Chapter 124 Hunting 4

At Hotep Ra's fortress the crowd of criminals and associates were in a uproar about the drastic turn of the hunt. Three of the hunters had turned traitor and were now aiding the prey and they had already taken down a few of the other hunters. Big Daddy observed the crowd of criminals and saw this as a golden opportunity to turn the crowd against Hotep Ra and his forces. He scanned the crowd and found a human, arms dealer he knew to be both very paranoid and very violent. Big Daddy grabbed a couple of drinks and headed over to the arms dealer and offered him one of the drinks. The man took the drink and took a swig from it.
"Heck of a thing, ain't it Colt?" Asked Big Daddy.
"You mean three of the hunters siding with the two Rebels and turning against the other hunters." Said Colt.
"Yeah that certainly was a surprise. Makes me wonder if this whole game is somehow rigged." Said Big Daddy.
"Rigged? What do you mean?" Asked Colt.
"I mean think about it. Hotep Ra invited us to this place and encouraged us to bet on who will kill the Rebels. He knows who betted on who and he knows how much money he can get if certain hunters are removed from the game and how much money he can earn if certain hunters win the game. Hotep Ra is controlling everything and putting on a show. Those three hunters siding with the Rebels are probably taking direct orders from Hotep Ra and are making sure that whoever he betted on wins and we all lose." Said Big Daddy.
A look of shock appeared on Colt's face, which quickly turned to rage. Colt pulled out a small blaster and went over to some other criminals and told them about what Big Daddy had told him. The criminals got angry and word of the supposed cheating spread through the crowd. The gathered criminals became angry and they all started to draw weapons and prepare to breakout into a full fledge riot. Hotep Ra's guards went on the defensive and tried to maintain order, but the crowd started to throw glasses and plates at the guards forcing some of them to retreat. Just when things seemed they were about to fall into violence and chaos Hotep Ra pulled out a blaster and fired it into the air getting everyone's attention.
"Enough! Look whatever you have heard and think about me and my operation is untrue. I have no control of those hunters that sided with the Rebels and I'm just as surprised by their actions as you are. I will reimburse those who betted on hunters, who were taken out by the traitors and I will make sure the traitors are punished. Now let us all take a deep breath and go back to watching the hunt."
The crowd grumbled, but seemed to calm down and go back to watching the hunt. A few of the more violent criminals shot glares at Hotep Ra, but sat down and joined the rest of the crowd. The situation was contained and calm for now, but it was a powder keg. Hotep Ra grabbed a device that allowed him to deliver a message over the island to the hunters.
"Attention all hunters, three of your own have turn traitor and are now helping the two Rebels. The traitors are two humans named Johnny and Kitty and a Defel named Shadow. A large bounty is now on their heads. Kill them if you must, but if you can bring them to me alive you will receive a million credit bonus."
The scattered hunters heard the news and they all began to double their efforts. Doombringer, Ving, Felos, Spoor, and Zim gathered their courage and readied their weapons as they went after the Rebels and their allies.
Skulker heard the news and decided to stop waiting around in his clearing and go after the prey himself. He gabbed Phantom's lightsaber, activated some jets on the back of his armor and took off into the sky. Skulker flew for a few minutes, until he saw what appeared to be a flare shooting up from another clearing and decided to go investigate it. He landed in the clearing and saw Terminatra and Nightmerica facing.
"Terminatra. Nightmerica." Said Skulker in greeting to the bounty hunters.
"Hello Skulker. I wish to make a deal with you about the prey." Said Terminatra.
"Phantom is my prey and no one else will have him, but me." Said Skulker.
"Oh you can have Phantom. We want Valerie. We have personal business with her." Said Terminatra.
"So you want Valerie and I want Phantom. We all have a score to settle and we don't want any of the other hunters interfering." Said Skulker.
"Correct. Between us and Femalien, we should be more then a match for the rest of the hunters and the traitors who sided with the Rebels. You get what you want and we get what we want. We have a deal?" Said Terminatra.
"Deal." Said Skulker.
"Alright then, will set out and deal with some of the competition and then we meet up back here." Said Terminatra.
"Fine by me." Said Skulker.
The three bounty hunters headed into the jungle to do their hunting.
On the far side of the island the Tempest and the three armored Rebel transports landed and Maddie got out of the the Tempest with Wulf and Tucker. Crash got out of one of the armored transports along with a few dozen armed Rebel fighters. The assault looked at Hotep Ra's base off in the distance and Maddie activated her lightsaber.
"Let's go get our people back." Said Maddie as she lead her forces to the base.
At the fortress a guard on one of the walls saw the approaching enemies and quickly sounded the alarm. The hunt was drawing to an end.
