Ch3- The Scorpion and The Wang
One month after the Collision with the Shadow Realm, Hanzo Hasashi and his chujin Takeda Takahashi stand outside the Fire Gardens patiently waiting for their invited guest.
Hanzo: How far out is he?
Kung Jin then smiles as he hears the sound of a car driving down the dirt road. "Not far at all.", the telepathic ninja replies to his master. Both of them turn to the left to see a Nissan Fairlady Z rolling toward them, as the car gets closer the song "You Got The Touch" by Stan Bush blares through the speakers. The car parks right in front of them and out steps a bald, black armored, sunglasses wearing Lo Wang.
Lo Wang: Who wants some Wang?
The two Shirai Ryu exchange looks of disgust with another but then quickly turn to Lo Wang to greet him. Both Lo Wang and the Shirai Ryu are both known by reputation, Lo Wang learned about the story of the Shirai Ryu massacre when he was under Master Leap's tutelage. Hanzo also knows about Lo Wang for being one of the most elite assassin's in Japan, although Hanzo never understood this was possible.
Hanzo: Greetings Lo Wang. I am Hanzo Hasashi, Grandmaster of the Shirai Ryu and I welcome you the Fire Garden.
Lo Wang: I know who you are! Any ninja worth their salt knows your story! Who's the kid?
Takeda: I'm Takeda Takashi.
Hanzo: He is my Chujin. You are no doubt familiar with his father, Kenshi Takahashi.
Lo Wang: Ohhhh, keeping things in house. I'm sure the Thunder God and GI Jane really appreciate that!
Lo Wang lets out a small chuckle and has a big smile on his face. The two ninjas look at each other with disgust until Hanzo says, "Please follow me… We have much to discuss!". The trio of ninjas walk into the compound together and Lo Wang takes off sunglasses as he looks on like a kid in a candy shop. Wang watches as ninjas train the court yard fencing or practicing hit their rope spear's on a target. Lo Wang says out loud.
Lo Wang: This is incredible!
Hanzo: It took me quite sometime to rebuild my clan after the massacre Quan Chi unleashed upon it. With help from the Shaolin, the Arashikage, and even our old rivals the Lin Kuei the flame has been reignited!
Lo Wang: You guys hiring? Not me obviously, I'm the Tom Brady of ninjas! I just know a town or, three that could use some serious ninja training.
Hanzo: That is why we have called upon you.
Wang, Takeda, and Hanzo have arrived at the door of Hanzo's personal dojo. The former assassin of Hell opens the door letting his guest and Chujin enter the dojo. Within the center of the room sits a small table and on the table is a teapot along side three teacups.
Lo Wang: Tea party for me! Scorpy you really know how to make a girl feel appreciated!
Hanzo: Please, call me Hanzo. I do not relish my days as Scorpion...
Lo Wang: Oh... Yeah man, my bad. Me and my big mouth right?
Lo Wang walks over to the table sitting down with his legs crossed under him. Hanzo and Takeda sit on the opposite side, Hanzo pours the three of them tea and they begin to converse about the state of Japan post Collision.
Hanzo: Before we begin, I must ask how is Dragon Mountain since the Collision?
Lo Wang: I mean, about as good the town can. My place in Akibari Heights was totaled but I'm fortunate in that a lot of belongings are in a literal man cave! The Yakuza have risen up and are helping the people where the government falls off, I know SHOCKER!
Takeda: I'm sorry about your home.
Lo Wang: Yeah… It's tough, I wasn't exactly thrilled when I found out my insurance doesn't cover being ground zero for demonic invasion. But that's why I am very frugal, to quote the great masters of the Wu Tang, "Cash Rules Everything Around Me".
Hanzo: Let's keep the conversation relevant Lo Wang.
Lo Wang: Yes, well I mean you know the deal. The Japanese government and the UN is doing what they can to help but it's not the best relief effort. People have been evacuating to Tsushima, Korea, China, and wherever else they'll be taken. As for the demon hunting well not to brag but I like to think I've been leading the charge. All these soldiers, ninjas clans, government agencies, mercanaries and superheroes are all good but they don't wield…
Lo Wang pulls the Nobitsura Kage out from its sheath and finishes his thought by saying, "This bad boy!". Hanzo turns to his apprentice trying to resit the urge to roll his eyes. Takeda then tells his master telepathically. "Just ask him nicely and he'll be out of here in no time...".
Hanzo: Yes well, Takeda and I have been out in the Japanese country side hunting demons as well. They are everywhere and it will be sometime before we are able to reclaim the land.
Takeda: My father is actually out right now leading a hunting part in Osaka.
Lo Wang: You should have lead with that! I've always wanted to work with a blind swordsman, when are we leaving? My car is a little snug so-
Hanzo: Enough!
The former Scorpion stands up scowling at Lo Wang but Wang is clueless. Hanzo looks down upon Wang furiously, his fist is clenched and his body is tight. Hanzo can no longer hide his contempt for Lo Wang.
Hanzo: During my time as Quan Chi's assassin, I spent centuries pillaging and plundering worlds looking for anything that could give Shinnok an edge. Quan Chi sent me to the Shadow to look for the Nobitsura Kage many times over the years… That blade in the wrong hands-
Lo Wang: These aren't the wrong hands! These hands saved the entire planet!
Takeda: We understand but-
Hanzo: I WILL NOT ASK AGAIN! YOU WILL HAND OVER THE NOBITSURA KAGE OR ELSE!
Lo Wang looks on at Scorpion confused, he shakes his head at Hanzo but all that Hanzo does is take a few steps back. Suddenly Lo Wang feels a chill down his back and can see his breath.
Lo Wang: I'm sorry or you guys cold or-
Crashing through the paper thin walls is a blue clad ninja. The ninja has black hair and beard with a scar on his left eye, this is Kuai Liang the Grandmaster of the Lin Kuei better known as Sub Zero. The back of Wang's head is now in the palm of Sub Zero's icy hand, the cryomancer slams Wang into the table splitting in two and breaking his sunglasses in half. Takeda and Hanzo now standing over them.
Sub Zero: You should have given the blade of your own accord, now we must take it.
Lo Wang: There's a saying really popular in America, something along the lines of "taking from cold dead hands" but that would mean taking something from you!
Lo Wang forces himself back up and grabs Sub Zero and looks down on his belt. Lo Wang says out loud, "What good ninja doesn't have a smoke bomb!?" but he's then interrupted by Hanzo shooting his rope spear and Takeda shooting his whips at Lo Wang's back. Lo Wang narrowly dodges the two ranged weapons by backflipping as he drops Sub Zero and jumps over the other two ninja.
Lo Wang: Listen love to stay and chat but I gotta-
Sub Zero then shoots a ball of pure ice at Wang but it's the wall to his left by mistake. Lo Wang using the Nobitsura Kage throws Chi Blasts at them before he runs down the hall but the blasts are intercepted by an ice wall created by Kuai Liang.
Hanzo: Takeda, alert everyone in the gardens! I want everyone on top of him immediately! Hellblazer, where are you?
A voice with a cockney accent can be heard from where Sub Zero broke through telling Hanzo, "Getting some spells in order incase that wanker tried anything." and out from the hole in the wall steps John Constantine. Meanwhile down the hall Lo Wang continues to run when he hears telepathically "STOP LO WANG AT ALL COSTS! HE HAS THE NOBITSUR KAGE!". A group of ninja see Lo Wang running down the hallway and immediately run after him.
Lo Wang: Since when were you guys a hivemind?!
Wang throws some shuriken down the hall as it hits few of the Shirai Ryu causing some of the ninja to fall back. Lo Wang keeps running but he almost a falls as demon from the ground has grabbed his boot. Suddenly the ground beneath Lo Wang lights up into the shape of a pentagram and more demons grand on Lo Wang's legs and he slowly begins to descend. The rest of the ninja begin to catch up with him and behind them the sound of slow clapping can be heard as John Constantine makes his way toward Lo Wang.
Constantine: I wouldn't recommend struggling. The more you struggle the quicker you'll descend into Hell and we don't want that now do we?
Wang and Constantine now stand face to face with more Shirai Ryu surrounding him.
Lo Wang: If it isn't everyone's least favorite depressed sorcerer! What brings you here?
Constantine: With all these demons running around, someone has to do all the exorcising. Plus Hanzo and I go way back… Hand over the sword Wang and I promise I'll make sure those demons don't drag you any deeper.
Lo Wang looks down to see he's gradually descending into Hell. Wang looks back up at Constantine smirking telling him, "When your country is ground zero for demonic apocalypse… Well let's just say I might've converted!". Without hesitation Wang grabs a small bottle of holy water from his belt and pours it on the demons trying to pull him down. The demons let out blood curdling screams as their skin sizzles, as the let go Lo Wang is able to find leverage to jump and the pentagram closes. The chase begins again, Wang finds himself in the courtyard only to be ambushed by Hanzo and Takeda yet again. Hanzo violently swings his katana while Takeda tries to wrangle in Lo Wang with his whips.
Hanzo: THAT BLADE WAS NOT FOR FOOLS LIKE YOU!
Lo Wang: This sword is from a friend who's no longer with us!
A familiar voice then tells Wang "And it wasn't meant for you!". Lo Wang turns to see his now dead friend Hoji. Wang looks on amazed but also horrified, he puts his hand on the demonic god's shoulder to see if he really there. Much to his surprise he's physically there.
Lo Wang: HOJI?! But, how did- WAIT
Wang pops a shot from below the hip with his revolver revealing now that this was a telepathic illusion created Takeda. The telepathic ninja holds his side as he's not bullet proof, he uses his powers to pull the bullet out from his side and then sends the bullet hurdling right back at Lo Wang only for it to be split into by the Nobitsura Kage.
Takeda: You asshole!
Lo Wang: Oh relax, once I figured it was an illusion I wasn't going to kill the mutant kid. Pretty sure that's a hate crime now.
Takeda: I'm- not a- mutant!
Takeda Takahashi can barely talk a winces through the pain, Lo Wang takes this as opportunity to leave but only for him to turn around he sees Hanzo and Sub Zero standing side by side. Lo Wang looks around to see countless ninja practically lining up to take him out. Constantine sneaks up behind Takeda, he puts his hand on his side healing the young telepath. Lo Wang is surrounded by those he thought would be considered his peers.
Hanzo: There's nowhere to run Lo Wang, give us the Nobitsura Kage and this all ends!
Lo Wang takes one last look around at all those encircling him, he then turns to the front gate to see his parked car. Wang smiles from ear to ear before telling Hanzo, "Nah I'll hold onto it a bit longer Scorpy!". Lo Wang grabs two frag grenades throwing to his left and right causing ninja to scatter. Lo Wang puts all his chi into shoulder checking both Hanzo and Kuai Liang casting them both aside. Lo Wang runs out of the gate and slides on the hood of his car to the driver side, he couldn't open the door fast enough. Ninja begin to shoot arrows along with throwing daggers and shuriken at the car. Lo Wang stars his car up and he smiles at the sound of the engine starting.
Lo Wang: Oh I'm about to make Smith a very rich man!
As he drives off Takeda is able to wrap his whips around the bumper of Lo Wang's car trying his best to pull the car, Sub Zero comes and even begins to freeze the ground around the car. Lo Wang curses at them, "DO YOU NOT FUCKING UNDERSTAND NO?! IT'S PRETTY FUCKIN' SIMPLE!". Wang begins rummage throw his stuff when smiles to himself, "Oh you're in deep shit now…".
Hanzo Hasashi and John Constantine are the next out of the gate along with all the ninja behind them. Constantine begins to prepare another spell to immobilize Lo Wang's car.
Constantine: What do you think, drop his engine in the Marianna's Trench or the Sea of Blood?
Suddenly Lo Wang pops his head out with a flame thrower in his hand and he starts singing the lyrics of "Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash.
Lo Wang: I FELL INTO A BURNIN' RING OF FIRE!
Wang shoots some of the flames at Takeda and Sub Zero and then quickly starts spraying the icy ground melting it a way. Before anyone else react he floors it driving away. Constantine, Takeda, Hanzo begin to run after the car and Kuai Liang even creates an ice bridge from him to slide on. Lo Wang looks in his rearview mirror to see them still running after him.
Lo Wang: Oh you've gotta be fuckin'-
When suddenly almost as if the universe was listening to him a small pack of Yokai attack on the Shirai Ryu and their allies. Lo Wang laughs hysterically telling himself, "Serves them right…". When suddenly in a gust of fire, Hanzo Hasashi stands on the hood of the truck as Lo Wang drives.
Lo Wang: Tell you what, I'll give you my credit card information huh? You like Netflix?
Hanzo plunges his katana into the windshield of the car, Lo Wang is swerving trying his best to get Hanzo to fall off. Lo Wang quickly grabs his revolver shooting Hanzo directly through the chest, Hanzo falls off the vehicle and rolling into a pasture. Lo Wang looks into his rearview mirror and flipping the bird at Hanzo's body.
Lo Wang: Enjoy round two of death Scorpy! I'm sure I'll see in Hell!
Meanwhile in the pasture as Hanzo bleeds out, Kuai Liang descends on his ally with an ice bridge alongside Takeda Takahashi and John Constantine right next to them using a transparent platform to levitate on. Takeda connects his mind to ease the pain while Constantine uses the same healing spell to help Hanzo.
Hanzo: Thank you Hellblazer. And thank you Kuai Liang and Takeda.
Takeda: We failed, we didn't get the sword. You said he was a moron? He wiped the floor with us!
Sub Zero: We should go into Dragon Mountain with all our might and-
Constantine: Seize an entire town? Are you mad?
With the help of Takeda pulling him up Hanzo gets back up on his feet. Hanzo tells the group, "John is right… We cannot just storm a village with an army. Lo Wang may keep the Nobitsura Kage for now…". The group then look out to see multiple Trolls and Oni from the Shadow watching from afar.
Hanzo: We will continue to assist Lo Wang in reducing the number of demons in the country and once we are done we will claim the sword.
Without hesitation Hanzo teleports to the unsuspecting monsters, Hanzo forms right behind them catching them by surprise. The monsters try to react but it's too late, Hanzo summons enough Hellfire to burn a village on the foul beasts burning them to ash, he looks off in the distance seeing Lo Wang's car driving down the road.
