Hey everyone, just a quick update, I am not dead and I haven't dropped the story. I'd rather die than drop this. Lmaooooo. PART 3 is just taking longer than normal as it's a super important chapter for character development, it's already looking like it'll be one of the longest chapters yet. I have also started work on Book II.

also I'd like to thank everyone for their support, honestly 60 favorites and 100 follows is a lot more than I expected. It really helps motivate me to continue the story and helps me push through the endless struggle that is university and life. I'm especially gratefully for those who stuck around through book I, where Luke is at his PEAK cringe. I've always intended for Luke to be a very flawed person, so I hope I've been able to communicate that effectively.

There is also a period of time where I was prescribed the wrong ADHD medication which seriously hampered my abilities as a writer. You can actually tell when my prescription was corrected as the quality of writing jumps dramatically (I think it was between chapters 10 and 12). So I'll be crawling through those older chapters to refurbish.

I started this journey because I had essentially run out of AK fanfics to read. And As I'm not that talented as an artist, I said "Fck it, I'll write a story." I actually did not intend to make Grani such a central character to the story. She was meant to be a sort of Segway into meeting Skadi and the rest of Rhodes Island. But I quickly found myself falling in love with her character as I wrote her scenes. I thoroughly enjoy writing any scene with Grani in it, especially when it comes to her shenanigans with Luke.

As for harems, my editors are divided on the idea. Some of them are fiercely opposed to the idea as harems have a tendency to relegate the characters to fan service where the members don't really provide anything meaningful to the story. I am partial to this opinion, as I believe each character should have some greater meaning/contribution to the story. However, I also understand how lovable all the AK characters are and how much effort goes into crafting a single story about a single character. So I understand the tendency to want to group a bunch of characters into one story. So far, we've come to a sort of quasi-agreement: write a harem only if I can make each member's contribution a significant part of the story and not just fan service, which indirectly implies a small harem. Let me know what you think. I personally, am confident in my ability to go either way.

once again, we do have commissioned art of both Luke and Grani on our discord -- NTykyKzVDg

thank you! And happy holidays (since I don't really know when I'll get around to posting this)
