Chapter 145 The Attack 2

It was absolute chaos in the area around the Capitol as the forces of the Empire fought with the forces of Dark Laser. Amongst all the chaos Danny, Maddie, Clockwork, Wulf, Valerie, and the Rebel agents who had been stationed around the Capitol and monitoring it were doing the best they could to help protect citizens and fight Dark Laser's forces as well as any Stormtroopers who took notice of them and tried to attack them.
The Rebels may have had issues and fought with the Empire, but they saw the threat Dark Laser and his forces were to the citizens and the city and decided they were the bigger enemy right now that needed to be dealt with. The Empire was evil and tyrannical, but they still valued the care and safety of the people under them. Dark Laser's forces on the other hand cared nothing for any unfortunate citizens that got in their way.
Wraith fought her way through Dark Laser's forces providing aid where she could to any Stormtroopers as she did her best to protect the civilians. It was a grueling task and Wraith had seen plenty of dead Stormtroopers, Dark Laser's forces, and civilians scattered around the area. Wraith was disheartened by the sights of the dead citizens, but pressed on in hopes to end the attack. Admittedly she was probably going against the will of her master, but this attack was claiming too many lives of both soldiers and civilians, all for the sake of requiring the Ring of Rage. Wraith planned to do her best to get the ring after she eliminate Dark Laser from the equation. Dark Laser was too dangerous and unhinged to work with and Wraith knew her master didn't care too much about the Dark Jedi.
With Dark Laser out of the picture, the rest of the attacking force would fall apart without their leader and either surrender or fully retreat. Wraith believed the Crown of Fire was in Dark Laser's possession and he had it on his person. She would do her best to kill Dark Laser and claim the Crown of Fire, before seeing about getting the Ring of Rage from the Rebels. It was a daunting task, but Wraith was determined to do this for the Empire and to save people.
Up in the sky both the Strife and the Dagger fired away at each other as both sides respected fighters flew about blasting each other to bits. Tucker flew in on the scene with the Tempest taking all the carnage in. The Rebel didn't know what to do about this situation, but it was looking a bit bad for the Dagger. The Dagger may have been a newer model ship then the Strife, but it was still smaller and less armed and armored then the Strife. The smaller ship was managing to hold out, but it was only a matter of time before it got destroyed. Tucker wondered why there weren't more ships providing aid to the Dagger and defending the city.
"Can't believe I'm doing this, but we're going to have to help that Empire ship. Duda. Chipper. Hang on tight! This is going to get rough!" Said Tucker to his droids as he flew the Tempest at the Strife.
Duda cried in alarm as Chipper let out a screech of fear. The Tempest flew above the Strife firing it's guns at the big ship, hitting it, but did very little damage. Tucker did sucked in getting the attention of the Strife's crew who ordered several Scarabs and Vulture Droids to fly after the Tempest.
"Ok. Not what I had in mind, but I'll try to think of something." Thought Tucker as the enemy ships chased after him.
"This is insane! We're going to need help!" Said Duda.
Chipper as he connected to the Tempest's communication system and sent a distress signal to Chaos requesting reinforcements. Chaos got the call and quickly sent out a message to Rebel agents in the area to get their ships ready and aid the Tempest.
On the ground below Vicky, Dash, Kwan, and Klemper were fighting with all their might to stay alive in the battle. The four of them ran and fought their way to some cover to catch their breaths and figure out their next move. Vicky watched as a Vulture Droid stomped it's way down the street and then someone leaped onto it and drove a red lightsaber into the droid's head making it collapse to the ground in a heap. Vicky gasped in shock as she recognized the figure as Wraith! Wraith leaped off the droid and went to go fight some enemy troopers.
"Glad that person is on our side. I would hate having to try and fight her." Said Kwan.
"We would most like end up dead." Said Klemper.
Vicky watched Wraith run off as a plan for revenge began to form in her mind. Now most rational and sane people would forget about revenge on a fairly dangerous person with connections, especially in the middle of a battle, but Vicky's desire for revenge was overriding those things. Vicky planned to follow Wraith and when the opportunity was right shoot her in the back and blame on friendly fire. No one would be the wiser to what was going on.
"We need to follower her." Said Vicky to the others.
"What?! Are you crazy?!" Asked Kwan.
"We will probably be safer with that person with the lightsaber then just waiting around here, plus if we help her we could get promoted." Said Vicky.
"I'm in." Said Dash.
"Good." Said Vicky before she stood up and chased after Wraith.
Dash followed and Kwan and Klemper reluctantly followed them.
Clockwork had just taken down some enemy troops, when he got a vision from the Force. It was a vision of Danny confronting Dark Laser and then getting overwhelmed by the Dark Jedi who used his powers on Danny to learn the location of the Ring of Rage, which was currently in a safe at FentonWorks.
"We must move the ring at once. It is no longer safe on this planet." Said Clockwork to Maddie.
"I'll contact my husband and daughter to get the ring out of the safe and then I'll have Valerie or someone else go get it and get it off planet." Said Maddie as she pulled out her communicator and began to make calls.
Clockwork nodded and pressed forward after Danny who had gotten ahead of him and Maddie.
Danny took down several of Dark Laser's men and a few Stormtroopers, when he found himself facing Dark Laser who strode towards him. The young Jedi gripped his lightsaber tightly as he faced Dark Laser.
"We meet again young Phantom. Tell me the location of the Ring of Rage and I shall cease my attack on the city. Resist and my forces will continue with the attack on the city and spread out. One way or the other the ring will be mine. It is inevitable." Said Dark Laser.
A couple of Stormtroopers then ran onto the scene and began shooting at Dark Laser. Dark Laser deflected the shots away from himself before he sent one shot back into one Stormtrooper's chest and then he grabbed the other Stormtrooper with the Force and flung him off into the distance. Danny took this opportunity to dash forward and tried to strike Dark Laser with his lightsaber, but Dark Laser blocked the attack with his own lightsaber.
"Not bad. You saw a good opportunity to attack me and you took it. If you had been a little faster you could have greatly injured me, but you still lack the power to end me." Said Dark Laser as he shoved Danny back and sent him skidding a few feet.
"I'm going to put a stop to you and make sure you don't get the ring." Said Danny as he prepared to attack again.
"I admire your spirit, but I'm afraid you will fail." Said Dark Laser as he pulled out the Crown of Flames and placed it on his head.
Danny tried to attack Dark Laser, but he restrained him with the Force and lifted him into the air. The young Jedi cried out in pain as he felt something pierce his mind and began to probe it for information. Danny tried to resist, but the Dark Laser was being backed by the crown and Pariah Dark, who smashed through Danny's defenses and extracted the info they needed.
"So the ring is at a place called FentonWorks, I don't know what significance that place has to you, but it matters not. The ring is what I desire nothing more." Said Dark Laser as he dropped Danny onto the ground.
Dark Laser pulled out a communicator to summon troop carriers to come pick him up and carry him to FentonWorks, when Clockwork and Maddie arrived on the scene. Clockwork glanced at the scene and already knew what happened.
"Dark Laser, the ring is in the process of being move. Pretty soon it will be off this planet and taken to a new location far away from here. This whole attack is futile." Said Clockwork.
Dark Laser reached out with the Force to scan Clockwork's mind and got a brief glimpse of his enemy's thoughts. What he said was true, but only partially. The ring was still at FentonWorks and hadn't left the planet yet.
"I will get the ring. Your attempts to stop will not succeed." Said Dark Laser as one of his troop carriers headed his way.
"Do you wish to settle things here and now?" Asked Clockwork as he tried to goad Dark Laser into fighting him.
Dark Laser was tempted by this, but he wanted the ring even more. He wanted the full power of what Pariah Dark could give him, so he could destroy his enemy. The troop carrier landed near Dark Laser as Fight Knight, Vid, Thrash, and Download landed on the scene.
"Stop right there in the name of the Empire!" Ordered Fright Knight.
"I think not." Said Dark Laser before he unleashed a shockwave of Force that pushed everyone back.
Dark Laser quickly got into the carrier and it took to the sky. Fright Knight watched the fleeing ship as it flew away and he and his team turned their attention to Danny, Maddie, and Clockwork and prepared to fight them, but Wraith suddenly arrived on the scene.
"What's going on here?" Asked Wraith.
"Dark Laser knows the location of the Ring of Rage and is going after." Said Danny.
"Ring of Rage? One of the artifacts of Pariah Dark the Sith Lord?" Asked Fright Knight with concern.
"The very same. Master Vladimir, me, and a team tried to retrieve the ring along, with the Crown of Fire, but Dark Laser got the crown and the Rebels got the ring." Said Wraith.
"Why was I not informed about this?" Asked Fright Knight.
"Doesn't matter. Look right now we need to put aside our differences to keep a powerful relic from falling into the hands of a madman. If Dark Laser gets them, it'll be trouble for the whole Amitrax and the galaxy." Said Danny.
Fright Knight thought deeply as Vid, Download, and Thrash looked to him for instructions.
"What should we do sir?" Asked Vid.
"Tell any available fighters to go after that troop carrier and take it down. Also call us a transport to pick us up to pursue that carrier." Said Fright Knight.
"What about the Rebels and Jedi?" Asked Vid.
"Ignore them for the time being. Our main focus will be on defending the city, protecting the civilians, and retrieving both the crown and the ring, if the Rebels or the Jedi interfere in any of that take them out." Said Fright Knight.
"Yes sir." Said Vid.
"Come Wraith. We're going to need your assistance in this matter." Said Fright Knight as he and his forces walked away.
Wraith looked back at Danny and the others, before she followed Fright Knight, unaware that Vicky and her little group were tailing them. Vicky had considered trying to attack Danny and his allies, but realized that the odds were not in their favor, so decided not to.
"We need to get home and make sure the ring gets off planet." Said Danny.
Danny, Maddie, and Clockwork raced through the area to some speeder bikes they had used to get to the Capitol and quickly took off to FentonWorks praying that they would get there in time.
