"Fucking hate panthers, stinking cats!" Inuyasha huffed, sitting down finally. He was shocked his brother even agreed to help Kouga, but they were allies, and Sesshomaru didn't want any panthers thinking they could sneak their way West. Words must have gotten out that he was a bit preoccupied. Foolish. The wolves were strong and had decent numbers, but the panthers had more.
But how many dog demons does it take to wipe them out? Two.
Of course, this was just week three, and Sesshomaru was getting annoyed.
Inuyasha looked at his brother. "Kouga can handle it a few days, you know,"
Sesshomaru, who had his eyes closed, opened them. "Where would you have me go, Inuyasha?"
"Back to her!" Inuyasha snapped,
"If you wish to leave, then go; I will not," He couldn't, not right now. That's what those damn cats were waiting on. "I expect nothing less of you,"
"Im here, ain't I!"
Sesshomaru closes his eyes.
"Are you even a little bit sorry?"
Sesshomaru snapped his eyes open again,
"About all this?"
"What would sorry do, Inuyasha? It is what it is,"
Inuyasha rolled his eyes. "You know you're not as convincing as you think you are,"
Sesshomaru raised an eyebrow,
Inuyasha leaned back. "Funny, you aren't afraid of war, but you're afraid of feeling something for her, afraid of their judgment,"
"And would you not judge me, Inuyasha?" He asked,
"Would you care if I did?"
"No, your point is mute."
"Yeah, well, your bad moon and blide killing spree isn't just because of some cats, Sesshomaru,"
Inuyasha stood. "She is in your reach, would stay by your side forever, but you keep lying to her, but you can't lie to me,"
"What you claim to see, Inuyasha is a woman who has come to terms and is using me for survival just as I am using her for my needs,"
"Yeah, keep telling yourself that, buddy,"
"Where are you going?"
Inuyasha stopped. "I mean, do you hear yourself? Lying to her is one thing; believing your own lie is another,"
"Enough, Inuyasha,"
"Yeah, whatever. Im going back to check on them,"
"Your mate would send word if there was a problem."
"Im going,"
"As I said, I expect nothing less,"
"Fuck you," Inuyasha made his way back.
Kikyo and Kagome knew he was coming and could feel him, and they worried something was wrong because he was by himself.
But he didnt rush.
"Yall miss me?" He asked,
They both smiled, and he touched his mate's belly; she would give birth soon.
"How are you doing?"
"Tired, hungry, and annoyed but otherwise healthy," His mate said, and then he looked at Kagome. "And you?"
"His mother visited, but I'll have to use the necklace soon," Inuyasha looked over her; she looked like she was losing weight in other areas, but her belly was growing. Her eyes didn't shine like they used to, her hair seemed less wavy, and her color was paler than normal. The baby seemed okay, but it was clear it was feeding off her.
"How is the war going?" Kikyo asked,
"Damn, cats just keep coming; Sesshomaru is a bad moon which doesn't go over well for them, they cross the threshold, and he kills them,"
"When is he not in a bad mood?" Kikyo asked,
"He is in a worse mood," He said, and he knew why but wasn't saying.
That night, he and Kagome did their power share; he hoped it was enough. Right now, it was day by day with her.
His timing was perfect; six days after he came back, Kikyo went into labor.
Kagome wasn't able to help, she was on bed rest by order of his mother, who did not linger about.
It was early morning when Kikyo gave birth, a short time after Inuyasha entered Kagome's room. "Kagome, you awake,"
"Hey, how's Kikyo?" She whispered,,
"She did fine, Tula was a great help for not being a Miko,"
"Im sorry,"
He walked up. "Dont apologies,"
Her eyes went to his arms.
He slowly leaned and laid the baby next to her. "Your new nephew," He said,
Kagome was lying on her side, looked down, and smiled. "Hi." He had thick black hair but no dog ears. He was more human than anything, but they knew he would have superhuman abilities. Kagome wondered for a moment how Sesshomaru would feel about this kid.
Her own baby must have felt him, for he started kicking around, but as the baby cooed and snuggled, her unborn child settled to, and she actually felt relaxed.
Inuyasha left him there until he grew hungry and needed his mother. Kikyo got to rest, and it was her request that he go to Kagome.
Inuyasha stayed for three weeks, but then, he knew he had to go back.
He barged into Kagome's room that morning. "Oi,"
"Knock, Inuyasha!"
"I knew you were walking around; come on!"
She sighed. "You leaving?"
"Yeah, but I need you to rub this all over your body,"
"I beg your pardon?"
Inuyasha handed her a sash "He is gonna be in a horrible mood when I get back; I stayed longer than I should have,"
"What does that have to do with this?"
"Your scent will help,"
"Are you trying to bride your brother?"
"Do you want me to come back missing an arm?"
"Im not sure my scent will help that much,"
Inuyasha pushed it to her, and she took it and rubbed it on her neck, belly, and arms.
Inuyasha just blinked. "Yeah, I need something better than that,"
She looked at him flat,
"He is going to be really, really mad,"
Kagome pushed Inuyasha out of the room and slammed the door. She could not believe she was doing this. She rubbed it over her breast, down her belly, and just to really piss him off, she rubbed it against her thigh near her womanhood.
She yanked open the door, and Inuyasha was holding a small fabric bag open. "In here," She dropped it in, and he pulled the string shut. "Wish me luck,"
"What if something happened,"
"K, he ain't gonna die, Kagome dont worry,"
"Who said I was worried!"
"You two are two fucking pees in a pod," He cursed on his way out and continued to rant about the two all the way back to war.
