Summary: Emma and Karin are away and Kanata can't help but miss the tight embrace in which they always envelope her, losing sleep as consequence.

Losing sleep

Kanata tosses and turns around in her bed for what feels the nth time of the night. She half opens her eyes to take a look at the glowing clock resting on her nightstand: 3 am.

She sighs heavily and tries to get comfortable once again in her empty bed, hugging her beloved purple stripped pillow tightly between her arms to try to ignore the feeling of solitude that slowly takes over her.

She misses them.

She misses the way the girls always sandwich her in between them, wrapping their arms around her tightly, pressing her against their bodies at the same time they envelope her in their warmth and soothing mixed scents.

She misses the way they make her feel loved and cared…

Kanata sighs again, peeking out from behind her pillow to take another look at the glowing clock to see how the hours keep passing while she stays wide awake losing sleep and unable to talk to any of the girls given the late hour.

This is the second night they're away and the second night she's unable to succumb to slumber without them enveloping her in their tight embrace.

Emma is away in a trip with her class, while Karin is busy finishing a model event and a photo shoot in another district, and as far as they let her know, they wouldn't be coming back with her for at least another night.

Kanata sighs, this time sadly, trying not to think about another sleepless night without them, and closes her eyes to try to find sleep in Morpheus' arms, but she can't.

The branches creaking in the wind keep hitting the window lightly, keeping her awake and unnerving her. She hugs her pillow tighter to ignore the distressing feeling growing inside her, and to try to ignore the crackling of the wood tiles of the floor of the house as if they were being stepped on by somebody.

I'm alone.

She remembers herself, shutting her eyes tightly as she hears more cracks.

Soon, she feels a pair of arms hugging her, her nose coming to inhale a sweet flowery scent.

Emma-chan!

Kanata doesn't know why the Swiss girl is there when she's supposed to still be away with her class, but she doesn't care about it at that very moment, smiling happily against the other girl's chest while burying herself more into her warmth and soothing scent.

- Sweet dreams – she hears Emma whispering softly, nuzzling and kissing her head and Kanata can only pretend to be asleep to not make Emma feel guilty thinking she may have wake her up nor worry her about why she's still awake so late.

And even though she soon falls asleep in Emma's embrace, she still misses a certain blue haired girl's embrace, making her wake up restlessly every now and then.

Kanata wakes up once again, noticing the glowing clock indicating that several hours went by since the last time she checked it.

She can already see the sun slowly waking up from its slumber through the window of the room when she feels a feeling of safety taking over her as another pair of strong arms surrounds her waist from behind, pressing her body against this new person.

Karin-chan!

Kanata smiles widely between slumber and reality, feeling the blue haired girl kissing her shoulder before she finally falls asleep peacefully with a big and happy smile on her face until she wakes up by the midday.
