Chapter 104 Taking Charge

In the Capitol cafeteria everyone was going into full panic mode. Some people were running about screaming, others were gathered together and whispering among themselves, some daring folks were arming themselves with kitchen utensils, a few desperate people were banging on the sheets of metal desperate to escape, and one crazy man was dumping trash out of a trashcan and attempting to hide in it. It was complete chaos. In the midst of the chaos Jazz was glaring at Johnny, who was trying not to make eye contact with her.
"Johnny did you have something to do with what's going on here?" Asked Jazz.
"Not...directly." Said Johnny giving Jazz a nervous smile.
"Look we need to find some place to hide and lay low away from everyone else and then will explain everything." Said Kitty.
"Fine. I know my way around this place, so I think I can find us a good place to hide." Said Jazz as she lead Johnny and the others out of the cafeteria.
Wraith walked alongside Jazz curious about Johnny's involvement in the current crisis and eager to go into battle.
"We should ditch the kid, she'll only slow us down." Said Kitty.
"No way! Wraith is the daughter of of a important figure of the Empire and she is my responsibility. I'm supposed to teach her and keep her safe." Said Jazz.
Wraith smiled at those words and resisted the urge to laugh. It was admirable for Jazz to say she would keep Wraith safe, but Wraith was more then capable of keeping herself safe and could probably protect Jazz far better then she could protect Wraith. It was laughable, but sweet.
Up in Lancer's office, Youngblood was pacing back and forth as he checked with his men and their progress on his communicator. The crew of pirates had already taken out most of the Stormtroopers and officers stationed at the Capitol, had planted bombs on various parts of the building, taken up defensive positions to guard against people from breaking into the building, and had already started taking hostages. So far things were running smoothly. Youngblood glanced over at Lancer, who was currently sitting in a guest chair with his hands tied up in front of him and a nervous expression on his face as two pirates stood beside him guarding him. The pirate captain smiled at Lancer as he strolled over to Lancer's desk and took a seat behind it.
"Now that things have settled down here. I think it's high time that I deliver a public message to the people and get the Empire's attention and start making my demands. Now if you would please be so kind as to show me how to address the city and it's fine people we can get down to business." Said Youngblood.
Lancer explained how his public communication system worked and a few minutes later Youngblood was speaking to the people of Goza City.
"Ahoy there people of Goza City! This is Captain Youngblood coming in from your fair little Capitol letting you know that I have taken it over and have taken Governor Lancer and several other people hostage. I demand to speak with General Vlad Plasmius of the Empire, so we may discuss the release terms of the hostages. If anyone attempts to break into the Capitol to free the hostages, they will be met with violent forces and we will start killing the hostages. Have a nice day."
As soon as the message had been delivered a great panic overtook the city. Many citizens had loved ones who worked inside the Capitol and they were fearful for their loved ones safety. A platoon of Stormtroopers went to the Capitol and setup a protective perimeter a few hundred yards around the building. The platoon was under the command of a Imperial Officer by the name of Sanderson. He was a short man with black hair, who wore black sunglasses and a grey officer's uniform. Sanderson was a very serious man and a smart officer. He had his troops stay a good distance from the Capitol, but made sure that all the entrances and exits were carefully monitored.
Over at FentonWorks, both Maddie and Danny were freaked out about what was going on at the Capitol. Jazz was in the Capitol, so there was a very good chance her life was in danger. Jack was also freaked out about the situation and wanted to go to the Capitol to see if his mechanic and technology skills could help out, but Maddie didn't want to put her husband's life in danger and insisted he stay at the shop. Tucker, Wulf, Valerie, and Crash showed up at FentonWorks to offer their support and to help figure out a way to get in the Capitol and deal with the situation. They contacted Sam, who used her connections to get some schematics for the Capitol building. Tucker studied the schematics carefully and found an entrance into the Capitol through the sewer. A plan was made and the team geared up before setting out to the Capitol.
Up aboard the Leviathan, Vlad sat in his command chair listening to a recording of Youngblood's message to Goza City. Vlad was not pleased by the situation, since both Wraith and several high ranking government figures were most likely being held captive by the pirates. There was a chance Wraith was still running around the Capitol, but there were far too many pirates for her to take on alone. Vlad wanted to go down to Casper personally and deal with the situation himself, but Youngblood wanted to speak him. Vlad's officers and advisors and underlings told him not to go down to Casper and talk to Youngblood face-to-face. They believed Vlad was more then capable of dealing with the pirate captain, but the rest of the crew would be a serious problem especially with the hostages. It was a delicate matter. Vlad talking to Youngblood through holograms was considered a safer option and it would help buy time to put other plans into affect. Fright Knight stepped onto the bridge and approached Vlad.
"I heard about the recent news on Casper and I am here to offer my services in taking the Capitol back." Said Fright Knight.
"What do you have in mind?" Asked Vlad.
"I had my best tech trooper going over the Capitol's schematics and his has found a way in through the sewer system. I can lead a small team into the Capitol and we can rescue the hostages and take the building back. With your approval of course." Said Fright Knight.
"You have my approval. My resources and troops are at your disposal." Said Vlad.
"Thank you sir." Said Fright Knight before he turned around and walked away.
Back in the Capitol, Jazz and her little group had found a storage closet to hide in. After a few minutes of relaxing Jazz demanded that Johnny tell her everything.
"Alright...I kind of copied your keycard for the Capitol and sold it to Youngblood and his crew." Said Johnny looking guilty.
"You what?!" Yelled Jazz.
"Sorry." Mumbled Johnny.
"Why did you do that?" Asked Wraith.
"You want the truth. Here it is. Johnny pretended to be Jazz's boyfriend, so he could get his hands on important information on the Empire and sell it to criminals. I'm Johnny's real girlfriend and I was in on his scheme." Said Kitty.
"You used me!" Yelled Jazz.
"Look I'm sorry! You're a real nice girl Jazz and I didn't want you to get hurt. When I heard what Youngblood was planning to do I came rushing over here to try and get you out of the Capitol. You have to believe me." Said Johnny.
"I don't know what to believe in now." Mumbled Jazz.
"So what do we do now? Do we just stay here and wait things out?" Asked Kitty.
"No. It's time to take action. We're going to takedown Youngblood and take the Capitol back." Said Wraith as she pulled out her lightsaber and activated it.
Everyone just stared at Wraith in shock.
"This day is just full of surprises." Mumbled Jazz.
