep on the couch. They already changed into their pyjamas and got comfortable on the couch again with hot chocolate and cookies but the bed seems way more comfortable than the couch. Kurt wakes the sleeping man jsut enough to have him half awake and help him to the bed. They lay down again and Blaine cuddles close to his boyfriend before he's asleep again. Kurt smiles, kisses the top of Blaines head and closes his eyes too.

The next morning Blaine is the first one to wake up. He wants to make it up to Kurt for yesterday. He stands up, careful to not wake the other man up and tip toes to the kitchen. He prepares cereals and fruits the way he noticed Kurt eats them for breakfast. Some scrambled eggs for them both and sandwiches for him. He also makes coffee for them and puts everything on a tray to bring it to the bedroom.

He puts everything down on the side table and kneels on the bed to bend over his boyfriend. He strokes his hair softly "Kurt wake up" and presses a kiss to his cheek, nose and forehead. He kisses Kurt everywhere he can until Kurt opens his eyes and giggles "That tickles". Blaine was kissing him behind his ears and his breath tickeled the younger man.

"Good morning to you too" Blaine answers with a laugh. Kurt sits up and rubs his eyes "Morning". Blaine sits down next to him and puts the tray on the bed "I made us a little something. Or more you. To say sorry and to thank you again for yesterday". "I told you it's fine" Kurt says "But I also never say no to breakfast in bed". He grins and turns to kiss his boyfriend properly "Thanks. That's a very nice way to wake up". "I figured" the other man says and smiles into the next kiss. Then he sits down next to Kurt and they both start eating.

They stay in bed long that morning to eat, to cuddle and to talk: They talk a lot heart to heart about yesterday but alsoabout today when Burt calls and Blaine decides he wants to be there too. Meet the parents all over again. But it's fine Kurt reasures. Burt is a very nice man. Still Blaine is a little nervous when they sit in the living room and Kurt gets his laptop ready for a video call. Right in time Burt calls and his son accept.

"Hey dad" he greets and the other man answers "Hey son". "This is Blaine" Kurt immediatly introduces and the man shyly waves into the camers "Hello Mr Hummel"- "oh please call me Burt Blaine. Kurt told me a lot about you. How are you two?" the older man asks and Kurt answers "Fine. How are you?". He sees Blaines flushed cheeks and takes his hand in his, stroking over the soft skin with his thumb to ease him a little. The more they talk to Burt the more Blaine relaxes and opens up. Still Kurts hand never leaves Blaines and when they hang up Blaine feels comfortable saying "Bye Burt. Have a nice evening". They talked about one hour.

"Your father is nice" Blaine says and leans back on the couch. "The best" the other man says, leans back as well and cuddles against his boyfriend who wraps an arm around him and lets him rest his head on his chest. "Wanna watch a show and order food?" The older proposes and Kurt asks back "a marathon?". "Sure" he adds when Blaine nods. They order sushi and something for dessert. Once the food arrives they sit back and start a Brooklyn 99 marathon while eating.

"This Christmas was nice for an exchange don't you think?" Blaine asks in between two episodes. The other man nods smiling "I can live with Christmas again if it is like this". "Yeah me too" Blaine agrees and kisses his boyfriend.
