Chapter 03: Finding Weapon X(Edited)
"Today is definitely strange." Danny said.
It had started to simple but now he had been recruited by the government and being sent on a mission to who-knows-where. He could not run from this if Clockwork was to be believed otherwise it would end badly for a lot of other people. He could not let that happen.
"First I have to get rid of the box ghost." Danny said to himself before heading to the basement.
The basement of the house was very different from the parts above. It was full with inventions that he had been working on for the past month. Tools to help when dealing with random attacks whether they be by ghost or by super villain. Shrink rays, containment foam, energy prison cubes, and much more filled the shelves. Some things he was planning on selling to law enforcement to make their jobs easier. Others to sell to the government to help deal with emergencies.
The most important thing in his basement was the ghost portal. It was protected to not open for anyone that was not him or had the password that he changed every month. It was better to be extra careful when dealing with such a machine. The original and Vlad were created by such a device, and he did not need the event replicated on this world. It and the ecto-energy that crashed against it were what powered his house.
With the press of a simple button the steel doors on the portal opened. The swirling green energy was still beautiful to look at but there was no time for distractions. He tossed the glowing green and blue chip through the portal. The chips were the containment device the ghost was sent to after being captured by his arm bands.
Now he had to go and find Clockwork to get some answers.

"Yes?" Clockwork asked as he landed and began walking towards him with a scowl on his face.
"I need answers. You can't just say millions will die and expect me to leave it like that." Danny said.
This whole appear and give random pieces of advice may work well on the original but he was his own person and refused to be distracted so easily.
"I am the master of time. I can see what has happened, what will happen, and what can happen and if you run away a disaster will arrive which will end millions of lives." Clockwork said as he turned into his child form.
The transformation was simple all it took from him was the decision to be an age and with his powers it came to be. Danny wondered if he was ever going to get that power or if it was something that was unique to Clockwork as manipulating time was his entire shtick. He also wondered even if he got the power would it be just cosmetic or would it actually mess with his actual age. It would be really useful if he wanted to disappear or pretend to be his own descendant if his lifespan extended beyond regular humans.
"Okay tell me what this problem is and I will go deal with that." Danny said trying to avoid the whole working for the government.
If there was this huge threat than why not just deal with it before it happened.
"There is no work around. You have to do it this way if those lives are to survive." He said annoying him.
Daniel would try to argue the point, but he did not want to push the master of time to far. Clockwork may decide to teach him a lesson by dislocating him through time or give him a punishment that could feel like centuries but only be minutes.
Anything could be possible.
"That's all I'm getting out of you, isn't it?" Danny questioned and as he turned to his old man form and shook his head.
"I am going to help you at times but that does not mean that things will be easy." Clockwork said.
"Alright. Anything you want to tell me right now?" Danny asked.
"Don't fear the Rouge." Clockwork said.
"Anything less vague?" Danny asked but the only answer he got was a swirling portal back to the world of the living.
He could take a hint and so with that Danny left Clockwork's lair.

"So, anything new happen?" Hawkeye asked gaining his attention as he entered the room.
He was a blond man that looked to be between his late twenties and early thirties.
He was not given the man's real name as apparently; he had not yet earned the right to know it. The man seemed to be the serious type, but he could not tell if that was his personality or because he was overseeing this test.
According to the file he had been given Weapon X was originally a government project that dealt with dealing with dangerous threats against the United States. These missions were so important and secret that unless you had proper clearance just learning about them was enough to have a government team sent after you. The target would barely have enough time to order a cup of coffee before being taken out. According to the files they were not a subtle group. There were horrible pictures of corpses torn apart savagely. Sometimes there were so many corpses left behind that the events had to be declared as the result of terrorist attacks to hide the truth. The main weapons used in these missions were captured mutants.
Powerful ones if the damage in the pictures were to be believed.
"It looks like they got a new shipment of mutants." Danny said looking at the footage of a truck dumping seven mutants in the snow with six walking with bags over their heads with the last being carried in a stretcher.
It had not been hard to place cameras around the facility given that he could turn invisible. The reason that he was being sent after them was because the operation had gone rogue and were now carrying out missions that served their own personal goals.
"So, what is the plan?" Danny asked Hawkeye.
"We are going across the street and heading to the bar." Hawkeye said walking to the closet on his side and pulling out a suitcase.
"Is there a target in there we need to capture?" Danny asked trying to be positive and hope that the overseer for this test was not a drunkard.
He wanted to save the mutants that were being tested in that facility. No one deserved to be treated as a science experiment.
"In that bar across the street is a scientist that currently works at the facility. You told me that you can possess people so once you are in the bar you possess the guy and walk out. From there we go to an isolated location where we can question the scientist to our satisfaction." Hawkeye said.
"Are you going to torture the man?" Danny asked.
"I am going to need to get the answers somehow." Hawkeye said.
"I can get the information with no torture needed." Danny said.
He was not going to let that happen if it did not need to. He was okay with sending the man to prison. Killing him was also something that he was fine with, but torture was something he was not okay with.
"How? Do you plan on asking nicely?" Hawkeye asked the condescension and mockery clear in his tone.
"When I possess someone, I can view through their minds and access their memories." Danny said.
Hawkeye would probably inform Fury of it but sometimes you had to take a stand for your beliefs.
"Fine. This is your mission we can do it your way." Hawkeye said.
"Great. Let's go and get him then." Danny said as he turned towards the door.

"Are you alright Richard?" The barman asked as shattered the glass in his hand.
"I'm fine. I was just thinking about something. Sorry for the glass" Danny said in the scientist's voice.
According to the memories in the man's head his name was Richard Quinn and as far as the people in this town were aware he was here studying weather phenomenon in the mountains. The people in this town had no idea how cruel this man was, and Danny was regretting more and more that he had come up with this idea.
"Here." Danny said as he handed the man more money and walked out of the bar. He slouched on a nearby bench and waited for Hawkeye to signal him.
His overseer was making sure that none of the guards that had come to watch the scientist noticed any strange behavior. Danny suspected that the man was going to be rather violent to accomplish such a task.
Those guys probably deserved a lot worse than what was going to happen to them.
"So looked like the plan worked." Hawkeye said as he contacted him through his communication device.
"Things are bad Hawkeye." Danny said thinking on what he had just learned.
"What do you mean?" Hawkeye asked.
"You remember those new mutants that Weapon X just brought here that I was telling you about?" Danny asked.
"What about them?" Hawkeye asked his tone neutral.
Danny did not know how the man felt about the mutant situation but either way what was going on was probably something that he would want to deal with.
"They are the X-men." Danny said.
"What do you mean?" Hawkeye asked though Danny noticed that even though he could not see the man that he sounded tense.
"I mean Weapon X attacked the X-men in their home in Westchester and kidnapped them." Danny said.
Since he had come to this world, he had studied its history and its heroes. The X-men were trying to bring humans and mutants together in peace. He respected them a lot. What was going to happen to them was wrong.
"We can use this." Hawkeye said.
"What are you thinking about?" Danny asked.
The part of him that came from Vlad came up with several scenarios where the captured team of mutants could be taken advantage of. Either to help them or to hurt them.
"I mean we can come up with a better plan to rescue them given we know what powers they have and how useful they can be in combat." Hawkeye said.
"These are people not weapons." Danny said.
"That is debatable but right now we have to complete the mission." Hawkeye said.
"What do you want to do?" Danny asked.
"Come to the secondary location. We can hold the man there while we rescue the prisoners." Hawkeye said.
"Alright." Danny said as he started walking.

"What is going on?" Richard Quinn asked. It was probably because he found himself on the snow-covered ground with his hands and feet handcuffed.
"You are in our custody." Hawkeye said.
"I have done nothing wrong." Richard said as he started struggling to break free.
"We all know that is a lie." Danny said looking at the bound man.
"Who the hell are you?" Richard asked.
"I am the guy that caught you. If you are curious about your capture, you are being charged with kidnapping, accessory to murder, human experimentation, and treason. Basically, you have done enough that the courts would send you away for life." Danny said.
"I can help you. I know a lot. We can make a deal." Richard said.
"I already know everything important." Danny said as he glared at the scientist with glowing eyes.
"Mutant freak! I do not know what you did to me, but the courts will never accept what you say. You have no real proof." Richard said.
"I would be very careful with what you say. I do not approve of racism or scientist that experiment on living people." Danny said.
"Easy kid." Hawkeye said stepping into the conversation.
"Who are you?" Richard asked.
"Don't worry about it. Now you said you want to help us?" Hawkeye asked.
"I will do anything." Richard said.
He was probably thinking if he helped us that he would avoid whatever trouble was heading for the facility. He is wrong as one way or another Danny would make sure that justice would be served.
"That's great because there is a way that you can help us." Hawkeye said.
Looks like they were finally getting ready to take down Weapon X.
