AN: Here is the next part.

A few days passed since the president made his statement about purebloods. Yagari, Toru, and Ryo managed to get their assignments without returning to the association. They were trying to keep Ryo's background a secret. Toru and Yagari also felt torn. They didn't like the vampires, but Ryo was their family and they loved him. If the association found out, they would both be killed. Yagari didn't like it, but he figured if he sent Toru and Ryo to his friend's school, they would be safe and no one would learn his secret. Little did Yagari know, that this move to the school would unleash a chain of events that would alter all their lives forever.

"Hey, you almost done packing?" A voice behind Ryo asked. The silverette turned to Toru, who grinned and leaned against the doorway's frame. His arms were crossed, as he gazed at his 'younger brother.'

"As done I can be," he whispered. He glanced at the wig beside his suitcase. "Do you think having the wig is necessary?" Toru pushed himself from the door frame and walked towards Ryo. He nodded, and Ryo immediately understood. Hunters did visit the school frequently to 'monitor' the vampires and make sure they were co-existing. They've never seen Ryo's real hair either. Only 3 others aside from Toru and Yagari have seen his silver strands.

First, it was a boy. Uchida Kenshin was a hunter in the same age category as Ryo and Toru. He was the same age as Toru and a good friend to them both. He also knew Ryo was a pureblood. He had black hair, and blue eyes, and was the same height as Toru.

The next one was a girl named Miyuu Ayaka, who was the same age as Ryo. Her brother was a hunter, but she wasn't. She went to school with Ryo, Toru, Kenshi, and her brother since they were all children. Ryo and Ayaka shared their first kiss when they were 12, but decided being friends was better than getting involved. They didn't want to lose the relationship they had if they ever broke up. She knew he was a vampire. She had long brown hair and friendly caramel-colored eyes.

Ayaka's brother, Hiroshi was the other who knew what Ryo looked like and he knew that Ryo was a pureblood. He was a year older than Kenshin and Toru. He was very close to them all and was extremely protective of Ayaka and Ryo. He vowed to hunt and kill anyone if they were ever harmed. He had brown hair, like his sister, but he had green eyes.

"It might be smart," a voice said behind Toru. Both boys looked at the door to see Hiroshi standing there with his sister and Kenshin behind them. "Yagari-sensei asked all 3 of us to enroll at Cross Academy as well. I believe for a protection detail." He ruffled Ryo's silver strands. "But the wig might be the best bet you got. And even though you're a vampire, you appear human and all of us are being put in the day class, which consists of all humans." He pulled out his phone and showed them both a picture of a girl with chocolate strands and eyes to match. "This is his adopted daughter, Yuuki. She was born a pureblood, but a spell was used and it turned her human."

Ryo looked at him, "Was it the same thing that happened to me or something different?"

"Different," Hiroshi said, placing his phone away. He crossed his arms. "She was forcible turned human, her vampire side is gone, yours is merely sealed."

"Who did such a terrible thing to her?" Ayaka voiced for the first time. Ryo placed a comforting arm around her and she put her head on his shoulder.

"A monster and pureblood named Rido Kuran," Hiroshi wrinkled his nose in dislike for that man. "I am still trying to figure out how he escaped and survived the attack against him 10 years ago. He is the only pureblood I want to kill." He turned to Ryo "Maybe he had something to do with your forgotten memories?" The teen appeared stunned for a moment.

All eyes landed on Hiroshi. "Are you sure, nii-san? Could Rido have that type of power to do that to someone?" Ayaka questioned him in a soft tone, as Ryo stared at him.

"All we know is someone was responsible for Ryo's not remembering anything before age 5 and Rido is not a nice individual," Hiroshi whispered. "The Academy we will all be attending has a few things you should be aware of. There is a pureblood called Kaname Kuran, who happens to be Rido's nephew. Rido killed Kaname's parents years ago, so they are not exactly on good terms. And that girl, Yuuki, is his younger sister."

"How do you think this Kaname is going to react to multiple hunters joining this Academy at once?" Ayaka crossed her arms, staring at Hiroshi.

"Hostile, but that's not a problem. I can handle a pureblood, regardless of his power," Hiroshi smirked. "He doesn't scare me, Aya-chan."

It was a few days later, as Yagari brought the group of teenagers to Cross Academy. The feeling of vampires made all the hunters wrinkle their noses. The only one not affected was Ayaka. Earlier that morning, the boys helped Ryo get his wig on, so it looked more natural. The door to the Sun Dorm, where all the Day class students stayed, opened, and standing there was Chairman Kaien Cross, and beside him was Yuuki. Ryo felt an odd tug, but he didn't react outwardly.

"Welcome to Cross Academy, everyone, Please come in," Kaien smiled at the group, and everyone followed him in. A few students were in the hallways and watched as the group came in.

"Oh my gosh, the boys are so cute."

"Ohh who is that cutie?"

"I want the girl!"

At that comment, Hiroshi turned and glared with anger at the boy who commented. The boy raised his hands in defense and backed away.

"Nii-san, don't start anything," Ayaka whispered, looking at the boy briefly and placing a hand on Hiroshi's arm. He turned away and smiled at his sister.

As they entered the office, they all stopped. Sitting in one of the chairs was the pureblood, Kaname Kuran. In a chair beside was another pureblood who seemed much older and more regal-like than Kaname. All the hunters recognized him as the pureblood, Toshiro. He was a fellow hunter. Yuuki closed the door behind her and sat in a chair. The teen boys sat on the couch and Ayaka sat in another chair. Yagari and Kaien were the only ones who remained standing.

"I didn't realize this is where you were stationed, Toshiro," Yagari grunted softly, as he eyed the pureblood cautiously.

Toshiro bristled at the words before he closed his eyes. "The safety of myself and my family is the top priority."

"Letting Zero be killed years ago doesn't add up to your statements," Yagari countered, giving him a look of disgust.

The pureblood was rigid as if he was struck and reopened his eyes. The swirling crimson color was terrifying, as the younger hunters and Ayaka gulped in fear. "Mention my son again and you'll lose your other eye, Toga-san!"

"Please stop antagonizing each other," Kaien stood between them. Yagari huffed as Toshiro closed his eyes. Kaien turned his eyes to the teens and smiled. "I believe introductions are in order. First, though the reason that Kaname and Toshiro are here is so they can tell the other vampires to leave you be and you do not threaten them with your weapons." Then he looked at Ayaka. "But you're not a hunter."

"No sir, but Hiroshi is one and he is my older brother," Ayaka whispered. "Since our parents aren't around, we stick together." Hiroshi only nodded, placing a hand on her arm.

Toshiro looked at Ryo and the teen felt uncomfortable under the stare. "You must be Yagari's adopted son, Ryo, correct?" He only nodded to Toshiro. "I've seen you a few times around the association, but I never talked to you before." The top of Ryo's jacket slid down a bit and he caught a small glance of the mark. "Now why does a hunter have a hunter mark on his neck?"

Ryo stiffened, as Toru leaned forward, "It's a tattoo, sir. It's a fashion statement"

"Hmmm," was all Toshiro mused, as Ryo and him made direct eye contact. The hurt and sadness were clear in Ryo's eyes and he immediately felt sorry.

"Before we forget, this is Uchida Kenshin, Toga Toru and Ryo. And then this is Miyuu Ayaka and Hiroshi." As Kaien said the names they bowed to the purebloods respectively.

Kaname, who had yet to say a word, stared at Ryo. The two made eye contact and he swore he had seen the same look years ago. It was the look Zero had given him. The others noticed the two were staring at one another for a long while.

"Nii-san," Yuuki's voice caught Kaname's attention. "Are you okay?" He nodded, as Ryo looked down. He looked at Ryo again, before he stood.

"I believe I should go and tell the others not to interfere without any of them," Kaname voiced softly. Kiaen nodded, as the graceful pureblood disappeared.

"I do have something to say," Toshiro stated once Kaname was gone. "I have two children in the night class named Ichiru and Kaiya. They are also hunters, so you may know them."

"We do sir," Kenshin spoke up. "Hiroshi, Toru, and I trained with them. Ryo was trained by us and Yagari."

"What makes you special, Ryo?" Toshiro crossed his arms, looking at the teen. He hadn't said a word yet and Toshiro was interested in him.

"Stop antagonizing my son, Toshiro," Yagari butted in. "He joined the family at a very young age and he didn't like being around a lot of people at first. We slowly got him used to others but trained him at the same time. I wasn't about to force him to be around people if he wasn't ready."

"My brother doesn't talk much at all unless he is comfortable around you," Toru smiled, trying to ease the tension. Toshiro nodded his eyes lingering in Ryo.

"Why are you so interested in me?" Ryo was frowning at Toshiro, as the two made eye contact. Ryp's tone was soft and very low, but with his superb hearing, Toshiro heard it. "You're a pureblood vampire, what business do you have with human teenagers?"

Hiroshi placed a hand on him. "Calm down, he was only asking questions."

"Yeah personal ones, about me. Sorry to burst your bubble, Toshiro, but no vampire will ever question me regardless who they are," Ryo got to his feet, as Toshiro did. Yagari got in front of Ryo, as Kaien was in front of Toshiro.

"Enough, Ryo, control yourself," Yagari grunted, as the teen looked down trying to quell his anger.

"Maybe you should return to the Moon Dorm for now," Kaien suggested to Toshiro.

"Actually, I'd like for him to remain," Yagari interjected. He glanced at Yuuki. "Can you show them to their rooms? I need to speak to both the Chairman and Toshiro. Just the three of us." Toshiro raised a brow as he sat back down, and Yuuki looked at Kaien, who only nodded quietly.

After a few minutes, the three were alone and Yagari could feel their eyes on him. "What is going on, Yagari? You asked for both of us to stay." Kaien was concerned about what was going on.

"There is no easy way to say this, but here it goes. Zero is not dead and I know where he is."Yagari watched as two pairs of eyes widened, one pair in shock and one pair in anger.

AN: I thought long and hard about where I was going to end this. It has been on my mind for a while now and I finally got time to get to it. With the holidays around the corner, I believe it's safe to say I will not update this story until after the first of the year. I have the story's main plots done. The only thing I'm working on is the 'ending.' It's nearly done and then I will be able to update regularly.
