Four playthroughs. Four PLAYTHROUGHS that took me to complete all Trophies in Bloodborne and its DLC, The Old Hunters. Now, I am on my fifth playthrough and I have to say that Bloodborne may be my new favourite game behind Elden Ring and Dark Souls III. I may be no expert of both Bloodborne and Fairy Tail due to my stupid lazy ass that prioritizes on personal life. But that does not mean that this story will not be cancelled. With that, let's get onto the starting point to Wendy's traumatic adventures throughout Yharnam and beyond. One more thing, Wendy does have magic, but it is currently blocked out because a certain Eldritch God managed to cancel it. That how I want to interpret it as I do not want Wendy to take the spotlight. Let's get on with the story then.

Speaking of story, I cannot believe there are those that would read this story. Sure, Fairy Tail and Bloodborne are a strange combination. Yet I enjoy writing it. At some point in the future, I may continue and get a commission.

Disclaimer: I do NOT own Fairy Tail and/or Bloodborne

Dragon Hunter of Yharnam

Fifth Hunt

Cathedral Ward

Wendy opened her eyes, and the first thing she saw was the ceiling of a Cathedral, including a strong incense that she could smell despite the cloth that covered her mouth. She immediately realised she was lying on the floor and got to her feet. She looked around to see that it was empty. Well, it still needs to be emptied.

Hearing a conversation behind her back, she saw Gideon, whose face was covered by a tattered, fathered hat, as well as a black cloth around the lower half of his head, talking to a disfigured man who was curled up and was covered in some sort of red cloth. Said individuals saw her and were glad she was awake. "Ahh, you must be another Hunter. Glad to meet you."

Wendy saw how disfigured this person was but didn't seem bothered by it. "Um… yeah. It's nice to see someone that isn't trying to kill me." She chuckled at her words.

Gideon looked between the two before he took a closer look at Wendy. From what he saw, she may be innocent. But, at the same, she has been through rough times of her own. She had more experience than he had. Right now, they need to head towards their designated destination. "We better get a move on, kid."

"Uh, yeah, right." The young Dragon Slayer looked at the other Hunter before grabbing the Saw Cleaver from her back. Looking at the weapon, it didn't seem to fit her due to its size. Nonetheless, it felt suitable for her. "Erza may take an interest in this type of weaponry."

The Young Dragon Slayer proceeded to follow Gideon. Both Hunters went forward before Gideon turned to the left and exited through an open doorway. Wendy then moved to follow him. Once she reached the desolate area on the other side of the church, she sniffed and turned to look at the building that she and the other Hunter were in. She could tell there was…something within the walls watching the two. It may be hiding its presence, but the girl had a feeling that—

"Kid, what are you staring at?" Gideon's voice broke the Young Dragon Slayer's imaginative stare. There, she saw two monumental figures in some sort of formal white robes lifelessly lying on the floor.

Wendy looked back at the Cathedral before facing back at the other Hunter smeared in dried blood. "It must have been my imagination."

"We're wasting time, and I'm not keen on wasting more." The other Hunter caught up with Gideon. The two then proceeded to head up a flight of stairs towards their destination. On the way, however, both encountered a giant wearing the same set as the dead enemies they previously saw, carrying an axe in both hands.

As it immediately spotted the two hunters, the Giant screamed and swung its weapon in their direction. This made the two dodge the attack by sliding away when the blade hit the ground. Gideon responded by turning his Saw Cleaver diagonally, slashing it across one of its legs. The enemy screamed again, which made it swing its axe at the Hunter. But he merely dodges it with ease before making a slash cut across the other leg. Gideon saw his enemy down on both of its knees. Perfect. There's a tiny window to deliver a visceral. Without wasting a second, he quickly slides forward towards the Giant's face.

Instantaneously, his hand had burrowed into the cheekbone of the Giant and immediately ripped a chunk of flesh. The enemy shrieked in pain before dropping to the ground and turning into the mist while a huge splat of blood remained where it was.

Gideon threw the chunk of flesh that was still in his hand. He grabbed his Saw Cleaver in his and continued on with his task. Rightfully doing so, he looked to see Wendy, who seemed to pass out. "Um…Mister…?"

"I know what you're thinking. But it's what Hunters do."

He explained to her with a bit of hesitation. "I can already tell you experienced worse things from looking at your eyes. Yet, you are not used to seeing blood a lot." He then thought of how she could also partake in the hunting right until she got used to it. "How about this. You could inflict wounds on your enemies, and I can deal the killing blow.

Wendy already had her own thoughts about what he said. "Um…that's fine and all. But, since I'm a Hunter like you, does that mean…"

"Unfortunately, you have if you do not want to get yourself killed." He immediately finished her sentence with a bit of empathy. Although she is only a young girl who has been through rough times, he doesn't want her to be some sort of killer who is crazy for blood.

"I…see…" She spoke, looking down at her own Saw Cleaver that she held. She knew that what would transpire in the next few hours would change her to a certain extent. All she wanted to do was to get back home to her friends.

She saw the other Hunter passing by her. "Come on. We're wasting time."

"Wait up!" She called out to him before following from behind.

Both Hunters had climbed up a couple of stairs and found themselves looking at a gate shut in close. Naturally, the young Dragon Slayer was confused as she saw a lever on the other side of said gateway. "There's a lever on the other side! Why didn't we go somewhere where we could just open the lever on the other side?" Wendy had pointed out the most logical thing to him.

Gideon looked back at her for just a few seconds. He soon realised that he hadn't told her about one thing she needed to know. "About that…" He fished a specific object from his pocket and pulled out a small and elegant cloth, "Thanks to the encounter we had earlier on, I managed to get this off from those grotesque creatures at a certain price."

Wendy was sure surprised that he managed to buy that from those tiny creatures that the Doll called the Little Ones. Though she couldn't help but realise how he had gotten it. "What did you trade it with to get that?"

"Blood Echoes," Gideon answered the young girl's question.

She tilted her head in confusion. "Blood Echoes?"

Now Gideon had to further explain what that is. "It's some sort of metaphysical concept. That being memories of the blood. It's just like insight, like the depth of inhuman knowledge, but from the blood instead of the mind. Therefore, it's likely connected more closely with beasthood. The more powerful the being, the more memories their blood possesses." Hearing his statement caused her to be more confused with this terminology. "Don't worry, you'll understand it. Sooner or later. For now…" He presented the object in front of the gate, and somehow, it magically opened. Seeing how the kid would react, all he had to tell her, "Don't get too distracted, kid."

"Okay," Wendy said before continuing to follow Gideon. Both Hunters then ended up in a round-like plaza. The young girl saw the place and knew it had seen better days. Debris and rubbish were everywhere since the site hadn't been tendered adequately for a long time. Both Hunters noticed there were three giants present.

The first of the three giants immediately spotted the two and ran towards their position. Gideon had already got the Saw Cleaver in Hand. "Get ready, kid!" Wendy did the same, and she had her own Saw Cleaver in her hand though it wasn't the same way as the Hunter.

The Giant held its weapon into the air before swinging into where the two Hunters stood. But, just like before, they immediately slid to each side where their enemy was. Within the small-time space given to the two, Wendy copied the move that she saw Gideon did earlier and swung her new weapon across the leg of the Giant.

Naturally, the Giant shrieked in pain. This made it swing the huge metallic ball attached to the chains on both bracers to where Wendy was. The circular object nearly hit her, but the Young Dragon Slayer narrowly avoided the attack in just a split second and swung the Saw Cleaver twice. The Giant felt the fresh cuts in its legs and looked to where the little Hunter stood.

It let out a loud screech, which made the Young Dragon Slayer cover her ears. This would have cost her life if the Giant hadn't been knocked down to the ground on its hands and knees. The girl uncovers her ears and witness Gideon pulling that ripping flesh chunk again towards its face. Like before, the Giant fell onto its back and momentarily tried to get up before collapsing on the floor. Wendy felt slightly uncomfortable again as she saw the dead Giant's body disappearing.

"Was that really necessary?" She asked him as he turned around to look at her.

"It gets the job done." He told her as he tossed the chunk of flesh onto the ground.

The young girl already knew that. Still, she wasn't comfortable that he'd ripped a chunk of flesh from another person's body. "I can see that. But isn't it…you know, too brutal?"

The other Hunter looked at her. Wendy couldn't help but be a bit nervous from the way he looked at where she was. "I am very aware of that. But Gehrman told me that Hunters need to be cunning, focused, swift, and cruel to win no matter what the situation they would be in."

Wendy was unnerved by his statement. It's no wonder Gideon tends to be bloody ruthless with his enemies. "I see." Her ears suddenly perked, and both turned to their side to see the remaining giants approaching them. She quietly let out a breath of air and readied herself. "Let's deal with them first."

"Noted." The Other Hunter nodded as he transformed his weapon into the Cleaver. The Young Girl looked to see this and wondered how to do the same. For now, the enemies need to be dealt with.

Like the other two giants they encountered earlier, they both fell quickly. Though that doesn't mean they didn't sustain any injuries. Wendy felt a cut across her right leg; by looking down to see blood coming out from her wound and onto the clothes that she wore. She bit her bottom lip and cursed herself for not using her healing magic. "If only I could use my magic here."

Gideon, meanwhile, injected himself with a Blood Vial that he pocketed. He felt much better as he saw the wound and the damage in his clothing being fixed before tossing the empty vial away. Looking to see the fresh injury that the other Hunter had sustained, he gave one of his remaining vials to her. "Take this. It'll heal your wound."

Wendy looked at the object in his hands and was sceptical of the substance. "It's only blood. How can I be healed from it?"

"Inject it to your right thigh, and you'll see the result." He told her without giving a straightforward answer.

The Young Dragon Slayer reluctantly took the object off his hand. At first, she was hesitant to inject it. But she changed her mind as saw looked back at her wound again. Feeling new blood flowing through her blood veins, she glanced back at the cut to see that it had been completely healed. She also noticed that the damage in her clothing had been fixed. This caused her to become confused and muttered one word. "How?"

The Other Hunter saw her reaction. "I honestly do not know myself." Now that the area was clear, it was safe for the young Hunter to stay with her until he opened the gate. "Stay here, kid. I need to do something first."

The girl looked at him. "What do you need to do?"

"I'm going to open the gate on the other side. It's better for you if you stay here." He explained as he began to walk away to do that task. Right before doing so, he stopped for a moment and turned to take a glance at her. "By the way, kid. I can see you're hesitant about taking a life. I am aware that you know that taking a life is wrong. But you cannot have your hands clean forever. Sooner or later, you'd end up in a situation whether you die at the hands of your enemies or are forced to take a life to survive."

Wendy had to think about his statement for a little moment. It was true that she hadn't taken one even though she assisted in killing the giants. She slightly lowered her head in acknowledgement. "I…see…"

Now that over and done with, Gideon could finally do what needed to be fulfilled. He left the area soon and left Wendy behind. At least for now, the kid would be until he'd opened the gate. Speaking of the girl, she looked over to the right and saw something that was eye-catching. "What's that?" Walking to where it was, she kneeled down on one knee to pick up the item. She looked at the exciting object to see a small skull emitting a blue flame on top of it.

-Scene Change-

A Priest dressed in white garbs had been slain and dropped to the floor. Gideon had transformed his weapon back to its saw form and walked down a flight of stairs. Arriving at an alley, he turned to his left to see lights on a window to the right and a door on the left side. As much as he wanted to check if those inhabitants were alright, he knew he had an important thing to do first. "I'll talk to them after. Not right now."

Curving to the right, he carefully trekked through the area and kept his weapons close. Soon, he immediately slid to the left as he dodged an attack from a blood-crazed Yharnamite. In response, he swung his Saw Cleaver across the chest, which made a deep cut and blood splattered onto him. It didn't faze him as he made another swing that killed the enemy and did the same to another Yharnamite Hunter behind him right before it could do anything.

Seeing the recently two lifeless corpses hitting the ground, he was soon alerted when a large Yharnamite Hunter with a torch and a saw came from the smoke. Quickly sliding to avoid an attack, he was about to flick his weapon to transform it into its Cleaver form. But an idea popped into his mind. As the enemy was about to swing, he aimed his pistol at its head and pulled the trigger. This seemed to temporarily stun the tall Yharnamite as it was down on one knee. Very soon, he slid towards the downed enemy and used his right hand to rip a piece of flesh off the chest of the big Yharnamite. Again, blood had splattered onto his clothing and exposed skin. He didn't seem bothered by it as he watched the enemy stumble backwards before falling to the ground. He swung his weapon to the cleaver blade to ensure the enemy stayed down and turned it onto its face.

The sound of metal meeting the flesh and bone was heard, as well as a bit of blood spewing out from the recently cut, he did. Pulling the weapon off the slain enemy, he turned to where the enemy came from and only saw more coming his way.

"This is not my night, isn't it?" That's what he muttered under his breath as he let his weapon transform back into the cleaver before sliding towards his opponent.

-Scene Change-

Back in the Plaza, Wendy patiently awaits for Gideon to open the gate. It seems like he's taking so long…due to the bloody slashes, cuts, and even a gunshot she could hear. She was looking at the strange object in the palm of her right hand while pondering what the other Hunter had told her. "Sooner or later, you'd end up in a situation whether you die at the hands of your enemies or are forced to take a life to survive."

"Taking someone's life…" Wendy thoughtfully mumbled those words. She knew that at some point, she would have to take a life when she needed to defend herself and her friends from certain enemies or grant mercy for their suffering.

But by the looks of it, the former is more likely to occur. She wasn't so sure if she was ready for it.

Perhaps time will tell. Sooner or later.

Her ears suddenly perked up as she heard the sounds, as mentioned earlier, getting closer. Couple with that of giants screaming until they couldn't be heard. A couple of minutes later, those sounds had already died down. She shifted her attention to the gate as it opened and the other Hunter walking through the open gate while covered in lots of blood…which was all still fresh.

Gideon looked at her and was glad she stayed there. "Did I take long?"

"Not really," Wendy replied back to him.

"That's good to hear." He spoke as he turned around to look up at the building. Wendy did the same and saw that it was a giant Cathedral. It's no wonder many guards were patrolling as they were guarding someone with Great Importance. "Come on, we better get moving." He told her, and the girl came to his side.

They then proceeded to ascend from the set of stairs that led to the Cathedral. As they reached the entrance, both Hunters nodded at each other as they were ready for whatever awaited them inside the building. The male Hunter placed both hands on the door and opened it. After it's been unlocked, they stepped right in.

As the two walked up the stairs and deeper into the building, the Young Dragon Slayer heard a young woman's voice. "Our thirst for blood satiates us, soothes our fears. Seek the old blood but beware of the frailty of men. Their wills are weak, minds young. The foul beasts will dangle nectar and lure the meek into the depths. Remain wary of the frailty of men. Their wills are weak, minds young."

I hear someone praying," Wendy informed the other Hunter.

Gideon looks back at her. He wasn't so sure if the young girl was telling the truth. "Are you certain about it?"

"I am." She replied back, her expression showing confirmation. Luckily, her enhanced hearing had some uses in a place like Yharnam.

Reaching the top of the stairs, both Hunters saw a woman in bandages and white garb, kneeling in front of the Alter and the Statue that stood behind the shelter. Looking at it, she seemed to be clutching onto something close to her. "Were it not for fear, death would go unlamented. Seek the old blood. Let us pray; let us wish to partake in communion. Let us partake in communion and feast upon the old blood…"

They heard the woman's player becoming quieter and began to hyperventilate. She pressed the object onto her chest as if she was in pain. Seeing made Wendy reach her hand out to the praying lady. "Miss, what's—"

The woman let out a painful scream as she looked up to the roof; she became more extensive as her bones and flesh were being ripped apart. Wendy winced at the woman's pain and closed her eyes until the scream became more beastlike. This made the young Dragon Slayer open her eyes and see what was in the woman's place.

In front of the Alter stood a beast with a long wild mane while her face, covered by scraps of her clothes like the rest of her body, and a lupine head with thin antlers with a slasher smile of sharp teeth.

"Wh-what...?" The girl uttered in disbelief. Seeing what the woman had become, Wendy took a few steps back without thinking of her next move. She felt the entire room shaking due to the transformed beast putting her free hand on the floor and shifting her deer-like head to the young Hunter. This causes her to fall to the ground, only staring at the beast and having one question in mind.

How did this woman become a beast?

That's right folks, the OFFICIAL first mandatory boss that Wendy will face off; Vicar Amelia.

Sorry it has been a while; I felt a bit burnt out. I thought of having a rest would only make this story more interesting. And it did. I managed to do some editing for once and look how it turns out? It's actually a bit longer now!

Anyway, I may have problems writing the Vicar Amelia fight since most of my playthroughs, I killed her on my First Try. There was one occasion where I did die to her once before beating her. Well, I guess I have to be creative then.

Well, now that is over, I will see you all in the next chapter…whenever it will come.
