Chapter Eight: When the Archangel's Come Out to Play

January 28th, 2018

The Bunker

Lebanon, Kansas

Midday/Evening

Since Elay had been staying with them, things had gotten… weird. Cas and Elay's relationship hadn't improved, and Lucifer preferred to spend his time away from his brother as well, going so far as to want to go on a hunt with Sam, who was so shocked at the suggestion, that he dropped the mug he was holding, sending hot coffee scalding down his leg, as Dean just laughed at the suggestion. In the end, it was Lucifer, Sam, and Crowley who went on a hunt, whilst the others stayed behind to work out their next move against the Rogues. Crowley, and Lucifer had managed to get enough intel on the base in Jersey, that they're starting to come up with a plan of attack. Castiel was pre-occupied building his garden, and had done so much in three days, that Dean had barely seen him. When the Hunter went to find his boyfriend, the Angel was on his hands and knees, planting more flowers, wearing his 'housework clothes', which consisted of a pair of old scrappy pants, and an old t-shirt, that still made him look amazing the way that it clung to his body. Dean sat down on the seat they had installed, and watched Cas, unabashedly staring at his Angel's ass, as Cas leaned over to pat some soil around more flowers. Elay had been working with Gabriel on trying to organise some of the forces of Heaven to help in the hunt against the Rogues, but Gabriel wasn't having any luck getting their brothers and sisters to listen to them. Elay had suggested going up to Heaven himself, but Gabriel reminded him of what that could do. Michael was the only other option, but they don't know where he is, or if he'd even be in the right mind to fight. Castiel stood up, and was brushing the dirt off his hands, when he turned and saw Dean watching him. Castiel moved over to the seat, and sat down beside his boyfriend, leaning his head on Dean's shoulder, as the Hunter lamented on how amazing the garden is looking, considering it's been three days. Cas just smiles to himself and asks Dean if they have a plan for finding the Rogues, to which the Hunter nods slightly, and talks about what Gabriel and Elay had been suggesting, including their idea to try and find Michael. Cas rolled his eyes, knowing that finding Michael wouldn't be a good idea. It's hard enough having Elay and Lucifer in the same place, but the three of them… they may as well just start the apocalypse. Back in the Bunker, Elay was working with Gabriel on some plans, using the blueprints that Crowley had retrieved of the location in Jersey where the Rogues apparently have their base. When Elay asked about the connection between Dean and Castiel, his brother smirked at him, before explaining what is going on.

Cas had returned inside to take a shower, and Dean had silently followed in the same direction as the Seraph, hoping that they could take the opportunity whilst Elay and Gabriel are distracted to have sex, because since Elay has been here, their sex life has taken a downturn. At first, Gabriel was just doing it to be annoying, but Elay seems to be taking every chance he can to disrupt them, and locking the door to his room doesn't even seem to do anything, because the Archangel just unlocks it from the outside, or he just flies into the room. Dean had almost shot the Archangel several times because he interrupted them, and threatened to stab him with the Archangel blade if they kept it up. Elay claims that he's looking out for Castiel, but Dean pointed out to his boyfriend, that he 'hardly knows the guy'. It's true. Elay has been on earth since it's creation, and he's never been fond of Castiel. That is why, when Elay somehow manages to stop Dean, just before he enters the bathroom, Castiel speaks something in Enochian, only to be silenced by Elay. Dean listened as the Angel asked if he could have his partner come and stay, as the danger surrounding them is great, and there is more protection here, to which Dean spent a moment gaping at the Archangel, before blurting out 'you're gay'. Elay smirked, and pulled up his sleeve slightly, showing Dean the same binding on his wrist that he shares with Castiel, informing both men that he is indeed 'gay', and married to a human. Still gaping, Dean is knocked out of his stupor by Elay repeating the question, and Dean just nodding. He hates to think that he has anything in common with any Angels (except Cas), but he can't deny that this is something major. Elay pats the Hunter's shoulder, smirking at the two of them, before walking off. Castiel was already halfway done with the shower when Dean joined him, wrapping his arms around the wet body of his Angel, resting his head on the shoulder, as the warm water just washed over the two of them. They stood there, just like that, until Dean asked about Elay and his partner, and Castiel asked him if he is okay with it. In answer to that stupid question, the Hunter pinned Castiel against the wall of the shower, and kissed him, hesitant to ask the question that he wanted too, but knowing that Castiel will answer because he's thinking the same thing. That Castiel is more like Elay, than any of the other Angels, and that is why there is so much clashing between the two of them. Because Elay knows of the struggles that Castiel will face, and he knows that it's going to be more difficult for him and Dean, especially because Castiel is a Seraph… and because he's the biggest target for the Rogues.

'So, do you know anything about Elay's partner?' Dean asked, as the two men dried themselves off

'He's a former Marine, fought in the war, and since then, he's been working at a local highschool near to where Elay lived. I believe that they've been together for about ten years,' Castiel said, pulling on his underwear, and then rubbing his hair with the towel

'Wow. Does he know… of the Supernatural?' Dean asked, because obviously he must know that Elay isn't technically human.

'Yes. He knows about Angels, and Demons. Heaven and Hell. He knows about Hunters. He's clued in Dean. He'll fight if we need him too,' Castiel said, misinterpreting Dean's meaning behind the question, quick to backtrack when Dean explained.

The Bunker

Lebanon, Kansas

Afternoon/Evening

Elijah Meyers is the human name that Elay uses on earth. He's quite proud of it, and it makes sense, because Eli and Elay aren't that separated. His husband's name is Sean Meyers. He arrives at the Bunker early on a Saturday afternoon, and Dean catches a glimpse of Elay kissing this man as a greeting, quickly turning his head away, to give them some privacy. When he had agreed to Sean coming to stay with them, he hadn't realised what that might entail. Sure, he's faced the fact that he loves Cas, and they're together now. But there is that part inside of him, the part that he hates, that just wants to supress it all, hide it from everyone, and seeing Sean and Elay so… open… it makes him mad at himself. He barely touches Cas when anyone else is around, including Sam and Mary. The introductions were made quickly, Sam was as shocked as Dean was to discover that Elay and Cas, and Sean and Dean share a lot more in common than they thought. Gabriel and Lucifer were already hip to all this knowledge so it doesn't really surprise them, although the Devil likes to throw out some one liners here and there, just to tease his brother whenever he can. Sean seems to know Lucifer… or at least… know of him… because he greets him like they're old friends. When it came time for Mary and Jack to meet the two, things became complicated. Jack is a Nephilim, born of Human and Lucifer… he's one of the most powerful beings in the world, and Elay can't seem to get a good enough read on him to decide if he's going to be good or evil. Dean will give Lucifer credit where it's due… he's at least trying to be somewhat of a father figure, teaching Jack how to channel some of his powers… but the Nephilim prefers Castiel to teach him things, and still refers to him as his father. When everyone was introduced, and Sean was settled, Mary decided that they're going to have dinner, and watch some movies. It's been quiet… probably too quiet for them to not be worried, because that means that something big is going to happen, and they shouldn't let their guards down, but Gabriel has insisted that he and Elay are 'keeping an ear on things' and will alert them the minute something goes ary. So, Dean feels that they can relax… just a little. Mary and Castiel cooked dinner, whilst the others set the tables in the library, enough for all of them to eat. Lucifer found the whole thing fascinating and spent most of the evening talking about the whole thing with Gabriel, both lamenting on 'humans and their quirks'. Every now and then, Elay would chime in with something, and it was relatively harmonious. Almost. Sean and Dean discovered as they were chatting over a beer whilst waiting for dinner, that they're a lot more alike in personality, than previously thought… something that worried the Hunter greatly.

Dinner was a grand affair. Really it was just chicken and vegetables, but Mary and Castiel did such an amazing job, that it really was grand. Everyone watched Lucifer as he ate the food, knowing that he really can't taste anything, but still managing to say something nice about the meal. Castiel was distracted for most of the night, and Dean noticed him rubbing the side of his forehead often, as if Angel Radio was plaguing his thoughts. But it didn't seem to be bothering the other Angels in the room, so it worried Dean. Worried him that something else might be happening in his boyfriend's mind. Sam seemed to have noticed this as well, sending a silent glance to Castiel, and to Dean, who just nodded to let his brother know that he knows, and he's on it. Gabriel was the next one to notice that Castiel was quiet, and the subtle rubbing of his temple didn't go unnoticed by the Archangel either. When everyone had finished dinner, Gabriel, Elay, Lucifer, and Castiel disappeared, leaving the others to clean up after dinner, and then for Jack to suggest a movie night, considering that they can't really do anything else at the moment, not until Crowley gets back to them with some more information, and a game plan, because they had left the King of Hell in charge of that, probably not the best idea, but Crowley is good a planning things like this, and if anyone knows how to hunt Rogue Angels, (besides the Angels), it's the demons. Sean and Dean were left alone in the Bunkers kitchen, putting the last of the dishes away, whilst Sean was talking about his job, and how interesting what they do is, and how he always thought about something like that, but never had the guts… Dean turned to him, told him that he should get out whilst he can, because once he's in… he can't get out. Sean frowned at him in confusion, asking Dean if that is what he wants… to get out. The Hunter didn't reply, just closing the last cupboard, before sighing, crossing his arms across his chest, whilst Sean just stared at him. It's not a weird stare, just a questioning one. Like he's trying to read Dean… but the eldest Winchester brother is good at hiding himself away… so no one can read him… and the only one who can, is Cas. Sometimes Sam… but mostly Cas. Dean knew the implication of the words he had spoken in that moment, telling Sean that he needed to get out… but it only hit him in that moment, what he had said, and what he had meant.

'Look, I'm just saying… this is a dangerous job. You don't live very long if you go down this road,' Dean said, turning to grab a beer from the fridge

'What are you afraid of Dean? You are in a relationship with Castiel, correct?' Sean asked, and Dean froze, bottle halfway to his mouth, staring at Sean.

'What does that have to do with anything? What does it have to do with you not becoming a Hunter?' Dean asked, watching the smirk appear on Sean's face, and wanting to punch it off.

'Dean, you don't have to be afraid to be with Castiel. I know that you are. I was at first. It's hard to be yourself around people, after pretending to be someone else for such a long time. But not being your true self… you're only hurting yourself… and Castiel. You two have a binding, just like Eli and me. Maybe whatever was wrong with Castiel tonight, had something to do with you…pushing him away…' Sean said, before leaving the kitchen, and Dean with his thoughts.

Sioux Falls Case

Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Afternoon/Evening

A case had taken them to South Dakota, and Jody had practically demanded that they stay with her, to save money on a motel. It was just Sam, Dean, and Cas, like the old times, and it was the best time. Castiel had been quiet on the way to Jody's house, but perked up when they got closer, and even more when he saw Claire. The blonde Huntress had come out to greet them, immediately hugging Castiel, and asking him how he's been going. Their conversation made both Sam and Dean smile, as the relationship between Claire and Castiel had been something of an interesting plight for a long time. Jody informed them that they're going to have a full house, but there is plenty of room for all of them. Sam offered to sleep on the floor, earning a whack to the back of the head from Jody, looking between her and Dean as the older Winchester brother just laughed, before he himself was whacked over the back of the head. Since Sean had accosted him in the Bunker kitchen, Dean had been trying to be more… himself. He knows who he is, and he's been trying to embrace it more. That afternoon, Sam and Dean had on their suits, and were going with Jody to the morgue to look at the victim, whilst Castiel and Claire were going to the crime scene to find some clues, the young woman excitedly talking about everything with Castiel, who was just enamoured by her. It had been his fault that Claire's life was so terrible, so if he can make it a little bit better… he'll do it. Sam, Dean, Jody, Claire, and Castiel were standing out the front of Jody's house, discussing what was going to happen, and Dean offered to drive them in the Impala. Agreeing, they all made their way over to the car, where Dean turned to kiss Cas, before getting in the driver's seat, a stupid smile on his face, matching the one that was on Cas', as Claire led him over to her car, teasing him about being kissed by Dean. Sam and Jody were doing the same thing to Dean all the way to the morgue, where Dean told them that he's trying to be 'more his true self', and Sam just hugged him, begging him to continue doing that… Jody pat his shoulder, agreeing, before three headed inside. Their case is taking them in all kinds of directions, but something is off about it. It's not a typical case, and it doesn't seem to be a witch, even though there was a hex bag. Dean had suggested calling Rowena, but Sam had given him a look, and Dean hadn't mentioned it again. When they were taken to the victim, there was an immediate understanding between the three Hunters, of what this was. Spirit Possession.

After finishing up at the morgue, Dean drove them back to Jody's, and Sam immediately went to hit the books. Dean checked his phone, noticing two missed calls from Claire, and one from Cas. Worried that something had happened, he checked the messages, but they didn't sound urgent, just Claire telling him that something was 'weird at the crime scene', and that she and Cas would bring lunch home. Cas' message was along the same lines, but he sounded… hurt. At two o'clock, Claire and Castiel entered the house, the blonde Huntress apologising for them being late, as she placed the bag of food on the table, turning to face the Winchester's and Jody, who had her arms crossed, and an annoyed look on her face. Claire shrugged, explaining that they got to the scene, and the cops were still there. She and Cas went in as FBI, but the locals didn't appreciate the Fed's snooping around, and they were delayed by trying to negotiate with the cops who didn't 'appreciate the outside help'. Jody rolled her eyes, muttering something under her breath, before Claire told them what they had found out. That the scene looked like a bomb sight. Both Dean and Sam were confused, but Claire went on to explain that it just looked like something either exploded, or the corpse was somehow blown up. Cas then chimed in, stating that he had a feeling that it was something to do with an angry spirit, but it wasn't a typical spirit… this one had some kind of power emanating from it… one that he could sense, but Claire couldn't. Something ticked over in Dean's mind, and he and Sam shared a look, a silent conversation, on the same wavelength as Castiel, who sighed and nodded. Rogue Angels. The spirit possession can't make bodies explode. It's not in the nature of the spirit. But an Angel who sacrifices themselves… that would cause a sight like the one that they saw at the crime scene. Their spirit's body had somehow gotten caught up in the explosion, so now they have two crime scenes, both connected. Claire begged Castiel to stop going after the Rogues, that it's not safe for them to be hunting the Rogue's right now, they should be focussing on the spirit. Cas handed Claire a gift bag, and smiled at her, thanking her for her concern, before leaving the room to answer his phone, ringing through the silence. Gabriel had found something strange in their researching of the Rogue's and Castiel informed them of the bomb site at their crime scene. Gabriel appeared suddenly in front of Castiel, asking him to take him to the scene, not giving the Seraph a chance, before the Archangel had flown them to the site of the explosion.

'Gabriel…'

'I know. I think we need to find Michael. He's the next best shot we have Cassie,' Gabriel said, as the two stood at the edge of the explosion site

'That would be a good idea Gabriel, but we have no idea where he is. Lucifer said that he's not in the cage anymore, he got out when Lucifer did. So where do we find him?' Castiel asked, arms crossed, sighing as he and Gabriel mourned the loss of one of their siblings

'I have a few leads on where he might be… but I need your help Cas. If Michael senses me, he will probably run, but he has a… ah… bone to pick with you so he might come if you call him,' Gabriel said, and Castiel rolled his eyes, nodding as Gabriel flew them back to Jody's.

Sioux Falls Case

Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Morning/Afternoon

The second day of their case didn't go any better than yesterday, but they did make some progress. Sam found out who the ghost (or spirit) was, and he and Claire began researching the woman, who was murdered in the town, and is now haunting it. Jody and Dean had gone to the police station to try and get some more information out of the local cops, given that Jody is the Sheriff of the county, and Dean's "FBI" status should be enough to get them the files. Gabriel and Castiel had stayed behind at Jody's, under the guise of doing some extra research (Dean was sceptical), but what they're really doing, is trying to locate Michael. Gabriel knows that he's on earth, but he's hidden himself from the Angels. However, he's hoping that if Castiel calls to him, Michael will come to them, because he has a bone to pick with the Seraph, and Castiel had made it known to Michael that he won't run. Provided the Archangel isn't aware of the Rogues and hasn't been tainted by them. Sam called at nine, to ask Cas to look something up for him, ignoring Gabriel's background protesting that they're doing something 'very important and world changing'. Castiel did the research for Sam, and asked him to keep them in the loop, before asking Gabriel to calm down. They have a job to do as well as trying to find Michael. So far, the Archangel hasn't bitten any of the bait that Castiel has put out. The only problem with trying to contact Michael, is that he also makes himself vulnerable to the Rogue's finding him, and he can't have that happening right now. If they're not in Sioux Falls, then they're probably close by. After the third time of non-contact with Michael, Gabriel called it a temporary suspension, and decided to go and help Dean and Jody with their jobs, appearing in the car behind the two Hunters, causing both to jump unexpectedly. Dean muttered some curse words, whilst Jody asked what he and Castiel had discovered about the crime scene. Gabriel was adamant that the bombing had nothing to do with their victim, that it was just a coincidence. Dean wasn't convinced, but kept his mouth shut until they go back to Jody's. Sam and Claire discovered something that helped their case progress, and hoofed it back to the house as well, with Claire telling Sam about her girlfriend, and teasing the taller man when he teased her about it. When they got back to the house, Lucifer and Jack were waiting at the door, the Nephilim politely waiting, arms by his sides, a small, content smile on his face, whilst Lucifer was pacing back and forth, expressing his disdain for having to wait, as Sam and Claire approached them. The blonde huntress sent a glare towards the Devil, before flicking Jack, who ran after her inside the house.

Dean had taken all the precautions of protecting Jody's house, using all kinds of warding to protect them. Gabriel explained to the group that he had had Castiel put his warding guard down temporarily, to try and locate Michael, without any luck. The argument between the Winchester's and the Angels ended with a bright burst of light, and then Elay appearing yelling at them all to 'stop arguing'. Having been keeping an eye on them from a distance, the arguing had started to grind on him. He stated that whilst they had been trying to locate Michael, he had been blocking the Rogue's signals, so that they couldn't track Castiel whilst he was unprotected. Gabriel explained that they hadn't had much luck anyway, but Elay told him to not give up, figuring that his brother will appear eventually, when he's ready. Right now, he's biding his time until he thinks they need him. Dean's scoff was drowned out by Jody announcing that she caught a lead on their spirit, and everyone went back to work mode, Lucifer, Gabriel, and Elay excusing themselves to return to the Bunker, to meet with Crowley. Castiel doesn't know if he really trusts his siblings, but he can't be bothered having another argument with Dean, who has been snapping at him a lot today. If he wasn't so sure that finding Michael would benefit them, he would think the entire thing was ridiculous. But he knows what he's doing, and he knows the risks, and he's sick of Sam and Dean treating him like he's porcelain, made of glass, easily breakable. For the first time in a long while, he doesn't feel useless. Claire was explaining something to them, and Cas offered to go along with her. The blonde young woman was excited to go to a crime scene with Castiel, because she has seen how the Winchesters are in the field, but she's never been in the field, alone, with Castiel. She's been trying to be more open to him, but it's difficult when he looks exactly like her father. Cas and Claire were preparing themselves to head out, when Dean entered the room that he and Cas were sharing, asking what the Angel was doing, and telling him that it's 'too dangerous for him to leave the house'. Sighing, and clenching his fists to hold back the anger, the Seraph told Dean through gritted teeth that he's fine. He's protected.

'Cas…'

'NO. For the first time in a long time Dean, I feel like I'm useful. Like I'm doing something, not just sitting on the sidelines. I know you're worried about me, I love you for that. But I can't sit in the house and do nothing,' Cas said, missing the inflection in Dean's eyes.

'You never have been, nor will you ever be useless Cas. Don't ever think that okay? Just… be careful and stick together. Please, just… please…' Dean said, and Cas pressed a soft kiss to his lips, smiling and leaving the room to meet up with Claire, who called out to the Angel.

'We'll be back in a few hours,' Dean heard Claire telling Jody, waving to the older Winchester brother as she and Cas headed out the door.

February 2nd, 2018

Sioux Falls Case

Sioux Falls, South Dakota/Bunker

Evening/Early Morning

It was almost midnight by the time Cas and Claire returned to the house. Dean had been in contact with the blonde huntress since Cas had called him to say that they're going to be running late. After that, he got worried that Cas hadn't called him again, only for Claire to call him moments later, and tell him that Cas's phone was flat, that they're fine, just out of cell range. It had worried Dean, but he accepted it, knowing that is happens sometimes. He was the first one to the door when it opened, and heard Cas and Claire arguing over something, only for the blonde huntress to storm through the house moments later, slamming her bedroom door closed behind her. Standing in the foyer, Cas looked defeated accepting the hug from Dean, burying his face in his boyfriend's neck. They didn't say anything for a while, until Sam reluctantly interrupted them, asking Cas what they had discovered about the family of the victim. Dean went to get ready for bed, leaving Cas and Sam talking for a minute. He had just climbed into the bed, when Cas entered the room, silently changing into sleep gear, before getting into the bed beside Dean, who immediately curled into him, asking Cas what happened with Claire that made her so mad. Cas didn't respond for a moment, then kissed Dean, before whispering that he 'tried to be something to Claire that he's not'. The room filled with silence again, and Dean just caressed Cas' cheek, as they both drifted off to sleep. The dream that Castiel had was either too real to be a dream, or it was some kind of message that Gabriel was sending to his subconscious, because it was very vivid. So vivid in fact, that it woke him up with a start, the Angel sitting up in bed, looking around the darkened room, expecting to see something nightmarish staring back at him. Castiel glanced over at the bedside table, noting the time was just after five am. Michael still hadn't bitten on any of the bait they had laid for him, and since the beginning of this entire thing, Castiel had been unsure that it was a good idea to continue trying to contact the Archangel. But Gabriel thinks there is something there… something to be said… so they will keep trying. In the darkness, Dean's cell phone rang, causing the Hunter to stir, grabbing the phone and muttering that he was going to 'kill whomever it was for calling so early', before sitting up, clearly something was going on. Cas waited until Dean hung up, before they both got up, and dressed, reluctantly heading out to wake the others. Once that was done (and Dean avoided Sam shooting him… but Claire almost decapitated him), they met in the living room, the sun not even up, five thirty on the clock, as Dean told them that there was another death.

The gang got their things together, and went to investigate the new body, whilst Castiel and Jack remained at Jody's house, to do some more research into what could be doing this, and to be backup if they needed it. Gabriel called Castiel, asking him if he's heard from Elay or Sean, to which the Seraph replied no, whilst shaking his head, even though Gabriel couldn't see him. Jack was typing something on the laptop, because Castiel, even after all these years, still isn't proficient in using the device, but Jack is, having picked it up quickly from Sam. The Nephilim smiled to himself when he accomplished something, and waited until Castiel had hung up the phone, before explaining what it was. During this time, Gabriel had been listening to the conversation that Lucifer and Elay had been having in the background, the three Angels had remained behind in the Bunker, working on the map that Castiel had started putting together when they were trying to locate the Called. Three Archangels should have been able to work this out, but Lucifer was distracted by something…constantly rubbing his head like he had a headache. Gabriel was frowning in confusion at his brother, who in turn, tried to summon Crowley because he needed a punching bag. Elay just laid a hand on his forehead, holding Lucifer in place when the Devil tried to run away, and listened to what was going on. Stepping back suddenly, Elay asked Lucifer to reply to the voice, thinking that it might be Michael, trying to get in touch with them via Lucifer. The Devil muttered something under his breath, then followed Gabriel and Elay outside, where they were out of range of the wardings, and closed his eyes, listening to the sound in his head, and calling it to come to him. Gabriel and Elay could sense the power that was flowing around them, both getting their Archangel blades out, so they can fight if they need too. Suddenly, there was a flash of light, and then Lucifer was thrown back into the wall of Castiel's flower garden, crashing through the glass. Gabriel cringed, knowing that his brother was going to be pissed, but seeing that Lucifer was okay, turned back to where the light was, only to see there was nothing there. Lucifer stood up, brushing the dirt off himself, and walking back over to the other Angels, looking around the clearing. Gabriel clicked his fingers and repaired the greenhouse, before turning back to his brothers, each of them wondering what had happened, before Lucifer announced that his headache was gone.

'So, if that was Michael, and he's not here… then where is he?' Elay asked, as he followed Gabriel and Lucifer back into the Bunker

'I don't know, but something tells me… that it's not anywhere good,' Lucifer said, moving to stand back in front of the map in the War Room.

'I don't know… I think he's closer than we think he is… and he'll be making contact with us sooner rather than later…' Gabriel said, pointing to the shining red dot on the War Table, that had lit up near to Sioux Falls

'We better let Cas know that they might be in for a storm…,' Elay said, grabbing Gabriel's cell phone and dialling Castiel's number.

In Sioux Falls, Castiel and Jack heard a loud bang from outside the house, at the same time that the Seraphs phone rang, the two had exited Jody's house, to see a bright light in front of them. Castiel listened as Gabriel told him about Michael possibly making an appearance. Jack came out of the house, shouting to Gabriel that he was 'feeling something of immense power approaching' coming to stand beside his chosen father, as the light faded, and standing in front of them was Michael, still in the vessel of Adam, almost glaring at them. The Archangel made his way over to the two standing in front of him, Castiel didn't flinch, just said 'he's here' into the phone, before hanging up. Moments later, Gabriel appeared behind Castiel, cheerfully greeting Michael as if they're old friends, and haven't been estranged for many millennia. Michael used his powers to throw Gabriel through the air, making him land a way aways from them, then turned back to Castiel, who still hadn't flinched from the movement. He and Michael had never gotten along. To be honest, he has never liked Michael, even when he was in Heaven. But now… if they can get Michael to be on their side, they will have enough power to possibly defeat the Rogue's. Gabriel had made his way back over to them, still trying to talk his brother down from throwing him across the yard again, by asking him to just 'listen to them' before he reacts. Michael looked at Jack, who smiled cheerfully and waved, introducing himself to Michael, who glared at Castiel, asking what he was thinking, allowing a Nephilim to walk the earth, instead of getting rid of him. Jack deflated beside Castiel, who told him to go back inside, patting Jack's shoulder as the young man turned and excused himself. Michael was annoyed, mostly because of what had happened to him, partially because he knows of the Rogue's, but has no intention of helping, no matter what Gabriel says to him… including the information that had been shared with him by an Angel that he trusts. Castiel explained why they had kept Jack around, and what has been happening, why the contacted him. Gabriel filled in the gaps, and Michael softened a little, seeing Gabriel after all these years…he had missed his brother a lot. They were about to ask Michael what he knew about the Rogues when Lucifer and Elay arrived. Michael immediately drew his Archangel blade, and raised it, Lucifer put his hands up, explaining that he's 'on their side', and Castiel calmed the waters by explaining that Lucifer is telling the truth. Michael reluctantly put his blade away, and then looked at Elay. Neither of the Angels had met each other, and whilst Elay knew of Michael, Michael never knew of Elay. Castiel, Gabriel, and Lucifer watched the twins as they met for the first time, with Gabriel just introducing them to each other. Elay extended his hand, and Michael shook it, causing a bright white light to appear, and then the Angels were gone…

A/N: I have been listening to Red (Taylor's Version) for like two months straight. I was listening to that album when I wrote this chapter. It's beautiful, as are all of her albums (Taylor's Versions). Merry Christmas. D.
