F3: Time for chapter 20 of this story. Last time the whole gang arrived in Mistral along with finally reuniting with Weiss and Pepper but now Adam as information about the White Fang. RWBY is property of Rooster Teeth. Colby Castanho and Senka Linwood belong to MountainKing312, Akane Shidou belongs to Decode9. With that said Let's Get Started.
Volume 5-20: Reunion.
In the lounge room everyone was oddly silent as they were all currently staring at the elephant in the room that was Adam Taurus who was trying to compose himself as to what he was going to tell the rest of the group. Weiss was sitting nearby so that Yang doesn't decide to hurt him which honestly does give her a reason too as she figured he was the one that sliced off Weiss's right arm.
Jaune and Nora sat across from them with Cardin and May standing behind them. Velvet, Neo, and Raven were waiting patiently along with Ruby and Akane standing behind Yang and Oscar right off to the side.
"So what's this whole thing you got for us on the White Fang? Must be quite important." Jaune said.
"It is and it might just help prepare us for what's coming and maybe prevent the destruction of this academy too." Adam said.
"Okay... what is it?" Ruby asked curiously.
"When we arrived in Argus we met up with Sienna Khan." Adam started got everyone including Ravens attention.
"Wait you mean thee Sienna Khan. As in 'The Tigress' Sienna Khan." Velvet replied.
"Um... okay now I'm lost." Nora said confusingly.
"Sienna was considered a voice for the White Fang about twelve years ago. She inspired many faunus to fight for ourselves. But she stepped down for some reason." Velvet said.
"Actually from what she told us she moved from Menagerie to Argus and adopted Iona but that doesn't mean she doesn't keep tabs on the Fang." Weiss replied.
"She has a spy in the Fang that works for her and we were given a time frame when they'll be here." Adam said.
"Wait you don't mean... they're on the way here." May added as he nodded.
"Yep. Four days time is all we have." Adam stated.
"That's not a lot of time." Yang replied.
"No but it's enough time for us to warn any other students and the headmaster so they'll have time to evacuate." Adam stated.
"Are you sure we should be talking to Lionheart? Senka and the others are saying that he's been acting weird the last few weeks. Like somethings got him on edge." Ruby said which the others nodded at her assumption.
"Somethings got the man spooked and not in the friendly way. He locks himself in his office for hours on end while we are kept in the dark. What he's doing is really starting to make me speculate." Akane said.
Raven spoke up next "You think Lionhearts gone traitor?" Raven asked.
Senka shook her head "Can't say for sure. I'll have to get in their myself and see what he's up too." She said which the others nodded in agreement on what she shoud do.
"So... not to change the subject and all that but what's farmboy over here for?" Cardin asked gesturing toward Oscar.
Weiss sighed as she figured that someone would bring this up and they might as well get it over with.
"Oscar is he able to talk?" Weiss asked which got the others staring at her with confused looks while Raven just waited patiently.
"Oh um... yeah just give me a moment." He said closing his eyes for a moment.
"Ozpin I think they want to talk to you." He said internally.
"Very well. I'll take it from here Oscar." Ozpin said to him as took control.
He opened his eyes as their was a hint of gold in them. He held his cane as he pressed the lever causing the pole to extend to its cane length.
"It's good to see you all again. My apologies for the short delay." He said but everyone was still confused all for one that knew.
"Um... are you okay Oscar?" Ruby asked.
"I'm perfect alright Miss Rose. Though I may appear in this form you might of known me as... Ozpin." Ozpin finally said which made everyone slack jaw.
Raven however just stared at him for the moment then it suddenly came to her.
"Of course. You died up their at Beacon and then reincarnated into a different host." Raven said.
"Thank you Raven. Though I wish we could've met under better circumstances." Ozpin replied.
"Whoa whoa! Back up a minute! How do we know that this is Ozpin? Say something that only Ozpin would know about?" Yang questioned challenging 'Ozpin'.
"Yang he knew that I hid under the name Louve and that my hair was dyed as well. I'm sure that it is Ozpin." Weiss stated.
Yang only looked at the young boy claiming to be Ozpin with a skeptical glare.
"You still doubt me Yang then I do believe that you and your team stopped an attack on the highway that involved Mr. Taurus here." He said.
"Alright... only Ozpin knows that so I guess that is him." Yang said now knowing that it was Ozpin that was in front of them all.
"Though we have much to discuss that you all need to hear." Ozpin added. They all listened intensely.
"As you know when I was in my orignal body I had some assistance that acted as my spies to keep me informed of any problems that were occuring on Remnant. Raven was one of my assistances while she was venturing around looking for Summer. However it became clear that as she was she wouldn't be able to get around quickly so I gave her something that would help her." Ozpin replied.
Ruby went through her thoughts and remembered how Raven wouldn't explain how she was able to turn into her name sake.
"You mean... Ozpin..." Ruby said starting to put things together.
Raven chuckled "Yep. What if I told you that magic was actually real?" Raven asked them as they stared at her rather strangly.
"Really? Magic? But isn't that just a fantasy." Jaune said.
"True some say that magic is a fantasy but given how long Ozpin's been around... that doesn't sound far fetched." Raven said as right then and their her body shifted into her bird form which surprised mostly everyone in the room before turning back to her human form.
"Okay that was both creepy and kinda cool at the same time." May commented.
"That was how I was able to travel everywhere around Remnant because Oz here gave me this ability along with... my brother Qrow." Raven said with a downcasted looked.
"So you can basically transform into a bird. That's pretty helpful for stealth and gathering information. Quite impressive really." Pepper added.
"Yes. With Ravens help I've managed to stay a few steps ahead of our enemy. That is until Beacon fell that not even I could predicted." Ozpin said which brought the mood down a little bit on everyone but mostly on Velvet since it was her team that destroyed Beacon and caused all of the destruction.
"Never the less we now know about the White Fang that are coming this way. This gives up time to prepare a counterattack against them. What I'm weary about is Lionheart? If what Miss Linwood say is true then we need to be extra cautious. For now we keep him at arms length." Ozpin said in which everyone agreed on.
"So how about some lunch I'm sure you all are probably hungry after your trip." Akane suggested.
"Oh yeah. I'm starving." Ruby said and then she turned to Pepper.
"Hey maybe after we eat you care for a little spar?" She asked.
Pepper gave her a small smirk "Sure. Wonder how well you improved?" Pepper said.
"We have training areas that you all can use. It'll certainly help you all." Colby added.
"I'll stay here with Ozpin. See what kind of strategy we can come up with." Raven replied.
That was when Star approached Weiss "Hey Weiss think we can talk a moment. There's something I need to tell you." Star asked.
"Oh sure. What is it about?" Weiss said back.
"Privately." Star said which got Weiss's attention as the two left the lounge.
"What do you say Jaune. Up for some training too?" Cardin said with a competitive grin on his face.
"Oh your on. I'll warn you though I'm not the same like back at Beacon." Jaune said as the two stared each other down.
"Pssh. Boys am I right." Nora said as May and Neo nodded in agreement.
Velvet got up from her seat and started to walk toward the door out of the lounge area.
"I'm... going to get some air." Velvet said as Yang watch the rabbit faunus leave but noticed a small tear escaped her eyes.
"I'll be right back." Yang added as she went to follow after Velvet as she could tell their was something bothering the girl as everyone else did their own thing.
Yang found Velvet outside but instead of walking she saw Velvet in a full sprint heading outside of the academy grounds. This made Yang give chase after the rabbit faunus but with Velvet having a head start Yang would have to go into a full sprint just to keep up with her.
"Hey Vel wait up!" Yang shouted and sprinted after the rabbit faunus.
"Where is she going?" She thought as she gave chase after her.
She saw Velvet make a suddenly left turn which in turn Yang gave chase after her. Yang gave chase after her for about another ten minutes until she saw her run into a park. She decided to carefully walk into the park to follow her.
In the park their was an assortment of equipments for children to play on along with a huge playground for the kids. There were basketball hoops as well for some of the older kids. She spotted Velvet sitting on a swing but she had this rather downcasted on her face that was rather easy to read almost like she was thinking about something but not sure how to go about it.
Yang walked over to another swing and sat down on the one next to Velvet. Just as she was about to speak Velvet spoke.
"You didn't have to follow me you know." Velvet said not even looking at her.
"Well I can't help but feel some concern for a fellow teammate. Plus it looked like you have something on your mind. I'm willing to lend an ear." Yang said.
"No. I'm fine I just need to sort it out myself." Velvet started.
"Pssh. C'mon I know when something is bothering someone. It's okay to let it out once in a while you know." Yang said but it only seemed to bother Velvet more.
"I told you I'm fine. Could you just leave." She said her voice almost turning into a growl.
"Not until you tell me what's wrong. I know there is and it's eating you up inside." Yang continued to pester but Velvet has had enough.
"Why do you want to know!?" She shouted getting up from the swing as Yang quickly followed.
"Cause I'm your friend Vel. What's gotten into you huh?" Yang asked with worry on her face.
"Oh since when were we friends. The last time I thought someone was my friend they nearly killed me!" Velvet shouted finally getting out her frustration.
That's when it clicked in Yangs mind of who her friend was talking about.
"You mean... your team right. What happened?" Yang asked as this time Velvet got quiet for a moment before she found the strength in her voice again to speak.
"It was just after the tournament finished when the grimm were attacking I went to find my team but that's when I saw them kill two of the guards and then they looked directly toward me like I was just another target. I didn't know what to think at the time as I thought it was just some kind of trick they were pulling but that was when Coco approached me with her gun point directly in front of my face. I was looking down the barrel of death thought it was going to be the end of me but Fox shouted something which got her to leave. I just stood their... and did nothing as thoughts ran through my head." Velvet started as Yang listened.
Tears formed around Velvets eyes as she continued "I thought I was going to die right then and there. After the shock I ran toward a ship and got on it leave Vale behind. I... I ran away like a coward that was too scared to face death in the face. Everytime I play that same image in my head and thought what if she did pull the trigger that I knew I would be dead so why bother keeping someone like me alive. Was it for me to feel this dread that I could've been killed that night or was that Coco felt like leaving me alive and that she could've killed me anytime she wanted to." Velvet said wrapping her arms around herself as tears flowed down her cheeks.
Yang approached her and wrapped her arms around the rabbit faunus hugging her tight enough that she was comfortable but Velvet continued.
"I thought nothing of it when we were teammates the first time we formed Team CVFY but looking back now... that friendship was nothing but a lie." Velvet said not even stopping her own tears as she nuzzled into Yangs arms.
"Hey easy now. Nobody could've known what they were doing. Ozpin couldn't have known about those three but if there is one thing is that you aren't a coward. You helped made sure everyone got out safe. That's what mattered right. Besides if those three show up again and try to hurt you they'll have to get through me first." Yang said confidently.
Velvet stared up at Yang as her brown eyes met lilac. Yang let go of Velvet as she used a her thumb to wipe away a tear.
"Now let's head back to the others." Yang said as Velvet nodded.
"You know something Yang you sound just like Amber." Velvet replied.
"Oh. An old girlfriend." Yang said but Velvet made a disgusted look.
"Ew. No. She's my older sister. Amber Naux-Scarlatina. Though she was kinda the supposed bad egg of the family. She would run out and she sold fake items to rip people off then one day she got too much over her head and an undercover cop caught her and she was arrested. I don't know what happened after that." Velvet replied.
"Man that's rough. How'd your family take it?" Yang asked.
"Not so great. They pretty much cut all contact with her and cut her off completely from all finances pretty left her to hang and dry. Me... I was saddened what happened to my sister but my family wanted me to move on. So I decided to become a huntress to sort of honor my sister in a way cause she always dreamt of becoming a huntress." Velvet said.
"That's quite noble of you. I know me and Ruby are only step sisters but we treat each other like sisters and I would do anything for her. Though we should start heading back before they start worrying about where we are." Yang said and with that the two left the park and began their long way back to the academy.
=SPIR=
Meanwhile with Weiss and Star the two had found somewhere the two could talk rather privately though it still brought some concern to Weiss as to what Star wanted to talk about. The two were now standing outside near one of the CCT Towers.
"So is there something that you wanted to tell me Star. You wanted to talk privately." Weiss added.
Star nods rubbing her head unsure how to approach the qeustion "Yeah just, you know gathering my thoughts a moment plus I'm sure exactly how you would take the news I'm trying to tell you so I just ask a question. Did your father mention something about another heiress to the Schnee family?" Star asked.
Weiss pondered that question a moment before she answered a small scowl on her face "He did mention something like that a few years ago. He said if he only had that other daughter of his then his legacy would be safe or something along those lines. Why'd you ask?" Weiss questioned.
Stuffing her hands in her pockets her hands clenched into fists "Let's just say I found something else about myself when I was in Vacuo. Something I'm rather disgusted about." Star said with venom in her words.
Surprised Weiss approached the fox faunus "Okay...just what is it that you found about yourself?" She asked gently.
Star mummbled and removed her hands from her pocket as she pulled out something and hands it to Weiss. It was a crumpled and somewhat wadded up, folded piece of paper that Star was all to familiar with.
She let's out a sigh as Weiss went to take it "You might want to take a look at this. Just a fair warning, don't be too shocked about what you see." Star said slightly making the former heiress nervous.
Taking the paper, and unfolding it Weiss began to read over it's contents "Looks like some kind DNA test results." Weiss thought to herself. She read over it slowly, and as she went the more she understood, and more turbulent her emotions started to become. At first there was confusion which slowly morphed to shock, and then rage. Her hands shook and she screams before ripping the paper to shreds.
"Why that no good bastard!" Weiss shouted a look that was a mix of disbelief and rage on her face.
She panted heavily, but it slowly began to calm herself as realization hit her "So your saying that paper says that your Jacques daughter. That means that you and me are..." Weiss started.
Star gives a small nod "Half-Sisters. Yeah that's pretty much what it says. Same father just...different mothers." Star says as glances away having never met her mother.
Weiss put a hand on her head still trying to get over the shock that she had another sister without even knowing it.
"She is your family. Even if he denies it. You can still care for her no matter what he says to you." A soothing female voice said in Weiss head a small memory coming over her.
Weiss takes a small breath as decided to help comfort her younger half-sister "Hey. Umm...for what it's worth. I think I know who your mother is Star." Weiss said, and Star looks to her.
Understanding that she wanted an explination she takes in a breath, and lets one out "It was...a bad day for me. My father had whipped me for demanding to go see m...our older sister, and in no uncertain terms told me Winter was disowned." Weiss began.
Star winced recalling the scars they had seen before as Weiss continued "I was crying as I ran back to my room, but I never made it as I ran into someone. I-It was one of our maids. One of our faunus maids." Weiss says and Star's eyes widen.
"She asked me what happened, but I refused to talk. She took it in stride though, and chuckles having no problem with it, but she still wanted to treat my bleeding back." Weiss kept going as she fondly remembered what happened.
"To keep me calm during it she...she wrapped her tail around me. Her fluffy, white, fox tail. It...it really helped me Star." Weiss explained.
Star's eyes widen "White...fox...tail..." She says in shock.
Weiss nods to Star "Just like yours Star." She added.
Star swallows a bit trying to hold back some anticipation "I-Is there a-a-anything else you remember about her?" Star asked.
Weiss thought long and hard about things as something did come to her "Meena. Her name is Meena." Weiss said recalling the woman's name.
"Its not much to go on but... when I get my hands on him he's not going to like what I do to him." Star growled.
"Oh I'm right there with you but simply going after him isn't just something you do. You have to plan and be gather evidence before going after him. Trust me when I say that many tried and none of them succeeded. For now why don't we put that on the back burner sis." Weiss said.
Star smiled at that as she figured that Weiss was right on that front as she just wanted to enjoy time with her newly found half-sister.
"You know that also means you have a second half-sister and brother now as well." Weiss mentioned.
"Really? You mean Winter and...your brother." Star said.
"Yes. You've already met Winter but I tell you about Whitely and Willow if that's alright with you." Weiss added.
Star nodded as she now wanted to know more about the other members of her new family.
=SPIR=
Off the west coast of Anima the ferry was nearing the shore line as everyone was prepared to dock. Blake, Iona, Sun, and Killa were getting things ready when Killa ears flicked like she heard something coming towards them. She began looking around trying figure out where the source is coming from.
"Hey you okay sis?" Blake asked.
"I just... hear something like the sound of a bird flapping it's wings." Killa said as the others tried to listen in but they couldn't hear anything.
"Really? I don't hear-" Sun started to say when suddenly a loud cawling sound got their attention as they noticed a medium sized raven swooped in before perching itself directly on the side of the ferry.
"Okay... you must've hear that bird flying in." Sun added.
Blake took a careful look at the raven as it could've been mistaken for Yangs mom but their was something on its leg that it was carrying with something wrapped around it's leg as the bird as staring at her.
Then that's when Blake started putting things together of who this is.
"Muninn." Blake said as the raven cawed at that name.
Blake approached the bird and began untying the object around the birds leg. Once removed the bird decided to perch on Blakes shoulder while she read the message it had in its possesion. Blake froze in place as she read the message and the others could already tell that it wasn't anything good for them just by Blakes expression.
"What's wrong Blake?" Sun asked.
Blake turned to face the others and she had a rather frightened look on her face.
"It's the White Fang. They're on the move and heading toward Mistral. They'll be their within four days." Blake said reading them the message.
"Yikes that's not a lot of time. There has to be a short cut to get their faster." Iona said.
"C'mon let's go tell the others." Killa said as the four of them went to go find the adults.
Luckily they weren't too hard to find as they were currently in the main deck talking with the captain.
"We're approaching a village where we can dock. Will this get you all closer to your objective?" The captain asked.
"Just close enough. We'll have to walk it the rest of the way." Summer said.
"This should give us with enough room to get their to Haven before the Fang." Rieka replied.
"Thank you for helping us captain. I'm not sure how we can ever repay you." Kali said.
"Oh shucks Ms. Belladonna you all needed help so I just happy to assit." The captain added.
Just then Blake and the others came in with the bird still sitting on Blakes shoulders.
"Mother we might have a bit of a problem." Blake said getting the adults attention.
"What is it dear? Something wrong?" Kali asked her concern daughter before she noticed the raven that was with them.
"Wait a minute. Is that Muninn?" Kali questioned as the bird cawed at her.
"A messanger bird. Is that what the White Fang use?" Summer asked.
"Only a certain person can raise and train messenger birds like this. One of Siennas people is still in the White Fang and is still loyal to her. This is an opportunity we can use." Rieka replied.
"Um hold on even if we walk from here to the academy we would have to get ahead of them which from the looks of it they probably already have a head start on us." Kali said.
"Not if we know of a shortcut." Summer said getting everyone's attention.
"You got something to add Sum." Blake replied.
"Captain can you pull up a map please." Summer said politely. The captain pressed a button and brought up a holographic map of where they currently are.
"Go north east from here toward the mountains." Summer said as he did what Summer asked.
"There." Summer said quickly pointing out the location that looked like to be nothing there at the bottom of the mountain.
"I don't see anything there." Sun said.
"During my travels I noticed a cavern that is big enough for people to go through." Summer stated.
"Okay but where does that cavern lead?" Killa asked.
"Where do you think?" Summer said with a smirk.
"I traveled the route and it leads directly toward Mistral. If I'm right and I know I am we should come out right here." Summer added pointing out a spot that is just a cave near Haven Academy.
"That is where we can intercept the White Fang." She finished.
"Alright then we got a plan. We better get going if we're going to find the cavern then you're going to have to lead us Summer. Let's get everyone off the ferry and then we can move out." Rieka said as they left the captains room to do just what Rieka mentioned.
"Go back to your owner Munnin and thank you." Blake thanked the bird as it cawed spreading its wings before taking off toward the skies. Blake silently prayed that they recieved the message in time and that they could stop the White Fang before another academy is destroyed.
F3: That ends chapter 20. Weiss has been told that Star is her half sister and now Summer and company are now making their way toward Mistral. What else can happen later?
